I found this company about a month ago through a Google search for HVAC repair for my parents. They were in the top 3 in our area so I shared the listing with my dad and he made the call. He had great service and a proper diagnosis (which alluded 2 other companies) and he was very pleased with the service.Fast-forward 3 weeks. We had a bad storm and ever since, my dishwasher kept tripping a breaker and a week later, another breaker on the panel kept tripping as well. At my dads insistence, I called Casteel, who coincidentally specialized in electrical problems too. I set an appointment request online on Monday night, and Osman arrived promptly at 8:45a Tuesday morning. I explained the problem and he knew what I was talking about immediately. He thoroughly explained the issue, showed me behind the panel to reinforce his explanation and provided a few service options. He was even patient enough to wait while I got in touch with my dad to verify the route I wanted to go. Once I confirmed the service, he and his partner got right to work and efficiently upgraded/replaced my panel and installed a new surge protector. He also explained the way it worked, and the warranty and replacement policy as well.The whole experience was quick and efficient and the technicians even wore masks and kept their distance while in the house. They were both super polite and I felt comfortable and confident in their work based on my parents experience and all of the great (verified) reviews on Google too. 10/10 recommend. Also HIGHLY recommend dealing with electrical issues sooner than later, because the burn/smoke damage behind the panel was scary to see.

Casteel sent the perfect service technician to our house to understand and then efficiently resolve our service issue. Their technician, Angel, has the perfect qualities for the work he does. First, he LISTENS to the customer, quickly and clearly understanding the customers problem. Second, with obvious years of experience in the field, he instinctively knew where to look for the solution. Third, he found the problem and efficiently fixed it.Good communication skills ( I mean LISTENING skills) are sometimes difficult to find in service technicians. Angel has these skills, in abundance. Coupled with his years of experience in the field, he may be the perfect service technician. If, in the future, we have a need for HVAC service, we will be calling Casteel and asking you to please send Angel.

Water heater failed and needed a replacement on the weekend. Service call was setup for Sunday morning. Got a replacement water heather installed that very morning. Service was amazing. The Technician Victor Fuentes did an excellent job installing the replacement heater. I recommend this company for any service they provide. I am a repeat customer with many of their offferings.

I have unfortunately had 6 of my AC/furnace systems installed by Casteel over the last few years and the service I have received this year has been exceptionally poor. If a customer like me can have poor experience with Casteel, then be very wary about the kind of service you will receive.Since the beginning of May when we had 3 new systems installed, I have had almost 10 service visits to address numerous issues. The first issue was when we had an entire zone of duct work collapse in our attic and it took them a week to come and fix that in the middle of the summer. Totally unacceptable. Second, I was not told until the install job was finished that they did not have all of the components to complete the job. I was told there would be zoning but I have had to wait months in order to receive the proper zoning sensors. If I had known initially then I would have looked elsewhere for different HVAC units. Third, I was lied to by the install crew and the install manager about work they did that I had to call and call to get them to complete. There are many more smaller issues as well stemming from poor quality installation. I have also had no luck getting a hold of a manager or a decision-maker to take any responsibility after dozens of calls.Please look to do business elsewhere than with a company that is fine telling you lies and continues to string you along for weeks and months with absolutely no sense of urgency or consideration of the customers time on top of poor quality installation work to boot.

They advertise they service for 24 hours. After I made my initial appointment, they called me to reschedule because “it was late in the evening for there technician.” The next morning, I received a call, they wanted to reschedule a second time saying “the job was to big for them.” It’s a simple unclogging of a toilet. I explained two toilets in my house were unusable and they had to come now as scheduled. Someone came in about 30 minutes of me hanging up the phone. The technician charged me $800 just to unclog a toilet. The entire time he was making comments about “this may be your septic tank” I explained it wasn’t. “This isn’t going to work” “you should reschedule and let us bring out a bigger machine” “I’m not sure about this” I got the feeling he just wanted to charge me more money for no reason. He finished snaking / unclogging me toilet. As of now, everything is working fine. However I am closing monitoring everything just in case I need to call them back. Also, I was told the technician would perform a diagnostic, he didn’t, he walked in my home and told me immediately what he can do and how much it would cost. Only based on what I told him. He never diagnosed anything. I wasn’t charged a diagnostic fee. But the $800 they charged me to unclog a toilet is more than enough.

