Although I did not end up renting the leasing staff was helpful, friendly and wonderful! They were communicative and understood my needs. The apartments were beautiful! I decided a house was a better fit for me in the end. I would highly recommend these apartments to anyone. The property was very clean and well maintained.

For My boyfriend and I, this is our first apartment together! We count not have chosen a better pace to live and for our animals as well. We have great access to all of our local shops, the location of the complex is super close to I5 which is great for work.Crystal was and still is amazing, we loved working with her from the beginning, she super friendly and out going, she is really easy to talk with about any questions we had, she never made us feel unwelcome or unheard about what we were looking for. We gave her a list of things that we needed for what we were looking for and just like magic the first unit that we looked at is everything we wanted! I loved how she was really patient with us and explained every step that we needed to do. Mat the manger of the complex, he runs a very efficient and clean complex.Maddison, I know she is still very new to the staff, I believe she will have a very bright future with work at the Marq! I can’t wait to see her grow!

The Marq has some of the nicest apartments in Lacey! My fiancé got relocated out of town due to work, otherwise I would have loved to move in! The people who talked with us and gave us a tour were great, especially Madison. They were very communicative and transparent with us. Ill be recommending my local Lacey friends to look into the Marq if they go apartment hunting!!

The apartment complex is in a convenient location with decent amenities. The interior and exterior of the apartments are well maintained and appear nice. Unfortunately there is a large homeless population that lives in the woods around the complex. If you are a light sleeper you need to either be in a top floor apartment or find somewhere else to live.

Where to start.. well first off, no notices for “property inspections” is a good start. Imagine being in the middle of a meeting when a group of people barge in to take photos of your place.Parking is also a mess. Good luck finding a parking spot unless you pay for covered parking which is extra.Oh and to top it off, you get to pay an extra $5/mo for the ‘convenience’ of having a combined water/trash/sewer (that’s also extra).

Its a nice looking apartment inside and out. However you can never get them to answer the phone rules are not kept and nothing is done about it. Listen you do you in your own space but when it encroaches into my apartment it needs to stop. The amount of pot and cigarette smell is so bad we cant open our windows in the evening. We have family members with asthma so its bad for their house not to mention that this is a non-smoking property. This has been brought to the attention of the apartment more times than I can count and I will be going down right now to complain again because I wont answer the phone.

Ive been living at The Marq for about six months now and LOVE it here. The amenities and grounds are well-kept, and the apartments themselves are just as beautiful. Aesthetics in my living space are important to me, and these are easily the best-designed apartments in their price range. Not only is this a beautiful place to live and close to the thriving hub of Hawks Prairie, the efforts to maintain an engaged community here go a long way towards making you feel that you are a valued tenant and neighbor. The staff is professional, efficient, and in my experience thoroughly accommodating. Would absolutely recommend touring The Marq on Martin if youre looking for a new apartment in the Olympia/Lacey area.

The cons outweigh the pros when it comes to The Marq. First of all, the location is not bad - close to all of the Hawks Prairie shopping. However, The Marq is right in the mushroom farms backyard and the smell of manure permeates throughout the entire property almost every day - especially in the early morning and evening. This was our biggest complaint (and the reason we moved out), the smell of manure actually seeped inside of our apartment on an almost nightly basis and it got to be too much.I will say, the staff - especially Zach, are very friendly and accomodating but getting them to answer their phone or call you back when you leave a voicemail can be a big challenge. We just moved out (after only living there 1 month) and only received part of our security deposit back. Evidently, this was beause of carpet cleaning charges even though we were only there for a month and the only carpet in the entire aprtment was in the bedroom and it was left spotless, just as we found it on the day we moved in.All in all, I would not recommend The Marq. I could go on and on about the lack of storage in the kitchen, the bums that walk through the green space behind the apartment and stare in your window and shout at you when youre on your patio, all of the garbage and an old, dirty mattress that made up our backyard view from our patio (see attached picture) - but Ill let you be the judge if you come to tour.

