Solid resort area with a great beach. Our condo was renovated and was comfortable. Great outdoor mall a short walk away with some coffee shops and restaurants. Fantastic sunset location!

Absolutely loved this place. Was looking for a perfect place for our first visit in Maui and found this place through Costco Travel. Were a family of 5 and needed enough space so we booked a 2 bedroom condo. We had a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a separate living and dining room and a laundry room. Not to mention, the 2 couches in the living room had each a full size pullout bed. Needless to say, we had plenty of room. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Amenities include a gym which I did not get to checkout, grills by the pool so you can cook your own meal. The only thing I would say is that the pool is a bit small but the beach is steps away from the property so not a big deal. Also, there is no restaurant on the property but very close to the Westin and Whalers village where theres plenty of restaurants and shops. Did I mention that this resort is right across Kaanapali Golf Course. Was planning on playing a round of golf but did not get a chance to. Will definitely stay here next time.

Amazing resort! View is amazing, on the one side it has mountain view and on the other side it has a view of vast ocean.

I have never written a bad review. I wanted to warn others. My husband and I saved two years to take our family on this trip. We booked what we thought was the most expensive one bedroom with ocean view room they had. However, we had no view of the ocean. So we went down to front desk to see if we were put into the wrong room. Apparently, that was the ocean view room. We could have booked the partial ocean view room for much less. Anyways, we went down to front desk and asked to see a upgraded room with a view. The ocean view we were looking for is ocean front room. So pay attention note ocean view means you have a view of ocean if stand at the corner of your balcony and lean over. I have to say the staff was very helpful in getting us a wonderful room with a view. Their bellman and custodial staff were so nice. The lady at the front was very friendly too. But, when we went over the price of the upgraded room the lady at the front desk didnt explain the cost of the upgraded room correctly. When we got home from our trip, we were charged way more than was communicate to us. So, overall the staff and grounds were nice. We planned on coming back to the resort and making this our family place. But, after feeling blindside twice. We probably wont come back to this resort. So, just beware when staying at this resort.

Kaanapali Alii is a great option for any type of group and vibe. Nestled between the super fancy Westin and the crazy crowded Hyatt, this resort has access to everything while also feeling like an escape from the loud crowds. Staff was very friendly and helpful

We stayed at a one bedroom plus den condo with partial ocean view. Four adults and a baby slept very comfortably and all had good privacy. We especially appreciated the real crib provided for our baby, not just a pack n play. The grounds are beautiful and conveniently located walking distance to restaurants. Would for sure return to this place.

Dont get me wrong, this is a nice facility. Is it worth the price? A high price comes with high expectations. Here are a few points.....the resort is older than you would believe from the online pictures and description. Our Ocean View unit was on the first floor. There was really no view but was convenient entering and exiting the grounds. Our condo was in need of updating and upgrading the appliances, furnishings, linens, hardware, etc.It is quiet in part due to no dining facility as part of the complex. The location is close to activities, shopping and dining. We must have had the new front desk person on check in. She gave us the incorrect Wi-Fi password so was frustrating initially. She also made us show her our vaccination/Covid19 test results as we were trying to check in. Really? We could not have even boarded the plane had we not had the information in order. After a long plane ride and drive from the airport, we had to dig that out again. She informed us that some people had to be turned away if they did not have the paperwork. I doubt she had the authority to make us Show Ze Papers. I almost broke into my Humphrey Bogart Treasure of the Sierra Madre improvisation but decided against it.Will we come back to Maui? Yes. Will we come back to Kaanapali Alii? Not sure. Will do some comparison shopping first.

Wonderful lanai with ocean view; nice kitchen. No fans! Bathrooms need to upgraded. A/C in master bedroom rattled.

I went to this resort about almost two years ago. It was very nice. It had everything you need, including good location, kitchen, tv, living room etc. When I went, they gave us the wrong room and our one bedroom + den turned into two bedroom + den and it was very nice and clean. They have grills on the beach so if you can go to the store and buy hot dogs or burger patties it is really nice to watch the sunset whole eating without having to pay seven thousand dollars to eat at some subpar restaurant. There is a pool, which I think is the most useless feature of the place- since your on the beach for crying out loud. But other than pretty nice condo, would definitely go back.

This condo resort is amazing. The renovated room we had had breathtaking sunset views over the pacific through the floor to ceiling windows...a bit pricey but worth it...

