These guys are not on the same page, the one who took my phone call said it wouldnt be an issue to work on my truck the next day after explaining the issue with my transmission. Once I showed up at opening the person who was there refuse to work on my transmission because I had an upgraded torque converter All I wanted was to solenoids swapped out its a simple one-hour job, Im l down here working and dont have the time or placed to do it and he refused to take my vehicle. He said simply put they will not work on any transmission unless it is 100% stock even though the one I spoke to on the phone said it would not be a problem.
Vince and he team are experts at what they do. They went through hell with my extended warranty company, Olive, and still remained positive, helpful, and still got the job done. A couple weeks later my car began leaking, due to a separate problem, and they took care of me in no time. Thank you to Vince, my Chevrolet Malibu and I thank you 🙏

This place is not trustful at all. I went there to check what was wrong with my car, I had a minor noise on my car after driving long ways on FWY, but my car was fine to be driving in the city. They kept my car to check on the problem, and tell call me later to go get the car. When I got there to get my car, it was completely broke. I totally lost my car., I could not drive anywhere from there anymore. This place is not trustful at all!!! Be careful going in there.

I am contemplating bringing my 2012 Honda SUV to your AMCO facility after the dealership in Gardena has failed twice to fix my transmission. However after reading the mixture of responses here I am not sure they would be any better. I am impressed that the owner responds to almost all the comments but think he might consider having someone edit them before sending them. Sort of like our president....

This is my fourth time visiting this AAMCO and Ive been consistently impressed with the quality of service, speed, and professionalism. This time I was just in for another oil change and they saw that one of the CV boots was torn pretty bad. Im bad with cars and had a bad experience with a mechanic a couple years ago that made me have a hard time trusting other mechanics. I appreciate how the staff here shows me the problem. They walked me under the car, pointed out the tear in the boot, and I could clearly see how it contrasted with the good boot on the other side. They didnt try to scare me into getting a new one. I read some forums online while they were doing the work and confirmed that the work really was necessary (especially for the road trip Im doing leaving for on Wednesday!). They were able to go pick up the parts and do the work quickly. Im very satisfied with their service once again!!

Took my car to get it service with them. Picked up my vehicle few days later. Inspected my vehicle before I drove off with it, notice my front tow hook cover was popped off. Reported it to the manager, he sent couple of guys to go look for it and they found it on the street. Reason it was on the street is because they park your car on the streets overnight and probably over the weekend as well. They said they would replace it. Kept calling about my front bumper cover, 4 weeks later still waiting for a front tow hook bumper cover.
Stick shift line broke, they ran diagnostics and gave me a really good deal. Military Discount. And great reference to an enterprise rental car. I cant be more any appreciative of their service. They were very informative and helpful.Definitely the place to go if you need a hand. Great services. Couldnt thank them enough for their work.
Stay clear of this place, especially Women. The Manager, Vincent, is a real jerk. Took my car in for check engine light and they totally ripped me off. They took pictures while they were supposedly repairing my car, but it was not my car. Drove my car less than 5 miles after picking it up from again supposedly being repaired, and the check engine light came back on. I took it back and the manager refused to fix it or give me my money back. LADIES Beware!!!! Go somewhere else. This place deserves a zero rating.
Had my Check Engine light on for a while and finally decided to check it out. Took my 96 Corolla here and was helped by Jaime and Vince, very friendly and professional. Took less than 10 minutes and they told me there wasnt any problems with it, even showing me the steps they took to confirm what they just told me.Would highly recommend coming here.
I brought my car in a few months ago because my check engine light was on. They have a deal going that they will check that light for free. They then drove me to work while they tested my car. They did have to run a diagnostic test but did not charge me for it (would have been $150). In the end, they did the repair quickly and the total cost was around $200 for fixing a leak in my gas line and a new gas cap. I have definitely seen a difference in the way my car functions. Before, the sensor on the gas pump would always shut off as if the tank was full if I wasnt pushing it into the car. Now, however, I do not need to do that, I am guessing it has to do with the leak that they fixed. My only issue with them was communication the day the car was being fixed. I was at work and I had to call them on the few 10 minute breaks I got because they had not called me with any information. I had to find out if I could pick the car up on my lunch break. It all worked out in the end but communication could definitely be improved.They also offered me a free oil change and just brought it in again this past month to have that done. I made an appointment and actually missed it. I came in the next day after calling to ask if it was ok, and they got me in and out in about 20 minutes. Staff is very nice.

