We attended a free outdoor summer concert on Thursday, Aug 26 by Motor City Soul. We brought camping chairs, drinks and snacks. We met-up with family and friends. We enjoyed the two hour performance. Plenty of free parking off of 5 Mile or Hubbard. Lots of room for the children to run and play, too.

This place has a lot to offer. A huge complex.Great pool if youre into swimming laps. As well a great river-current pool and slide.

Wonderful clean great family environment. Great prices and has a great park behind it as well. Open year round. Love it

I love this recreation center! Livonia rocks! They have a very clean facility and super helpful staff. Highly recommended! Their prices are phenomenal for everything that is included. Tons of equipment and classes, a pool, hot tub and a lazy river.

Best rec center a little pricey if your not a resident but very worth it

It was fine. Enjoyed. As with most places, theyre understaffed and overworked, because they cant get help right now.The supervisor in the pool area was kind of a downer, a bit unpleasant.Other than that, it was fine.

You want it? They have it! Basketball, soccer, floor hockey, swimming, diving, rock climbing, water park, state-of-the-art weight room and more workout machines than you could ever hope for. I used to work out here 10+ years ago and it looks at least as good 10 years ago. Kudos to Livonia and the maintenance crew. Amazing!

The facilities are great, but I swear they hire the grumpiest people they can find.

This is very nice, clean and well equipped facility. I mainly use it for Swimming in the lap pool. The big issue is I pay for yearly membership but I do not get a lane due to the swim teams. Please reserve at least 2 lanes for members.

Great Christmas tree display. But need to work on ping pong table and air hockey.

Every single time I’ve been here this year, including today, there have been maskless people wandering around. Today i just walked out because MI has had between 5000-8000 new cases a day this week and i wonder how many of them have come out of the Rec Center. The place needs to be shut down until cases are under control, since the patrons don’t care about anything besides themselves.

I love our rec center. Our daughter enjoys wonderful and affordable programs year round while my wife and I enjoy the facilities. We put our daughter in the free kids quarters, where she knows the care workers as they are usually the same people, while we enjoy our fabulous yoga class with Amy. Now they have chess on the tables, check out the pieces at the counter. Ping pong is fun too. So much to do. Seriously a destination. Pool could be warmer, like my only critique.

Theyre taking social distancing and safety very seriously. They do offer a wide variety of nice classes, which is what Ive mainly been doing there. Tons of exercise equipment, rock climbing wall... A very good place.

Not the best weight area. Might not even be better than planet fitness with the minimal selection. Signed up for the yearly membership 2 days ago and im already looking into cancelling. only downside is they only give you 2 options as far as memberships go. Option 1, pay the yearly fee up front or Option 2 pay a monthly fee (whatever the price is for your residency) and are locked in for a minimum of a year and you cant cancel at all. Ridiculous, i will not be coming back to the rec center unless im cancelling my membership which i will be doing tomorrow morning.

The rec center is amazing. I mainly go there for the pool and the gym but there’s so much more you can do as soon as you enter, there’s rock climbing, an indoor track, basketball court, table games, and I just found out they do massages too. The pool is amazing they have a lap pool for you to get some exercise in and a Leisure pool to have fun in. The hot tub is really nice and they have a sauna too. They really did a great job making this place.

Great activity and community center with activities for people of all ages. Lap pool for adults as well as splash pad (both indoor and outdoor) for kids, including a great indoor water slide. Up to date and well maintained fitness equipment for adults, and a multi surface climbing wall. There is also a nice indoor climbing area for kids!

I absolutely love this place. I usually go here for the pool since the pool is super nice. I would love to go in the hot tub but you have to be 12 or older to go in by yourself. My sisters love the place and it’s always super clean. Most people say the lifeguards are mean and some of them are but to be honest, the place is just beautiful. My cousins favorite part was the whirlpool cause me and her got stuck in it but it was fun. I rate this 5 stars totally!

Very nice facility.

Beautiful facility and within it is Mercy Elite Physical therapy. Such a great group of dedicated staff. Due to my condition I was sent there late summer 2017. Two big surgeries in 2018 now Im finally getting to the end of PT.If your insurance includes Mercy Elite PT you owe it to yourself to try them. They actually have several locations in Livonia and Northville.Anna, Steve, Michelle and Brendan have been so supportive and thorough, complete professionals.

I pay a pretty hefty price to be a member here. I have a toddler and I took him to use the pool. The lifeguards were extremely rude to us. Wouldnt let us bring in any pool toys for my two year old? Then they took the basketball away from my child? My 2 year old cried and they just stare at you like these are the rules? I tried to talk to pool supervisor over this with no compromise. They were too busy enforcing these silly rules on us while they didnt even notice important sanitary things like the band aids on the tile without cleaning up after them. The sprinklers were supposed to be on during open swim and they never turned them on? It was one of the worst experiences using a pool that I have ever experienced in all 32 years of my life. I swear I enjoyed hotel pools more than this. Horrible just horrible! My two year old was traumatized over this...

