ZERO STARS!!! Other peoples reviews on their service is spot on. Cost was $160 more than originally book (20% tax, random additional $60 fee and $72 fuel charge?). The car did not have A/C (we were in Vegas). Returned the car and went to the customer service desk to file a complaint, but they were closed. Called the next day to speak to customer service (poor at best) and were offered $30 off our next rental. This service is not worth the headache. Highly recommend you to consider other options.
Paid upfront online for the rental, showed up at the Thrifty desk on time only to find the desk closed. Why Thrifty would close their desk on a busy Sunday afternoon is beyond me; sign posted to send people to the Dollar desk instead, where 50-60 people are waiting in line. Had I known I wouldve gone with Hertz, we rented a car with them last week in and out in 10 minutes. Dont believe the hours posted on Google, from what I see in reviews this isnt the first time Thriftys done this.
Horrible. They werent even open it was the middle of the day. sent customers to Dollar rentals. I got my car from Hertz. And the car was not full but i had to bring back full. Called customer service for the lady to be rude. Yes i would love to wait in line for 2 hours to get my rental. Then was told not to worry and just to bring the car back at them time i originally planed for and got charged a late fee. Yes i will not be using you all again. Paid $60 a day for oSomething that should be $30 a day.
Fast and friendly at the Counter, Danny was awesome and drop off was a breeze. It took all of 10 minutes. Its probably the fastest checkout Ive had.I was a Lil disappointed. I couldnt remember my rewards # and the young lady was a Lil short telling me she couldnt look it up and sent me back through the general line.
I had the same experience with the other customer, Quoting his reviewDishonest customer service.I picked up a car and made it clear that I did not want additional insurance charges. I asked to verify what my total daily charges would be. I then saw that I was charged for daily insurance. I had been lied to by the attendant while picking up the car.Any attempts to resolve the issue and get a refund were unsuccessful. Make sure that you get a print out of your charges before you sign anything.Same thing happened to me as well as I specifically mentioned that we need to waive the extra insurance charge and they still charged it in the end and the customer service will not give us a refund on this portion. They dont care about the customers at all.In addition to that, when we picked up the car, they forgot to give us the paper contract, and we have to go back to counter again to get it. Very bad customer service and experience overall. Not to mention almost 60mins long wait in the line. I would give it 0 star if I can
Snake oil sleazy salesmen. Beware. Our final was double the original agreed price. They make you sound like they are doing a favor. DO NOT BOOK your car here. Theyre is nothing thrifty about this place. You will end up with paying more than Hertz, Avis or enterprise.Update: when I received the bill, I noticed that the sleazy salesmen had added the upgrade fee and took it off on the next line giving the impression that he has given me a free upgrade.. in fact, the original line for fee was still added to the total. They should be ashamed of themselves. I will report them to BBB for even being in business.
When I picked up the car, the agent gave me three choices for insurance starting with Basic . I first selected Basic, then asked, Can I select no Insurance? He said are you sure? I said Yes I have plenty of insurance, my insurance agent told me I do not need car rental insurance. But today we return the car, in the airport, he had charged us $131.95 for LIS. I amPretty sure that is insurance. I tried to call them twice and was put to hold first for 18 minutes, then I called my credit card company. I tried again, to only be put on hold again. I also submitted a Thrifty review comment on their email with the receipt. Wish me luck!
Be careful with this scammers. I specify that I dont need any extra insurance, that I want what is included in the prepaid rate. I also was very specific that I already have progressive who covers rentals. So the women there included me an extra $30 loss damage waiver per day. I asked her what was that, and she told me it was the rate so I left. When I realized that she included me the insurance by force, i came back and asked her why she included me the insurance and she answered me in a very rude way that I asked for, which is not true. After all another person gave me the receipt taking off the insurance. But my surprise is that they still charged it in my cc. Now is my 4 call to the customer service to claim it.Be very careful with this company
Book with Alamo instead! First trip to Vegas last month I chose to go cheap with Thrifty. The counter at the Vegas airport is not even open so they direct you to Dollar. I was in line almost 2 hours and was given a different car than what the agent said I was getting. Never again. Second time I went, about 4 days ago, I chose Alamo with the skip the counter service. It was awesome. Pay everything up front and go straight to any car of your choosing within the class of car you booked. Keys are in the car. Will be going with Alamo for future car rentals for sure.
