As far as engine/transmission replacement they put in work and come out with great value finds. Their recommendations to address common issues on specific makes/models/years are very appropriate. Their payment plan is very convenient and flexible. I rated 4/5 because I suspected a misfire was occurring due to the odometer jumping during idle and the car shaking subtly. I realize now that was most likely caused by the variable transmission timing but they went ahead and ran $150 diagnostics without letting me know that’s what they planned on doing.

Olsen’s does great work - full stop. It’s an honest repair shop that charges a fair price for great work! They’ve worked on two of my cars (Lexus and Honda) and I wouldn’t hesitate to take my cars there again.

I will try to be fair and justify my middle of the road rating.Girlfriend broke down 90 min from home and Olsens is where she and the car ended up. One of the fan belts broke and they would not be able to get to it until the next day. The next day we were informed brakes, battery were also in need of work.The inconvenient broken 25 dollar belt ended up costing over a grand with everything else. Since we picked up the car after hours, no worn parts were shown. I did not ask to see the worn parts at the time of phone authorization.So, I agreed to the work. The work was done. I paid for the work. I cannot verify all the work was needed.Everyone was nice, polite and the place was clean.

Weve been taking our car here for awhile. They will send you text alerts to remind you when you need to come in. There is a girl at the front desk who is not very talkative or friendly for a front desk person. But the work is good and once they picked up my daughter and I at home to get our car when we arent going to be able to get there in time. Too quality service.

I had asked my daughter to get her AC fixed on her convertible Mustang, at her grandfathers shop in Washington before leaving to drive her to ASU in August. On our trip down, we stopped over in San Fransisco to have some fun with her and her sisters. We left San Fransisco on one of the hottest days of the year 104deg and we were stuck in traffic, when my daughter pulled off the freeway (near Livermore, CA) and was crying because of heat exhaustion. I put her in our van so she could cool down and did some research to see if there was a shop nearby. I found Olsen’s Automotive Repair had 4.9 stars, so I called and spoke to Brian. I explained our situation that we need to get to Mesa, Arizona tonight because my daughter checks into her dorms the next day and there is no way she will survive the drive in the heat through the dessert. Brain was very friendly and confirmed they worked on AC. After Sarah was cooled down we drove to their shop. Brain had already explained our situation to Frank, their mechanic. So when we arrived they were ready for us. Frank quickly found the compressor fuse blown and did a pressure check on the AC system and found a leak. So he repaired the leak, replaced the compressor fuse and filled the system with R410 and the AC worked. He also found system was pushing heat towards the defrost because the valve for the temperature control was not working – since the repair would be over 5hrs and we needed to get on the road he was able to move the valve so the cool air was being directed into the passenger compartment. Because they were able to fix the issues in under 2hrs for only $224, I wanted to give Frank a $50 tip. He would not take it until I said he needed to take for my sake, as a token of my appreciation. I was especially glad I did when we were pulling out some trim on the passenger door had come loose and was getting caught on the front fender. Frank grabbed some 3M sticky strips and was able to help me get it reconnected properly. I’m 52 and have never felt so well treated by a shop and feel they charged an honest price for their services. Thanks Brain and Frank! If ever I have vehicle issues around the Bay Area I will be sure to visit your shop again.

As busy as they can be I walked in had to get my headlight bulb change, and the guy there took my information then a lady moved the car and they took about 30 min with paperwork and service I was really impressed.Good price fast service friendly employees. My sons car had some issues starting and the battery was charging fine. I had him take the car to Olsens after a friend recommended it. I was a bit nervous about what they would say and if they would take advantage of me being a female and single mom. I asked them to check the alternator and check the air conditioner too. Brian called me and gave me a run down on the car and what he found. He was more than honest telling me the alternator was fine and the air conditioner was low on freon. He gave me good suggestions and the prices were fair. I will definitely return if I am ever in need of more repairs.

I was unhappy with the many Auto Repair shops that I was using over the years - poor service, unsatisfactory workmanship, expensive and unnecessary repairs etc. A friend suggested Olsens Automotive, so I gave it a try. I had a pleasant experience when I took my 2004 Honda Accord for repair last week. They are knowledgeable, skillful, courteous and honest. I was pleasantly surprised when I was given the final bill - they were very reasonable (I even thought that they were less expensive than the other workshops that I have been to). So grateful for finding Olsens auto-repair while my truck left me stranded during a commute in Livermore. The guys at Olsens made room for me on an already booked day. These folks are honest! We have taken our minivan in twice for a check engine or other failure light. Both situations were minor issues that caused the light to come on (left gas cap off while driving and dead battery). Nonetheless we took the van in to be sure. In both cases they did not charge us for the check and advice. Oil changes are reasonable and they dont try to guilt you into doing extra maintenance. Highly recommended.

I take my RAV4 to Olsens because I know I can trust them to do the work requested. They have never suggested repairs I didnt need and have always been able to identify a problem and solve it (unlike a Toyota Dealership I had used). I was told that the oil leak couldnt be fixed bc the undercarriage was too oily. Was told to clean it myself so they could potentially find the problem. I was willing to pay for them to clean the leaking oil and fix it. Instead, they conveniently found a fracture in the cleanest and easiest place, the radiator and I stupidly agreed to have that fixed. They had my vehicle for about a week. And when I went to pick it up the owner told me that my vehicle wasnt worth fixing bc it had a lot of problems. Wish he told me before they even suggested a new $1300 radiator.

My air conditioning had a leak. I had found a 2-inch puddle of a green liquid on my garage floor. They found the problem was coming from an o-ring at a block on the firewall. They not only replaced the suspect o-ring but a corresponding one inside the cabin. That is the responsible thing to do. I trust a shop like that.