Costco, Home Depot, dog park, all within minutes. I really could not be happier with this place at the moment. My husband is stationed here in the Army, so hes been here a little over a year now, and Ive been here since last summer. Weve both been really happy here. Maintenance has always been on top of everything. Weve rarely had any issue in our apartment, but even for a minor light bulb change, they are quick and always so nice. I love the gym. Its small, but it has everything I need. The pool is great in the summer. I love the natural light in the apartment and its good use of space. While it is expensive, I think thats just pretty much par for the course here in Washington. Coming from Texas, weve just had to get used to the rise in cost of living. This area feels so safe, and its just a short walk from major shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. Im really glad we chose these apartments.

I am employed here as a maintenance tech. I am very impressed with a few things at this property. First the lighting for these places are great! I enjoy the gatherings that happen throughout the month as well. The smell is there but it comes and goes which does not bother me too much. The lay out of the two bedroom with the bar is really nice and I like how the whole unit is not just carpet which helps keep the place cleaner. The spa is nice and clean! I would recommend family and friends to live here!

We are in love with Mrs. Van ! Where do I begin ?! We are a military family and are moving to Washington soon. We went down there a few weeks ago with the intention to find a home. We were looking around different cities and found Lacey to be perfect. What a beautiful city. We noticed the Marq and decided to stop there first. It not only looked amazing, but the location is superb. All the best restaurants and stores are literally within walking distance. Ideal if you only have one car or are waiting for yours to arrive. The property was very well maintained and since I noticed some of the reviews on here, I decided to add more info after our visit. I did not notice any mess, smell or any other issues that would not make me pick this complex. In addition, you will always have people who complain about everything, no matter what they have, where they live or what they do. Simply don’t judge a book by its cover and make your own opinion. Besides that, this is Washington and most areas are not like a city environment, but more so nature, green and animals. They have four seasons here and coming from a city environment with no green, we are looking forward to any kind of forest / wood / nature smell should there ever even be any. So I think some may have to adapt and understand that. The other cities nearby looked like straight criminal areas with high crime rates, dirty and in bad shape. I rather smell something, but live safe, especially having a child. This complex made us all feel very safe. The amenities are amazing and I am looking forward to using them. However, the icing on the cake was Mrs. Van. What an amazing woman. She not only took her time with us, but also went out of her way and told us about some of the schools/ parks / lakes etc . other things nearby. I always have a million questions and some might get annoyed, but this is a service, our money, our life so therefore, I feel like I should be allowed to ask anything I want to and Mrs. Van was the most patient property staff member I have ever met. She is very kind and knowledgeable and pretty much sold us on this apartment complex and we decided to not look any further, not just because of all the things I mentioned earlier, but simply knowing that she works there and I can always reach out, makes me already feel like I am at home. Finding people like this is very rare and I hope she gets a promotion or rather continues to work there. I wanted to take my time and thank her for her excellent service. We can not wait to see her again and move! We are beyond excited.

We recently came in to see these apartments. As we were walking to the entrance a maintenance guy came out stating that the manager is at lunch and that she will be back in 45 minutes. We had driven an hour to get to the location so we decided to wait in the car till the manager came back. An hour and a half passed after we talked to the guy, the place was still closed and there was no sign of a manager. Very inappropriate.

My girlfriend and I lived here for a few months before recently moving out to another apartment complex in Lacey. I will point out a few things regarding this place that I think are necessary to know if you are looking to rent here:1) Apartment themselves:Pros: Newly built and rarely required maintenance. I never ended up meeting the maintenance staff.Cons:-We lived in a first floor apartment and we heard every single step our upstair neighbors took. The walls are hair thin so also be prepared to hear your noisy neighbors.-We had a pot smoker in the building and that wasnt very pleasant.-People drive very fast in the complex so always pay extra attention especially if you have pets. Also, people have enjoy revving their cars in the middle of the night, so be prepared to hear that.2) THE MUSHROOM SMELL IS PRESENTWe moved out towards the end of last year and we had heard that the farm is closing at the end of 2019; however, we recently visited a few stores nearby and the smell is still present and as strong as ever.3)Amenities:Overall good! We had our own grill so we didnt use theirs and we had gym memberships so again the gym wasnt an issue for us. We did, however, use the pool during the summer when we could (aka when it didnt smell like absolute sewer) and it was always clean. At the end of the day, it is your decision. I find it unfair to be bad mouthing the staff when all of these comments are available for your review. Dont sign a lease of almost 2K and come online to complain about how you are paying a fortune to smell sewer. Nobody forced you to sign anything. You shouldve evaluated that before you moved in.

