Called to make an appointment, receptionist was rude, seemed like she wanted to go home. She informed me I needed to check with my work and insurance to see if they were under my network. I informed her thats why I called it said on my dental insurance website that they were. Receptionist responded you need to call them again and check...guess I will take my money elsewhere..smh

Dr. Vu is super! Really, the best dentist- very patient and very thorough. Also, and just as importantly, he has the best dental hygienist, Elaine. Both are thorough and professional and really care about their patients!! Highly recommended!!

Beware of this dentist. Anytime a dentist says we can save the tooth it means that he will spend as much of your money as possible before you have to have it pulled. I went in to have a tooth removed and he told me again and again that he could save the tooth. Having been through that scam in the past I knew not to listen but you always want to preserve your teeth. After numbing me up he prepared two teeth for crowns. He numbed once for the temporary crowns, and proceeded to prepare the teeth for the crowns. He placed the temporary crowns and my tooth was tender from the work but there was no pain. A couple of weeks later He numbed me again, removed teh temporary crowns and did additional grinding on the teeth for the permanent crowns. I believe this is when the damage to the tooth a=occured as the new crowns were again tender and within days the pain was far worse then it was when I initially went in. When I called in, he was out of town and they referred me to an emergency dentist. The surgeon had to numb me up again and drill through the new crown and perform a root canal to eliminate the pain. I then went back to the dentist and was numbed a 4th time so he could put a filling in a the new gold crown I paid a premum for. When I confronted him about the need for a root canal on his return he said it wasnt his fault. I had asked the oral surgeon why the root went bad if the dentist finished his job and he stated it was most likely from the heat of the work and precautions were not taken to properly protect it. With continual irritation, I went back to the oral surgeon and he graciously performed a CT of my teeth and referred me to an endodontist. The heart of the matter is that I wanted to remove the tooth, was strongly encouraged to try to save it and now I am out $2,500. I just received a bill for the last visit basically telling me that it wasnt his fault so I am writing this review to tell you to avoid this dentist at all cost as he does not stand behind his work. Dentistry is a for profit business and they will do everything in their power to remove money from your wallet, and not remove your teeth as it is their livelihood. Find a dentist with more integrity and honesty. While I was sitting at the Oral Surgeons office I saw a Minnesota Dentist association form that outlined requirements and recourse for poor dental care. Since I was not presented this form at Hilltop Dental I will assume they do not abide by such terms.