Called because had no power on one wall in my living room. I was able to get an appointment the next day. They text you a link when the technician is on their way which allows you to track their drive and know when to put animals up. Art came out and spent two hours trying to solve my electrical puzzle and finally restored power in my living room. He was thoughtful, friendly and very knowledgeable. I will recommend him to all my family and friends!

Osman and his apprentice first asked what all we needed help with, gave cost for each and then repaired thermostat and light switch. Very easy and all has worked perfectly since. I have all costs now so that I can call for more services. Two friends had recommended him after we had a lot of trouble finding an electrician who would come out or even return our calls.

Your technician, Josh Witting, was exceptional. He was very attentive to all my concerns and questions. He addressed the issues methodically and explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He seemed highly skilled and knowledgeable about his trade and I found my interaction with him pleasant and very educational. He finished up his visit by helping me to set up my systems for optimal performance and advised me on what to look out for and how to proceed if I have any further issues or questions surrounding his visit. Our main water line to the house burst somewhere under the driveway! Joshua was able to fix the line by installing a complete new line under the driveway and through (under) the garage to the water shut off in the closet in the back of the garage without breaking the concrete! We were very happy with his service. Hes a hard worker and very friendly. Id highly recommend him and CASTEEL.

Overall the response to check our system, recommend a replacement and do the install was quick and efficient. Our issues started when the installer was trying to set up the thermostat. The salesperson had told us that them new thermostat, both thermostats are Honeywell, would be compatible with a previously installed thermostat on a separate system and that they could be managed and programmed from a single app. So far neither Casteel or Honeywell have been able assist in making this work. We now have two thermostats and two separate apps and the new thermostat cannot be programmed from the app. Try to verify what the sales person tells you before agreeing to the install.Still trying to get someone to respond about the thermostat issues. No one returns my calls.When no one at Casteel returned my calls I called Honeywell, thermostat manufacturer. After three calls to Honeywell both thermostats are working and accessible from the Honeywell app.

I had my upstairs AC unit go out last Thursday and called Casteel. They sent Rudy out who reviewed our current unit ( 17 years old) and offered a number of options, everything from a temp fix for a few hundred dollars to a new system. While I wasnt looking for a new system, I knew that at 17 years old, it wasnt something that had to be done. Rudy took the time to explain the entire system and options for each price point based on the size of the AC unit. He recommended a unit that was less costly than their biggest residential units because he said we didnt need it. He recommended a unit that was built in the USA and came with a 10 year parts and Labor warranty. No other company we talked to has that type of warranty. He set up a time to replace the unit as quickly as I wanted and kept me informed of what was happening the entire time. The service techs were trustworthy, efficient and polite. They installed the unit in an attic that had to be 120 and didnt complain at all. They made sure all the items were up to code and installed correctly. They didnt nickel and dime me for all the little extras which was really nice. I cant recommend these guys enough. I know that will have to replace the main level AC unit in the next 6-18 months (I hope it holds on longer), however when I do, I know exactly who to call, my man Rudy.

Great service! Got everything completed efficiently. Had problems with a breaker getting tripped, a ceiling fan issue and installing an additional dryer outlet and all that was taken care of. Arrived as scheduled within the 4 hour window. Only hiccup was scheduling. Somehow got phone number completely wrong so waited around the first day for 4 hours for service that never came. Customer service did nothing other than say, “Oops. Sorry.” Fortunately, technician and work made up for that. Will be using Casteel again in the future if other electrical problems arise.

Joe Nolan was my service tech. He was prompt, professional & knowledgeable. My issue was furnace doors werent secure so A/C wont work. Soon as doors were secure unit came on. I only had to pay the $89 dispatch fee. Thx Joe for being honest and not trying to upsale me on a new unit as soon as you got out of your truck.

