Major props and a big thank you to Garber Auto! My son has my old Volvo at KU, and it wouldnt start or even shift out of park. I call the Volvo dealership here in OP and they tell me to put it on a flatbed and bring it to them so they can check it out and determine whats wrong. I dont know how many hundreds of dollars that wouldve cost. I called Garber and provided the same info. They told me the battery is likely almost completely dead. The guy pretty much told me I could just do it myself and save the time and cost. He was right! When professional service really is needed, Ill definitely bring it to Garber.

Had a great experience here. Customer service was very friendly and accommodating. I got my truck in there for an oil change, check engine light and a leak and they took me out to the shop to show me that my water pump was leaking. They were very honest about everything!They didn’t try to upsell me on changing out filters or anything else. It was a very pleasant experience.

Im not a native but rather a transplant living here for work purposes, so I dont know the area or people well. However, I highly recommend Garber Automotive to anyone who has any type of car issue. They are upfront, professional, honest and priced reasonably. They have a very friendly staff who treats you with respect, in that they talk at you and explain the issue. They also have a comfortable waiting area. I own a 2015 Dodge Ram Bighorn pickup and the work they have done for me as been above and beyond. They really deserve 10-stars!!

I wont take my car anywhere else! I love that they have a rewards program for oil changes (buy 5 get your next one free) and Paige is always so helpful and keeps me company while Im waiting. They always get me in and out quickly. I really cant say enough good things about this place ❤️

Had some issues with my transmission and he fixed some parts but it still didn’t solve my issue. However he was nice enough to credit me some money to repair the whole transmission. However when I called to see if he was still willing to credit me I never got a call back after calling numerous times.

I had my vehicle towed there. They said they couldnt get to it until the following Thursday, so I was pleasantly surprised when they called me with a diagnosis one day early. They fixed the problem at a reasonable price and I am back on the road again! Definitely recommend.

I called 4-5 auto shops before I called Garber Auto about getting a hitch installed on my SUV which I needed done that day. All the other places quoted me absurd prices and didn’t have availability for days. Garber immediately quoted me about half the price as the other guys and had a spot for me in a few hours time. They had 2 guys working on my car together and it took almost half the time that I was expecting it to take. It was a fair price and they were super friendly. Highly recommend!

Everyone was very nice. Unfortunately, when I got my oil changed they were going to charge me 40 extra dollars for the oil my car required. I felt this was unfair, since I could pick the same oil up from Wal-Mart for 5 bucks a quart. They charged me 280$ for only transmission and oil change.. I expected a better price for the services. They did good work on my vehicle as far as I can tell and the staff were kind and welcoming.

Ive always done my own work on vehicles, and have always been very skeptical of the quality and trustworthiness of a shop. I brought my truck in with a problem I didnt have the time to get to the bottom of and they very promptly not only gave me answers, but worked with me on getting it fixed without costing an arm and a leg. Quality work, excellent prices, and stellar customer service. They had it ready at 9 am the day of pickup and even went above and beyond airing up my tires and topping off all my fluids. Truly an excellent shop and the one I will be taking my vehicles to as long as Im in Lawrence.

Im extremely happy with Garber! I took my truck here to get fixed after a bad experience at another mechanic. The other mechanic couldnt figure out what was wrong with my truck when I brought it in but wanted to charge an astronomical amount to replace the struts and shocks (which they claimed were all completely shot). I politely told them to F off and contacted Garber about putting the quick struts and shocks on that I purchased elsewhere. They were extremely friendly and helpful and told me to bring the truck in.After I brought it in, I got a call the next day asking why I wanted to replace the shocks and struts because they didnt see anything wrong with them. I told them what the other shop said and they said they didnt see any problems that would warrant them to be replaced right away. They did inform me that the FL hub bearing was completely shot (which I specifically asked the other shop twice if they checked cause that made sense for the issue I was having) and offered to get the part and fix that. They were extremely fast and thorough and their prices were really, really fair!They have so much integrity and thats highly respectable, especially since it would have been so easy to take a few hundred from me. Even though theyre completely across town from where we live, theyll be the only shop our family takes our vehicles to.

You will not find a better shop for your vehicle repair needs anywhere. Service was amazing. Fast, honest and accurate diagnosis and turn around on the repairs I needed for my pick up. I’ve used Garber for years now and I can honestly say I have never had an issue or bad experience. Paige is always happy and helpful and Micah is down right awesome. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else.

I hardly ever go online just to write positive reviews but for Gerber I will make an exception. They told me it would take 4 days and cost $400 to fix my car (the cables that opened the hood were broken, and they needed to order new ones). I got a call THE NEXT DAY the part had come in and they had already fixed it, and it cost $100 less than predicted! You guys are amazing, far better than any of the dealerships in town!! Will definitely be back.

Amazing service!!! I have had them work on 3 of my cars and they have been honest every time and very well priced. I usually don’t have time to fix it myself so I have them figure out what I already know and fix it. I do not trust anyone else with my vehicles. Will definitely keep going back.

Made an appointment in advance and they replaced my timing belt/water pump within one day. They noticed another belt was about worn out and replaced that for me too for my safety. First time here and am pleased with the hassle free process that it was. Not too bad of a price as well for a repair that I was dreading because it is always an expensive one.

In my opinion Garber is the best honest option for Lawrence mechanics. Its the place for that mechanic you just want to stop by and get an opinion. Fast and solid work.

