I tried a new LA Fitness location today on Plymouth Road, near I-96. Its closer to my business and near the stores I frequent for supplies. Very clean womens locker room.

Amazing location. All the staff are great, very nice and very helpful. They care about you and get to know you. The location is very well kept and clean. I do personally training with Moe and he is a GREAT trainer. Highly recommend this location!!

Love the place, great place to exercise and relax. The employees are polite and helpful. It has a really great atmosphere.

My second favorite gym after the Plymouth location only because it has less backworkout machines

I frequent here weekly. One of my favorites because of the Jacuzzi, Sauna and I love the Turf in the middle. Usually, the basketball court is the busiest area, but weight room and machines are open or dont have a long wait.

Some areas could use a little more deep cleaning, but it’s large with many machines, free weights, basketball court that is always busy, and a pool with 4 swim lanes.

It’s a great gym. They really need to do a better job with the men’s bathroom though it’s. They need to update it and have it looking the one on 7 mile.

Im in town for only a month and Yashica and Terran took their time to make sure I could get a proper plan to fit my needs. Greatly appreciated.

This location is my new home! I usually go to the Allen Park location but it’s quite disgusting. This location has exceeded my expectations and I love love love how clean it is. Plus they have equipment I haven’t seen at the other locations so yeah I’m very much so pleased!!

I know that sales people have to be sleazy, desperate, and pestering but these people take it way too far. We got sent to a sales man simply to activate my boyfriend’s guest pass, but he proceeded to talk us in circles for 15 minutes about memberships that were 5X higher than the email offers and ignore the simple easy original request of just activating the guest pass!!! He was incredibly rude and frustrated when we would not set a date to talk to him more about buying a more expensive membership. Do not waste your time and money- sign up online and avoid the sales team at all costs....

If the gym opens at 5 am there should be someone there at 5 am. This is the fifth time I have gone at 5 and NO ONE IS THERE TO OPEN. There are 20 paying La Fitness customers outside waiting to get their workout in. Waste of money!

Great gym for a real workout. Great for all fitness levels and truly are judgment free unlike others who claim to be.

Good gym, clean and plenty equipments. The only bummer was this was the only la fitness without a racquetball court but that should not matter if you don’t care about it.

Gym is well maintained. Excellent staff and well management. They have trainers working with other members on a daily basis, this can be helpful for a beginner

Newer equipments. But some critical ones are missing that you find in other la fitness like heavy bags and upright cable machine.

Lots of people working out with their masks over their chin. I try to go when it’s slow so it’s not as many people around. You never know who is carrying this virus.

Just wish the chrome was cleaned more often .

Probably the dirtiest gym I have ever been to in 20 years of lifting weights. For the price I’m paying for a membership, I shouldn’t have to go to 4 different showers before I find one without trash on the ground in it.

Great staff.... thoughtful, professional, and focused on ones exercise regimen and needs, from diet to specific muscle and body exercises. Matthew E. was especially good, and thorough, and upbeat. Physical trainer Brian is... low- key, outwardly, but disciplined, effective, great. I hadnt planned on investing in a full training program, but they convinced me, professionally. Id recommend Matt and the team there to any and all.

Hey! i am going to get a member ship tomorrow do they accept 13 year old’s cause i really need to hit the gym i don’t have enough equipment at home

My friend wanted to join so I brought him along. They added him to my account without my knowledge. I have been charged for 2 memberships and he is getting charged for one. The worst part is getting hold of someone to talk to you. The worst ever staff. I was supposed to receive a thank you note to bring in membership not charging my credit card and lousy attitude. The Manager Staff manager on 11/16/2020 refused to remove the charges and kept insisting that he is a family member because he has the same first name as mine.

Dirty all around. Only as a last resort for this one and this review spans several years of periodic visits when here from put of town. Trash bins overflowing, papertowel on floor and counters. Toilet area not maintained. I told the guy at the front desk and he says he cant do anything. He should be on the phone to the owner.

The worse lady manager at the front desk she is so rude and does not know how to communicate at all. Just because you are a manager does not mean you are allowed to Yell at costumers have a little more empathy some people are going through things.

Depending on which one you go to. There are rarely lockers available in Southfield. Get out of your pandemic cave...go to a health club and believe me its clean and safe.

The place is clean but legit they only have 3 paper towel dispensers on the floor... of which only one is working and it’s near the front door. So clearly no one is sanitizing anything....

Wet area was nasty

I called for a question and dalila the rude lady sitting on the second desk tells me I’m busy right now we can call you back and doesn’t even ask for my phone number! 3 days later so no call back. Iv spoken to her before an she’s as rude as the manager at the front desk horrible costumer service!

They have a really nice sauna here. This is a busier location than some of the other ones in the area. That being said, every time that I go here it looks pretty clean.1

The gym is excellently staffed. They just upgraded last year. They also are always having classes which is great for many, but sometimes problematic when I am trying to use the pool to get a few laps in.