Glenn Voigt was my consultant and was absolutely spectacular from start to finish. He was on time, explained every detail and answered every question I asked. Over the next 2 days I got other quotes to compare and contacted Glenn again to compare and contrast as well as to discuss differences. He was more than willing to review and discuss and was easily the deciding factor on why I chose Casteel over the others even thought the overall price was significantly higher. His guidance and description (with no pushy selling) greatly increased my faith in the system and installation process and he was even able to walk me through getting setup with appropriate financing. I had issues getting someone out during after hours after smelling a gas leak. After waiting for the after hours person, when they could not make it here, I did receive good instruction on how to turn my gas off, thank you. The technician that came the next day, I believe his name was Deon, was awesome. Deon let me know exactly what the issue was and corrected it in a timely manner. He was what a technician should be. Earlier this year I referred Casteel to my friend Carol, who had a complete system installed and was very pleased. I will continue to use Casteel and recommend to others in the future. Thank you

Chris Pruitt was excellent. I appreciate the care he took with my old air conditioning unit. He was not here to sale anything but he wanted to make sure my unit worked well and my unit is working well. He checked everything. He was wonderful. I have concerns during these times but Chris Pruitt was careful. He followed all the CDC guidelines. His focus was the job at hand and he did a great job. My AC is blowing hot air. I called Casteel because Ive used them for other issue and normally they are great. The technician came out told me I need a new compressor and that it would be under the manufacturer warranty. He then told me that all I would be responsible for is the labor. He quoted me $1544.00 and and said that it would take 2 weeks to get the part. I called another company and they are getting the part in 24 hours and is charging 500.00.

Do not let these people in your home for anything. The repairman came to do a simple tune up but tried to up sell me on my furnace and ac unit. He wouldnt perform the tun up because I didnt conform. He was never clear about what services he felt were needed. Never again

We called after the A/C unit would not come on. $7500 later after they said my old condenser outside was shot and the whole system needed replacing. After almost 2 days of installation they went to turn on the new system and it would not work. It turned out to be a short in the wire going to condenser and after finding it, the unit came on. Then they denied that happened but I am not stupid. Do not let these people repair anything or they will upsell to a new unit.

Our AC went out on Thursday in the house we recently bought. The seller provided a home warranty, but under the warranty they were not going to be able to get anyone out for a couple of days. Since my elderly parents live with us, and since I have heart failure, we decided to get someone out sooner. Technician came out and replaced coolant. That was a chunk of change out of our pocket since we were going outside the home warranty. He leaves, and 15 minutes later, the system is only blowing hot air. Call them back - tecnician comes back and says the fan is hot - we need to replace the capacitor, which he does, for another chunk of change out of pocket. Takes his equipment to the car, comes back to check the fan, and already it has stopped. He says that the unit is old and needs to be replaced. We decided that if we have to replace, we will absolutely do it through the home warranty. Home warranty tech comes out this morning - checks everything - and says that the capacitor that was put in was more than double the size it needed to be. Which means that it was forcing the fan motor to overheat. Wont use them ever again!

Called 4 companies to provide estimates to replace my HVAC system. Casteel was able to come out the same day. Zabed was the sales person and he was professional and knowledgeable. He listed to my concerns/reasons for the need to upgrade my system. He explained and showed me where some changes would need to be made. Price is in line with what I thought. I paid for the HVAC diagnostic visit and was told at that time I also needed a plumber. We arranged for their plumber to come the next day at no charge for a diagnostic. They came the next day to give an estimate and charged my son (who was home at the time) a fee. This was not the agreement. When I called back for a refund, Jamie was rude and short with me. She told me she would have their billing department call me back and I am still waiting. I text the customer service chat line to have a supervisor contact me. I am still waiting. They also did not leave my AC unit like it originally was. The cover was off and wires were hanging down. Very sloppy and untrustworthy.

