I unfortunately inherited this business when I purchased my home. A coil on one of the units went defective after just a couple of years. Good news it was covered… the parts….not the labor. They tried to charge me over $1000 an hour for the labor. I managed to talk them down to what I would still consider an unreasonable amount. Then today one of the rooms on that unit stopped cooling. I go into the attic and the entire ducting for that room had come off the air handler. There is really no excuse for something like that except for lazy installation. See picture. They are overpriced and underdeliver. You’re basically paying for advertising when you use a company like this. I would never use them again after my experience.
This guy Sam came with the intention to make me have to get a new Air Conditioning Unit regardless of my old unit condition. He gave me the impression early on & kept elaborating on the fact that my AC Unit It was too old even before he got on my roof to look at it where it was placed on a slab of concrete. Point blank, he didnt try to replace anything or add any Freon & kept saying he couldnt get a signal from his testing. I told him exactly where it was located, but He started going jacking around with things he had no business touching & didnt respond when I was calling his name asking his whereabouts up there. To add insult to my intelligence he looked all around my place & asked how long Have I been living there? Then once outside, he started asking me about my Jeep payments & BMW & telling me what I can afford? I will keep it professional on this write-up, but it was all about the 8- 15k company AC Unit he was trying to get me to purchase & undermine my thinking. I am 54 years old & I worked hard all my life. I dont need some technician coming out to evaluate my living conditions. All I wanted was good Honest service whether my cooling system could be fixed or not. It would save me time which is money, from calling another company for a second opinion which Im doing. If this system has to be replaced, Ill look at my buying options & do it with a more professional company who has the customer best interest like it was his their family member.
I’ve read thru all these reviews and agree with most of the single star ratings. The service technicians at this company are compensated with commission based pay. Whatever the technicians percentage, it needs to cover the drive to your job and the time on your project. Odds are that your service will be $300-$400 minimum. There is nothing wrong with this usually because they are trained to find issues that you’re not aware of and more work just cost more money. You always have a choice to decline before work begins but many of these people will use scare tactics if they believe they can get away with it. Being uninformed is not to your benefit. I would suggest that you call at least 10 similar contractors. Never allow someone to come to your home or business that says they must send a technician to your home to give you a price. A good contractor will usually try to make you comfortable on the phone before meeting you in person. Never sign anything upfront regardless of the reason. Never pay a deposit. Make sure your technician is licensed and absolutely NEVER side step a city inspection!!!!! A permit is required for all new installs and each permit involves a city inspection. This will force your contractor to do everything that your paying for and more. It also ensures that the contractor is properly licensed and insured. Before work begins the permit needs to be posted facing the Street. Don’t take their word on this. Always get everything in writing.
After paying $7000 to replace the electrical fuse box to a circuit breaker, the AC unit did not work or get power. I called to see if they would come out and fix it, since it worked properly before they came out. They wanted to charge us a minimal $99 service fee just to get them out to fix the problem they caused (and they wouldn’t be able to get there until 3 days later)...I was able to get the AC back on for $80 from another electrician. and they said it was the wiring caused by A#1 Airs electricians. A#1 AIR DIDNT EVEN CHECK TO SEE IF EVERYTHING WORKED AFTER THEY FINISHED INSTALLING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL!!!!! terrible terrible terrible quality, destroyed the paneling on the wall. Do yourself a favor and do a little more research in finding a better company, this company is the equivalent of a used car sales lot.
Ive had nothing but a horrible experience with this companyand would give 0 stars if possible. we originally got a quote from another company for a train unit at least 3k cheaper, but thought since a #1 air is known for their customer service we would spend the additional money. what a horrible mistake.1. it took at least 3 calls to get reimbursed for the hotel room we were promised. the sales guy David was not helpful at all. once he made the sale he didnt care about helping us at all.2. we bought a new ladder from them as well for our attic. we were told they would contact us to have the contractor come out. he came... a month later after we left a negative better business review that we paid for an incomplete job.3. the guys who came and installed our ac left trash all over our attic, which we cleaned up when we went to inspect our attic.4. the sales guy promised us one free year maintenance for our ac which included an air filter change. a #1 air contacted us to schedule the maintenance. when the technician arrived he told us air filters are not included, so lie # 1, and the filter needs to be changed every 6 months not every year as the sales guy told us, lie # 2, and the installation guys left some of our duct work unsealed. not only did they trash our attic they didnt even finish the job.5. our free year maintenance cost $39 as an ac tune up fee and we had to go out and buy an air filter as well when we were told that this would be included. I went back and checked our sale paperwork and it has free maintenance written on it.6. the technician tried to sell us a service plan when I said no Id need to discuss with my husband he told me to call my husband right then and there.the only good experience was with the guys who came to clean our ducts. they were very professional.if you use a# 1 air be prepared to chase them down for anything promised or purchased as they do not care once they have your money.
Starting with the sales rep Victoria and Juan the installer to date I would say the service has been excellent. We had AC on the downstairs unit this past evening. Juan is to install in upstairs unit this Monday (7/26/21) and I expect the same excellent results. TomThe install team consisting of Juan and Canyon finished the job yesterday the 26th and we are very pleased. These two work as a great TEAM. As noted previously excellent quality. The employee contacts have been very professional and courteous including the office personnel, sales and install crew. I would definitely recommend this company based upon quality, pricing and personal contact. Thanks Tom
Michael Schmidt and Kyiel, Kory did and outstanding job!!!! Very professional I am satisfied with this company!!! Everything was taken care of on my air conditioner system! I would highly recommend A #1 AIR!!
