Our family obtained the services of Wages and Sons Funeral Home of Gwinnett. We were attended by John Goddard. I cannot begin to express our gratitude for such wonderful, attentive and compassionate attention. John was very patient and accommodating. He helped us obtain a beautiful urn for the ashes. The prayer cards were lovely and when we needed more John, graciously and promptly provided additional cards. I had made an error on the death certificate and the ladies in the office kindly and quickly resolved the matter. We received such wonderful service at this beautiful funeral home. John Goddard and his staff treated us with so much kindness, compassion and efficiency during a very difficult time for our family.

My Mom passed away last week and all we wished for was to place her in great hands. John Goddard led and directed the entire service in a manner that left my entire family 100% at peace. He listened to our requests and helped us make the proper decisions. It was a true success.

A very hard journey made so much easier, thanks to John. Navigated us through tough decisions with professionalism and compassion. He did not try to talk us into things that we did not need or want. My husband passed away on June 11th. Everyone at Wages & Sons was so helpful and kind. They helped me through the whole process. We had the Memorial service in their chapel and the reception afterwards in their reception room. There were about 75 guests and the room accommodated everyone nicely. Wages supplied the tables and tablecloths and our family and friends brought in the food. Someone from Wages has even called me several times to see how Im doing and if they can help with anything. All the employees have treated me so kindly, like family. I highly recommend Wages & Sons.

Although the service and cremation went well, we ran into, to us, a big issue. The gold stud earrings that were supposed to be put on our mother were not on her and were nowhere to be found. When we brought it to the attention of our funeral director, Jenn, after the funeral, she was not responsive. I emailed her our concern, she never emailed back. When I called, she was always busy until I asked for someone who was in charge. Only then did she came to the phone. When she offered a full refund of the dressing fee, she assured me that she would get the office manager to mail out the refunded check. A week and a half later when I followed up, the check was never even cut yet. Ofcourse they offered to cut the check that day, and we picked it up, but the resolution of this issue took several weeks and multiple contacts that a mourning family should not have to deal with. It was very upsetting not only that our mother was missing the earrings, but how unprofessional and poorly Jenn and Wages and Sons handled this situation. I do not know if I would recommend this funeral home to anyone.

My grandfather recently passed from COVID-19 back in November. It was truly a difficult time. However, Marty and his colleagues were exceptionally helpful in facilitating the process of his funeral. They were very considerate and accommodating towards our Buddhist traditions and ceremonies as well as allowing us the space and time to hold our services. He was available every moment and quick with responding to calls and messages concerning the funeral process. My grandfathers casket was beautifully done and the burial ceremony itself was exceptional. The Do family is very appreciative and grateful for the services provided by Marty and his colleagues.

Our family has used Wages & Sons for several services over the years and we have always been very satisfied with their professional staff and attendants. They were very helpful explaining all of the options available to us and they were very patient and comforting during our time of loss. Marty made sure that everything was taken care of. Their facilities are beautiful and clean and second to none.

The only less-than-ideal thing that happened was that their livestreaming services were not working at the time of my sons service. However, they let us know well ahead of time so that we were able to set up a workaround. The facility was beautiful, my son looked beautiful and peaceful, and every employee we interacted with (especially John, our funeral director) was gracious, accommodating, and empathetic. Thank you so much for helping us through a horrible time.

I was disappointed to see some of the staff chuckling throughout the ceremony. One of the staff was casually smoking a cigarette while burying the deceased. Also, since Covid-19 is still rampaging in the world, two staff members weren’t wearing a mask. It was obvious to the family in mourning that the staff was silently judging the burial of their loved one. There are many complex rituals for a Vietnamese Buddhist funeral, but it’s all for the sake of the loved one to have a peaceful and well afterlife.

The entire Wages & Sons administration and staff displayed compassion and respect to my entire family. We were very pleased from the competent care of our loved one to the beautiful service. We personally felt the warmth and support during this difficult time. The attention to detail and professionalism was top notch.

