My kids like this place. I like the instructors. My kids have learned a lot of life skills over the last 3 years. However, they nickel and dime you to death with fees and ‘penalty’ fees. If you want to take the summer off, you pay $30 per kid. If you don’t attend a mandatory quarterly awards night, they will charge you per kid. They don’t have a heater and they don’t have air-conditioning. Be prepared to reach deep into your pockets, especially if you have more than one child in the program. My husband and I BOTH accidentally took advantage of a promotion to pay in advance and get a discount so now we’re paid up WAY into the future so we’re stuck. I recommend you don’t take advantage of ANY promotions and just pay as you go. This will make your experience better in my opinion.
I cant ever recommend this place and I only give a 1 star because thats the lowest I can give. Tae Kwon Do is a huge scam. Lots of belts and sub standard equipment to buy.
I can second what other people have said about deceptive practices and poor quality. The teen instructors, although sweet, dont do a lot in terms of teaching the fundamentals of martial arts. If you compare EMA to other options in the area, your choice should be pretty clear. If all you want is a place where your children can play for half an hour, there are better and cheaper options available. If you are serious about martial arts, definitely go somewhere else. One detail about the facilities: there is only a single one-person restroom! Thats it! Only one little space where all kids can, one at a time, get changed and use the toilet before and after classes.
Absolutely a waste of time and money my child attended here for over a year didnt have any skills.. The owner and instructors allow other kids in the class to teach the children which is not acceptable as they r students/kids although very sweet but not qualified to teach and instruct. Our Phone calls were never returned with any questions we had and we were treated in the most condescending manner when brought up hygiene and lack of follow through with regard to messages we were ignored and mobbed by the business owner and staff! We will not return and have removed our child since the contract has finished.
I enrolled my son more than two years ago. I think this is an awesome dojo.
For 3 years I was a devoted black belt canadite student who got sucked into an argument that I had no place in between my parent and The only instructor concerning my little siblings well being. Because the instructor couldnt respect no we dont want to talk about that from my parents as an awnser we were Unfortunately kicked out. Now if any of my family tries to enter the school they will call the cops on us. They are Teaching us to use martial arts for go and to always be a role model but even the instructors dont practice what they preach. I would not waste your time and money here there are other schools that are not a much as an money pit as elite martial arts of Kirkland.
This is the worst place I have encountered. Deceptive practices, breached contract, and no staff other than texts from a cell phone. Take your kids somewhere that appreciates them, not your wallet.
My son and I have been taking classes here for four years now. The instructors are great. The mixture of various Martial Arts techniques is our favorite aspect of EMA. We learn Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, a little Krav Maga, and many others.
This place is not worth your time and money. $199 for starting comes with a unform which youll trash by next year and a month to train???
Poor facility with unqualified instructors.
Hi, testing here for black belt!