I want to thank A#1 Air for being True to their Name and coming back to replace the Ducts that needed replacing. I want to Thank the staff and everyone that took part in organizing the repairs. Thank You Kurt and Daniel for the Super Excellent hard work that You all provided. Super professional and Respectful ! These Men deserve a super raise from the company! You both are always welcome in My home.Thank You A # 1 air for making it right, You all are #1!!!
Just had a whole new HVAC system installed. I am more than happy with the product and excellent service that I received. The office staff kept me apprised of every arrival. I got a few other quotes. The prices were about the same across the board. However, A#1 did so much more than what was included in the other bids. A new platform was built, two carbon monoxide detectors were installed and more. The technicians were wonderful. They showed me how to work everything. They were respectful of my home and just extremely professional. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Service person Matt was very nice. He did not appear to be very experienced according to my equipment provider whom explained to Matt and me that the job was very simple and would take about an hour with only wire and protective cable ( running power to an overhead light 10 feet from the junction box). The quote was $850. The equipment provider thought the quote outrageous and so did I. Avoid this ripoff!
Leo showed up on time for my hvac annual maintenance, he was extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to clearly explain everything, and did an excellent job. I know he is extremely busy, but he still spent the necessary amount of time to make sure everything was completely taken care of. Thanks, Leo, A#1 Air is lucky to have an employee of your caliber representing their company.
A1 are very professional and polished, no doubt about it however their prices are insanely inflated. I had a quote for a 2 ton system, 14 seer that was close to $11k. Other quotes I got with additional perks like free maintenance was in the $7500-$8500 range, plus it was for higher efficiency of 16 seer. I signed up for their $39 special summer maintenance per unit as well to come out to check my two other cooling units. Guy was very professional and gave me some recommendations including needing to replace both capacitors. This looked accurate, however I was quoted $350 a piece. He did check to see if it could be cheaper and was able to bring it down some when I expressed concern at the cost but regardless it was still significantly higher than other companies. I was told that the units they use are “commercial” grade and have 5 year warranty. Which compared to unit prices online with the same warranty are in the $30-$60 range, granted that doesn’t include labor cost. Long story short, I would give them 5 stars on professionalism however given their exorbitant mark ups, I can’t do anything better than 1 star. Do yourself a favor and make sure to get multiple quotes before agreeing to something with any HVAC company, especially this one.
I called at 6:35 am wanting to make an appointment and was unsurprised when it rang and rang. However less than 15 minutes later they returned my call. Its relieving to see at least one company that understands that my AC wont wait until 8am to break. Unfortunately, I am outside their service area.
Stay away from A#1 air. They replaced my AC unit a year ago. They lie and tell you the 1st annual tuneup is “free” along with some sort of home inspection. They play some slick word games and it turns out the home inspection, which no one asked for, is free but the tuneup is $37.00. Very Slick.
Norberto Rodriguez is absolutely the most knowledgeable, helpful, and energetic technician I have EVER had!!!!! He stayed as long as we needed him to explain everything and got the price down below a previous quote. Norberto is so enthusiastic and you can tell he loves his job. What a refreshing pleasure to have someone take time to make sure we were taken care of. The technicians that came out to install were on time, worked hard (didnt even take a lunch break), got everything done in a timely manner, and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. What a GREAT company with GREAT employees. This has been an awesome experience and I would absolutely recommend them. Thank you Norberto!!!!
Texas summer, ac stopped blowing cold air. Reminder that if a company has enough money to buy advertising on most stations in the area that they overcharge. Charged 400 dollars to clean and repair. My advice, find an honest hvac repair company and never let them go. They don’t exist and definitely aren’t A#1. gave themA star because the air did work after they left. But I guess we’re selling the car.
While A#1 Air does quality work, they could use updates to their scheduling process. As a customer when you are given a 4 hour appointment window it would be nice if the company honored that appointment timeline. If the company technicians’s work load was too high for that window the appointment should have never been offered as an option to the customer.Majority of Customers have to plan their work day around these appointments, so by not honoring them really put extra stress on Customers. All I ask is you don’t overbook your staff and in return more happy customers.*Update, their customer support team did reach out and allow me to explain my experience. Rating will remain unchanged until improvements are experienced during next service call.
Excellent emergency response for AC repairs. Came home from work to hot house, called after 6pm. Responded by 9:45 pm, replaced capacitor on outside unit. (Saved us from the cost and inconvenience of going to hotel) Very satisfied with cost, professionalism, the technician Mr. V. Wood was such a pleasure to work with, he deserves credit for our satisfaction. Weve been with another service company for 35 years (has no after hour repairs), will be changing to A#1 Air for all future service, maintenance, and repairs.
I normally read reviews and focus on the negative comments to make my determination of the organizations commitment to service and customer satisfaction. When an organization exceeds my expectation I think its important to share. I called them after 10pm to report an issue with one of the units they installed and have serviced for 6 years. The technician arrived within a reasonable time (same evening), repaired the issue and most important honored the warranty that I purchased with the units 6 years ago. Thanks A#1 Air.
