My kids have been going here for a couple of years. The owner is always reliable, courteous & friendly. He volunteers at the local schools teaching safety & simple self defense to the kids. He offers both child & adult instruction at his Kyle location. The helpers/instructors working with him are always friendly & work well with the kids. If youre looking for a great place to get in shape or boost your self confidence, heres your place! Its good for the whole family!

I recently visited the dojo to support my grandson at his belt test. As soon as I arrived, I was immediately greeted with a smile and a friendly, Hello! Looking around, I was impressed by the layout and decor of the establishment. Overall, it was a great atmosphere.As I watched the belt test process, I was also very happy to see that Sifu James Sparks not only tests his students on martial arts knowledge and skills, he also emphasizes qualities such as respect, honesty, and hard work. This is amazing! I am very pleased with what I saw, as well as my grandsons hard work and achievements both in his martial arts abilities and his overall growth in his understanding and display of qualities like respect and hard work.

Its a great dojo for getting into shape and learn self-defense techniques, and Ive been training there for about 3 to 4 years. I really enjoy how Sifu James Sparks and the fellow instructors trained me and the fellow students in Jeet Kune Do and the Chinese martial arts!

Sifu James Sparks is a caring and hardworking martial arts instructor who teaches his students not just Kung fu, but the very qualities he models such as caring, hard-work, discipline, dedication, and respect.My daughter has been a student at ATMAC since she was in kindergarten, and she has grown in her martial arts abilities and knowledge. She has also been able to be a kind, confident, and patient big sister as her brother begins on his martial arts journey as well.We live in Austin, so making the trip out Kyle can be a drive. To help his students gain access to quality martial arts instruction, Sifu James also comes out to my children’s elementary school and teaches a class there once a week as part of an on-campus after school program. In addition to our school, he also volunteers at other Kyle/ Buda area schools. Through this, my daughter and son have come to understand the importance of leadership, community, and everyday charitable deeds.I am excited to see what else is in store for them as they continue to thrive under Sifu James’s guidance and instruction.

We are so happy with ATMAC karate! Our son has been training for a year and a half (starting at age 6) and weve seen many positive results in behavior and physical strength. He is more focused, respectful and disciplined since beginning the class. Also, it is very affordable for 2x a week classes! We would definitely recommend ATMAC to other parents and cant wait for our youngest to join!

Sifu Sparks mixes discipline and humility to be that martial arts instructor everyone always wanted to take class from, and avoids any corporate, glossy dojo tactics. Every belt feels like it is earned, not bought, and theres never a push for upsell private classes or dojo-branded sparring gear, weapons, or nutritional supplements. Also, the dues are amongst the most reasonable of any dojo in the area. This is the 5th martial arts school Ive attended in the Austin area since moving here in the 80s and its by far my favorite.

Sifu James and his instructors do a great job in teaching traditional martial arts. Ive joined the adult class. As soon as little man is old enough he will be attending.

I have seen how and what they teach here and it has made be a true believer of ATMAC so much so I have decided to join their adult class. Sifu James is one of, if not the best, instructor in the Hays District area. He is very patient with all of his students, no matter age or other factors, and as one of his students, I feel like I accomplished something everyday I walk out his doors. I would highly recommend training in his dojo.

Sifu James and his staff are excellent instructors who not only teach the students the kung fu methods but also philosophy of discipline that leads to success inside and outside of the art. Like any excellent teacher, Sifu gets to know the students and connects with them personally. This is no belt factory- each belt up and stripe comes after the students make improvements to earn them. After doing my research a few years ago, we started our twins at ATMAC and still are very happy with our decision. So are the kids!