This place is terrible! (Traditional have to give a star but wouldnt give any if I could). You call them and make an appointment for a two hour procedure. Block out your work schedule for it and bring it in, and they tell you that its actually going to take an entire day! An entire day?! To simply run a diagnostic test that I was told would only take two hours?! No need to make an appointment, as it wont be kept anyway. If you have an entire day (or two) to waste, go for it. But I would recommend just going to a mom and pop auto shop!
Good place to go to.. Automobile repair is a difficult business. Staff professional, careful, sensible, polite and facilities open for customer to feel at ease in with coffee and WiFi. I take 4 cars there. I recommend. Be sure to talk with Vince before youre about to smog your car. Weve been coming in since early 2012. Israel, Steve, Jamie are great.

I was confused after reading the posting in the office that they will provide a written estimate with description of any issues regarding your vehicle. This not the case, I didn’t even receive a written quote. All information regarding suggested work on my vehicle was all verbal, along with pricing. That is very questionable.
I brought my 2002 ford explorer with transmission issue for fixing,the manager gave me a discount and paid only 2,600$. but none of the problems where fix. been coming back there for a month now and they havent fixed it yet. now its on their shop again theyll remove the transmission to do it all over again.(i got the car back now and so far none of the issue where present i only got to drive the car for a few miles because i need to travel to vegas. when i get back to LA ill use the car more. if all is smooth with the transmission ill give this specific AAMCO location a 5star rating.and i really appreciate the customer service and concern RANI has given to me.recommended for your all transmission work!

I used AAMCO for the first time several months ago. I was getting ready to leave on a trip and my clutch ate itself at the worst possible time. Since moving to LA two years ago I had not had luck finding a reliable shop, and I just scrambled to find anything with any sort of brand name recognition, and cause I was in a tight spot I would of been content with pretty much anything.But these guys went WAY above my expectations. It was after hours (and on a Saturday) when I broke down, so all of this was handled over the phone. In fact, I didnt even meet anyone in the shop until I went to pick my car up. But they fixed everything I needed and nothing I didnt, they had it done by that Monday, they did it with a friendly tone, they did it for a very reasonable price, and they did it without me checking in or breathing down their back. I have in the past- and notably in LA- worked with shops that need you constantly calling for them to keep your car a priority, but even with a steady stream of cars in their lot that is not the case at AAMCO. They helped me out of a really stressful situation instead of exploiting the fact that I was relying on them. Its a huge stress relief to know that while Im living here I have a shop I can trust and feel confidant sending others to.
I had the Best experience with the team at Aamco on Melrose in Los Angeles.I took my 1994 Honda Accord with over 230,000 miles on it to Aamco on Melrose. I had a problem that most other mechanics I talked to had never heard of: The horn would go off when I pressed on the brake.This was not the only issue I had with my car, The shifter wouldnt move out of park and the brake lights were also not working.The manager quickly put my mind at ease when he said their specialty was fixing cars on their last leg; like mine.They called me the next day and said they fixed the car and replaced the part, and not only that but they also did a free diagnostics check and told me there were some other issues I should be aware of and gave me their quote.I thanked them and took my car.I have never had such a great feeling leaving a mechanic before. Once I have enough to do the repairs they suggested I will definitely take my car back to Aamco Transmissions.Big Thanks to the the Aamco on Melrose team!!!

Horrible! My car came out worse than it went in, multiple times!! Every time it went in there, it came back with something else BROKEN! Why was the starter broken, after the car was in your shop?Youre right Frank! It is upsetting to get such horrible work for such expensive charges!