They installed a Green Air which is a UV light that super cleans the air as it comes out of my a/c system and goes into the house. They cleaned my grills, the vent covers, so they looked like new. I had recently purchased this home and I do not think the ducts and vents were cleaned in a long time. I am guessing 50 years from the looks of the grime and dirt here. I am very pleased and would only want David Leisure, Brandan and Freddie to return. They could not have been nicer and more professional. I totally recommend A 1 Air for future work. This company has hired great people. Thank you James and Sherry, you have hired some great employees! Love Brandon and Freddie
Steve Bustos was fast and effective. He had my a/c working in no time. Steve and everyone I spoke to was extremely courteous. A#1 Air is my new house service company. Thanks guys.
Jeff came to do several plumbing jobs from unclogging bathroom pipes to installing a faucet! He did a great job on all things! We feel lucky to have gotten Jeff because he is a professional who explained every thing he did and made us feel that the jobs he did were necessary and done to the best of his ability. He is a customer oriented person with a great personality!! (And he didn’t look old enough to be doing this for 17 yrs!!). Thanks Jeff & A1!👍Victoria Bean
This was a great customer service experience from start to finish. I even had a change of heart on getting my new system and called to cancel, and there was no judgement or persuasion. After more thought I decided to go ahead with my new system, and my appointment and prices were all still kept. And I cant compliment my salesman/tech Courtney Tate enough. He was the utmost professional with no judgement or pressure, absolute class act. Cant recommend A#1 enough. Thank you guys!
When they sold to us they were great, since customer service reps to the people in our home have been rude and unprofessional. Dont ask them any questions because they will say its you, your home, your roof, insulation.... never them... they are the epitome of not taking responsibility for anything. $13,000+ and I cant ask a question... I feel lied to and stolen from. My bills went from $100 a month in the hot summer to this year one of our most mild summers and Im paying over 200 a month.... and I cant even get 1 person in this company to treat us like paying customers.
Had them couple visits to fix our a/c unit. Initial visit technician said could not detect leak. He recommended cleaning up and refill freon, which cost near $4-500. I said yes if that fixes problem. Very next hour he left, a/c stopped working. We called again, next day same tech said some parts need to be replaced. They cost $5-600. We had no option to fix in texas summer.Again in a few hours, a/c is not working. We got mad and called them. Asked them to send senior technician. Senior tech almost immediately found the leak. They said it will cost $3500 to fix it(coil replacement) He even admitted first two services might have been unnecessary repair (which cost us over $1100)I asked them to refund their annual membership and at least labor portion of $1100 charge we paid for unnecessary repair - by not detecting leak.Customer service rep said he will talk to manager. Next day no response, another day no response for the follow up call.If anyone is looking for residential a/c repair, i would not recommend this company. It was very unprofessional feeling from repairs to their customer service. I understand a/c repair could be expensive, but you should compare price around unless you threw your hard earn money wasted like mine.I will be disputing on credit card charge, if they keep avoiding me another week.
I contacted A#1Air, because my A/C unit was leaking. I was informed by the Technician that I needed to replace the whole unit. He left me quote that was around $12,000. I decided that this was too pricey and got a second opinion. I was told by the new company that someone had disconnected the Blower Motor which caused the AC unit to Freeze up. The real problem was just a clog drip line. I would not recommend A#1Air in the future, because they sabotage my AC unit to get a sale.
They did a great job installing for an average price 4 years ago. Still runs good and effective. Just beware they only honor warranties when you subscribe to their annual service. This service can be rather pricey, even if nothing is wrong. But if you dont get have them out annually, (and they wont leave you alone when they call constantly) no warranty. Kind of a catch 22. Satisfied and this might be fine for many people, but will not use them next time when I need an install.
Quincy arrived in the morning to check the system and provide estimate initially but decided to have them replace the 18 yrs + old unit once he said they can do it on the same day and after agreeing to the price for a 4 Ton, 17 SEER system. At 1PM the installation guys of Oniel and Danny arrived and started laying out the protection for the flooring and they worked till 9PM to complete the job to ensure we comfortable that night with the new A/C working.Suggestion: It would be good business practice that someone should come the following day to double check the work and explain to homeowners how to operate the system efficiently. Also explain how often homeowners need to clean condensate drain trap/overflow switch to prevent clogging which could result to water damage. The Flexible ducting is somewhat unsatisfactory to me as I see sagging of the ducting system but have ordered material to add and ensuring straight airflow and lessen air resistance in the flex ducting.Overall, I am happy with the new 2-stage system and envision energy savings.
It took them almost 20 hours to come out on a service call, but once the tech got there, it was quick and easy and got us back up and running!
Jamal and Frenzyel were amazing. Very professional and explained everything so well. My husband and I are very grateful for their kindness and patience. Plus they fixed our air conditioner perfect!! Thank you so much
Not what the use to be scheduling department and dispatch are a joke. They now pre charge for the annual maintenance plan (never did that since 2014). Last summer they could never get me on the schedule I decided to leave they gave me a free year to come back so I did. Now this summer they asked me to reschedule this summers tune-up because they had urgent people with no ac. I did now they never called and just showed up while I was down the street and left and told me to reschedule. I love my system and the staff from when this was a good company. Service goes down each year and prices go up. Could have emailed if my phone really was not working. But funny thing is everyone else called my phone with no issue
They are very knowledgeable, professional and honest. Everytime they came out to fix my AC they find the problem and fix it. There is no guessing with these guys.. I am very satisfied with their work.