If being stranded in the middle of nowhere overnight is something you enjoy then this is the car rental place for you. Spent hours on the phone trying to get assistance and was promised a call back 7 times and never received a call. Was told a tow truck would be coming and it never came. If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. Worst experience ever.
Arrived with pep in my step, ready to explore Vegas! Upon arrival Thrifty was shut down directing people to Dollars insane line. Any excitement was completely suck out of us as we waited for over an hour to pick up this car.Every other place - National, Hertz, Budget - had no lines. DON’T RENT THRIFTY! Either take an Uber to your hotel or rent elsewhere.
Absolutely the most horrible experience. Got to the counter (Las Vegas Airport) to find a sign directing people to go over to Dollar doe their rental. Of course, no exaggeration at all, we had to wait three (3) hours for our turn at the counter. Afterward, they send you to the parking lot to pick out a car from a designated row. Additionally, you are directed to inspect car as you are ultimately responsible for any damage this you do on your own without agent. They do not provide you with any paper work to fill out. The person in the garage indicated that you should take photos as evidence. Leftover cars were not clean and most had significant damage. Not very reliable nor trustworthy. Never again.
I will never again rent a car at Las Vegas Airport and never use Thrifty. Process from airport is the worst - I have rented cars at most major cities and none are as poorly run as LV. Every step more lines and then finally they told me to go up on the car level and pick car in section 3 - only one car was there - no one there to answer questions- the car had scratches in but at that point I sure was not going to go back and stand in line again. And to finish it off it was a GM Spark - I didnt even think rental cars came that small!! What normally should take 30 minutes to get a rental car took us 2 hours.
I will never rent from a Thrifty location again. We wondered why when we got there why the line at Budget Car Rental was so long and hardly anybody at Thrifty. I booked online but the price we got at the ticket counter was $200 more. We didnt have this experience last year when in Vegas and we rented from Enterprise. Thrifty charged us a tag fee, a fee for Roadside Assistance, facility fee, vehicle license fee, about 21% for taxes along with breathing, looking and sitting in the vehicle. In addition to the charges, we had to wait a really long time to be assigned a vehicle despite having booked in advance. We were told we would have to go across the lobby to Hertz to get finished with checkout after they found something for us. After a long wait, I got frustrated and was about to cancel and go to one of the other numerous rental places there when FINALLY, they find a vehicle for us.We specified we needed a 6 passenger vehicle and were given the smallest thing they could find which had no cargo space once you put the 3rd row into use. Our party was 4 adults, 2 kids and we had 4 suitcases. We had to go back in to request a bigger vehicle which Thrifty added on another one hundred plus dollars because the rep said we had to move to another vehicle class. At that point, we were just ready to get that part over so that we could get to enjoying our trip. It seemed for a while we were going to spend 5 days with Thrifty instead of out and about enjoying the sights of Vegas. My advice if youre considering Thrifty: DONT.
Dishonest customer service.I picked up a car and made it clear that I did not want additional insurance charges. I asked to verify what my total daily charges would be. I then saw that I was charged for daily insurance. I had been lied to by the attendant while picking up the car.Any attempts to resolve the issue and get a refund were unsuccessful. Make sure that you get a print out of your charges before you sign anything.
Liars! Selling car insurance when people telling they dont need it! Be careful!!!
Closed early and sent everyone to dollar rent a car which made them have a huge line with long wait. Made me pay for more insurance even though I had already gotten insurance on Expedia. Not impressed.
Dont rent from Thrifty, will add charges to your bill even when you tell them you dont need it.. was charged for damage waiver that I did not ask for. Very unprofessional for a company..
I was quite worried reading all the bad reviews after I booked a vehicle with them through Priceline. But we got in on a Thursday around 11am, waiting in line took about 15-20 minutes. Got our rental and was on our way. Everything was easy in and out. Thanks Thrifty!
I have been renting from thrifty for 10 years and it has always been a great experience.
ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!! SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am completely frustrated and upset with what just happened at Thrifty Rent Car by Booking.com.My husband and I are traveling on our honeymoon and we made the purchases/reservations in Booking of tickets, hotel and car rental. But as soon as we arrived in Vegas, the Thrifty (which btw was closed (!) and had attendants in another rental car called Dolar) refused to hand over the car claiming that we werent qualified because we didnt have SSN and so they couldnt check our credit score. Which is complete nonsense in itself since this information is nowhere to be found on booking.com.But as I had already paid for the car using my credit card, but with my husbands drivers license (since I dont drive), I offered this option - cause I have SSN so they could check. Then to my surprise the attendant said that this is completely illegal and that Booking was committing fraud by making the reservation using my credit card and not my husbands.Completely unprepared and unprofessional. We left that hell place totally frustrated, embarrassed and we were forced to rent the car at another agency for DOUBLE the price. Please don’t lose your money like us!!!
Thrifty office was closed, so I had to stand in line for over an hour and a half to get a rental car from the dollar company, and I couldnt get the car I wanted.I promise I will never do any business with your company again. Of course, I would give the same advice to everyone around me...
Rented car for a day of our trip thru expedia... thrifty closed the office on Sunday, day before labor day, in Las Vegas. We had to go to dollar. rental car. After waiting over an hour in line, I was told there was a 200$ security deposit, card ONLY. This was news to me! I asked if I could put it on my debit card... that one will be 500$, they hold it a week, AND a soft pull on my credit.I literally canceled everything and went to Alamo. I got a car in less than 5 minutes.Contacted Thrifty, Garrett asked for my #. Then Amber said they would look into it. Caitlin told me I needed to check the website, bit late for that. Then Vanessa told me the charges were accurate. No one would tell me why I spoke to 4 different people in one conversation. Just tells me that corporate also doesnt care. Also, I paid for insurance thru expedia. Why was he pushing me to pay for more insurance? And then tells me that the insurance I had wasnt thru them, I needed more insurance.Go to Alamo. Hertz... literally anywhere else.
Really disappointed with Thrifty. When we arrived the Thrift desk was closed, with a sign directing us to Dollar. The line had without exaggerating at LEAST 150 people waiting zigzagging line. Im a bluechip member which has its own express line. I reserved and prepaid for a 7 passenger SUV. The car they gave me was really nice, but without any communication to me, they increased the daily rental rate by $25/day, and increased the hourly rate by 30% I called customer service and they told me theres no one I can talk to. So even though I prepaid and reserved a rate they told me they will not honor it.
There was a very long line upon my entering the rental car facility, but it does move quickly. (I have stood in much, much worse). Our associate Daniel was nothing short of amazing! He told us about Vegas attractions and sights and convinced us to rent a Camaro SS (and gave us a great deal) that turned out to be so much fun.
The rental counter was closed and had a sign to go to Dollar counter for assistance. That line is extremely long. So far, weve been in line almost an hour and still not near the front of the line. Im a Travel Agent on a business trip. This poor experience has caused me to never book my Las Vegas clients with Thrifty or Dollar car rental. I wouldnt want them to experience this, especially if they are disabled. All the other car rental lines werent as long and moved fast.
We decided to rent a car after a few days in Vegas as we had three weeks to kill in America. After looking around the many rentals in Vegas we ended up in this Thrifty, after the initial very long queue we couldnt have gotten a better service. Initially looking for something average we were quickly dazzled by the Mustang - but not the price. The guy who served us was amazing, he upgraded us to a Mustang for an additional five dollars a day and looking back on things it probably helped make the holiday so good. What an amazing car to drive around America.
Was really worried about being able to get a rental car in Vegas after hearing all the horror stories. Our first plane of the day was late 6 hours, contacted Thrifty thru twitter since phones lines were not open. (even though it was after 9 am east coast). They were able to change pick up time with no problems. No big issues upon arrival. Arrived after 6pm on a Sunday. Waited in line at Dollar for about 30-40 minutes. They had 4 people working. Had used Credit card miles so no upsale for insurances. Car was in good working order/ full tank/ clean. Brought car back 2 weeks later early in the am, drop off was a breeze. Seemed to be tons of cars in the lots both when picking up and dropping off.
