When you call not knowing anything about Denistry.. shes the one you wanna speak with, shes patient and will not make you feel stupid.There is one bad apple in the office though- I had to call for weeks just to get around her... Then I reached Janice! who answered my questions and made me feel smoother about the whole getting braces process... Looking forward to being a more confident me

Krissy and Nicole were so awesome! I have a lot of anxiety about the dentist but they made me feel right at home. The dental team was efficient, straightforward, and kind. My whole experience felt very personal, I would definitely recommend this office!!

I have used Great expressions most of my life without any issues. I have never had anything but cleanings and minor cavities filled through the years. I recently have run into issue after issue, asked for referral to an endodontist to be told “ sensitivity is normal” and no referral made. Only to have to do my own research into an endodontist and a root canal was required.As patients we rely on our primary doctors and dentists to advocate for us, and sadly I don’t think that is happening here.I realllllly love the staff. I think Consuela is awesome. I just don’t feel secure there anymore. ☹️

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had i highly do not recommend this place very rude employees. My opinion this place needs to be shut down.

My first hygienist and the doctor were nice enough but the last hygienist who had to take a mold of my teeth foe a mouth guard and did my fluoride treatment was extremely rushed and very rough with me. She did not communicate or tell me in advance anything she was going to do. After the impression I asked her if all the little pieces of the impression material were going to stay in my teeth, she spent 2 minutes roughly picking it out and then told me it would come out eventually. They sent me home with pieces of molding all over my lips, face, beard and chunks of it falling from my teeth into my mouth.I had to brush and floss when I got home just so I could function and therefore I essentially washed the fluoride treatment I paid for out of pocket.

If I could select zero stars, I definitely would. Very disappointed at the lack of professionalism from this office. I contacted them a few months ago to schedule an appointment. The first time they called to cancel because they didn’t have an X-ray tech scheduled that day. They didn’t offer me another appointment time, just said they would put me on the waitlist. I called back to schedule a second appointment and the person scheduled me on a day their office was actually closed. Got yet ANOTHER rescheduled appointment that was yet AGAIN cancelled now because they don’t have a hygenist scheduled. What kind of dentists office doesn’t have adequate employees? Such a joke. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever unless they want their time completely wasted.

Dr ZB is outstanding personally and professionally. He really cares about his patients. Cant say enough about Janice and Pam. The staff working with Dr ZB are wonderful and courteous.

My dental plan through MSU brought me to Great Expressions. Over the years dentists and hygienist come and go. During the last year Ive had the BEST dentist and hygienist at Great Expression. Best cleaning I have ever received and a very personable dentist.

By far the worst dentist I have ever been too, don’t get me wrong, they’re very friendly and are good to you while you’re actually there but once you leave, that all changes. They treat you as if you are no longer a patient and just walking money, if you go here for any dental work, you are screwing yourself over. For example and the best example would be that I had to remove my OWN braces, by myself, that I had paid $5,500 of the $6,000 for that they were supposed to have from me when my braces have FIXED my teeth, but apparently before my next appointment I was forced to either pay the full amount or remove my braces and go else where, so that’s what I did, I removed them.0/10 will never return and they’re lucky I don’t go back and start world war 3.

After I was seen by the dentist she informed me she was unable to repair my tooth as she had no assistant today and would have to reschedule. I have to take an antibiotic one hour before any dental procedure because of my joint replacements. Therefore I have wasted a prescription. Also wasted my time. Im not very happy.

We had a confirmed appointment and they double booked the appointment. Had to wait in the lobby for close to two hours.

My family has gone to Great Expressions since at least 2010. I’ve had the same insurance, absolutely no changes. There were no problems until Sept. 2019. My son got a cleaning and I started receiving bills saying I owed $155. All the services are covered by my insurance. I called many many times trying to clear up the situation to no avail. I also called the insurance company, got all information needed for the dentist office to bill my insurance (including the billing address & electronic code used to bill). I called them with this information and I wrote/mailed a letter with all the insurance billing information. But, I still received another bill in the mail. I called again to explain the billing information I previously mailed. I gave the receptionist the phone number to call my insurance to get it straightened out. The receptionist said all billing is electronic so there’s nothing she can do. I ended up paying $155 out of pocket in July 2020 so they didn’t ruin my credit and I’ll never go back there.

