Cheat college students out of $100 by targeting their vehicles in their legally paid for spot. You would think that towing occurs when someone calls about another vehicle being in their spot.. no not at this company. Guess the funds were getting a little low and they had to clear the lot!

This post is a follow up to the picture of the tire damage on Yelp.I found my paperwork from you that said no damage to my car when your company picked the car up.So you still continue to lie your driver done the damage.So far over 57,000 people seen the picture if I save one person from a rip-off like you . Successful on my part.

Needed a vehicle taken to the repair shop and they were there fast and I followed then straight to the shop. Thanks guys.

Two stars because there was no noticable damage once I got my car back from being towed. I undertsand towing companies have to exist for roadside assitance, accidents, and repos. However, having agreements with college appartment complexes has to be the most lucrative, made up way to make money that I have ever heard of. I was inside of an apartment complex for 45 minutes, and walked out to see that my car along with my phone and wallet had been convieniently yopped from the face of the earth. Eventually found the place with help of a friend. I walked inside to a lady who looked and acted as irritated as I felt being there. Oh and why would a place like this not take any from of card payment? Because that would simply be too easy. My inquires about how the tow-truck driver towed my car with the parking brake on and a full steering lock were met with grunts. Oh goody, thats reassuring. Im ranting now, but towing really is a shady way to make money, especially when youre taking from the pockets of financially strained college students.

I had a breakdown and needed towed more than 40 miles on a weekend night. The person I talked to on the phone and the driver were courteous and professional. Price I was told on the phone was same price I paid at pickup. My Jeep was handled well throughout the process. They also had no problem accepting a card. I have no complaint whatsoever with their tow service. It was great for me!

We got there 15 minutes after midnight and they charged us for yet another day. Then they wouldnt take my digital copy of my registration either. He wouldnt even let me email it to him to print it.

Blind troglodytes, they can’t see a yellow parking permit, so they’ll tow your legally parked car.

Seriously the best wrecker company out there! The driver got to my brother promptly, and helped him with his truck. We originally arranged for a tow to a dealer, but the driver used his knowledge to diagnose the problem. He got the truck started and followed us to autozone for a new battery. I will never use anyone else. Austin and Vincent seriously saved our night. Thank you so much Joe for having great people that work for you!

My husband broke down due to an axle breaking just 2 or 3 blocks from our home. They made it out quick to our end of town and Sonny was very nice and helpful. Thank you all for your help and promptness.

They picked me up within 15 minutes even though they quoted me a 45 minute pickup time. The employee who helped me was extremely efficient and careful when getting my car on top of his tow truck. He also inspected my car in an attempt to diagnose the issue that caused my car to die. Lastly he recommended a few repair shops that were known to have experience fixing the specific make and model of my car. He exceeded all my expectations and I couldnt have been more pleased with the service I received. Thank you Sutherland Avenue Wrecker Service for all your help!

I give them two stars because the times I have picked up my vehicle from them they have been professional and I have never noticed any damage, but they deserve zero stars because they target college students. Specifically their deals with surrounding apartment complexes from my experience. The times I have been towed have been out of my own complex for questionable reasons. The day before classes started I called in and the man on the phone happily exclaimed they were “so busy that day they had 5 phone lines running!” and I could tell that was likely not far from the truth due to the background noise. During the 4 minutes I was there I saw 4-5 cars with UT Knoxville commuter tags being retrieved by their owners. 👎🏼

They are always right on time and very accommodating

I was charged $75 for a drop fee. My car was never hooked up to a wrecker . The driver JP lied and I had no choice but pay. I guess lying for money is acceptable here. I say fraud. Just saying! I called and talked to a manager or owner only to be told I will call you back as I do not operate like this. He never called me back. I would never trust this place again ever. Lies after lies.

This is definitely a money laundering business. They only accept cash, yet have no ATM there. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They charged my brother over $200 just to pick up his car. What a scam. I cannot wait until they bust this place.

