Hiro Sensei runs an amazing dojo. It’s a complete package, wrapping Shotokan karate traditions and character with fitness, sport, community, fun, sweat (so. much. sweat), and so much more. My 5-yo tried it out and LOVED it from the start and joyfully attends 3-4 times a week. My husband and I have trained in the distant past, and watching her made us jittery in our chairs wanting to get at it again. So I’ve been going 5 nights a week! Combining this sport and art that I love with a sensible calorie-deficit, it’s actually felt easy for me to drop 10 of my pandemic pounds since starting a couple of months ago, and my trail runs are faster and easier since starting karate again! This is an athletic full-body workout as well as great stimulation for the mind.If you’re a beginner, try it. If you’ve trained before and are looking to revive your martial artist soul, try it. If you have a child who might be interested, let them try it. All of the Sensei are outstanding, and this dojo is outstanding! Can’t go wrong with Hiro Karate!
I’m a 52-year-old black belt, been training a long time with some of the best Shotokan instructors around the world. I moved to Las Vegas recently. My daughter was ready to start learning Karate at age 5 so I enrolled her. The instructors are excellent. I feel so lucky to have found another world-class dojo. After watching my daughter train with the kids I was inspired to put on my gi and join the senior class. The bright clean dojo has good synthetic floor mats. Training is a balanced mix of kata, kihon, kumite, pad work and ground work with specialist classes. The dojo is welcoming with an inspiring training atmosphere. Highly recommended.
I think it’s a true privilege to send our son Doga to Hiro Karate. It first seemed like an ordinary karate school from outside. After seeing pages of Olympic gold medals record of Mr Horoshi, we signed up for a year and the best activity to this date we found. Our son quit from tennis, soccer, piano lessons but still eager to continue for the karate as day 1.I can assure you that this place not only the best spot to learn karate in Las Vegas, maybe the best in the country. This family owned business is super friendly, very professional and yet very personable.Recommended.
Great environment for learning young or old theres a class for everyone! The instructor is very experienced and knowledgeable and is able to not only remember everyones name but give instruction or additional corrections individually even with a sizable class.
Professional staff and amazing facilities! Can’t wait to come over and train again with Sensei Hiroshi and all his students 💪🏾
Walking through the doors of Hiro Karate is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only is Hiro a fantastic karate teacher, but he also has extensive knowledge of strength and conditioning. Everyone I met during my time in the dojo was extremely friendly, knowledgable and accepting. It didnt take long for me to feel right at home among the rest of the class. Unfortunately I had to move away from Las Vegas, but if/when Im ever back in town, you can find me on the mats at Hiro Karate. If youre on the fence or feeling nervous to try your first class, go try it, you wont regret it.
Great traditional Karate gym, from beginner to advanced!
Our family has been with Hiro Karate for ten years now, beginning with our oldest of three children, and it has been a wonderful experience. Sensei Hiroshi is an excellent teacher that shows a true dedication to his students learning and growth each day. He is a very knowledgeable teacher and it shows in his daily lesson plans for the students. Hiro Karate fosters a welcoming atmosphere from beginning students to seasoned competitors. Physical conditioning, attitude, hard work, and respect are among the values that are reinforced with our children when they train at the dojo. We are so grateful for the training and mentorship that our children have received and look forward to many more years with Hiro Karate.
Sensei Hiroshi has been teaching Karate for over 30 years, and is the instructor for all of his classes, from the 5 year old to the adults. It has been rewarding watching how far my 5 year old daughter has come in just one month. For myself, it was the first time back in a Dojo in ten years! I feel right at home, and love the intensity of the workouts and how great I feel getting my endurance, strength and flexibility back.I highly recommend Hiro Karate if you are looking for a safe place for your kids to learn respect and get exercise during the week. He offers a free class to check it out and see if it’s a good fit for your family!
Great environment! Classes are fun and Hiroshi Allen really welcomed us and made us feel comfortable. Clean and safe environment - I will be back!
My 4yo son trains here and he absolutely love it!!! He used to be shy and he would get scare easily, this classes have helped him a ton! His teacher is great sensei trinity is awesome!!!
Great Instructors. The Senseis are so patient with the kids. They not only teach them Karate, the teach them life skills.
My boys have been with Hirokarate for 2 years now and love it. The sports conditioning, training and discipline are outstanding! Highly recommend for kids, teen and adults!
My son moved from Seattle after being a karate student for 12 years and national championship 5x times because of the quality of instruction and attention to detail provided Sensei Alan.
Master Hiroshi has literally transformed my little girls over all attitude. In other sports she is better behaved now, at home she is better behaved and more than anything she loves his karate class. Kudos To Hiro Karate for running a great karate school the kids simply love.