I went to this location in December because I was referred by my dentist because I needed a orthodontic consultation about braces. I was already concerned that when I walked in one of the front desk employees had her mask off to eat, which I thought was weird when you have patients in the waiting room and covid. And also I could hear the whole discussion about them talking about one of their co-workers who was going to go get the covid vaccine because his wifes job covered it. And then I go back to get x-rayed and the person doing it seemed to be filling in and didnt know how to get a digital copy or a way to send my xray to my oral surgeon. And then when I go to meet the doctor, I was never told his name. Im assuming it was Dr. John Zang-Bodis, from looking at the staff options on the website. Then they had another patient in the room, a little girl by herself, that he was working on first. He comes to me and asks have I seen my xrays, and Im like no. And he was just like youll need a lot of work and I need to think about if I want to even go through the process of fixing them. Im 28, and have known I needed braces since I was a teenager, but my mother couldnt afford it and when I planned to finally get the process started last year covid happened and I have to start all the way over. There was just no bedside manner. And he starts digging all in my mouth, I wasnt offered a solution to rinse my mouth first like the Great Expressions in Okemos, since again covid and no bib or anything. He just started prodding in my mouth, and then stops to go talk to the little girl still in the room and tells her shes going to need to get teeth taken out and not to look at him like she didnt know this might not happen. And that hell have to talk to her mom next visit. It was just rude in my opinion to talk to a child like that, especially with no supervision. And then while my back is turned he just comes up to the side and doesnt even announce he wants to go back to look in my mouth, but just starts sticking his fingers in mouth and getting saliva all over my face and never offers me anything to wipe my face off with. He kept dismissing my concerns and said someone will call me about a dental plan, which I never received. There was just a lot said that seemed unprofessional to me. I will never go back there again.

I’ve a patient here for about 7.5 years. Overall the experience has been satisfactory. However, I will not be back again. There have been a couple of instances where I didn’t receive good customer service.No one called to reschedule my appointment that was missed due to COVID as they said they would reschedule all appointments that were missed because they were closed.Yesterday, no one called me to tell me the doctor no longer works passed 3:30pm. So I arrive for my appointment at 6:20 and no doctor to be found. However, they wanted to charge me for a doctor visit per the list of charges they outline during the visit.I asked why they didn’t call patients to let them know the doctor only works until 3:30pm. All of my appointments are after this time because I work during the day and cannot take time off whenever. They told me no one ever had a problem before, well I do.In addition, they wanted to take x-rays even though the doctor wouldn’t see them yesterday. I told the office staff I only wanted my teeth cleaned because the doctor was not in the office to review them the x-ray. I told them I would do x-rays when the doctor is in the office. They refused to clean my teeth unless they could take an x-ray that day (Remember no doctor is in the office at this time). I refuse to pay for a service I do not want when I do not want it.So I will not be returning to this office after my 7.5 years of being a patient. I would visit them three times a year normally.

Worst experience ever. Rude, unprofessional and poor quality work. Had to go to different dentist to fix their painful wrong doings. NEVER going back and NEVER recommending this horrible experience.

I have gone to great expressions for years now and I love the staff. Krissie the manager is always so friendly and helpful to patients and staff. I love checking in with angel at the front she is so funny and always makes people feel welcome. I could rave about so many members of the team. Consuela is so helpful especially with x rays on little mouths my kids had a hard time with that at first but not anymore. Angela is always so bubbly and tells you the truth about any questions you may have and what to do moving forward. Shanna is the absolute best with kids especially my daughter loves “Shannabanana” and is excited to go to the dentist. There have been a handful of dentists since I’ve been going here and they have all been so wonderful. The current dentist, Mohan was really helpful in making me feel comfortable, when trying to make a decision about my daughters fillings she reassured me and told me what she would do for her own daughter. I’ve been to Great Expression Lansing a few times now, and have always had positive experiences. The staff, hygienists, and Dr. Scherer are all very nice and professional. Friendly conversation and they remember me every time. They’re always on time and for the cleaning, I was in and out in 20 minutes! They thoroughly explain everything beforehand and and are very considerate of your time. No one likes the dentist, but this is the best experience I’ve had with any dental office anywhere.