Ongoing and consistent communication for my visit from office headquarters. The real benefit for me was having Sam A. as our service technician. He has wonderful technical skill sets, however, the real key is his personality and customer-centric nature. His work quality was outstanding, but his care and concern for our well-being was most appreciated.
The technician Jamal came in for regular maintainence. My lower unit was not cooling as much and I mentioned to him. From that time he kept on doing all kinds of tinkering to my system talking a lot. He was there for almost 3 hrs and gave me a big fat bill to fix my system which was not even itemized and was hand written in this day and age.He kept on up selling and suggesting all kinds of stuff to me.As soon as he left I realized my other unit slap stopped working. I called them up with a complain but they said they cannot come until next day.
Called to set up appointment to get a price to have a unit replaced on a house I was purchasing. The young lady on the phone said they would not come out unless the owner was present. I guess they dont want the work.
We have bought 2 units from A#1, one three years ago and the other 2 years ago. The older unit quit cooling on Wednesday, called A#1 on Thursday, came out, looked at for about 5 minutes, walked back in and said the fan motor needed to be replaced. The cost was going to be over $900, this was for labor only, the actual part was covered under the warranty. I told him there was no way I could afford this, he called his manager and they brought it down to $750. I told him this was still too high, just for labor and he asked me to sign that I had refused the lower cost. Called another company, came out, looked at unit, saw a loose wire, and replaced it. Tested the fan motor and said it was fine. Cost was less than $25. Since then, today’s Saturday, your customer service has called, told them the story. Your service manager called but left me a message sayin the $750 was the absolute lowest price. I have have spent over $18000 with A#1 over the years with new units and other service work, You can be assured you will never get another penny from me.
***BUYER BEWARE*** these guys will rob you blind if you let them. Had an issue with a main board... Their price to replace the board $1,560 parts and labor. Tried to sell me on a replacement unit $4,500. When I told them no - price went down a $1,000. Kept trying to sell me on the annual maintenance plan. This after waiting until 6PM for them to show up after calling the day before.A quick google search shows the board costs $292.00. 2 local providers quoted the work for under $650... Again just plain robbery. You are paying double or triple the actual price. Total used car salesmen trying to take advantage of A/C being down and hot house. Dont do it.
Ive been a customer of A#1 for years and can truly say they meet and exceed ALL my expectations!! They value my Family as Great customers and offer us the best service prices! I recommend this company to anybody looking for a reliable HVAC Co. My service technician Samuel Andrei was AWESOME, he ensured we have everything needed to keep our new system running like new!Happy employees show up in their work! They follow strict safety guidelines while in your home, A Big Plus.
Had some water dripping from my HVAC unit, called A#1 Air out to repair it. Without removing any panels or doing a full inspection they determined that my entire HVAC unit needed to be replaced. I called another company for a second opinion and found that my evaporating coils were just a little dusty causing the drip (HVAC unit was completely fine and works with no issues again).Called A#1 Air back to explain the situation and request a refund and never heard back. There are many HVAC service provides out there, be careful who you pick!
Muhammad a. was very nice & helpful. He went right work & didnt wasteany time. Got everything taken care of. Thanks
Tech name Brisco came out to my home, and he was very polite. Had gloves and shoe covers on which doesnt matter to me but it did stand out and I appreciated it. He got right to work and explained everything to me in a way I could understand it. He told me about other options but not in a way that was a sales pitch. My air is now working fine and I am more informed on how to take care of my system, and what options I have. Thats all a customer can ask for.
If you want a system that will break down on you each summer then go through this A/C company. Since they have installed the system 3 years ago, every single summer after that I have had issues with the A/C. Each technician that they sent out to “fix” the problem has not fixed anything. This has been a terrible experience and I will be sure to let people know to never get a A/C system through this company.
Firstly I found the work crews professionalism and work ethic was good. They installed the two units quickly and efficiently. The setup for the install to getting financing for it, streamlined and hassle free. Now, the reason for my edit from Five Stars to Three; after waking up to a hot house this morning; I was able to schedule a technician to come out today to fix this issue promptly. And you are wondering why the two level drop; they installed both systems on the wrong breaker (simple mistakes happen I understand this, but install it correctly the first time). Execution is the reason for the drop.Yes I would still recommend their services and yes I would use them again, but now I know to trust but verify.
Knowledgeable fast service kept in touch with me to know when they are showing up second time using A#1 Air for service and will you use them again when needed
I gave 1 star only because they still answer calls. My original appointment is for them to come balance the air flow. So, one technician come and refuse to open/close the damper, he said just need to adjust the direction of the vent. It doesnt work. So, 2nd technician come and go adjust the damper. However, he broke the damper that controls the air blow to first floor and 2nd floor (zone system). Then he admit the mistake he made. So, another technician come and replace the damper. Now, the first floor is cooling and the 2nd floor is cooling as well. The damper is not working correctly, should be able to control the 1st floor and 2nd floor separately. I call in and they said the manager is gone for the day. It is a horrible experience I should say. And they have come multiple times not being able to fix.