I recently got a transmission installed in a g35 from this location. They gave me an awesome deal on a transmission and my car is running better than before. I also needed my car back sooner than it was expected to be done, so the guys got it done 2 days earlier Than I was suppose to have it. I recommend this aamco to anyone who likes good customer service and likes there car to be serviced properly.

OMG being that I am a single female going to a auto-shop, you get scared of being taken advantage due to the fact not knowing nothing about cars. I usually take my car to dealer however Carmax refer me to Vince. I dont know if Vince felt the fear in me or worry on my face, however he assured me I will be taken care of, treated me as if I was his child. Vince went over beyond, replace my transmission, at 1st i was only going to get 1 year warranty, Vince made sure I was given 2 years.
My mom brought her car here to have her transmission repaired. At first she was dissatisfied due to pricing and other issues but the guys at Aamco tried their best to make her happy. She requested to have her deposit returned so she could go somewhere cheaper but they said it was nonrefundable. They had parts shipped from the east coast so that the price was more affordable and she was happy. They did the work, we picked up the car but the transmission still had problems shifting gears. So we took it back and now it runs fine. They noticed that she needed engine mounts. For the inconvenience they offered to put them on for free.
Three days after moving to Los Angeles from across the county my car started acting up so I took it to AAMCO and Im so glad I chose this place over any other. AAMCO diagnosed the problem on the first day and repaired everything by closing the next day. Vince is a really nice guy and was super helpful talking me through my car issues (right axle & lower control axle) and everyone at AAMCO was friendly and professional and I would bring my car back for any problem in the future. Thanks AAMCO!

Initially, I brought my car in for the engine light on thing. To be honest, I spent a lot of money there, including, but not limited to tune up ( I have a turbo and that made it expensive); oxygen sensors, timing belt, and a few other things. My gripe was that when I left, the car was running poorly. The bottom line is that Vince finally made good on his guarantee to find the problem, and fix properly, the problem that should have been repaired initially. I cannot speak for his staff, one way or the other, but Vince is s standup guy, and if for only this reason, one would appreciate his honesty and his word.

These guys are great! I came in a few months ago because my Car (2001 Hyundai Elantra) had a shake, especially at high speeds. They quickly diagnosed that the problem was broken bearings and fixed it. My car drives so much smoother now! They also threw in a free oil change! When I went and got the free oil change, they apologized that it took longer than they were expecting and gave me another free oil change (I thought they were just busy)! Now Im back for my second free oil change and theyre also replacing a headlight for free! Professional, courteous, and good at what they do, this AAMCO has been awesome! Im glad to have found them after feeling sketched out by some of the other mechanics near USC!

Recently, my Service Engine Soon light came on in my Nissan Versa 2009. I just bought the car from a used car dealership and was worried I was going to be down and out on my luck. I called AAMCO because it was the closest repair shop to my workplace. Eric told me I could bring it in and they can take a look at it. He diagnosed my car for free and helped me out with the cars warranty. All I have to say is that I was pleasantly surprised with their customer care and usually dont get this kind of service from auto repair shops.
We have had a great experience so far. Vince was very accommodating and explained everything clearly. We have a ‘07 Mini Cooper s automatic with 60,000 miles. The dealer wanted over $9k (approx value of the car) to replace the transmission with a 1yr warranty. Aamco charged us less than half that, and gave us a (3) year, 36,000mi warranty. The work was done in less than a week as promised and the car is running great as of November 2017. Thanks to Vince and everyone at Aamco. We were seriously considering selling the car as everyone was saying it was a los cause.