Ive been coming here for 7 years, and watched the decline and deterioration of the gym over time. Like they never tried to keep up with the maintenance. They just did a little bit of remodeling and it looks awesome, but there definitely needs to be more upkeep at this facility. Bathroom and showers are usually pretty dirty, sauna always stinks. Get better LA

The facility is clean and nicely renovated. When you go sign up for a membership watch out for their dealers. THEY WILL TRY TO RIP YOU OFF. I had received an email for $20 a month and 0. When I went to sign up, they told me they had 35 a month and 0 down and that it was their “best deal” then I pulled out my email and left them a little hesitant. They have several better deals on their system but will not show you until you negotiate hard for it. Don’t let them fool you.

I really enjoyed working out here. I felt that the facility was always very clean, front desk staff was super friendly, the pool was in great condition, and all the machines met my needs. The only complaint I would have is that there was a huge amount of pressure to buy a membership from one of the workers before I was even halfway done with my guest pass. I ended up feeling glad I worked out there but did not appreciate feeling so rushed and forced into the decision making process. Unfortunately, I do not live in the metro Detroit area anymore and there are no LA Fitness centers near me.... in general they are a very good fit for me with the cardio machines, strength training equipment, and pool all in one place. Hardly any other gym offers a swimming pool and I miss it!!

Spotlessly clean, super friendly and helpful staff. Its also not crowded so you can use the equipment you want to without issues.

This gym is very clean, and has somewhat newer equipment which is a plus. I have taken a few spin classes here and had a blast. The instructors (for the spin classes at least) are very friendly and very motivating, and the classes are really fun. The locker rooms are usually very clean.A big problem with this particular club is some of the front desk staff. There are some staff who are friendly and welcoming, but some staff make it really obvious that they would rather be somewhere else. There have been more than a few times that Ive walked in with just the scanner facing the door and no one at the desk. I would have to scan my tag myself. A lot of times I say Hello or Good Morning to certain people only to have them just scan my badge and not respond back.I remember this one particular incident where the young lady was off talking to someone else when I walked in. She looked at me while I waited at the front desk for her to scan my tag, and she just continued her conversation! As she began to break away from her conversation, I finally got fed up, and reached over and grabbed the scanner myself ( I like to look online to see how many days a month I go to the gym).Overall Ive been to worse LA Fitness locations, but this one isnt so bad if you get the right staff that day.

Its a great community workout place but management is not that friendly. They always presume the worst in people and there is no push to make people welcome and appreciated. Overall, the new renovations make this facility really updated to the new ways people exercise.

Not much variety of cardiovascular machines. Be nice to have more low impact machines other than bikes and treadmills.

Its a good gym for the money, but its not very clean for my taste.

Good staff, usually not too busy.Good place to go if you live close and want to get in and out. Pool is colder than normal and not that clean. Sauna needs an update. Would only recommend a visit if you’re just trying to squeeze in a quick workout and not fully enjoy the amenities. If you’re willing to make the trip I’d recommend the one on Fairlane Dr in Allen Park.

Someone broke my cars window at this LA Fitness as I was working out. The staff didnt offer a solution other than park next to the camera next time But when the parking lot is full, where else can you park? How about investing in a couple more security cameras instead? Makes me not safe coming to workout. Also, that wasnt the first time someone had broken a vehicles window in that parking lot.

It is decent for a basic gym. Equipment is pretty old and worn. Rare to see someone wipe down equipment. If you dont want a pool or classes, Planet Fitness might be a better choice.

They have a really nice sauna here. This is a busier location than some of the other ones in the area. That being said, every time that I go here it looks pretty clean.

Sauna is hot & adjustable. Staff is pleasant. & theres a fantastic lady there every morning who does a cleaning second to none. The clients mess up but she does the job

The pool has been closed nearly a month. This club is very dirty, it seems like things aren’t getting cleaned properly.*Just an update here. Another month has passed and the pool is still closed. Sad, the gym could be much better with the proper management. Not sure why they are keeping water in it, if your thinking of signing up for a membership use this as a bargaining chip, because they won’t refund you once you are locked in, what you see is not what you get.

Ry large and spacious inside, so it doesnt have a claustrophobic feel some other gyms do. Helpful and friendly staff

Can be a little cleaner. and some machines are broken or take way too long to repair. otherwise it’s a good gym. and for the price is hard to beat.

The 3 main crossover cable machines are down, they have been down for at least 5 weeks. These machines are a staple of any gym that wants to call itself a real gym. The staff has no information on when they are going to be replaced or fixed. One person was even rude when I asked about them. Before you buy your membership at this otherwise great gym find out with they will be working.

Absolutely worst staff ever, I went to cancel my membership some lady who was working at the front desk told me “ sorry baby I’m a business woman I’m only here 6am-3pm” if I’m not here you can’t cancel the membership, like first off you work front desk your not a business woman what’s so ever lol other then that terrible place I would rather pay 45 dollars more and workout at lifetime which is what I went ahead to do because this place is absolutely terrible dirty and has a horrible staff.