Part IIKeith came out to review options with us on how to redesign our system bc everything about it for our house was old, damaged, and inefficient. He was magnificent, super friendly, loved up on all our pets while he talked with us about what could be done to address each of our issues. He stayed with us for over a couple hours to make sure we understood everything and had the information we needed to make the right choices for our home and family - as first time home owners, that was all very valuable to us. So today were getting the new system installed, and Ill probably have another review to add later.Part IIIThe installation crew was phenomenal. I really cant praise them enough - Travis, Ansoumana, Linka (Matt), and Brandon worked so very hard, were constantly checking in with how the process was going, and you could tell they are a crew that works together frequently bc you could hear the camaraderie and support they have for each other all day long. They explained what they were doing, what they found, how to operate our new system, and thanked us over and over again for choosing their company to invite into our home and help us. I mean, the professionalism and friendliness after 12 hours spent in an attic on a late-summer day was just mind-boggling - I feel that most people would just be grumbly, tired and ready to go by that point (understandable) whether you understood how to work the new thermostat or not. Even though Ansoumana was the lead for the group for the day, each of them took time to explain various parts of the system as they each seemed to have different strengths in how to describe a feature. While I hope not to need any more HVAC installing in the future, I absolutely would want this group back at any point. Our house hasnt been the same temperature on the upper and lower floors since weve lived here, and our upper level bedroom has never been touched by any air circulation - - last night was the first night in our house that we slept so comfortably and could actually feel the air coming through into the room. It made us wake up smiling and I actually said this makes me like our house now... like, its a whole new house!

We all liked Casteel much more than the initial plumber - Gabe seemed genuinely interested in fixing the issue. He communicated well and was professionally mannered (dress and overall demeanor). Noel came to do an initial inspection after my home warranty company sent out someone who was very inexperienced and wanted to charge me over 1600 to fix my HVAC unit. After Noel did his inspection and found out the real reason why my unit wasn’t working as well as several other things. My husband and I decided to get a new unit. Noel was so great. he actually explaining what was wrong with pictures and videos. Once we told Noel, we wanted a new unit, he called the office and we were setup up with an appointment to have someone come out with prices that afternoon... Wow... Rudy comes gives us a break down on what Casteel offers, what units would fit us, and a detailed price breakdown. After, some conversations, we decided to get 2 units since our other one was also in bad shape (Thanks Noel for the info). Rudy was early, knowledge, kind and overall gave us great service in the buying process. The next day, Robbie comes at 7am on time with Kainon, Tresean, Nathaniel and they installed both units, setup my thermostat, make sure my house stays clean. Just awesome job, they were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient. Overall awesome service. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our a/c and heating system died about a week and a half ago. We spent over $6500 to have a new system installed in our home. The workers spent all day installing the new system. They left a mess behind and broke one of my favorite paintings in my home. Two days later our eco bee thermostat that has been working for five years died. They had to replace the transformer on a brand new system. We had to spend another $150 on a new eco bee thermostat. Now today, when it’s 40 degrees outside, the system is only blowing cold air. The heat is no longer working correctly. This is a brand new system and they can’t get it to work correctly. I’m considering asking for a full refund and going through another company to have our system properly installed. Very disappointed.UPDATE: APRIL 3RD: Still sitting in a freezing cold house in the middle of the night with my two young children. A brand new system is not working correctly! An installation manager and a tech came to our house yesterday and installed a third new thermostat. They said there is nothing wrong with the system and it is working fine. Clearly this is not the case! The heat will go on for a while and then will stop blowing warm air. The current temperature in my house is 63 degrees. My children are getting sick from being in an ice cold house. I am going to stay at a hotel until these incompetent people replace the lemon system that they installed in my house. Considering hiring a lawyer!