Straight three options - there seems to be a leak. Nothing is touched.1. Band-aid repair costing between ~300-650. No warranty.2. Replace coil - ~$4k3. Replace complete system - ~$10k
Johnny on the spot when need your business...after thats all complet good luck...15 on a Daikin system, 1 year old ...goes out and they have us on a 2 day wait sch....you will get screwed on the maintenance check up, $75 for someone to spend 10 minutes in your home and say its all good.Make a better decision then these guys
Norbert came to fix our unit after hours. He was professional, informative and knowledgeable and fixed it in under 30 minutes. He also said the owners are always available and kind. Thank you Norbert.
Steve is an outstanding representative of A1! Great personality and will give you the vest deal around! I’m a fan for life!
They get you to schedule with $99 inspection and then get in your home and tell you if it is dirty enough they will charge you for $499. They say there is no way of knowing the total cost until they start cleaning. Then 30 minutes later you have a charge of $648 and a supposedly cleaned dryer vent to the roof! Seemed very high in price! Feel sick to my stomach..
A#1 Air Has always provided Excellent Service. Sam our Maintenance Technician was beyond courteous and very friendly. I truly would recommend A#1 Air to anyone. Response is important to our Family and they have always been ahead of us concerning follow up. Makes me feel like we do not have to think or worry.
I would not recommend this company. Their prices are outrageous and the quality of the work received was beyond bad. The technician left a mess in our home, didnt clean the vents which was the job we paid for, and installed the ac filter upside down. They say if you arent happy they will refund you, that is not at all true.
**CONSUMER BEWARE****CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT SUPERIOR AS ADVERTISED**THE ONLY REASON WHY I WENT WITH A#1 WAS BECAUSE OF THE REVIEWS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.HOWEVER, ONCE A#1 GETS YOUR MONEY, SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE GOES OUT THE WINDOW!WAS SPOKEN TO ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN A RUDE, CONDENSING, DISMISSIVE MATTER, AND EVEN WAS HANG UP ON WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ASK A QUESTION BY A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP.MY ISSUES HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED TO CUSTOMER RELATIONS. THE FEMALE STATED SHE WILL FORWARD MY COMPLAINT TO THE MANAGERS OF THE CSR, SO THEY CAN BE TRAINED NOT TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS IN THAT MATTER. SHE ALSO STATED, THAT MY COMPLAINT WILL BE GIVEN TO UPPER MANAGEMENT OF CUSTOMER RELATIONS TO SEE HOW THEY CAN MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR ME.CUSTOMER RELATIONS EVEN WANTED ME TO BE THE PROBLEM SOLVER FOR THEIR NON SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WANTED ME TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT FOR ME, EVEN WHEN I ASKED HER, WHAT SHE WOULD DO/WANT IF PLACED IN MY SHOES? SHE STATED, SHE HAS NEVER BEEN IN MY SHOES/POSITION, SO SHE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. FAIR ENOUGH.A#1 IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, IM PRETTY SURE WITH 30+ YEARS IN SERVICE YOU CAN FIGURE SOMETHING OUT!!
We have used A#1 for an entire system replacement back in 2013. Our compressor blew a few nights ago and we had it replaced. They have always been upfront and fair. They send our professionals that truly are respectful and helpful. I have referred family members who have had the same positive experience. Best service, hands down!
They do great work, but can be a bit pricy.Replaced our two ac units with them in 2017 for just over $10,000. Did amazing work, the units are awesome and great warranties. Though a capacitor died on our outside condenser unit this year, but we did have the power outages from the freeze this year, so it could be that. Which was replaced for free since it was under warranty. But nearly $600 for freeon? Kinda sus….
The plumber we dealt with is nothing short of a crook. Quoted us $900 off the top of his head to replace 2 outdoor faucets that dripped and made a groaning noise. Another plumber came out, pointed out the issue and had it fixed in less than 20 minutes by replacing a rubber seal. Didn’t even charge us due to the bad experience elsewhere, just asked we use their service first next time. My wife was the one who spoke to A1’s plumber, but it felt like he was trying to take advantage of her lack of knowledge regarding plumbing. Also, it is wildly inconvenient to have “open appointments” and to tell us you’ll be there sometime that day. A time range would at least help.A1 called me after we complained and said they would look into it, nothing has come of it since. Very unhappy.
I went on line to book services for duct cleaning services. Unable to do so... the service has a text option... it text me to put me on hold! Someone will be right with you at 12:30 and finally at 12:50 they call and hang up. I elected for text/online booking bc I was on a business call myself. I call them back to once again sit on hold. I ask about services/pricing/scheduling. They tell me that I need to let someone come out to give a quote for air duct cleaning...most ridiculous process every.... total waste of time.
My 4 year old AC stopped blowing cold air... I called and told them I am a disabled, elderly person with health issues and limited budget needing help. Yes, they came and spent almost 15 minutes looking in my ac, seeing a frog or gecko tripped the breaker, so I reset my breaker and it was fixed... to the tune of $230.00!!! I was unable to get necessary meds, and anything else for nearly 3 weeks... but my AC is working. My opinion is poor value and lack of compassion, especially in these days, for amount of money spent.
The only thing number 1 about this company is the price you pay. It was 100 degrees all last week and I was charged $909 dollars for a service charge, refrigerant, and condenser cleaning. I have learned my lesson as a new home buyer to get a second opinion on work. Another company came out after the long term solution was $5K. The other company charged a $39 service and redid the work by A#1 Air.Customer service just kept pushing me up the chain to no resolution. I just want everyone else to be aware of what happened to me. I feel like I over paid and they under delivered. Use a company that is on your side and looks out for you. Just my side of the story but looking at reviews I’m not alone.I guess I could of sweated it little longer and saved $900, lesson learned!