I like that its nice and bright in the gym. Its a little busy sometimes but I take that as a good thing. Plenty of places to escape to stretch too. Its a nice place to work out. I agree the locker room could be bigger.

I enjoy working out at this L.A. Fitness. The equipment was clean and in working order. It wasnt too crowded for a mid afternoon workout. The locker room and the shower area were also clean. I get my workouts and showers in stress free and go about my business.

I walk in, and they scan my card. I get a smile but not a hello. Im not looking for a hug before I workout so that doesnt bother me... there is a cleaning lady cleaning all day making sure the salt gets picked up, and the locker rooms are clean. The pool has a lane open. The hot tub is hot and clean. The classes are on time and there is TONS of yoga (thats just a class I happen to like). There is always a treadmill or elliptical open on the second floor, no waiting. The people are respectful and dont ogle you. That is why this place gets a 5 star. I have been to three other LA finesses, and I prefer this one.

The new renovations were much needed and really make the building and gym worth the membership fees.

My wife and I have been here since they bought out Bally Total Fitness several years ago. We absolutely love the place and have never had a complaint towards any staff. We are part of the early crew and come in when they open. For us, it is like family. As for the equipment, we are getting all kinds of muscle gains; so can not complain!!! Just my two cents!On Love...

This weird guy who wears sunglasses indoors is constantly filming which is against the la fitness company policies. His name is rob and I don’t like being an Extra In his creepy videos. Plus he smells like weed like he hot boxes his car on way to gym.

I was lied to when I signed up for my training membership. The man that signed me up was actually fired for doing things like that but the club and/or the company would not work with me to come to a fair compromise. BE CAREFUL.... They will tell you anything to get you locked into a contract. The manager does not return calls and the training manager does not keep promises. It would be easier and more affordable to just go to PLANET FITNESS!!!!

Zumba classes are the best, esp Darron and Xnantha. Its a judgement free zone hosting all ages, sizes and nationalities. Great gym! Well done, Zumba crew.

This is a nice gym with HORRIBLE staff. They are uneducated, rude, and ghetto. They bully you and talk down to you. They treat you like you have never had any business dealings and like you are not worth their time. The guy who signed up my account wouldnt sign up my BF and his daughter because he was more worried about my account. I gave him my cell phone number as a point of contact for her, the MINOR,s o I could set up her account. I guess he didnt look at the number when he started calling her and leaving her messages saying, Hey GIRL!! Im a friend of (ME). Hit me up so we can chill. Yeah, lets not let 40-something dudes call 15 year old girls. I cancelled my account today.

Always have a nice workout here. Small cleanliness issue with the womens locker room but other that it serves its purpose for what I come to do.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday daycare lady is amazing! Gym is nice! Need longer daycare hours. Some staff goes above and beyond while the others shouldnt be working there.

Took forever to get someone to help, while plenty of workers sat at their desks. Then he felt it was his job to try & upsell me instead of just setting me up with what my insurance covers. NO SALE PERIOD. No tour offered.

Ill be canceling my membership for Lifetime Fitness. The staff is awful minus one or two employees there. Ill walk in to this location and see employees at the front desk eating, watching movies and playing games. Not even a hello or a look up to see who it is walking through. Today was it. I called and was greeted with typical u professionalism that Ive grown accustomed to there. After or very quick conversation about if something was left there is decided to go check since the employee was too busy to look for me. Once I arrived in walked into 2 employees at the front. One eating and talking to the other who was lying on top of the desk watching snapchat videos. Maybe its because Im a business owner and expect more but my God have a little respect for not only the customer but yourself. Goodbye to the worst gym Ive ever seen.

LA Fitness Livonia is close and conveniently located near my place of work. I visit here often and enjoy the people, the staff and the facilities.

I dont even want to give this place one star. This gym lied to me and my adjuster. They said that i would be able to bill my adjuster for a personal trainer. Then when i gave them the check for the membership they went back on their word. I do not know how to properly exercise. They took money from what i needed and now my adjuster will not let me try to find another gym to go to that i could have a personal trainer. This place sucks. Terrible services.

Seems decent at best to me. The membership fee doesnt seem to be worth the service but i like that i can bring a friend. Helps have someone to work out with and motivates me to go more often.

Really dirty. Usually there are weights scattered not out away. Dirty tissue paper scattered about. The only good thing is they do have some pretty decent machines for body building purposes.

Theyre terrible now. Since LA built a bunch of gyms at once their equipment is terrible. Everything wobbles and shakes, machines look cheap and feel cheaper. LA is barely better than PF now.

Friendliest staff in metro area could use a little TLC not the cleanest locker room but that is more on. Members than staff. They can only clean it. Up to us to put things in trash cans