I am very excited to be moving OUT of these apartments. A year ago, the original management was friendly and made it a point to make sure you were happy. The management has gone through some changes but they’re friendly for the most part. I’ve had some weird interactions with people on the weekends but they’re nice.but The parking is absolutely terrible and the prices are outrageous. When I originally moved in, my 1 bedroom 1 bath was $1350 (still expensive) but now if I want to renew my lease they want $1500! for a third floor apartment, next to a mushroom farm that smells absolutely awful. They are cheaply made and you can find something nicer for less money somewhere else.If you can avoid this place, please do. The convenience of being by the stores is not worth the trouble it is to live at the Marq.

I am surprised to see the low rating here on google. My wife and I moved in 2 months ago and we love this place. I am active duty Army stationed on Ft Lewis and the location is very convenient for me. This is my first time renting off post and Ashley worked diligently with me to make sure I was getting the best deal possible. My fellow tenants have been very friendly and there is always someone out walking a dog, as the Marq is very pet friendly.Pros- The staff are OUTSTANDING. Ashley and Matthew will go out of their way to give you the best management and renting experience and make sure they do whatever they can to take care of you.- The property is smoke free which I love.- Great location. Every store you could need (ex; Costco, Walmart, Safeway, LA Fitness, Walgreens, Best Buy and numerous restaurants) are all within a mile of the location.- Units have a sleek, sharp aesthetic with modern appliances, and come in a variety of choices. The only con is that the nearby mushroom farms can smell awful.Overall I am very happy with my experience and would highly recommend.

The Marq changed managements around June 2018 and has gone completely downhill since then. The apartments look nice on the outside, but are cheaply made and are ill fitted. There are paint splatters left by construction and some areas of the rooms are unpainted. Counter tops are very cheap and are uncovered on the bottom.Since the new management, garbage has been consistently overflowing, and grass is cut once a month at most. I have not seen the stairwells cleaned in over a year. The Marq use to run a poo prints program, but the new management nixed it to save money that your pet fees are paying in to. Groundskeeping rarely picks up the dog poop and often lets the poop cans overflow. The Marq claims to be a non smoking community, but every building has smokers/pot smokers smoking either in the building or on the patio. The management ignores all complaints about smokers by either feigning ignorance or pretending to address the issue. Also since the new management took over, almost all the amenities are either broken or run down. The coffee machine has been out of service for the past 3 months and is not available for use unless the front office is open. The grills are no longer functional since the control knobs have been broken off. The hot tub is lukewarm at most and is murky and grimy. The pool is only available for two months in the year. The manager refuses to see any customers during her lunch time and will often ignore people who are waiting. All of the employees who acted in the interest of the customers have either quit or have been fired.I would not pay more than $900 let alone the $1,600 per month they charge for a 2 bedroom 12 month contract.

Since new management took over this place has gone down hill fast. The new manager has quite the attitude. I wish I would have known they were selling, I would never have signed the lease for another year.We also read the mushroom farm had moved there fertilizing process to another location and the smell seemed to be gone for a while. Well low and behold not the case. You cant open your windows at night due to the smell of what seems like burning fertilizer. The smell is absolutely repulsive. You cant use your air conditioner because the smell blows right through it. So no Air and over 85 degrees in the apartment.Parking is horrible, the cement stairs and landings are filthy. The new grounds keepers dont do a good job. The grounds are going down hill quickly. The hot tub looks merky.I will say maintenance was very polite and helpful when he came to look at my washer.Katie of course is still as sweet as ever.I do not recommend this apartment complex. It should be in the 800 to 900 dollar a month rental fee. Not 1300.00 at the moment fee. NOT WORTH IT!!