I have used A #1 Air for a decade for all my HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing needs. Over the years they have replaced a water heater, a toilet, installed a whole house surge protector & maintained & made small repairs on my heat pump. This time around, Chase, my HVAC Tech said a repair on my old heat pump probably would not last very long. He presented several options with corresponding prices & I chose one that best suited my needs. He did NOT try to sell me a bigger or more expensive heat pump than I needed to cool/heat a house with my square footage. The next morning, Installation Techs Hector, Frank & Arturo showed up at 8:45 with my new units. They laid tarps down on my floor and started taking out my old indoor & outdoor units and began installing the new ones. Despite the extreme heat of a Texas summer, they worked diligently and professionally and by 2:00ish, I was getting cool air in my house once again. Hector showed me where/how to change the air filter & how to use the new thermostat. Everything was cleaned up & hailed away, leaving me with my brand new Trane heat pump humming away cooling my house. I have never failed to be impressed by the knowledge, kindness and professionalism of each & every A #1 Air Tech that I’ve dealt with. I have never been disappointed with the jobs they’ve done.I highly recommend A #1 Air for all HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing needs,
Sam showed up on time and was able to fix my problem quickly. He was able to explain and give information that helped me understand what was wrong and what types of maintenance that I could do in the future.
Matt was amazing! Super professional and on time. I love that he explained everything that needed to be fixed in order to make sure I completely understood everything before agreeing to get the work done on my kitchen sink and water heater. Thanks Matt!
Ive been a customer of A#1 since replacing my HVAC 5 years ago and have faithfully had routine maintenance twice per year since. My fall service was done in December (hard to get it scheduled with my crazy work schedule). After a very thorough evaluation, the technician had suggestions that would improve the comfort of the house, and improve air quality. One of the work items that I had done was to replace my attic insulation. It was not cheap and my hope was to see a difference in heating cost. After an extended power outage (40 hours with an exterior temperature as low as 8 degrees), I can vouch for a more valuable benefit. When the power came back, my house was 45 degrees. Many of my neighbors said their homes were in the 30s. I think the improved insulation kept my house, my pipes safer. The process for all the work done involved multiple crews over several days but they were all professional, cleaned up after the work and make sure I knew when theyd be back to finish.
A#1 Air is a very reliable and trustworthy company! My service technician, Robert Ballard, is the most knowledgeable and courteous service technician I have ever encountered! Robert is an absolute asset to A#1 Air. It is very rare to have so much trust in a repair company; however, Robert is the difference maker. Thank you Robert for always taking care of my family!
Our tech, Alejandro did a fantastic job. He was upfront and went out of his way to ensure our new system was complete and in compliance. Great job!
The sales guy tried to get me to buy 3 units even though I only had on that was bad. Really frustrated me so I kicked him out and his manager called me back asking if he could come out. I bought 1 A/C unit from them. Did decent job at install, but some of the things that others included in their price were upsells (size of filter, float switch, and some other things I cant recall right now) with A#1 Air. So I question if they were truly the best value when I got bids. Also recently for service calls, they obviously dont have enough staff as I was just quoted (in May) for a summer tune up, the first date available is in mid-August. Really? I called the company that services the other 2 units in my house and they were here in less than a week. Last time I use A#1 Air.
Tech came out promptly. Said that a sequencer was bad and it would cost $300. Not a problem. That didn’t fix the issue. Then I was told that I had a faulty heat kit, and it would cost an additional $1200 to fix.Got a second opinion - heat kit was working perfectly - was told that the thermostat was faulty. $400 total fix. Got two second opinions to see what a fair price is to install a heat kit, both said $600 is a fair price give or take.Asked why the price was so high, was told that if I chose a different company that I would void all warranty on the system - a warranty that I did not and have never had.Still waiting for management to contact me.
O’Neil was very efficient and professional. I really appreciated his motivation to do a great install of a new AC.
I have gone through a lot of AC contractors and let me tell you, A#1Air is the best, Sam & Jamal were very professional! They arrived on time and immediately identified my issue. They made specific recommendations and performed all the repairs in just an hour. During and after the repair Jamal and Sam educated me on my system and how to maintain it properly going forward. These guys were awesome!I truly had an exceptional customer service experience with Sam & Jamal.Thank you for providing me with great service!!
You know I originally called to get a quote on air duct cleaning. When Brandon showed up he advised that air ducts were really clean and wasn’t necessary. However, he provided pictures of lack of insulation and suggested replacement. I asked about possibly second A/C unit and he suggested running a split damper scenario saving thousands of dollars. He could have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge and performed service not needed and suggested a second unit. Really pleased with my service with Brandon and the install team was amazing as well.