Wages and Sons Funeral Home took great care of our loved one and my family during a very challenging time. Every staff member we had contact with was very informative and eager to answer our questions and calm our concerns. Every member was caring and showed compassion during the whole process; even going so far as to check up on us days after the service. Wages and Sons is a lovely building with a calming environment.

We were very happy with the services provided. My Mom wanted to be buried out of state and we didnt have a clue as to how to proceed. They stepped us through the process and even helped us determine if it was better to fly or drive the casket and body to her final resting spot and what services should be done at each location, then coordinated with other funeral home. After she passed and we notified Wages they sent out aprofessional team very quickly. They were very thoughtful of our feelings and let us spend as much time as we wanted with her. Then they prepared her for transport and moved her out of the facility quietly which was nice because it was a senior living facility. They were quick and we had the funeral in a different state 6 days after she left us.Even more impressive is they have followed up to check on us several times since her passing. My brother died unexpectedly and Wages & Sons went out of their way to take care of him and my family. Where do I begin? Roof repairs during a Sunday afternoon service? No clearly designated location/procedure for flower delivery? Did I mention workers banging on the roof during a funeral service? It’s a nice facility but the roof repairs were a terrible distraction and quite rude. Disappointed.

Very unprofessional people. My daughter had a stillborn and Gwinnett Medical told us that they work with this funeral home and that the do free service. I was willing to pay for the funeral expense. So my daughter delivered on Thursday, autopsy was done on Friday around noon. Hospital called to inform that autopsy was done and that they were going to call the funeral home to pick up baby. My daughter kept calling to check on the status and they kept saying that the cremation wasnt done. So I decided to call Sunday morning and spoke to the director and asked him why my granddaughter wasnt picked up from Gwinnett Medical yet and he told me that he was waiting to hear from the hospital. I told him that the baby was ready to be picked up and he then said well this is a courtesy we do for FREE and we will pick up whenever we have time. I told him I didnt care if it was free or not I was willing to pay and if not I was going to change funeral homes. He then told me well if you willing to pay you can go with whichever funeral home you like. I ended up changing funeral home right after I hung up and the other funeral home picked baby up within an hour. I rather go with TIM STEWART FUNERAL HOME than these heartless people.

I could not say enough great thinks about the staff and facilities at Wages & Sons. When my father passed away, neither I nor any of my immediate family had any experience with planning a funeral. Kent at Wages & Sons answered my call and walked me through the entire process with so much patience and sympathy. He told me he was on call all night and when we called at 1 am to tell them of my fathers passing, sure enough Kent was there to ease our worries in whatever way he could. They were quick and thorough and took over all arrangement with the hospital. We chose to do the service at this Lawrenceville location and Vince was extremely personable and responded to our last minute requests with amazing speed. The building here is BEAUTIFUL. The architecture is very grand and every statue and piece of decor is so unique and beautiful. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew we were giving my father the most beautiful service and that our decision in this location was a great last way to honor his life. I would recommend Wages & Sons to everyone. Their prices were fair, given how expensive funerals typically are, and most importantly, their staff handles their line of work with compassion and grace.

My husband passed away on July 6th of last year they were wonderful caring people when I had no idea or what direction to take my husband was only 51 and died suddenly they walked me through the hardest thing I have ever had to do and even after followed up with me they are a wonderful group of people and stay with you through the whole process and even a year later have reached out to see how I am if you have to go through this experience I would highly recommend them to take you through the process

Even when you are told to prepare, you are never really prepared for the pain and confusion that comes with losing someone you love. Tadd and the rest of the Wages family held my hand as well as that of the rest of my family as we walked through this painful experience. The ceremony was beautifully prepared, the team was there every step and took the very best care of my aunt. I loved her like my very own mother and I know she was smiling down throughout that weekend as we celebrated her life.Nothing takes away the pain of such a loss but having truly caring people to support organizing for a send off is key -- Found that at Wages.
