My child attended this facility for 3 weeks and at first it was very good. They then put a young girl by the name of Sophie to teach the younger kids class. She was rude, nasty, impatient, unprofessional and disrespectful to the children during the class. She scared and bullied my child and as a parent this is unacceptable. I chose this program for my child to build confidence, not to be belittled and disrespected. When you have someone with a superior attitude, who belittles your children as she did, you lose all respect for the facility. If you’re looking to place your child in a martial arts program, I highly recommend you find another facility with a professional staff who can properly teach without destroying your child’s confidence. In response to the owners reply: This review was not an effort to discredit your facility. It was a review based on personal experience. Your response clearly shows that you choose to discredit our experience and as an owner you dont take responsibility for the people you put in charge. Your response clearly shows your disregard for the awful experience of a child that pays to be in your program. This is unprofessional and is a big problem. When you allow immature arrogant students to teach instead of trained professionals you will have this type of review. Again I will say if you want a professional establishment I suggest you find another facility.
We love this dojo. Everyone involved is dedicated and professional as well as truly concerned with the needs of each individual. The safety protocol in place during this time especially is exceptional! The kids love all the senseis. Like a big family.
I really like this place for my 2 sons. Sensei Dave teaches kids great technics of Martial Arts but also he teaches kids a manner, respect etc... I am really lucky that I found the Shoshinkan. I recommend anyone who wants their kid s are in a good hand. The location is the same plaza of McDonald’s and CVS.
My son has been going to Shoshinkan for the last year and a half and he loves going. Sensei Dave is great with his students and the kids all seem to enjoy it. We have even joined them for a judo tournament in California which was a great experience for my son. I would definitely recommend to give them a chance and try them out.
My grand daughter is currently attending this dojo. The instructors are great especially with younger kids. Definitely recommend this dojo for new students or experienced students. Multiple disciplines makes the dojo a very good choice for anyone wanting a true martial Arts experience
I am so happy we found this dojo. After being with ATA for 7 years my son was bored to tears. He is now challenged both physically and mentally every week at Shoshinkan and we couldnt be more pleased. The price is cheaper every month and the caliber of instruction is far superior to what he was getting before. I would recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a better martial arts experience, in fact I have .
This is one of the best dojo’s I have taken kids to. They love it! The instructors are amazing and they teach the art and techniques. I’m glad I found this place.
I walked into Shoshinkan Aikido while in Las Vegas for work. Having run my own Aikido Dojo in Florida I knew exactly what to look for. I have to say that the instructors and staff at Shoshinkan Aikido have it. They are well prepared to answer your questions and friendly. I was welcomed to the dojo as if I had been a member for years. I truly feel like I am in “My Dojo” all the way across the country. I highly recommend Shoshinkan Aikido for your martial arts needs, they offer Aikido (U.S.A.F. Member dojo), Judo (U.S.J.A. Member Dojo), and Karate. Great Kids’ programs and Adults as well. Come join us on the tatami.
My 15 year old takes classes here, and what he is learning is excellent. The teacher is clear in his instructions, which has lead to my son making rapid progress. This art form (Aikido) is unique, as it focuses less on an attack and more on safer ways to redirect the opponents motion. My son is getting healthier, losing weight, gaining skills and becoming more confident. They definitely earned 5 stars!
I’ve always struggled to find a place for my son ever since he’s been diagnosed with ADHD. Most of the after school activities I enrolled him in, instructors got so impatient and frustrated with him. He started at Shoshinkan when he was 5. Three years of patience, guidance and training from the awesome teachers in this school has done marvels. It even inspired both my husband and I to join in. I can’t recommend this place enough!
Awesome place, friendly people and knowledgeable instructors. Great place to exercise while learning the values of martial arts. No need to bore myself in the gym anymore, I just come on the mat, have fun, and keep in shape all at the same time!
I’ve had a wonderful experience training in Aikido at this dojo for the past three years. I’m eighty-two years old and still enjoy training with a group of talented instructors and enthusiastic students.
I have been training at Shoshinkan for several years and absolutely love it. The instructors and the atmosphere they create are special and make for a unique opportunity for those looking to better themselves. This school offers Aikido, Judo, Japanese and Okinawan weapons as well as Karate. I have enrolled my daughter and son, both of whom are under the ages of 8 in the kids classes, which are wonderful. This school is highly recommended.
Wonderful dojo with expert instructors. From Aikido to Karate to Judo, to self-awareness self-defense, the learning is global. Traditional Japanese learning and ethics. Everyone is welcome. There is no ego here. No tournament or competition driven attitute. The only one you compete against is yourself.
Love this Dojo!
Excellent place