Sensei Hiroshi is the best. Before I found this karate class I was researching to find a good authentic karate class for my daughter. I went to couple of other karate classes and found all of them so rush to sign the contract with them.finally I came a cross with Sensei Hiroshi and I realized how genuine he is and how professional he is. If you want to find a genuine authentic Japanese karate I highly recommend Hiro karate.
Great 10/10 I just wish we could get beat up a little more. To prepare for fights? right?
The best teacher in LasVegas I highly recommend!
The BEST place for learning, exercising and developing teamwork. My young son was introverted and unsure of himself until he began training here. Hiro Karate has helped him become a self-confident, caring young man.The training not only teaches karate, but many lessons young kids need to prosper in life. Confidence, empathy and teamwork are but a few attributes they learn. All while exercising and having fun.Not only is it good for children and teens, its awesome for adults as well. After seeing how well my son has developed, I began training with him. It has drawn us closer together and given us a hobby we both enjoy. Its also brought us together, with other members of the dojo, as a large, extended family. There are many levels to this sport. You can enjoy it as a hobby or try your hand at the occasional domestic competition or, better yet, enjoy it at an international level. You can do any or all, and have a great time! The best part is experiencing it all with an awesome extended family and a great sensei (teacher).Sensei Hiroshis qualifications are stupendous! He was a member of our US National Karate team for many years. Hes available to teach your child, yourself, or both of you at whatever level you want. There is no place and no one better qualified or capable than Hiroshi Allen!
When my gym closed down in late 2017, I was not sure what I was going to do. Being born with Cerebral Palsy, it is imperative that I stay physically active lest my muscles submit to atrophy. I laid at home for three months - which meant that the ten-plus years I put into strength training and fifteen years of constant physical therapy were being wasted.Since the age of nine, I have always been interested in the martial arts. When I moved to Vegas in 1995, my cousins took up TKD, and passed on some of their knowledge to me. I took up TKD from 2005-2006, and honestly, it wasnt what I was looking for. The Grandmaster had it in his mind that he was going to help me walk, instead of teaching me the art of TKD. I left in 2006, disappointed....Forgive the tangent...After three months of laying around and getting tight, I told my Gramma that I wanted to take up karate. She was all for it, provided that I find a dojo and pay for sessions on my own. She would support my decision. The next morning, I found Hiro Karate online, intent on taking the private classes, as I was afraid of falling behind. That was on a Tuesday - by Saturday, we drove down to the dojo ready to sign up.As Gramma was getting my wheelchair out of the trunk, we came across the father of two of the students that the sensei was teaching. He told her this: If youre grandson is interested in learning karate, he wont find a better instructor than this sensei. Hes the best around. When we walked into the dojo itself, Sensei Hiro took us into his office. I told him that I have always wanted to take karate, but was worried that because of my physical limitations that I would not be able to participate. He looked me right in the eye and said that in one year, I would be doing competitions. In the last year and a half, I have become a Silver Medalist in Paralympic Kata (2018), and I am currently pursuing a BLUE BELT ranking. I have lost weight and gained muscle. The muscles and ligaments that were once tight or atrophied are now completely straight - most notably in my left arm, hands, and fingers. I can actually KICK with my legs (front, sweep and crescent kicks) from a seated position. My reflexes and reaction times are much faster than I ever dreamed possible. On top of all of this, my mental and emotional states have improved. I am no longer as anxious or depressed as I once was, because I do not feel left out. I am a part of something. I am part of a family, and the friends I have made are supportive and compassionate. The sensei is beyond patient with me. In fact, he pushes me to not only learn the kata, but also the history and philosophy of each kata that I have learned (currently on Heian Yondan). When it comes to the drills and exercises, Sensei does not exclude me from the hard work, but encourages and challenges me to keep up with the higher ranks. During my first class as a white belt, he noticed that some of the students were pulling their punches and not actually hitting me. He stopped the whole class and told them: DONT INSULT HIM! KICK HIM IN THE FACE! Now, all the students know to come at me as hard as they can, because it doesnt benefit either party if one side pulls their hits. All in all, you cannot imagine what karate has done for a young man like me who was once an outcast because of my disability. The students are great and the sensei is wonderful. He makes the class and concepts easy to understand and he takes an interest in each student as an individual and a martial artist - teaching them in accordance to how they are able to learn. Regardless of age or ability, Sensei Hiro has the ability to include everyone into his martial arts family, giving us all the chance to grow and mature in both the honor and tradition of karate. If you are looking for a place to learn about karate - and more importantly life - Hiro Karate is the place to go. Of this, I am absolutely sure.#committoit
