Joe is good but be prepared to spend over an hour if you don’t time it well. The old guys take a minimum of 30 mins on each cut, which old patrons like because they chat but if you don’t want to wait, don’t choose Majestic. If you don’t mind waiting, grab a coffee and newspaper.

A real old school barber shop. Great cuts and they know you and your family. Nick and Joe are great guys. I moved 30 minutes away and still only use this barber, though I pass a dozen on the ride there. Worth it every time.

Very terrible barber. Charges for leaving hair on the are repeatedly told to take off. Then they played with the money they were supposed to return for change. What business that does that do you see as honest? If you cant see the hair you cant cut the hair. Ive trained for apprenticeship under a master barber. The work done here is paltry and not worth the time or gas or walking energy to got to Majestic and get ripped off. Extremely dissatisfied.

I have been going to Majestic Barber Shop for about 4 years now. I started going there while living in Long Beach.I have moved several times including moves to Manhattan, and ending up in New Jersey. Even living in New Jersey, I make the trip (about one and a half hours) to Majestic Barber Shop. Why? First, Majestic Barber Shop is just what the name states......a good old fashioned barber shop. Not a sal-on, not a styling shop, but a barber shop Nick the owner knows everyone in town, and you feel like he has known you just as long as everyone else the very first time you go there. But most importantly, I get the best haircut at Majestic Barber Shop. Joe cuts my hair and he works with precision and expertise. Since I moved from Long Beach, I tried about 5 other shops in every location I lived, but I returned quickly to Majestic because no others compare. Thank you Joe, thank you Nick, I will continue making the trip to look my best and feel at home at Majestic Barber Shop.

Theres nobody better than Nick. Hes been cutting hair in the City by the Sea since 1962.