Out of everything here the only remotely acceptable thing is the Maintenance staff. The entire property smells like sewer 24/7. The garbages are overflowing every day of the week. Out of the 50+ dogs on the property only about 2 pick up the dog ----. The construction is sub par and the insulation is nonexistent. Trying to heat your sewer smelling apartment will cost you a fortune as even the heating system is the worst they could find for under $100 while building this useless complex. On top of the electrical heating system they managed to install all electric water heaters so be prepared to #1 be freezing during any Power outage #2 pay more in electricity cost then you pay rent per month. Next the service and up-selling. The moment you show interest in the apartment you will be bombarded with emails and if you even for a second consider purchasing insurance that The Marq on Martin does not get a cut from then you will be in for a long uphill fight. Now after all this you are ready to go to bed but wait, there is noise around you 24/7 not just the construction all around, traffic and the constant light coming into your bedroom will keep you up but also your neighbors sleeping as the missing insulation will make sure you can hear every single word from EVERYONE within 300 feet or more. I have made a few mistakes in my life, moving here was the biggest mistake hands down! Avoid this place at ALL Cost

The positive: beautiful landscaping and interior, modern, monthly events, five minutes away from whatever you need, and close to i5. And now to the negative. I wanted to address the smell since some reviews talk about that. The smell never really bothered us (weve lived in Lacey for a while). I cant quite count that against the apartment complex since they also warned us beforehand. Its something thats pretty hard to miss if you visit the area. My biggest qualm is that they make knowing what the exact amount you owe them everyone month extremely difficult. I feel like this falls more on the management company instead of the front office staff themselves. Do you want us to use your website to pay you? Use another website? Make that incredibly clear when your residents move in, so you dont screw over people when theyre trying to leave the complex later. At the end of the day, theyre like most apartment complexes and really try to squeeze money out of you. Our move out process has been stressful, honestly, and now theyve added on fees because we apparently didnt initially pay those even though we paid out almost $2k on move in day. This is putting my family in a tight spot and we dont appreciate that. This alone makes me think less of the complex. Disorganized is the appropriate word for how they run things. This move it has been more complicated than it needs to be.I’d like to edit to note that Zach, the manager, has been helpful in “righting” the areas where we feel wronged and screwed over.

Stay away from this place!!!My friend had the misfortune of renting at The Marq. My friend isn’t the review writing type, but I most certainly am!The units are cheaply thrown together and masked to appear as modern and chic, meanwhile, the “breakfast bars” seem to be a last minute thought/addition that consist of thrown together pieces of plywood, covered in cheap laminate. This same cheap theme is applied to the floors and wall paint. The units get ridiculously dusty! So, if you dare rent there, be prepared to sweep and practice the damp dusting technique constantly! The units are noisy. The surrounding structure of the units consist of thin barriers. There are patios and balconies, but you won’t get much use of them unless you have no sense of smell. The putrid smell of the mushroom farm nearby doesn’t allow for much of a “fresh air” environment.Management is lazy, uncaring, removed and incompetent. Not to mention, sneaky.I could go on for days, because boy oh boy does my friend have the stories to do so!!!Just take heed and avoid at all costs!! Which by the way, the cost in itself is the main problem! 1500-1600 for small, subpar, faulty, janky units and horrible management ?!?I think not !

When I first moved in, the Marq was an ideal location, staff, and place to live. However, with the change of management, that was short lived. They are poor at communication and require several phone calls on the renter’s end to receive poorly informed answers and ridiculous benign charges at move-out. The apartments have subpar finishes, easily hear your neighbors conversations through the walls, and inconsistent with trash pick-up, lawn maintenance, and rental enforcement. The Marq was a place I use to live living. Sadly, I would not recommend them now.

When this place first opened the staff was nice, and then they were taken over by a staff that doesn’t care. I don’t want to go into the staff much as they can change o we time. What does not change is the smell from the mushroom farm....you are pretty much backed up to the mushroom farm. If you have not smelled a mushroom farm before, trust me when I say you will never eat another mushroom again. Your whole apartment will smell bad, your clothes, your car, and this is the kind of smell that will have you throwing up. They charge way too much for a single bed room and car port. For the money I moved further way from the mushroom farm, have a two bedroom, with a free carport so why not. Current place has granite tops on everything, a real refrigerator that has a place to get ice and water from the door, real carpet...I’ll get into that. So the MARQ has cheap counter tops, luckily they never had an issue. The refrigerator is small and ice maker is horrible. You can’t use a a/c unit without the breaker tripping, or open your windows because of the smells. The carpet was extremely cheap and looked dirty day one...I was the first person in the unit. When I moved out they charged me 600$ to replace to carpet which is crazy seeing how small the room was and the fact that the carpet looked dirty Day one. I do not wear shoes indoor, but that doesn’t mean the staff doesn’t...many times when I was raining they would walk in to do an inspection shoes in. They left muddy shoe print on the cheap carpet lol to help out on the situation. I am still arguing about the carpet situation but they do not even respond with to me, and all I have head is they will report me for not paying when I all want is to see the reason. The walls are paper thin, never in all of my time in apartments have I heard more noise. I wanted a car port closer to the apartment, but was told that is was already purchased and they wouldn’t look to see who had it....I lived there a year and no one vet parked I that spot, it once! All o can say is avoid this place like the plague.