My family visited Maui and stayed at the Alii in January 2020. This was by far my favorite trip of all time. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and prime location on Kaanapali beach. We cant wait to come back.

We are in a condo with another couple. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. A kitchen with a dining room and a living room. A nice sized balcony looks out over the beach and the ocean with other islands in the distance.The staff and facilities are wonderful and you can walk a couple of blocks and you have passed several restaurants on the beach.The facility is located on beautiful beaches and near to a lot of activities.

Great place to stay without the touristy resort feel. Right on the ocean front, nice pool and property. The place we stayed in was wonderful overlooking the mountains and ocean. Housekeepers were very nice and everyone got to know you over a couple of days.There is no bar in the pool area, so pack accordingly. Would recommend this place if you need the extra room and kitchen for the vacation!

Loved our two bedroom apartment with lanai that had ocean views. Only a short walk along the beach to shops and restaurants. Large kitchen, lounge room and two bathrooms. Free parking too. Would stay here again when visiting Maui.

Condos were clean and were larger than we expected. Great location on the beach. Close to shopping, yet far enough away to escape some of the crowd. Enjoyed the grilling area near the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back!

The location and views of the Kaanapali beach is so beautiful. The resort is clean and the staff is very friendly, however this facility is older and most of the units are in desperate need of updating. They are not bad, but in comparison to other resorts on the beach, it might be worth checking out the Hyatt, Marriott or Westin. They are much more modern and have amazing outdoor areas. We spent most of our time out exploring the island but if you want to spend much time at the resort, make sure you check out the other options before making your decision.

Clean rooms, good central location to restaurants within the other hotels on the strip and Whalers Village. Basic pool/hot tubs but quieter environment than the other resorts rec areas and some sound and line of sight privacy hedges between the pools which helps make it feel less crowded and more private.

The flats were spacious with well equipped kitchens. Loved having grill access near the pool. The ability to BBQ beachside was an unexpected treat.Since it isnt a big resort the hub bub of activities at the pool was kept to a minimum, which was a plus for us. Would return to this same place again in the future.

This review does not take into consideration price, merely the experience. The unit was immaculate, with newer appliances and granite counter tops. The feel was contemporary and had all amenities I have at home. The only caveat was the small washer/dryer, but that is better than nothing. No bar or restaurant but the options are plentiful and within walking distance. There is a fantastic grilling area that is complemented with a herb garden. No need to buy a whole container of thyme or rosemary when there is a large bush growing in the garden. The view is spectacular. The beach is sand, but only about 50 feet deep. This is great for Maui but a lot less than what is expected from other tropical destinations.

This is an amazing condo association! The rooms are excellent and ours has a full kitchen two beds and two baths. Outside one bathroom they have another sink which helps when multiple people have to get ready at the same time. The beach view is amazing and the pool is top notch!

Fantastic condos that feel like a home away from home. Garden view, mountain view, ocean view it doesnt matter all views are great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool area was nice and I appreciated that both the pool and jacuzzi were equipped to be handicap accessible. Beach was steps away and Whalers Villages shops and restaurants were a short walk away.

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as family. Diana checked us in taking extra care to ensure we were comfortable and had everything for our stay. Then Chris took us to our room unpacked our groceries, showed us around, ensured we had the WiFi password, and knew how to wirk the TV, thermostat, fridge etc. our room is beautifully furnished. It’s very roomy, a master bedroom, a den with sliding doors, two bathrooms and a laundry room. We have a beautiful ocean view and it’s very peaceful on our lanai. We’re so thankful to spend this time unwinding and filling our souls with the Aloha spirit

The resort itself is beautiful. Older structure but clean and well kept. The staff is amazing. The location of my room was the problem. Construction. Caused me so much stress. Could not open windows, for fresh air or to hear birds. Could not be in our apartment during the day! Front desk did not care. Heartbroken.

The place is great! Right on the Beach! Great views! The employees mission was to make sure we had a great time.

Rooms are like condos

Pretty nice condo units. No food or bars on the property, but there are plenty close by. Beautiful property and surroundings. Good location for walking the beach or boardwalk. Golf, restaurants, mall, etc within a short walk.

Placed on a beautiful beach. Not very friendly personnel at reception desk. Our suite with a so called garden view was actually a suite with a garage/parking view. The fact that the resort does not have a single restaurant or a bar at least is a big minus. Luckily enough stayed there only for three nights. Will certainly not go back to this place.