Heard their commercial on the radio so I gave them a call. My heat hasn’t been working for a few days. Not knowing how it works or if it’s unsafe or not, since it hasn’t been working I just left it off until someone could come out. Tech comes out on Saturday and as my luck would have it he turns it on to test it and it’s working just fine. Tech goes outside for a few minutes then comes back in and says the compressor is bad and needs replaced. Quote was $8,000 or another option is $14,000 for a whole new system install. My neighborhood was built in 1998 all homes have original systems outside, mine was updated 7yrs ago with a big high efficiency Lennox. I highly doubt I need a new system. I’m willing to bet money on it. Tech left and since then my heat has been on 24hrs a day at 73 degrees upstairs and downstairs and it’s worked perfectly. I don’t know why it didn’t last week but it’s been flawless so far. I figured the tech that came out was just trying to make a big sale. What prompted me to write this review is I got a text from the “assistant sales manager” saying they’re in my area with a crew with nothing to do and will give me a good deal on a complete new system install. That’s when I knew this place was a fraud. Instead of fixing stuff for a couple hundred dollars here and there, they make much more money with $14,000 full system replacements. They’ll just hit the jackpot on a poor soul that doesn’t know any better. Never ever will I use them again and everyone I talk to or meet will also know about this.
I got a great price, great service and a cool house.
These guys are all very knowledgeable and explain everything thoroughly. They are not just trying to pitch you something you dont need and they work with you on pricing/payments. Im very happy with their service and will continue to use them.
No transparency with pricing. They dont honor their service specials online. Make sure you go over pricing with dispatch before you confirm any appointments. Would not recommend. Over priced capacitors
David G was very professional and helpful. Explained repair process in great detail. Excellent service and value!
I had some work done a year ago by them with my outside unit and had a positive experience overall, so when I came home to a hot house I called them first. The tech came out and after a quick look decided my smart thermostat I installed was probably the issue and shouldnt have been working the last 5 months. He checked voltages, power, and wiring with my furnace and outside unit. He came to the conclusion that my control board was bad, and the second company I had come out confirmed that was the problem, so I cant complain about the actual diagnostic skill. He quoted me $600 before looking at his phone a minute and then saying how itd actually probably be around $1200. He gave me the contact of a supplier since i was handy to save me on the high cost quoted. He left the furnace as is, and I was unaware of him moving wires around on the thermostat.I contacted a friend out of town that is hvac and she found the board on Amazon but highly recommended having a pro install it as to not mess up something else. I called another highly reviewed company, Air Xperts, and they were able to come out the next day and confirmed that my board was bad and got to work trying to find my not very common board. The bottom line was $600 with the Air Xperts, and when the installer came and set it up, the thermostat didnt turn back on, even though he was already done for the day the previous tech came back just to help me figure out the issue, which was the a#1 tech moving the wires around on the thermostat.I was less than impressed with the service and quality this time around and doubt Ill ever use a#1 again. The tech apologized as he was walking out of the door for indirectly blaming my install of the smart thermostat for the issue, but with him muttering and repeating I dont know how you got this to work, you might have followed the directions but this shouldnt work, I have 15 years of experience, I dont need to see the install manual was demeaning, annoying, and left a bad taste in my mouth. My smart thermostat had worked without issue at my previous home for the last 2 years and this one 6 months. The install is fairly foolproof so that made it feel even more insulting. I try not to think my gender effected these comments and attitude, but I felt his demeanor was different when addressing my boyfriend who was present and also checked on him throughout his short visit.
Unfortunately they did not even attempt to contact Oncor for our rebate and we did not receive the (up to) $2800 that we could have benefited from on our purchase. We did appreciate all the individuals that installed our unit as they were professional and courteous.
Great work, would do again, fast and great prices.
I had an issue with my tech showing up and had the attitude of not wanting to do anything, to not wanting to give me the warranty, and every employee I talked to either said they would let a manager know so they can contact me with my issues and no calls till this date. I even emailed the owner Sherry a long complaint, got a call from customer service saying they would let Sherry or management know about it and see what they can do, you think i got a call or email back? NNNOOOO!!!!! I even am willing to give them another shot even though I found someone who will honor the warranty even though they didnt install my unit, but no call back or to offer at least what I paid to go somewhere else so I can use them again. This new guy I called instead of A1 moved so fast and hes got only 4 guys and 2 secretaries that he had all the warranty issues fixed and part with him within 2 hours. Installed everything that same day later on when he had time. A1 has a whole tons of people who could of got this done quick, but like I said everyone needed to notify a manager and manager was supposedly going to look into it and contact me. Its embarrassing that my new AC guys was able to do this job with no complain or excuse. And I paid him $380 when A1 I was supposed to pay $60. With the $380 it did suck to pay it but worth it cause I got everything fixed the same day. If not I would still be without AC till this day cause no one has stepped up from A1 Air to do anything or say anything. Thx A1. And Im still debating on whether to give them a chance if another issue arises but if I have to pay someone else more so I dont have any issues, this new AC guy said hell step up and gladly except my business. Thx again A1. Customer service is great and nice.
A1 Air is the best company in Texas. I had a couple different technicians from 2 other companies and none of them gave me the correct information. The first one actually told me that he fixed the problem. Well I have been sweltering in 98° in my house for a month. A1 Air came out the same day that I called. Quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem, and started the necessary repairs/replacement the next day. You cannot go wrong with A1 Air. The cost is very reasonable and Briscoe was very professional and knowledgeable. He noticed issues with my AC unit that the other two companies did not. I absolutely recommend A1 Air to anyone with AC issues. You cannot go wrong with this company. 💯 From the first call to Jeff Bindel, he was very professional and polite. He wasted no time getting someone out to diagnose the problem. Briscoe was right on schedule. He was there when he said he would be....no big time window and waiting. He was 🎯. I could tell that he had a genuine concern for my problem and it took him no time at all to figure it out. He made a couple of phone calls and got things underway. Stay tuned for my follow up review because I have 2 very polite technicians who came early 🌞 this morning to rectify my problem. God bless A1 Air.Julio and Tito just finished their work at my house. There arent enough words to express how pleased and impressed I am. They are so polite and thoughtful. I feel bad that I was too lazy to cook today. My house is finally cool and comfortable. A1 Air is a wonderful company with the most wonderfully amazing people working there. You can tell that they not only know what theyre doing, but they enjoy it...and that makes for quality work. Julio, Tito, Briscoe, Quincy, Jarrett - I appreciate each one of you and your hard work. I salute you. May God abundantly bless you all.