This winter my 3 year old furnace intermittently failed to blow hot air despite the thermostat saying Heating. I have been paying Casteel to do semiannual maintenance since the system was installed but that did not prevent this problem. I had a service technician come to the house twice for this issue but they failed to find the cause because I had rebooted the thermostat and it had eventually started working on its own. It finally failed for good and they had to order a gas valve which took 5 days. We spent those 5 days in a 58 degree house with space heaters in 1 room. Every time I would call to check status on the part order, they would transfer me to Dispatch where Id hold for around 10 minutes before getting a full voicemail box. They eventually got the furnace fixed but it was a frustrating customer service experience: maintenance not preventing the problem, multiple service visits without being able to diagnose the problem, a lot of phone call frustration, and then waiting in a cold house for 5 days for the part.Update 03/29/21: Their service manager Terri called me to apologize and gave me a 50% credit for the cost of the repair as well as paying for a maintenance plan. Everybody has a bad day and maybe I hit theirs but I really appreciate their efforts to make it right. Thank you Terri.

Phillip was fantastic. He came out to give us a quote and options and was very fair balanced when we asked about competitors and other brands. Very professional and honest. Jacob and TJ were our technicians to install the new unit and they were excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable. Everything looks and works great. They left no mess behind. The guy who came before the installation to set up appointment was very friendly, knowledgeable and explained everything we needed to know. Had Casteel come out to look at a gas furnace that was not putting out heat. Turns out the unit had cracks that actually was making it unsafe to run. Not great news, but better than finding out when your house catches fire. Provided digital photos showing everything that was found, and provided options for system replacement.

The service technician (Chris) was very knowledgeable. He explained the issues he found with my heating/cooling system— and there were several to be honest. He simply confirmed the problems I knew were already in existence. He did not haggle me into buying additional services- he provided his recommendations and that was that. I will be looking to them to service my system going forward. I would most certainly refer Casteel 1000 times over to family and friends!

They charged me $1100 to replace a valve in an old heater and never changed my bathroom faucet and want to charge me an additional $59 just to come back out today to take a look plus additional installation fee. Can you imagine ? A job that should have cost $300 . Robbers. Don’t do business there

They listened, were responsive, courteous, honest, put in the effort to find an uncommon part, had it overnighted, and installed the next day at a very fair and competitive price. Had two different uses of this company, on two different occasions, with two different technicians. Both the replacement project (water heater and adding an expansion tank - Shaun), and the repair project (re-piping the main water inlet from the city, with replacement of PRV and main shut-off valve - Fred), as well as the technicians, were top quality - very courteous and professional. Stay AWAY from this company. They only want to sell you a new unit. 3 visits to 2 properties and each time I was told I needed a new unit ASAP. Second opinion only needed minor routine maintenance and units work fine. Tech Chris is very aggressive with his selling tactics. Raymond is more shuttle but very deceiving with his assessment.

The crew arrived on time. They made sure to use drop cloths to protect my floors and stairs. The installers were friendly and I could tell they were working hard. The installation of the furnace looks good. Now the negatives: No one informed me that the A/C and coil that I agreed to purchase was not available so I was given a heat pump and different model coil. No one explained the price difference or provided me with an updated invoice. Do both systems really cost the exact same price? I highly doubt it. I have no way of knowing if the equipment that I received was of equal or greater value to the system that I agreed to purchase. Someone needs to reach out to me about this as soon as possible. Also, I gave the installer a poor communication score because he never explained that my unit would not completely sit on the existing concrete padding. Part of the unit is on the pad and the other side is on concrete blocks. It doesnt look good and if I had known then maybe I could have voiced my concerns. I get that it had to be up to code, but it should also look good. Also, communication within the organization is not consistent. I called on the day of the installation once I recognized that the model numbers were different. I asked to be contacted about it and no one reached out to me. Not a good customer service experience. I had my reservations about Casteel because I recently had a tune up done and the tech left my home without connecting the blower motor wire and then proceeded to tell me that he was on another job and had to go home afterwards because his knee hurt. He also told me that the system was freezing up so I shouldnt have it on at all. It was working fine before he arrived, and him leaving the blower wire off caused it to freeze during his observations. The second tech arrived and immediately found the issue. No more freezing up.