The condo was very large with all the amenities. The furnishings were a little dated, but acceptable. The service was great. Ive stayed at majority of the resorts along the kaanapali strip and this is probably one of the quieter ones which is perfect as we came here with a 11 month old infant. Overall I have been very pleased with this condo/resort.

Super place to stay on Maui. Excellent rooms with full kitchen, family room and spacious bedroom with awesome view. This resort is right on water. Great staff and daily room services. All appliances are upscale. Dont look any further. This is a best place to stay.

Very nice condo complex. Pool is nice though not very large. Water and coffee provided poolside but other than that no options for food or drink. Plenty of grills are available with a nice little herb garden. Condos are very spacious

From day one the staff were very friendly! We had ocean view one bedroom with den which had a queen bed. Very spacious, clean and overlooked the pool area. They made my birthday a very special trip. We dined in one night and the food was fabulous! I would give a very high recommendation to lodge here. You are in walking distance of everything.

Extraordinary place, and amazing people. Very clean, very beautiful views. Great pool and services all around. Not to mention the fitness center, tennis courts, and massage staff! This is a slice of heaven and in the true spirit of Aloha. Highly recommended.

WE had breakfast at Leilanis on the Beach our first day on Maui. Great food, really good service and stunning views. We were seated quickly and the menu had a wide selection. Coffee was terrific (so important after 12 hour flights) and it was the perfect start to our Maui vacation.

Outstanding views of the ocean and mountains of Maui. The beach in front of the hotel is world class. The pool is also excellent, if you dont like sand. A couple minutes walk to great restaurants and whalers village.

Amazing condo, billed as garden view but has that plus full ocean view from the living room and balcony. Check in was simple and organized by the most friendly and helpful staff. Whalers Village just a 10 minute walk down a beachside path with restaurants and shopping. Thus far exceeds every expectation.

Truly an amazing experience. This resort is always on top of their game. The rooms are in perfect shape, the pool is very well maintained and the staff is always very nice!

Nice units, nice but small pool. Pool is good for adults and relatively boring for kids, as far as hotel pools go. Pool and beach area is great overall. Love the outdoor grilling area which is available for guests and includes an expert chef to help cook for the guests if they desire.

This place is beautiful. Ive had great interactions with the staff and the room is amazing. They have a large pool area and its right next to the beach. The bellmen have been professional and kind. There isnt any food at the pool anymore but we were able to walk next door and order food and drinks from the Marriott and bill it to our room.

Its really perfect....great for families, great amenities, rooms are big, service is great. You cant get a better location, we walked to Whalers Village and ran on the running paths every day. Just a few minutes from Front Street...I very highly recommend

The 2 bedroom condo we stayed in had a gorgeous view and lots of amenities. The have some book and dvds (although a little outdated) you can use. The pool is nice, not as impressive as some of the neighboring hotels but still good. It closes at 9 every night, which sends a little early. They have grills and if you provide the meat, the on staff grill master will cook your meal. Overall we have enjoyed our stay.

Not as good as the previous times I was here. The place above was under construction the whole time. 1000$ a night to here power tools all day. They shut off the elevator without notice and told me to walk up 6 flights of stairs with my luggage. I was happier at the Ritz

Booked it via costco travel. It was a very nice deal and free parking!Rooms is big, and kitchen and living room, dinning room as well.The pictures on costco travel are only ok, but it is definitely nicer in person.

Okay maybe its me but the condo smells like mold and the dresser drawers smell worse. Now my clothes smell. Beautiful unit but feels dirty.. . Perfect location. If I were staying longer I would have left but just a short trip 4 nights.

My family and I had an amazing stay at this resort! The kitchen had everything we needed for our vacation and the location is right on the beach. The pools were awesome with great west facing views and the grills were also great. The beach was never too crowded even though there are many resorts near by. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Loved this place. Right on the beach, good views, clean, and friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again (Id love to own a place here, if possible) 😁 they are not a hotel, so no food, bars, shops, etc. The concierge has a small selection of snacks and drinks, but theyre pricey.Overall, its a great place, hubby made a great find!