Had to go to dollar to check in. Prepare to wait 2-3 hours in line to get a vehicle. No fault of the staff, they just get a high volume of business. Once at the counter we were gone in ten minutes.
Nathan was so helpful to us as we dropped off our rental car. He helped us to ensure we gathered all our belongings and made the return process smooth and easy! Thanks Nathan!
Do not rent through Thrifty!!!!!! They added an extra $125 charge WITHOUT our knowledge!!! We discovered the extra charge on our receipt. When we called to ask for it to be removed, they were extremely rude and would not remove the charge!!! Clearly, they value money over their customers. We had to dispute the entire rental car charge on our credit card to get our money back. Spend your money elsewhere and save yourself from this headache. Shame on your Thrifty.
This car rental company sneaks in hidden fees! I was charged a $100 in excess of what my reservation showed as the total of my rental. I booked on Expedia and prepaid for the extra insurance and everything. When I got to the counter, the agent charged me again for the insurance which came out to be $87 for 2 days and there were extra taxes and fees that were supposed to be already included in the total given on Expedia. I returned the car early as the representative suggested in order for them to change the price. After returning the vehicle they said they couldn’t reverse any charges because I had returned the vehicle. Expedia had already charged me for comp and collision, but the representative asked me again if I was taking the insurance and I said “yes” because I was under the impression that I was agreeing to the insurance that I had already selected at the time I made my reservation, which was $30, paid to Expedia. Even though the agent could see that on the reservation they went ahead and added an additional insurance. Also, when I reserved the car, Expedia did not say that they would charge me an extra amount for picking up 30 minutes early. So they charged me 3 extra hours. At about $16. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. I should of read the reviews. Also when I got there, there were no more cars in the economy car category that I reserved for so they ended up charging me for that. I booked at $41 a day, they charged me $45 a day, plus insurance, extra hours and taxes and fees. I paid almost a $100 in excess of what I reserved for.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I rented a certain vehicle class and they didn’t have the one I reserved so settled for another class of vehicle. I drove the vehicle with my family of 6 including 2 children, 7 years old and a 2 month old. The vehicle started overheating on the highway in the middle of nowhere and right before we could get into the closest exit, the throttle went out! Ridiculous! We checked the coolant and the whole thing was leaking, had to wait 10 hours in temperatures of 30-19 degree weather with no heat cause the car wouldn’t turn on. Had to buy blankets to keep us warm until they brought the new car to us. I called customer service, which took over a week because I kept getting hung up on and waiting time was over 45 minutes each! According to them, the best they can do is $100 off our next rental. I refused it and will now be disputing this with my bank. They didn’t keep up with their part of the contract and give me a safe reliable car!
Got to the rental car hub and the Thrifty kiosk was closed. We had to wait in line for nearly 3 hours at the Dollar kiosk in order to pick up the car. Later on in our trip, we needed to contact roadside assistance. No one picks up the phone. We tried 3 different numbers and it either rings for eternity or immediately terminates. Spend the extra couple bucks and go with a different rental company.
BEWARE!!! Thrifty doesnt even deserve 1 star! Not only were they CLOSED when we got there and everyone had to move over to DOLLAR rental which was an hour and a half wait. The line was crazy. Anyway, we wanted to upgrade from a compact car to a truck. We got a quote of $314 to upgrade! We had NO IDEA IT WAS A DAILY RATE until we brought the truck back 3 days later!!! Who the heck pays $942 to rent a truck for 3 days???? The vehicle was part of a vacation bundle which included airfare, hotel and vehicle!! I want the name of a person I can talk to to dispute this??
Our second time renting from Thrifty/Dollar here in Vegas. No problems. You are able to choose from multiple cars in the allotted spaces. We choose a Kia Optima and I made sure Android Auto worked in the car. I hopped in a different car and couldnt get Android Auto to work, so it was nice being able to try multiple cars. Return was quick and no problem.