They always take good care of you and the service is prompty. I recently had to have an alternator changed, they had the part received and installed in a couple of hours.Highly recommended.

I had to have the alternator replaced on my Ford Focus. Due to an odd configuration, the axle needed to be removed and while they were removing it, they stripped a bolt and had to replace the axle. Garber did this at no extra cost, despite the fact that it took two extra hours. Because of the honesty of Garber, I am now a loyal customer! They will be getting all of my business from oil changes on up. Thank you Garber Automotive!

These guys are great! They seem like a Mom & Pop operation. Mechanics always do great work and only fix what needs fixing. These guys arent going to try to gank you for things you dont need (cabin air filters, for example) and always charge a fair price for their work and have always completed mine at the promised time.

This shop always takes care of whatever mechanical needs I have! They always listen to what I need and no question is a stupid one! I highly recommend them!

They know all cars and dont try to sell you what you dont need. There is so much peace of mind when you find an auto mechanic you can trust. We are customers for life!

I have had my vehicles worked on by Garber Automotive ever since they opened. Unfortunately, their quality of work has diminished to unacceptable. I had them put in a radiator and hoses and they couldnt even tighten the hose clamps all the way. The car has been leaking fluid ever since the work got done. So I took it back to them and couldnt get somebody to look at until four days later I could of scheduled an appointment. Now they have so much business they could care less about their quality of work or when they get it done.

Always reputable friendly and well worth the money and time.

Nicest receptionist ever, extremely fair prices, they work with anyone. A true home grown business. I have never been disappointed with the quality of work or experience I have had with Garber.

I am very torn with this review because the people seemed very nice and competent. Though I had my leaf springs replaced and was estimated 127 dollars labor. Do to a worker at O’Reilly auto parts I brought the wrong u bolts. When I showed up to the shop my once bill of 127 dollars was now 370. This jump in price was based on the bolts having to be custom made and overnighted. It was disappointing to not be called for verification on a price jump this big. It was also disappointing doing a google search and finding tons of websites selling the needed u bolt kits for 20-50 dollars. I can not imagine that anyone working at the shop would go this route with a family member or their personal vehicles. But being a customer I guess you are just a source of income. I am not saying this is a bad shop this is just my personal experience.

Went in do you have a wheel bearing replaced. A job that should only take an hour ended up taking four hours. Then telling me that the problem was with my transmission and I needed it replaced. After taking my vehicle to two transmission specialist they said there was nothing wrong with my transmission that it was my other wheel bearing that was needing to be replaced.

Sold me bad tires, then when I tried to get service records (tried 3 separate times) so I could deal with the manufacturer, they never sent me the information. My suspicion is garber didnt send anything because they knew they were at fault for not checking on the tires when I sleep then to. These people may be nice, but they are either incompetent or scam artists. Stay away!

There are plenty of shops in Lawrence but Ill ONLY go to Garber because of the owners (Micah Garber) very honest and friendly approach with his customers and how it is obviously being adopted by every person that works at the shop. I know for a fact that my vehicles will be diagnosed right and they will try to keep the expenses in mind.

My son brought his car in today for potential brake problems. They looked at it right away. Called my husband with their diagnosis. They said nothing wrong with brakes and the sound he may be hearing is the power steering pump when he turns the steering wheel too far. All is good with the car. NO CHARGE! They called my husband and explained it all to him as we requested. My son is a student at KU and we instructed him to have them call Dad before any repairs were done. Very impressed with this business.

Reiterating another recent review about rudeness, I made an appointment for Thursday and planned to just drop it off before they opened. I ended up having to cancel, so when I called Wednesday afternoon to do so I was met with an attitude that actually my appointment was today (Wednesday) and I had missed it. Since I know theres no way I could have gone without a car that day (existing appointments), I was floored by her adamant response that I was wrong. Glad to be giving my money to someone else.

My daughter was driving from chicago to lawrence Oct 2014 and was stranded late at night in missouri. Car was towed to Garber. We were expecting the worst but we received a call right away from Garber to inform us it had simply ran out of gas. They put gas in and worked like a charm! We were completely at their mercy! They are an honest group and I have peace of mind knowing any/all of my daughters car needs will be well looked after! Thank you! Ann

Good service options and they treat you like family. A little pricey at times though.

First of all, they are always busy! Also, If the problem that you have (a light being on) does not appear while they are working on it, they simply ignore it! When they called me, I asked them to check something else for me, and apparently the car was out of the garage, so I was told that I have to wait 5 more days to have that checked! The last, but not least, compared to other shops in town, they are really expensive!I am done with this place!

Micah, Garber Automotive Inc. comes through once again. Today I was stranded at the Kwik Shop with a dead battery at 5:50 p.m. (10 min) before Garber closes at 6:00 p.m. I called desperate for help. As always Micah shows up within 10 minutes to jump start my battery. Now what do I do I ask Micah? He grabs his phone calls our friendly neighborhood OReilly store which is across the street (lucky me). He gets off the phone with a big smile on his face and says, get yourself across the street and they will be happy to install a new battery. Yippee I say and Im home before 6:30. Now how do you top that for service. The answer is you dont !!! When you need auto repair get yourself down to Garber Automotive. The staff is always ready and willing to help. And dont forget about Kao from OReillys for finishing the good deed.