In general, people dont like tow companies and unless you need them you probably never will.Reasons people dont like them CAN include:1. Nightly patrols of a complex (including weekends) to tow unsuspecting guests at 10PM even though contracts stipulate patrol time is to occur at 11PM2. Illegal towing due not seeing the bright parking tag on the car windshield.3. After performing said illegal tow, face no repercussions as they can simply release said vehicle but not before bargaining you to pay for its release.Keep in mind these are just possibilities that someone could experience but every interaction is different at the discretion of controlling parties 😃

My friends apartment complex would have as many as a dozen cars parked in fire lanes overnight until Sutherland wrecker service was hired! Funny reading the negative reviews from people saying their car was illegally removed from their apartment complex. Wouldnt be surprised if they are the entitled people parking in fire lanes! Thankful for towing companies! Park legally like a responsible adult and your car will never get towed! Speaking from experience.

They have towed my car as well as my roommates’ cars from our own apartment’s parking lots however the one time I called to have a car towed from my assigned spot they didn’t come. I understand game day traffic is horrible but it doesn’t take 12 hours to drive 2 miles.

Very professional experienced tow truck driver I forgot his name it was something Jack. My axle broke 3 other companies denied me said they didnt have the right equipment well Jack pulled up within 20 mins after my call and took the situation over. He had my busted car on that flat bed in under 5 minutes without doing anymore damage to my vehicle with nothing but a chain. And the best part about it was the price less than half of the price of the other 3.

They pulled my car from my apartment complex, when I went to retrieve my car I asked to see it to see if any damages were done. When a friend and I walked inside the gate Yvonne proceeded to lock us in. Once I got outside the gate she told us we were trying to steal my car. We were being racially profiled because we were two black women. She had three men surround us while I was trying to pay for my car. I asked for her last name and the manager and she wouldn’t give us her last name; unfortunately for us she was also the manager. So I proceeded to ask for the owners information and she would not reveal it, this lead her to calling the police on us. She also wouldn’t give this information to the officer for unknown reasons. If anyone has this information could you please share it with me, thank you.

When they answered the phone they knew what was going on. Mr Petty drove the truck and was first class.

The driver was curtious,personal,and represented the company in a very professional manner. He was proficient in the assenting the problems that presented themselves and quickly resolving said problems.

Towed even when I had correct tags. They only accept cash. BE AWARE: you must have correct change or they will send you to a sketchy gas station for correct change. Took 30 minutes for them to let us out because they juggled phones because lack of staff.

This is one of the best towing companies in Knoxville. They treat your vehicle as they would their own. This is the only Towing company that will EVER touch my car.

I was in a wreck and they were quick to tow my car. They had it secure where no one could steal from it.

I was stopped at a red light, in the left lane, when one of their wrecker drivers gunned it and ran the red light. Cars that had the green light had already started moving. Drumming up business for themselves??

Whoever is on duty not nice at all with not good explanation. Fee is expensive compared to other companies.

I am reviewing as an employee. I understand that a lot of people that we meet are in stressful circumstances. But, we are just as stressed as you are about most situations. If you are parking somewhere that you are not sure it is okay to park at, I would say it isnt. If we are contracted to tow your vehicle from a said private property, it is not our fault you decided to do so. If you come into our office to get a Illegally Parked Vehicle, it will go by smoothly as long as you are respectful. Take responsibility for your actions and words. Show that you have self respect and give others respect as well. Be the bigger person and do not cuss when you call, we know how to hang up the phone. Then you will have to eat crow when you decide to call back, or arrive to retrieve your vehicle. There is a fee for IP tows. Yes, it is a cash process. No, we will not give discounts. No, we do not keep money available for change (for safety reasons). Should you find yourself in this situation and calling the offices, please listen closely to the instructions given to you by the person on the phone. It will make your unpleasant experience go by much faster. We have several repeat customers for our normal tow services. We take pride in our employees courteous and professional attitudes. This was the worst possible experience I’ve ever had. Having my vehicle towed from the property I live at and pay for parking and then having the rude woman in the office scream at me. DO NOT GO HERE. They are crooks just looking for money.

Gave a quote of $150 then called back and jacked it up to $255. I hate being lied to.

After making a u-turn on papermill at busy intersection driver flipped me off for honking. Drivers turn was illegal then he was just rude. This review is for my experience with driver. I have not used their service. Outcome maybe different.