Thrifty should get a 0 star. Thrifty counter says closed & to go to the Dollar counter. Went to Dollar to stand in a line thats was barely moving. Waited about 30 mins for the line to move only couple feet. Mind you, the end of the line was near the front doors. I ended up leaving & not renting from them. Never again Thrifty.
The guy name Najam, helped us out and i gotta say such an amazing class! he gave us an amazing upgrade on our ride as well as explained us in details which car insurance to use to help us out the best. he was so friendly and really made us feel like we were important to their business which is what a costumer loves! definitely something i’ll keep in mind when i come back to vegas!
BEWARE! This location is constantly closed with a sign asking you to use the Dollar counter. 50 people in line at all times!Spare yourself the headache, pay $30 extra per day and go to Avis/Alamo/National…
A horrible experience!! Complete scam. Wasted us a whole day
So i pre booked a car but when i finally arrived in las vegas . we stood in the long shuttle bus line to get dropped off 3 miles away where now there is a sign saying thrifty car rental is closed please go to dollar rent a car and obviously thats where everyine else was standing too! Took us 2 hours and we got told because we didnt pick up yesterday our rental car is no longer available! You gotta be kidding me!
Dont open the business if you are understaffed.... More than 100 people waiting for the 3 dollar counters to get help.
First and last time I rent from Thrifty. Counter was closed at 530pm. Directed to Dollar and told it would be a 3hr wait for a my car. My reservation was for 56 a day. I was charged 75 a day. Then sold the insurance when I said I had full coverage. Bringing my total to 340. +105 from my reservation total.
My car was not ready when they claimed it would be. I waited several hours while they found a car even though I booked months in advance. When I returned it early to a different Thrifty location due to a family emergency, they charged me over 4 times the original rate. $208.21 per week became $927.45 per week. The customer service representative was not helpful. She just said thats how it is and did not offer any solutions.
Buyer beware. If I could give zero stars I would. Booked a rental thru this company using Priceline. I said from the time of booking that my flight arrived after 10pm. By the time I got to the car rental building it was about 10:40pm. The Thrifty desk looks to be permanently closed and directs you to Dollar. The Dollar desk closes at 10pm even though their company books car rentals for customers with late arriving flights. There was a security guard stationed at the entrance of the Dollar office yelling (no joke) at all customers who were arriving to pick up cars. It’s was absolute chaos. This company should have never accepted a booking for a late car rental pick up if their desk closes at 10pm. I ended up renting from Alamo (open 24/7) and disputing the charges with Thrifty. I was successful in getting a full refund. Pay the extra $50 and rent from another company. This one is a joke.
The site was closed and had to join a line at Dollar which was huge. Lots of other problems but this was utterly annoying after a long flight
My flight got changed so we needed to change our reservation to the next morning, as they would be closed when our flight came in. To pick it up the NEXT morning was $300 more! So, I shortened the time I would have the car because they are closed when I would come in, and they are charging more! In addition, it took 30 minutes to get a human on the phone to find this out. This is insane! Im scared now on how this is going to go when I get there to actually pick up the car! Such a rip off!
Ordered car. Our flight was 3 hrs late. Thrifty was closed. When did rental car places start closing at an airport? Thankfully we found a car with another company and was able to cancel. No way I was sitting 7hrs waiting on thrifty to open
This maybe the worst company I have dealt with. Save the headache and get Avis or something else and pay the extra. They messed up my booking in a way that they couldnt find the proper booking when I called for help. When we had a flat tire we were not able to get help from emergency roadside who we tried 3-4 times and waited an hour plus each time. Worst of all they did not even have the proper equipment in the vehicle for me to change to the donut so I couldnt even help myself. This is likely the worst company I have ever dealt with.
We got to the car pick up at Las Vegas. All counters closed with no reason why. Sent us to dollar rental which was a very long line. 45 minutes later I got my turn. Person at counter was very nice. Thrifty shut down their area due to covid and it was a small counter. Would have been nice to be told that at time of online rental. I watched other car rental places move so fast. Never again will I rent with thrifty. Oh and thete were no cars in the size I reserved.