●Terrible location. This place is located in the spot where the smell of the mushroom farm sits. In the summer you cant open your window in the evening because the whole apartment will smell.●Horrible management. The management here takes time out of their day to put invitations on our door for little events they have at least once a week. But when there was going to be construction work being done on our building at 9am not even an email or a call. The workers were literally knocking our stuff over in the shower from how hard they were hammering. My daughter of 11mo had been sick all night and had finally started to catch some sleep when the banging started.●The trash!!!The trash situation keeps getting worse and worse. Pretty soon the unwated wildlife is going to start showing up. Therere only 2 dumpsters for 3 buildings. Which means they get over flow in 3 days after they get picked up. There is trash everywhere. And all management has to say about it is look for another place to throw trash away. And continues to charge us more each month.●Parking!Only a few parking spots around the building. And all are 1st come 1st serve. For 3 buildings. They did not think it through. There are at least 2 times the units than parking spots.Sorry The Marq,Cant wait for my lease to end!

Horrible apartments... The first week we moved into our apartment, the toliet was clogged due to cleaning lady flushing clorox wipes, the breaker kept going out in the kitchen whether we used the microwave to pop popcorn or just simply using the outlets. We notified the maintenance that the seal to the back door was backwards and never was fixed. The tile floor started popping up, and let me tell you if you have allergies to dust THESE APARTMENTS ARE NOT FOR YOU. They collect so much dust its ridiculous. These apartments are expensive (1350 + a month for 1 bed) I would consider them wanna be boujie on a budget. Another con is that I could hear everything my neighbors did (from all sides) mostly from my upstairs neighbors stomping on the floor as if they were Hagrid from harry potter wearing boots all around the apartment all hours of the night. The mushroom farm is definitely not a pleasant smell. Parking is such a HASSLE, youd think that with all these apartments, youd have enough parking spaces or a side lot to park, but nope.. Having to park two or three buildings down from my apartment because people who dont live in my building like to park infront of my building. Tried to entertain guest by using the grill for a cookout (asked to use grill hours in advance) and was told that the grill needed to be cleaned and was service to be cleaned before use. Once guest arrived and set up, opened the grill and it was filthy. Asked if there was a brush for the grill that I could use to clean it myself but they said that someone had broken it and didnt know when they would get another. So it was a total embarrassment... people who live here are also just dirty in general. went to go get a cup of hot chocolate and the person infront of me not only left the counter covered in coffee but also broke the machine and wasnt able to get anything for myself. The only good things about these apartments is the bi weekly parties (if they dont run out of food by the time you arrive) and theres good lighting in the living room/kitchen. If you dont mind hassling with any of these problems that I came across with then these are the apartments for you!

I have lived here since august 15th. They have been absolutely amazing. They have obviously made significant improvements since their first building went up. The floors are not slippery. I have a 6 year old daughter and this little 2 bedroom is perfect for us. Havent noticed any black mold. Only thing I noticed wrong was that one of my light bulbs was burnt out after I moved in, which was easily replaced. The staff as been extremely accommodating. I dont have a printer yet, and needed something printed off so I sent it to the email from one of the office workers, and asked if they would print it off for me. They replied back and said thats not a problem at all we will have it waiting for you at the office when you come down. They have also aloud me to use the copier a couple of times. Thankyou so much to the marq staff, yall are amazing! This has been extremely stressful move for me to get out here due to I moved out here and know absolutely no one, and everyone being so nice has definitely eased the stress. They are super dog friendly here. And the grounds that are finished are very well maintained.

