Before arriving, questions were asked to see if there was something that homeowner could fix, i.e. filter change, to see if service call was even necessary---very trustworthy and not out to make a fast buck. WOW! Experienced and top notch customer service!!! I have used Metrocrest AC for the last 20 years and this review is well overdue. I have never dealt with another service provider of any sort who has the total package like Dave with Metrocrest AC. I called him the first time in the dead heat of summertime in the middle of a 100+ degree week and he was able to squeeze me in last minute. He came out and replaced a motor capacitor for me on my outside unit after I had another company come out and tell me I needed a whole new unit and at the very least, a new fan motor. Dave saved me hundreds of dollars on that first trip and weve used him ever since.Here it is the dead heat of summer once again (20 years later) and Dave still showed up the same day and got us fixed up!! There are not many companies you can call where the owner is the one who shows up every time to work on your issues. Especially an owner that provides multiple options and detailed analysis of the problems without trying to up-sell you unnecessary equipment. Dave has provided heat and air conditioning maintenance and repair services for us since around 2007 at four different locations. He is prompt to take phone calls and respond to phone messages or texts. He is reliable, keeping his appointments and finishing the service calls. Daves professional demeanor is a plus. He is pleasant, to the point and communicates clearly. He knows how to solve problems. He doesnt do just the minimum to get by, and will point out other issues he discovers when servicing equipment. However, he is quick to tell you when you do not need to have services performed also. Most AC companies use a journeymen to do the work for the guy with the actual ac license. These journeymen could have 6 months to a few years of experience with no actual AC certification/ license. Dave has 35 years plus of experience and is the guy with the AC license that does all his own work. His prices are fair and expertise is far superior to any one else around.

Dave came out personally to estimate the cost of replacing my 35 year old Trane HVAC unit and duct work. My old unit was for the upstairs and needed to have a special order on the air handler in order to qualify for a 16 SEER rating. Dave kept me updated on the timing of that special order over a two week period. Once the equipment arrived, an appointment was set up and the efficient crew of 4 showed up and had a new Trane unit and duct work were installled in about 5 hours. Very satisfied with the work and Daves expertise. I have another unit for the downstairs, also a 35 year old Trane which Im hoping to get another season out of before replacing. Dave will get that call too! First time customer.

I recently called Dave, responded well and quickly but a total disappointment. He charged me 75$/pound for the 3 pounds of free on(225$ excluding taxes) and 100$ service charge (I guess, I cant complaint on service fee which is okay for a Sunday). Later I found out from another repair guy, usually they charge 30-40$ max for a pound of new free-on. ( I also saw it in amazon, 25lb tank is 125$, though I dont care for how less he bought) search for R410a-Refrigerant-ICELONG-original-Brand in Amazon.. 1) on day 1, On the initial diagnosis, he found free-on is less and added it, but he didnt care to check the upstairs. 2) Later I realized upstairs air flow is not appropriate. while ground floor AC is running 8 hours a day, upstairs AC run 15-20 hours/day with no rooms cooled. On day 2, he came over and said the outside condenser fans are not clean, and made me cleaned them. On day 3, came and said the air flow is not good, because am using the BEST Quality air filters and recommended to use a medium quality so that the air flow is better. 100% dissatisfied except that he is a resident from the same community, responded promptly and came over on a Sunday. I am choosing another AC repair technician after this expensive bill to fix my upstairs now

He nursed my original equipment furnace (1985) and my A/C from that time until now. He advised me years ago that the system would need to be replaced, but did not hard-sell me. This inspection cycle, Dave drew the line as there was a carbon monoxide leak.Dave gave me an excellent price on a higher capacity system (furnace/ac) and a NEST programmable thermostat.Dave, Remo and the crew arrived and a few hours later, they had completed the job. They were quiet and clean; leaving no evidence that they had even been here.If you want professional heating and a/c assistance and you dont want a stressful service call or installation, you will not regret working with Metrocrest Heating-A/C.