As other reviewers wrote, though we reserved through Thrifty, we were instructed to pick our car up through Dollar. We werent in line very long and had a pleasant experience with the clerk. He gave us directions for where to go to retrieve our car. We were actually able to pick out any vehicle among the compact cars (since thats what we reserved). As usual, I took a video of the exterior and interior to document any dents or other damage already on the car. There were a few spots, but nothing terrible. A part of the bumper was loose and I made sure to point it out in the video. In retrospect, I probably should have pointed it out to a clerk, but I didnt at the time. Though I am mentioning it, note that this has not come up as an issue with Thrifty/Dollar. The car inside was clean and smelled good. The car operated great. My only complaint, and I didnt notice this until we were on the highway, was an issue with the lining on the driver side door. It was incredibly loud and I kept thinking the window was open. Other than that, I would rent from them again.
We called time after time because the engine was leaking and no one has answered. Just know that they don’t care if you are in danger. Never using again.
If you arrive after 6 be prepared to wait, wait, and wait some more. Thrifty closes at 6 and shifts over to Dollar.... along with 2 or 3 other companies. We were in line nearly 2 hours because there were only 2 employees. It was a miserable way to start our trip. We did, however end up with a nicer car than what we had ordered because what we had requested was not available and the return process was very easy.
The wait for a car was almost two hours. The only reason this isnt a one is because Ty from Hertz showed up and made the line move faster. Thanks Ty.
They charge us for services we clearly decline at the time of pick up. Manager was not helpful at all and showing no interest in solving the problem and keeping a customer. Will never rent with them again.
Never again....When your flight to Vegas was infinitely faster than your wait in Thriftys line to get your car. When they take my time, and time is money, they totally rip you off. 👎👎👎Update: 1 hour + barely moved. Hunger pangs growing. Patience wearing thin. 🙄☹😴Update: Someone in line ordered fried chicken thru door dash. Eyeing the crispy chicken with intense thoughts. Must maintain composure. 🥴
Fraud company, cheating customers. They verbally say there is no insurance, but in agreement secretly using Abbreviation word to charge you extra unnecessary money. Please pay attention to your receipt, they always lie to you. Double check if there is any extra charge before you sign.
Didnt like how we did a car rental on line and came to Vagas having to wait in a long line for dollar.?? been in line for an hour already still counting.. I recommend dont go there
Thrifty rental area close- proceed to Dollar rentals area. It took over an hour waiting in line. 2 employees working the desk. Will never use thrifty again. NOT COOL
Great fast service no complaints here, the best car rental experience Ive had lately
Why make a reservation at a certain time if you’re going to make us stand for 2 hours?! You NEED TO BETTER PREPARE and STAFF! It’s worth an Uber ride to an off airport car rental then to deal with this chaos. It’s only gotten worse every time I’m here.
Don’t rent here I booked through Hotwire and paid in full and was double charged when I returned the vehicle when I called to ask about the charge they were unable to help me and refused to let me talk to the Denver thrifty where I picked up the vehicle they said someone would contact me in a month and it’s now been 3 months still no answer. On top of that I had accrued a toll fee which I immediately paid right away through thrifty months later they double charged me again . This has to be credit card fraud to just keep charging someone’s card? I had to cancel my card so they can’t keep charging me months after.
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. First I arrived to the desk at 8 pm for a 9 oclock rental and get to the teller and say I have a 9 oclock rental, if theres gonna be an additional charge I can just wait he Responded lets check to see if your car is ready and tells me it is. Then after 5 minutes he asks for my credit card to put a card down for a deposit. I then leave and check my online receipt after Im driving and he charged me a 216$ for a whole additional day! For 50 minutes! Then even worse when I was returning a the car an accident was blocking me from returning my car. I called and told them I cannot get into the garage theres an accident 1.5 hours early to which they tell me no problem. The accident takes 2 hours to remove the car and I return it late obviously and they charge me 216$ for a whole day again! Even though theres nothing I could do. Am I supposed to float over the semi truck?! I call customer service and they say theres nothing we can do about the charges. I said I can send you pictures or or screen shot of the news article about the accident. Nothing. This company is a slimy stay away. Never again
We had a 4 day rental which we paid $389.92 on Priceline, we upgraded at an additional $25/day. Just discovered a $951.29 charge on my CC from Thrifty. Unable to get anyone in customer service, put on automated hold for eternity!RIPOFFTY
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.I told the woman at the counter my auto insurance covered rentals and she still added a charge of $174.24 for Loss and Damage. When I argued with her that I was covered she told me there was some loophole in Nevada where I wouldn’t be covered and that I needed that or else I would be liable. When I then called and tried to speak with Thrifty about the charge they told me I had already signed agreeing to the charge. When I asked to speak with a manger I was out on hold. When he came back on the line he pretended not to hear me and hung up. Now when I call that extension it just rings for several minutes and goes to silence.I guess this is how they can be “thrifty”! Signing up for items you don’t need and arguing until you sign so you can get on with your vacation. Cool move.