Jamal was great! Very nice and most importantly was extremely thorough. He showed me exactly what the root cause of the problem was. Great service!
Wanted to charge me $99 for an estimate that two other companies(Better Deal and Service 1 Air) gave me for free.
From the time I reached out online I was extremely impressed. Immediate response made me feel like a priority. Over the phone, Amy was polite and professional. When Brandon showed up 30 minutes later, he was considerate, professional, and well spoken. Not only did he get me an immediate quote for the repair I needed, but also laid out all my options with deeper repairs or even a full system replacement (mine is 20 years old and starting to have issues). Its nice to experience the company first hand and to confirm they are who they say they are!
We have had so many issues with units A1 has sold us and installed. They will sell you a faulty unit then charge you a service fee to fix it every time something goes bad.
They come to see why my heater wasn’t working! Told me it would cost $2000 to get it back working. My family has been in the cold using space heaters since 12/31. A family friend comes over and discovered it’s a $10 fuse unit is two years old and working fine now. Great service A#1 air 😂😂😂 Jordan C was the tech
My unit has been out 5 months and after the winter storm my panel wasnt pulling enough electricity to warm up the water heater (no hot water for showers). With A1 they let you make monthly payments since i couldnt pay for everything to get fixed. I also received a free water heater. Everyone i have spoke to that is employed at A1 has been very helpful and very courteous.
A year ago during a PM check of my unit, it was noted that my capacitor would need to be replaced soon. At the time it was working at an acceptable level. Tonight, it finally gave out and it was at 10:30pm on a Saturday night. Already armed with this information I called for service. Realizing that most service calls after hours would cost more, we signed up for the Maintenance plan which saved us a lot of money especially during the weekend and being so late at night. My technician was dispatched quickly and arrived on site with in the hour. We confirmed my capacitor was bad and they were able to get me back up quickly. The tech was very professional, already knew a lot about our neighborhood and the other units based on prior history. Even while it was completely pitch dark we also were able to get a check on the system after the capacitor was replaced to ensure it was operating at optimum efficiency. Thank you A#1 Air team for putting a great team out there to help people when needed no matter what time of day it is.
Randy was excellent! He was punctual and very precise about what was wrong and what needed to be repaired. Great job, we will call on him from now on.
I called A1 Air on Christmas Eve because my system wouldn’t heat. They got me on the schedule for a repair the same day because I’m a member of their service plan. The Tech, Logan, worked on my system for an hour and then said it was working. There was no charge either for the work or the service call. Logan was cheerful and helpful and even gave my son’s dog a treat. A great guy and one that makes me want to stay with A1 Air.
This is a very solid and honest company however they dropped the ball with me with my written estimate for a new condenser and also got them my neighbor who needed both heater and condenser..... I called several times and asked the operator on different occasions to please email my written estimate no luck! I also waited for Jeff Bindel to email the verbal numbers that we talked about and no luck. Ive always had a superb experience from their techs and they have come through for me on 3 occasions but this one time was costly because my AC was down since they assessed my condenser and told me it was down.Long story short my neighbor and I went to someone who wanted the JOB and it got done ASAP.
David L. was the technician who sold me on this company. He is outstanding! Professional, courteous, and polite.
David L. Provided Excellent Service for my AC tune up. He was very thorough, gave great advice on maintaining the AC and took proper safety precautions the entire appointment. Extremely happy with my service!
Peter is very professional, thorough, and responsive. Peter has considers customer satisfaction first
Fast and fair service, I will call them next time. Thanks guys!
Sam was my technician and was a godsend. He quickly diagnosed all the technical issues of my system, walked me through the diagnostic and gave me a lot of background to allow me to move forward with an informed decision. A1 Air has earned my business for life because of this service.
Jamal was exceptional. He was friendly, courteous, explained the issue and worked quickly to resolve it. Thanks so much for your hard work. Stay safe and well.
Nick S. was wonderful! He came out in a snow storm and stayed until he knew that our heater worked properly. So nice and professional!! Thank you again, Nick.
Great service from Sam and Michael. They did a thorough inspection of my heating system, informing me of what was performed and possible future repairs.Sam also anchored my attic tent and there is an noticeable difference this morning as the light draft in the hallway is gone. Both very professional and informative as has always been our experience with A #1 Air. Thank you Sam and Michael for giving us peace of mind that our heating system is in good shape for the winter.
After a very cold night and my furnace going out I called A#1 air. They sent Jamal out and he helped fix the issue and stayed until we got ahold of a sales team member that could ensure we’d be taken care of over the cold weekend. Great customer service from him and my comfort advisor Brandon W. was exceptional and thorough too.