It is always an absolute joy going into this office/branch. From the time I walk in door, until the time I leave my family and I feel like rock stars. All of the staff is very friendly and treat us like we are part of the family. My children have always enjoyed going to the dentist. Good Job ladies, keep up the great work.

I have been going here since I was a kid I’ve even had my braces through them. They have always been so friendly and sweet and a lot of the people that of been there for a long time still remember me. No one ever fails to engage in a conversation with me and call me by my first name as soon as I walk in the door. I love that the hours work with my work schedule so that I don’t have to miss any time. I will continue to go to them until I am no longer in the area.

They were able to schedule me an appointment as a new patient very quickly. My appointment started on time and was in and out pretty quick. Everyone was so nice and friendly from the receptionists, the hygenist, X-ray tech, the doctor. It was a great experience!

Been going to this location a few years. Everyone has always been nice and gentle and efficient. Last night the service was slow, they separated our appointments so we were thee for 2 hoirs, and the hygienist was new and really hit all of our nerves. I’ve never felt anything like it and neither did my kids.

Trying to commit insurance fraud!My daughter received braces from Great Expressions. While the actual work done wasn’t bad at all and the Orthodontist, not talkative but when he was seemed friendly, seemed to know what he was doing. The front desk help was a joke. Not only unfriendly but obviously incompetent. If that’s not the problem then this place is trying to commit insurance fraud. For an entire year they “had problems” billing our insurance. Even after we repeatedly told them where to send it. Our insurance even faxed them a step by step guide. In that entire year they never even tried to contact our insurance to try and figure billing out. They then refused care to my daughter until either insurance paid or we paid the remainder out of pocket. (We had paid our out of pocket cost completely the day she got the braces on) I refused to pay out of pocket anymore and demanded she be seen to just get her braces off so we could be done. It’s ridiculous that they would refuse care and expect us to pay more when it was 100% their companies incompetence that was causing all the issues. I finally got fed up and said I was getting my lawyer. Suddenly, that exact same day, they not only scheduled an appointment to get her braces off but also called our insurance and sent out the claim to the correct address. Interesting isn’t it? I’m convinced they try to bully people, by refusing care, to pay what insurance should cover then bill insurance so they also get that reimbursement. The BBB will be contacted.

Im always confident with me and my families oral health being taken care of here. They are not only great health professionals here, but treat patients with much care and compassion with an added bonus, they are consistently efficient! I highly recommend them to everyone I know!

Amazing place. They called a week early to let me know they had an earlier opening. Super surprised they were able to get me ASAP for follow up appointments. Staff was great and friendly. Very pleased to call this place my dentist.

The front office staff is friendly and they do a great job. The hygienist, Shannah is wonderful. Very gentle yet thorough. She is also a good person. I havent worked with the dentist yet so do not know about her.

The dentist is one of my least favorite places to go, in general. Although this office makes it easy. The receptionist is always kind and remembers who i am even though she only sees me twice a year. The hygienist is efficient and very friendly. Procedures are well explained so that even I can understand what they’re doing.

Everyone was helpful and friendly. I was in and out quickly. Pricing was clearly communicated and follow up appointments were scheduled quickly. Very pleased.

Dentists kinda freak me out, but these guys were awesome. They had me in and out in 45 minutes (root canal and build-up), and all the staff were super helpful, courteous, and professional. That being said, as others have stated, they can be somewhat hard to get a hold of via phone or email.UPDATE: After 4 months, the crown they installed just unceremoniously popped out. The crown that I paid $400 for. I am absolutely livid, and have updated my review score to reflect.

Great! Staff was very nice. I was able to get x-rays, oral health examination, seen by a dentist, and get my teeth cleaned in an hour as a new patient.

Went in for a cleaning. Appointment started right on time even though there were other customers already in process. The staff was great! They answered all my questions and competed my cleaning very efficiently and effectively.

Great experience! The front office staff are courteous and professional. Wait time was short, office is small but clean. Went in to see orthodontist and he was wonderful! Because of the insurance we have we only had two orthodontists to choose from and the first one (Midwestern Ortho Assoc) was terrible. Thank god that this place more than made up for our troubles with the other office.

Low key office. Doesnt have all of the frills you may find elsewhere, but that doesnt reflect the service. The hygienist was good and gave the standard cleaning. No pain. I take myself and children there and have not had any complaints.