If you like waiting on line for an hour to pickup a pre paid car-by all means use these losers
Thrifty should be called theifty. They tried to scam us, they wanted us to pay for insurance when I told her I already had insurance. After 15 minutes of telling her, she finally gave up trying to scam me. They wanted to add 200$+ for some insurance I did not need. Beware of these extra charges they try to force you to pay.
The two worst rental experiences of my life have been at Thrifty in Las Vegas. The Thrifty counter was not even open when we arrived. Instead we faced an interminable line at another agency with a line that was 70 people deep. An hour and 1/2 wait. Never again.
Thifty’s hours are 8 am - 10 pm? Thrifty sends you to the dollar car rental counter. Why is this (both) place closed when my flight just got in at 4 am? A car rental location that services an International Airport should be open 24/7. Disgusting and Unacceptable! Now I’m stranded, wasting my vacation (sleep), waiting for a rep 🤬And then to make matters worse, there are 6-7 reps behind the counter - wandering around now at 7 am, but they didn’t help anyone until 7:45 am because they had to clean! So I’m hungry, tired and mad! Terrible service - you can only treat people this way because we need your service - that’s the sadness of the situation 😡
Quick and easy at an affordable price.
Just going to copy what this gentleman said. I had the same experience.Counter is shut down. 500 people in line. Terrible. Spend the extra money and go elsewhere but not Dollar because they’re the same company.
WARNING ⚠️ Thrifty charged us twice after we had already secured our rental and when we tried getting our money back, we got the run around and hang ups without resolve. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED
They wanted another deposit on top of what I had paid for the rental lost some of the deposit . Very disappointing
Got the car we reserved and drove around when we got done we returned it this worked out well because walking is not fun
I got talked into extra insurance that cost more than the rental itself and the agent didnt explain at all what the charges were for even though I was clearly confused since Id done a pay now booking and pre-paid the rental. The car itself needed work, whine on steering, chunks missing out of the rims and a good front end rattle at highway speeds.
Line was almost 2 hours long and doubled up with Dollar, also wouldnt honor Blue Chip priority, the line is too long
Terrible, RIP OFF they gave us a vehicle that had scratches, filthy not a full SUV .. I rented the vehicle in April and STILL have not received my security deposit back from Thrifty. Horrible Business dont rent a vehicle from here there the same as DOLLAR.,
Wish I could give zero stars. Dont rent from here if you want a working car. Also watch out for the $200+ of hidden fees they hit you with when you return the car. Rather ride in a public bus then rent a car from this subpar company. Oh and youll never actually talk to anybody that works for thrifty... you have to check in at the dollar rental counter then you get to wonder around looking for the place to pick up your car since you dont go to dollar or thrifty to pick up the car you go to HERTZ 😂😂 honestly the most confusing experience ever with a rental agency. Pick any other place beside the 3 companys mentioned above.
DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFTY CAR RENTAL! So the moral of the story is this: Thrifty Car Rental will add extra charges without any explanation or reasonable notification. After our family trip, our rental car is dirty due to weather in Utah and muddy roads to our rental cabin, it also rain and snowed during our stay and our rental is dusty and has some mud on the lower portion of the car. When I return the rental, I asked the attendee if everything is ok and anything I need to be aware of, he answer no, everything is ok. When I got home, I received an updated rental receipts that reflects a $100 exterior cleaning fee. $100 for exterior cleaning fee!!!!! This is a fraudulent charge! I called the next day morning and tried to work out with Thrifty car rental and they refused to acknowledge the error and insist on me taking legal action instead of resolve this dispute. So, be aware of excessive charges from Thrifty Car Rental
Horrible experience DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.......They gave you different class of car, not clean or vacuumed during COVID. Car smells like cigarettes, worse experience ever we had to change the car twice with them in our traveling time. ****** Horrible experience *****What happened to good old days customer service?????