I took my Volvo S70 to an auto shop in Los Feliz who told me I needed a new transmission that would cost me 2k. I called AAMCO to get the free diagnostic they offer and found out it wasnt my transmission at all but my cylinders. They fixed it for a great price and my car is running like new. Im very lucky they were there to help or else I would of payed for a new transmission I didnt need.
This is my closest oil change option near my residence. Boy am I glad its these guys. I usually use hyundai dealerships for oil changes for my 2016 hyundai tucson but I was strapped for time so I used these guys.Not only did they complete my oil change in less than 30 minutes for a reasonable price but the mechanic Israel helped me buffer out a pretty long paint scratch on my front bumper!Vince runs a honest business that you can trust. I will be returning for my next oil change without a doubt!Thanks guys

This is my second review for Aamco and I have to say, I still absolutely love the service. The new location is in a prime spot right off the 10 freeway. I recently visited to make sure my car was in mint condition for holidays. As always, they take extra care with my car and make me feel as though Ive stopped in to visit old friends. I feel incredibly safe knowing their prognosis is in the best interest of the costumer. I am not one to review, but when they go above and beyond, I believe its only right to thank them. Stay away from this place! stopped by few days ago because i had a leak, they checked and told me i had to replace the whole part, their invoice was $800. I left and went somewhere else, the other guy told me i just had to replace the cap because it was broken. the part cost me $35.Thats too bad to see some people called professional are always trying to get more money instead of having customers that trust them.
I had a wonderful time dealing with the crew over at Aamco. They quoted me fine and helped me understand the problem every step of the way. That being said, I returned home with my vehicle, supposedly problem free. 15 minute drive home, easy ride on non busy streets. Park my car in my private parking lot overnight, didnt use my car at all after I returned home from the Aamco. Today, turns out I now have a flat tire..... I would love to give this establishment more stars if the warranty is honored but for now I have no other reason to believe that my tire went flat other than while it was being worked on at Aamco.EDIT: Got the tire fixed and they offered me a complementary oil change when I next need it. Am very appreciative. 5 stars.

Ive been here twice, despite living on the opposite side of town and I dont care to look for a new autoshop because these guys are the best.They have been upfront about the costs of repairs and explained everything thoroughly in ways that make sense to a non car guy such as myself.Both times I took my car in, my car was in terrible condition and both times ive gotten it back it has felt almost brand new. I had the Best experience with the team at Aamco on Melrose in Los Angeles.My 2000 Daewoo, with hard to find parts, was having 2 issues. The engine was misfiring and the transmission was slipping. After recieving a free diagnosis, the team at Aamco were very thorough with describing what was going on with my car. They were extremely helpful with finding the exact cause of these 2 issues. The team fixed these 2 issues in a very timely manner and were able to keep the price down.There were a few minor issues with the car as well and the team went out of their way to make sure my car was in tip-top shape. For example, one of the brakelights was out and they fixed it.The level of professionalism at Aamco is suberb. The team was friendly, knowledgable and able to understand my needs, situation and budget.I am very thankful and grateful to have found this mechanic shop.Thank you Aamco - Los Angeles on Melrose.

BEWARE! !!! aamco guys charged me for new transmission but they just replace the parts in the transmission I can prove that. I had had marked my old transmission and I see the same one now. I drove my car 10000 miles,and I had a transmission problem again.I found it out they are cheaters.
I took my car to this place to do a transmission test because my transmission is been acting up but, not happy with the result the guy just basically told me the my transmission was bad but, he did not show any type document from the test with make me think did he really did a run a test on my car very disappointment .
$2000 just for labor...? Never coming back. They wont give you a price until they open your transmission and then if you want to live and take your car somewhere else you end up paying $900 just for that.
I can only say to stay away from these crooks! :(

OK if I could give a Nero star I would this place dose bad workmans ship I took my 84 Chevy blazer to these people to have my transmission repaired it took two and half weeks to get truck back so it was parked there property all this time when I picked up my blazer I have paid $3500+ to ha e it repaired took blazer home that night found that the transmission was leaking everywhere and slips when driving it then I come to find out that all my property was stolen out of it so I lost all my plumbing tools and my mechanic tools and everything else out of my blazer I call them to explain what happened the first thing they said were not thieves so I ask to see the camera they tell thete camera guy isnt around so I now lost $2500.00 of my plumbing trade and mechanic tools and other stuff so now Im going to consult my lawyer and on top of all this my blazer is back there for the 3rd time in two day and Im wasting money on users and rental cars Im On disability at the moment so money is very tight I need this resolved asap please
They charged me 3000 dollars and the transmission did not fix it well