Ive been going to Great Expressions for a long time and Ive always enjoyed my time there. Everyone is so nice. Until today. I believe the receptionist, I think her name is Angela or Angelique (something like that) is harsh in her presentation. She comes off as being rude. I just had to say something.

It was very difficult to get our appointment and we were rescheduled a few times. There were issues with our insurance and the coverage but the lady at the desk did an excellent job of helping us figure it out and we got braces on today. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy.

Shana is so thorough I didnt know she wasnt my dentist. Yes. I actually thought she was the dentist and was quite impressed with her skills as a hygenist also. LoL! Silly me. A dentist that cleans teeth! Never. I honestly dont recall who the dentist is as I typically spend less than a couple minutes with them.

Ive have a bad experience before at a different clinic. I was skeptical but gave it a try. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I love the dentist. Just love the clean feeling afterwards. Everyone here continues to make me feel that way.

We love the ortho team and the regular dental staff as well! Always a pleasure going and we use great expressions dental for our entire family and have never had a bad experience in the last 11 years weve been coming there.

I have called there multiple times to get appointments. They NEVER return calls. One time was for a suspected abscess and they couldnt be bothered to return my call. Other times to make cleaning appointments and other tooth issues. I guess this is what you get from the Walmart of dental.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE - WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE NUMBER IF POSSIBLE. At this point, I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. As things progress I will update my review. As of right now, my entire family and myself are being discharged from the dental and orthodontic practice. Which I have 2 family members currently with braces on - so they have to go and have them removed and go somewhere else for orthodontic treatment. This has all stemmed from my visit with the dentist. I have an extreme, severe, debilitating anxiety and fear of the dentist. I am not an easy patient and I am not friendly when I am at the dentist. I obviously offended the dentist with my demeanor and my answer to her question of how I was doing. My answer was I am at the dentist, it F***ing sucks. Beyond that I did not really speak or communicate with the dentist. I am willing to apologize for offending her but I have been told that I am not allowed to communicate with the office anymore. I find it appalling that they are punishing me for my extreme, severe, debilitating anxiety and fear as well as punishing my family for my behavior. I am more than willing to never go back and have asked that they not discharge the rest of my family but they will not consider it so far. Still trying to work up the chain of command to see if possible.

This was not my first time being there but this visit was different usualy im in im out all is good and easy. But this time my appointment was at 11am and i got there at 10:30 and checked in but i didnt go back till an hr later at 11:30am after i went back up there and asked when i was going back and there response was ohh did you just get here? So due to this i miss most of my classes at school when i should have onlg missed 1 class.

This has got to be the worst dentist I have ever seen. My daughter has braces and goes here each month for her checkup. We have not had an appointment yet that didnt turn into a 2 hour marathon of waiting in the waiting room .The front counter staff is ridiculously a unfriendly joke that I am surprised can awnser a phone . I guess they just look for people with a pulse when hiring. I would stay clear of this place and save your time, money and hassle .Its just not worth it .

Horrible! Absolutely horrible! They violated my hipaa rights! I had a two surgeries this year, had a note from my doctor stating that I was cleared for a teeth cleaning. They wouldnt accept it. They wasted tons of my time, used my insurance to take xrays and give an exam and then on top of that used up two days south of gas offering me another appointment the next day in the other office. Ive worked in medical offices before, this isnt professional and Im going to be handing this over to my attorney because of the way they handed it. Beware, dont go. My old dentist who had retired called and said that it was a horrible place to go and to find another place the day the before when they disclosed my ppi without written consent (it was in my hand when I received the call). What a waste of time. They need to hire an entire new set of employees.

I have had two root canals done at Great Expressions. I thought the first one went ok. The second one the dr couldnt finish for some reason and after 11/2 hours of her working on the root canal she said I was going to have to come back and have a more experienced dr finish. About a year later I had an abscess in the first root canal. Since it was less then two years insurance doesnt cover the retreatment, I had to pay $1024 for that. Just over 2 years after having the root canal done on the second tooth I had an abscess in that tooth. Thankfully insurance covered most of that retreatment. When I went to the same specialist the second time to get the retreatment I asked his honest opinion on if I should switch dentists, he said if I have to get anymore root canals come to him. He said they did a great job on the crowns but couldnt say that about the root canals.