We have stayed at the Alii twice, and we will probably return. The location on Kaanapali Beach is great, and it is nice to be able to walk to Whalers Village for dining and shopping. It is basically a condominium complex, and I think some of the units are even used as full-time primary residences by their owners. The units are large and nicely furnished. We dont usually want to cook very much while were on vacation, but we used the fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals for our son instead of worrying about finding something for him to eat at the restaurants. There are several large resorts adjacent to the Alii, and they seem much more crowded and noisy by comparison. The Alli feels more laid back, quiet, and casual to us. There are no on-site bars or restaurants, but apparently a limited room service menu is available for delivery from the adjacent Westin. There are several nice grills in the pool area, but weve never cooked on them. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pools are great, but not as huge or fancy as some of the neighboring resorts. The property is also beautifully landscaped. The Alii is perfect for us.

A stunning yet simple property. The perfect antidote the the over-crowded resort. We love the spacious units and the beach side BBQs to cook most meals on our trip.The oceanfront and ocean views are amazing too.

Rooms are beautiful with full set of appliances, room service comes every day. Theres a normal pool and a quiet pool along with two hot tubs. Also a tennis court among many other great things. Kaanapali beach has good waves for surfing or you can walk down to black rock to snorkel and have a sandy beach.

I love this place. It is very nice, i like the fact there isnt a restaurant nor spa. Great grills outside. Great location too.

Some of the best rooms Ive ever stayed in. Very clean. All the staff are nice. Be aware they do not allow floats or inflatable rafts in either pool. I wish they allowed them in one of the pools because young kids like them. WiFi uses a four character password which some android devices will not support. They should up their encryption and increase their password length. Proximity to Whalers Village makes the location excellent for a Kaanapali vacation. They have a bunch (eight?) grills near the pool which are a nice amenity.

Best stay! We stayed in 1-bedroom suite but it is literally a two-bedroom! Two queen beds and two full bathrooms. About 1300 sqft, massive! Definitely worth the money! Highly recommend it!

I wouldnt want to stay anywhere else. The condos are modern, spacious, clean, and have incredible views. They have a very nice pool area with two pools and two hot tubs as well as a grilling area with multiple grills. Plenty of eating and shopping within walking distance, and right on the beach.

We spent 6 days here. Long enough to get a good flavor. The quality of our 2 bedroom unit was just fine and has most of the updates you need to feel like you are getting your moneys worth.

Left cold, cold, cold Eastern Washington to stay at this warm, accommodating, very friendly luxury condo. Every employee greeted me as if they genuinely were glad I was there. The rooms are beautiful. I will stay here again.

Ive been going here since before I could even walk and am still impressed with it today. Theyve remodeled their pool a couple times and make significant improvements every time. I enjoy hanging out in the hot tub late at night, as many others do too, and Ive made lots of new friends. The proximity to the (very well kept up) beach with great snorkeling is a very nice feature. The rooms were incredible, and included all the amenities needed (plus a gorgeous view). Staff friendly and made conversion during all elevator rides. Overall nothing new and crazy but what they do, they do incredibly.

Kannapali is a great location in Maui. Condo was beautiful, has everything you want. Very well maintained pool, patio and beach areas.

I have had a great time. Every one here is wonderful. My husband and I liked that we had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer and are close to other resorts.

Lovely condo. All of the benefits of being in Kaanapali without all of the crowds of being in a huge hotel. Really nice staff.

This central location has it all! Accommodations are outstanding as are the amenities. We could walk to the beach in three minutes and then there at the beach was Scott from 1800snorkel ready to assist with all of our surf needs. We spent most of our two weeks right here enjoying the beach, pool, work out room, Whalers Village, Starbucks, and long majestic walks to Lahaina where we often saw many turtles among the rocks. We love it so much we would love to be owners.

Havent concluded our stay yet, but so far everything is above satisfactory. Ample kitchen ware and cutlery. Shower runs well. Comfortable beds. Cant ask for much more.

Overall the rooms and accommodations are nice. Two pools are also nice, one is more kid friendly and the other is geared toward adults with a bar and towel-swap near by. One thing I will say is that the suite we stayed in was a bit dated, and the front door stuck along with two outlets dying in the bathroom. When we checked into the room we were met by a maintenance man trying to fix a leak, and since we were about to go in the room he said he would fix it when we checked out, so we had a puddle on the floor the entire stay. Im not super picky, but Im sure these experiences would turn some people off so I thought I would mention them. Beyond that its relatively easy to get in and out of if youre going out on activities and such. Lyft picks up at the lobby.