Went there with my grandchildren on 1-21-20 and bought a day pass. I am a Livonia resident, as are they. I find it hard to feel like the experience was positive because the first person I encountered to sign in made me feel uncomfortable. Not welcoming, seemed suspicious, acted like it was my fault we got bad info online about kids activities available. I dont know her name, should have asked. I did my best to be positive and friendly, but as the day went on, I kept remembering her cold, negative attitude. I wont be going back. $10 to be treated poorly!

Reason it gets 3 stars is because its a beautiful facility. However, we waited over 30 minutes for someone to give us a tour.. finally asked if we could just go on our own and was told yes... By the time we left no one was still there to give us a tour...Nor asked us how we liked it or if we had any questions. Not sure how that will ensure memberships or customer satisfaction....

An all around full body/mind fitness experience!! Great classes with professional & experienced instructors. The facility is clean and well maintained. I love the diverse array of classes and activities. Hours of operation accommodates my busy schedule. The aquatics area is too notch from the lap to leisure pool! Would totally recommend it above other gyms.

Walked outdoor track, cold but no traffic to worry about. Very relaxing walk highly recommended.

My grand kids love the pool. Special water fun in the shallow area for the little ones. Theres a slide with rafts and a hot tub. They have a lap pool for my older grandkids too. Even an outside splash pad. Next were going to try climbing the rock wall. Its a little pricey if you dont have a membership or youre not a Livonia resident though.

This is a great recreational center. It provides a wide array of workout activities and many community family focused events for a very reasonable price. The staff is exceptional, the equipment is well maintained and clean. Been using it since they opened and I am a big fan.maintained

Visited this place for a 4yr old Birthday party.. Kids seemed like they had a blast!! Tree house area was a plus, party room was nice, came with sink and refrigerator.. not sure what the cost was, but it seemed like it would be worth it..

They closed this place during lockdown, didnt get any kind of refund on my yearly membership. I guess I’m switching to a different gym.

A really cool and clean place. It was our first time there and we were really impressed with the place. They had work out equipment, a huge rock wall, a decent splash pad, a very cool pool with a lazy river. Our kids had a blast

They needs teach to employees how to speak costumer and kids. They are very rude and they don’t know how to speak for kids. 1 star more employees 0 star. And never come back here

Effort. This is the place to put in the effort and get yourself in shape. The staff and the facilities are very good for a community rec center. I went here for almost 10 years and it never seems run down or mismanaged. The cost for residents is really affordable too. I think I used the pool and the fitness area the most.

Nice facility, large pool area with slide. Small gym, but not as busy as a local chain. Lots of events always happening here, but always able to park in free lot. Has Rick climbing and basket ball courts. Daycare facility included in membership.

A very nice facility, including a pool, running track, gyms and a wide variety of exercise equipment. Fitness classes and individual training programs are also available. It is certainly worth the membership price.

We go swimming here once a with with the kids and love it. Its clean and well maintained. price is better than any other gym if youre a Livonia resident. Great for the kids to come and play on those cold winter days when you have to get out of the house.

Ive been a member at the Livonia Rec Center for over 12 years. My use of the facility has really evolved over the years. In the beginning it was my husband and me trying to get in shape. I took a few classes here and there. When our first baby was six months old I started swimming classes there with her, and had a great experience. After our second baby got to be six months old, i took her to swimming classes, too. I also started taking advantage of Kid Quarters and signed up for yoga classes. Both of my girls continued with swimming classes until they were 8 and 7. At 3 and 2 i signed them up for gymnastics there at the Rec center, too. They are now 10 and 8 and they are still loving gymnastics there, and Im still loving the yoga classes. One of us has something going on there almost every day of the week. When they were younger we often enjoyed the tree fort. It was a great spot to set up play dates. We also love to go play in the pool during school breaks. The water slide is super fun, as is the lazy river. Sometimes i meet friends up there to walk around the track or even just to sit in the hot tub for a bit. They host swim meets there, so occasionally the parking takes extra thought, but they are good about putting up signs so we know its coming. Im truly so glad we have the Rec Center here!

Overall pretty clean, and the staff is nice. The only major complaint is they do not have a lot of strength training machines. But, there has been an added section for additional free weights recently.

I have not had very many bad experiences here. Great for kids. Pool and climbing wall are excellent. Fitness equipment shows to be a bit old, though.

Im a new Livonia resident my son was just now refused entry in the rec center with his friends. Hes been told that he must have a photo ID. I called the center and the spokesperson seems very irritated by my question. He says my son hasnt been since August. Hes never been any problem. Were a black family here in Livonia were often treated with amazement that were here.

Paid for a summer pass to use the pool. They did not mention anything about the pool being closed all summer. Was told they would not do a refund and to go use the outdoor pools. We didnt buy the family pass for the outdoor pools. Will not be going back.

Clean. Well kept. Very busy but flows just right. No proper martial arts room and thus, no good tkd program. They need proper mats and an instructor who actually knows something other than forms.

I love this place. I’ve been going here for a while now and I’ve had the best experiences. The place is always clean and the staff is so kind. Everything is so fun and this place is my favorite.

