Super short time spent there (a few weeks) that being said the time I did spend was filled with incredibly great instruction and for my time on the mats, be it in competition or drilling I found myself learning more there than anywhere else. With some really really great people of all ranks, the higher belts did a great job of welcoming me as well as providing me with great lessons with a smile on there face even on some not so great days for them. Even taking my puppy for a walk so that I could go to class, great place.
My favorite GB location. Professor Josh is one of the best active no gi competitors in the state. Professor Benn teaches MMA/Kickboxing with many active student competitors. Now you know.
Great place to train, led by high level instructors/competitors.
Great gym, and the folks there are phenomenal! My son Has been going for over a year and adores it.
I cant recommend GB Kirkland enough. I was nervous at first, but both Josh and Solange were extremely patient and helpful during my first lesson. They really care about their students. Dont hesitate to come in! They will take care of you.
Cannot recommend GB Kirkland enough! Josh and Solange are super friendly and down to earth. Josh is an excellent teacher who treats his students with patience and respect. I also really appreciate the open and welcoming environment they have created, especially in what can be an intimidating and uncomfortable sport for first time practitioners. Pricing is fair and if you go more than once a week I think you definitely get your moneys worth.
This is a good place ran by good people. Definitely worth a visit to find out for yourself.
I love this place...My second home! Mestre Joshua is a world class back belt and a amazing human being.
Josh and Solange are great people and ever better fighters! If you come from a wrestling background I would suggest trying to train here, perfect place to begin to build a full game.
If you are in the area I highly suggest training here. Whether you are new or a long time practitioner, GB Kirkland can push you to new heights no matter what your goals may be. There is a strong sense of family here and I felt welcome from the start.
GB Kirkland is a great place to train. Great people and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend it!!!
Amazing atmosphere for all. Whether you compete or just want to learn BJJ... place is welcoming and has great coaches and instructors. Also has an amazing Kids program.
Awesome place to train! Professor Josh has a lot of experience competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling & he also has some Professional MMA fights under his belt. You can rest assure that you’re learning from somebody that knows his stuff. The vibe there is also really great and they support every single member there at their gym. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Kirkland to anybody.
Great studio, professors, and classes!
Gracie Barra Kirkland is a great place to train. Professor Cindy and Professor Dave have done a wonderful job of building a great team that supports and motivates you. Professor Cindy is a legend and it is an honor to train under her.
Professor Joshua is a world class black belt and a humble instructor. Best bjj gym in the area.
Ive been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2004, and have had the opportunity to train with some of the best in the world in multiple countries, and let me tell you that you will not find a better gym than this one.Cindy and Dave are world class coaches, and provide a fun and safe environment without compromising on the effectiveness of the art. Whether youre an athletic, driven competitor or an ordinary person just looking to get fit and learn some realistic self defense, you will find what you need here.
I went for about two months on an introductory rate special. The staff, teachers, students, everyone is so welcoming, friendly and professional. As a lady I was really nervous about grappling with new people and particularly guys and one of the ladies saw that and offered to sync up her class schedule with me for the first couple of classes to let me train with her until I was more comfortable. I finally did grapple with the guys (no choice - the classes are all grappling, gotta get in there!). It was awesome, no doubt. Very effective, applicable training. In the end I just could not get over my own aversion to touching strangers I dont know that closely (I know - Im going to be beat up), but for no fault of them, they where excellent.
Gracie Barra Kirkland is something special. Professor Cindy and Dave are remarkable teachers of the art. Their emphasis on safety and respect combined with a focus on effective, practical jiu-jitsu, and solid fundamentals has created an amazing school.Everyone who trains here is helpful and supportive and wants everyone to succeed. That culture has been cultivated and nurtured here, and the results are amazing. When I first started training, I could barely make it through the warm-ups, and I felt very self-conscious about it. However, the amount of support and help I received not only from Cindy and Dave, but from everyone at the school helped me and motivated me to continue training and reach my goals. As a testament to their focus on safety, Ive been training here for over 3 years several times per week and Ive not had a serious injury as a result of training the entire time.I would advise anyone interested in training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to try out Gracie Barra Kirkland. You will not regret it!
Lousy with small children. Zero paitence very dissapointing.
Josh is a cool dude.
Gracie Barra professors are really legit and knowledgeable.