I rarely give feedback on anything but living at the marq was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever dealt with. Design: They appear modern and classy until you take a closer look. Unbelievably cheaply built, especially for the cost. Want to hear your neighbors sneeze, close a drawer, argue? This place is for you. You so much as move a plate on the countertops and they scratch. Doors aren’t properly sealed, shower glass was misplaced, floors peeling up. The list goes on and on. Management: in the beginning before they switched company’s we were very pleased, after the change we have random fees, a confusing online portal and don’t forget the b.s. you deal with when you move out. Parking: unless you want to pay unrealistic prices for a garage or covered area, you’re screwed. Couldn’t tell you how many times I was 2-3 buildings away from my apartment. We were SO excited to move in but never have I ever been SO glad to move out. Along with the move out.. don’t bother cleaning to get a deposit back you get charged on top of that an additional $280+. They say the deposit was the first month of untilities? I’m sorry but it is not $200 for utilities. Also, what kind of a rip off is that? The smell is god awful. Kids will need headphones to block out the neighbors getting busy throughout the night due to the lack of insulation in the walls. I really wish I was writing a positive review but dont waste your money on this place. Horrible new management, cheap build, no parking, high-cost and additional charges throughout the stay and move out. Not worth it. People writing positive reviews most likely only are looking at it from the street, not living in it.

With them selling it and a new management company taking over it has all gone downhill. We moved out in July, thank Goodness. The move out was in the middle of the transition, so half of it went well and the last half not so much. They charge a ridiculous amount. Lost my move out notice(luckly i had emails with previous management about move out), i had to call multiple times to find out what i needed to pay for last months rent. Im writing this review today because apparently we have a balance owing for clean up of the appartment. Which i was never notified of, and that they have sent to it collection. I never recieved a call, email or letter. When i spoke to the collection company they threatened me said i had more then a 30 day notice. How did i have 30day notice when they sent their own notice to the apartment i no longer live in. I dont even live in the same state. I asked for a copy of the letter, he cant provide it to me. I told him i would need the 30 days to pay it since i am no longer working due to a high risk pregnancy. I was told that it wasnt his problem and i would try to cheat the system to get out of paying and i was already given 30 days to pay. I told i would call the Marq directly and try to talk to them. He said good luck with that they are sending you right back to me. I did say, if that was the case i would call back and talk to his manager. He said he was going to flag my account, because i was refusing to pay(not the case), sending it to credit reporting and he was the manager then hung up on me (i am being nice with the wording, as i was crying by the end of the call). Find a better place to live, they will nickle and dime you for everything. I have tried to reach out to the Marq as usual nobody answers the phone.

My boyfriend just moved into The MARQ on Martin and I must say, from the outside looking in, they seem nice and well kept compared to other apartment complexes in neighboring areas, unfortunately not the case! On his first night in his unit he discovers a flea infestation.I was there with him and there were fleas hopping everywhere. He emails management asap and they respond the next business day by basically implying lightly that they didnt have the issue prior to him being there and for him to vacuum. This is clearly a lie. One, he has no pets and two they were everywhere! Upon further investigation we find a pile of pet hair under the water heater in the laundry room. A few fleas actually landed on my foot while walking in the bathroom which seems to have the worst of the infestation. Management says they dont have a contracted exterminator but they will contact the exterminator they currently rely on. He wasnt able to come to the unit until 3 days after and when he arrives, my boyfriend stayed to talk with him and witness his treatment plan. The exterminator sees all the damage control and preventative measures my boyfriend took on his own behalf and commends him for it. Management didnt commend his efforts but instead told him he may cause a bigger problem. How insensitive and utterly rude! After my boyfriend shows pest control the amount of dead fleas he Swiffered up, the exterminator tells him that the problem clearly was there a while before we even entered the unit especially since the fleas were in places he didnt foresee or make sense of. This information conflicts with what management claims. They make unintelligent comments about how they are educated on the matter yet they say people were in there for hours on varied days without being bitten. Mind you, the exterminator himself says one can not feel a flea bite so what knowledge do they have? Also, before moving in, they told my boyfriend the unit wouldnt be ready for weeks, yet they claim they were using it to show as a model to others. Sounds like contradicting information to me. My boyfriend has only stayed one night in his unit because of the issue. He asked for another unit he could move to after his belongings were treated and all management offered was for someone to come in and vacuum every day for a week when the pest control told him hed see fleas for weeks after treatment. They also told him pest control only found two fleas, which is a complete and utter lie, so he went to the office with one of many ziplock bags of dead fleas he collected from the unit. Once management sees the evidence, their only offer was a free carport. This is ridiculous that someone would have to pay someone an unjustified amount of money for a tiny one bedroom unit that is covered with fleas and then be treated as if its normal or that they are at fault! Especially someone with no pets at all. Someone who didnt even spend a full day in a unit. I find it deeply disturbing and upsetting that a person cant have a safe and sanitary place to live with a supporting community or a management team who shows empathy and human like understanding. Apartments are increasing in expense but not value.I have videos of dead fleas lying on the floors of his unit, its disgusting!!!I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Especially a pet owner, if my boyfriend is dealing with this with no pets, imagine if he had one! (Btw, there are tons of dog owners in this neighborhood!)**** Update: As a half brained, lack of effort attempt to “resolving” the issue, they offered to vaccum the unit for a week... they only showed up 3 times and one of the 3 times they couldn’t vacuum because my boyfriend was showering and it was towards end of day so they didn’t have time to come back... despicable.Guess you can say they miss THE MARK when it comes to satisfying their paying tenants! What a shame !