Ya got a mighty big playing ground of different activities n sports n not a single bathroom for the 30-45-70 kids at one time being there getting hydrated n good times and time cut short only 15 min park time today i had go home to potty so yeah..

This is a really great facility. At times I feel that some of the employees arent very knowledgeable of policies and prices, but the great many things available at the facility completely make up for it. An indoor track, gymnasium, HUGE leisure pool with water slide, separate lap pool, sauna, hot tub, outdoor splash pad, indoor tree fort for kids, a huge selection of machines that are almost always available, gymnastics, outdoor roller hockey, indoor roller hockey, rock climbing wall, outdoor skate park, kids quarters for childcare-- and Im not even listing everything. I moved to Livonia from a bigger city and there was not a facility that even compares to this at these rates. Truly worth it! (If Ive ever had an issue that required more help its always been eventually handled very well by management)

Great for the whole family or a serious workout! My kids LOVE the pool & Tree fort. I love the great selection of machines and equipment available- there are cardio machines all over. The climbing wall is great too!

Great staff. Carol was very helpful. I like all the variety of activities. It is a little more expensive than some fitness businesses but when you compare amenities it is a bargain.

This is a pretty good rec center, but in no way is it worth the money. We bought a summer pass halfway through the summer but still had to pay the full price. the worst part is about a third of the time we went the pool was closed for maintenance. (Cleaning and the such). Nothing makes you feel more like a terrible parent than having your children excited about swimming, driving there, then turning around and going home.

Clean, lots of room, weight machines are not crowding each other. Two basketball courts, rollerblade rink that doubles for pickle ball. There is a large pool for swimming laps, a wading pool for toddlers, a section for aquacize and therapy and pool chute. There is a indoor track- 11 laps per mile. Lockers, showers, sauna for men and women. Ample parking wheel chair accessable.

I look forward to going to this gem in Livonia. There are 2 pools, a hot tub, every exercise equipment available. The staff is kind and helpful. I feel welcomed everyday that I go. It has truly changed my health, mentally and physically.

The Rec Center is clean & very nice. Membership is a bit pricey BUT there are benefits. Who doesnt like the pools? I HIGHLY suggest trying out the Tae Kwon Do classes. They offer options for all ages. It helps build relationships, life skills, respect, self control & confidence. This really can make a significant difference in your childs life.

I have real issue with this place. My wife and I are members have a daughter that is 3. This allows her access through our membership. Issue is though, as I and my wife are members and she is free, she does get membership pricing for a swim lesson. We discovered this when we signed her up for two classes. We questioned why our daughter was charged a non membership price. They first apologized and offered a credit for the difference. Not eve a refund, but what the hey we took at as we expected to sign up for more classes in the future. So one week goes by and credit is not in our account, then 2 weeks go by. They apologize and say that they can make our daughter a member at no cost so that she can have the correct pricing. No refund has been issued yet. Talk to another person that works there, this is the person that is suppose to refund the difference. Now we are told that they will not refund the money, our daughter does not get a discount because she is not a member and that they never should have created a account for her. This is the worst customer service ever. Weeks go by and nothing, no apology, no resolution. This place is pathetic. I pay for this place with taxes and then $400 for a year membership and get treated like trash.

Great facility!! I used to work out at Lifetime Fitness but this place is closer to my house with most of the same amenities. The only thing that I miss from Lifetime is the steam sauna. Im very happy to have membership here.

The place is beautiful. The lifeguards are great.However, the place is expensive. 17 dollars for an entry to the pool on a weekday and you need to pay extra for an aquagym class?!

Must have a membership for most activities. They do offer classes that you can attend for lots of different sports. They also have poke stops and gyms.

Horrible hours for summer vacation and kids. Changed hours to 1pm for kids to use pool. Then you get to swim with all the daycamp kids. Thanks rec center. We will be canceling our membership. Guess kids are not welcome

Great workout areas, leisure pool and sprinkler park is a hit with my daughter and nice to have a place to drop my daughter off at for a few while I get a workout in. Always clean and staff have always been helpful and courteous.

3 weeks ago this would have been 5 stars. The last two weeks on Thursday mornings I have been greeted rudely by the front desk last week and this week. Carol at the front desk obviously does not understand customer service and because of such, she shouldn’t be dealing with paying customers. She made my daughter and I feel unwelcome and unsafe with her aggressive behavior. After talking to a manager about her, my daughter is suffering by not attending classes while she is working. Very disappointed.

For everyone. Staff not courteous. There is no one to talk to. everybody boss. its a derelict place. just a vain money spent place for the city.

I love being here. I need the exercise.

Very clean place, staff is wonderful, the classes are great! However, the membership prices for non-Livonia residents are STEEP! you could join LA Fitness for half the cost.

I like this place a lot, and I would give them 5 stars if a few things were better. The price is a little high for a membership, and the the equipment could be better. Sometimes the equipment gets broke, and isn’t repaired for a long time.

This place is wonderful! The gym is updated and new and has most of the machines you want though it could use more benches. It is wonderful that it has a skatepark, outdoor track, swimming pool, rockwall, court, inside track, and gym!