My husband and I were having the worst day when we came into Thrifty. However, Sedaka was able to make a difference. Hes a very reasonable and pleasant person. He made the transaction very smooth and really turned our day around. In a day when customer service representatives are ubiquitously little more than old aluminum can vending machines which can only perform one function (and if you push on them the wrong way, they might not dispense anything), Sedaka provided extraordinary customer service today. Please do thank him for making a difference for us today.
I had the WORST experience even After reading the horrible reviews and wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt .....I still ended up UPSET AND TRIP RUINED THANKS TO THE UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT and the lack of communication between the branch and the corporate number that you call too book!Hidden fees and other things that are not specified in the fine print were also a HUGE ISSUEIF I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS I WOULD
The thrifty counter was closed by 5:00 pm! We were referred to the dollar counter. They had 2 employees working the counter. We waited 2 hours in line to get a car. NEVER AGAIN! Not worth the wait!
Brain dead & lazy car rental personnel. Hotwire was wonderful!!!
Worse experience ever, got a car in Las Vegas with no AC then after couple days we were able to return it, they gave us a vehicle that was not clean and smell like ashtray( smoking car) we had to deal with a smell the rest of our trip. Imagine heat and cigarette smell for people that they don’t smoke. When we call they keep transfers g you to another number and they play game. I would not recommend giving them a business.
Arriving, the service was fast and friendly. The car itself? So, so. But, returning the car could have been much better. Thrifty desk was closed and I had to find out on my own that I needed to go to Dollar rental to return it. Overall they get a B and I would probably use them again to save money.
I would give zero stars if possible. I paid $65 up front for a car reservation and was told after waiting for an hour (along with a whole line of angry customers) that there were no cars available. They said I could get a car the next morning and was once again told there were no cars. They then refused to give me a refund on my $65! So I literally paid them $65 for *thinking* about getting a car through them and having them waste my time for hours.
Currently driving one of their Nissan sedans that clearly has a battery issue as we have to jump the car every time we want to start it. We have tried calling for assistance with a new vehicle, but we are left on hold forever. We eventually went to Walmart and purchased a jump kit. It is a blast having to pop the hood and attach the jumper multiple times per day. We called a nearby Hertz, parent company of Thriftys, only to be told they couldnt help us because they wouldnt have an available car for over a week. Yeah, sure. We return the car in a few days, and I will be talking to whoever is at the front desk about this matter. Very disappointed in Thrifty. Will NEVER use them again and inform others to do the same.
10 am and closed. Fantastic.
I had a great experience with Thrifty last weekend!! They werent open when we arrived to Vegas so we had to use the Dollar rental line instead, which was fine. It was a bit long but when we got to the counter, the service was quick and painless. We absolutely loved having the option to pick our vehicles!!! They were using Hertzs service, so we had the option to pick from three rows of Gold status vehicles. We couldnt quite find one we wanted so the attendant said we could choose from another row and we got a Chevy Malibu with 10 miles! It was the best vehicle and easy to drive. It made our visit so much better and the return was amazing. You drive it in a line, get out, a staff member checks around it and inside of it, and then youre released! There is a $200 deposit but mine came off relatively quickly. I plan to use this service again next week!
Had to rent a car for 2 days because my truck is in the shop and I got in-and-out quick Fast
The line was around the waiting area and we waited ALMOST TWO HOURS total for a rental car??? Are you serious?? Never coming back here. And the car reeked of cigarette smoke. The customer service didn’t even offer a refund or anything. Unbelievable
Closed while 30 people were in line from the Las Vegas airport. If people are in lone shouldn’t close them out. Last time I’ll ever rent from this company again.