1. You must know that the smell from the mushroom farm behind the apts is overwhelming at times. It smells like sewer. There is no AC unit in the apts, so you have to open your windows for fresh air. Impossible when its smelling outside. It wreaks on your clothes, furniture, car interior, everything. It smelled nice the day we rented or we would not have leased there.2. The Marq used to be very well maintained--everything was clean and pristine. The hot tub worked the entire time we lived there, until new owners and management came in a couple of months ago... As part of the amenities, it would have been nice to use it the last 2 months we were there, but it was not maintained correctly and smelled like mildew. Lots of things are not maintained like they used to be...crews of maintenance and landscapers worked very hard to keep the complex very clean and tailored in the past. I guess the new owners have created a budget that doesnt accommodate that classy feel that the Marq was known for.3. Management is poor at best...previous manager, Zach was amazing. Friendly and helpful, always walking around the grounds checking things out and talking to residents. He made the Marq his place for exceptional care. Katie, Alora, all were so nice and helpful.Fast forward to new manager--Casey (sp) She sits in her dark office, blinds shut, lights off most of the time and door locked--like a personal cave. True story: my husband asked a few questions about our move out. Ashley didnt know--she went to open Caseys office door to ask the manager and the door was locked. Rather than get up and open the door for Ashley (maybe 5 feet) Ashley had to go back to her desk and get a key to unlock managers door. Spoke with Casey, she couldnt come out and greet my husband at all, but stayed sitting in her cave. Ashley had to go ask another question and, again, had to go back and get a key from her desk, since manager couldnt possible get out of her chair and open the office door for her. My husband just stood there amused at the whole scene...This manager will lie boldface to you about anything: the hot tub, the maintenance crews, everything. Dont trust anything she says. I sat with her and laid out all of my expenses for move out date. We calculated everything to the day of move out and I paid it. Move out date arrives and I get a call that we owe $650+ more on rent. After about an hour of back & forth and her saying that she perfectly remembered our calculations and I lied about having a garage and carport and didnt pay for them--the Marq ended up owing me money! We have a $200 deposit that we will probably never see, especially after this review. I dont know where this new manager came from, but beware of her tactics. If she gets her hands on your deposit, it may go for a very big fancy lunch in her dark office cave. The Marq used have great office hours and was open anytime I went there. Now it is closed often--literally--no one is there and its locked! The nice coffee or water bottles you used to drop by and get, has to wait until the staff decides to come back to the office. How do you run an apt complex like that? Ever hear of staggered lunches, like most of the business world?4. There are many professionals that live at The Marq. As time has gone on and especially this summer, the tenants have started to change dramatically. An afternoon at the pool can include drunks, pot smoking, filthy language and conversations. We had to check out who was there before bringing our family down to the pool this summer and of course, the hot tub was out of order. Cigarette butts have laid around our stairs for weeks and are probably still there.*This is what happens when new owners take over and cut the budget, bring in their own management and lower the classy standard that the Marq used to be. Im glad were gone at this point in the history of the complex. I have been brutally honest in my review as an Expert Google Guide. Things WERE great there, but no longer true, sadly...
