My sole interaction with this place was returning a rented Penske truck, using a drop box since they were closed - with clear instructions about the process.Later that night I left them a voicemail noting that I believed Id left something in the truck, and would they please call me if they found it. (I hadnt; later found elsewhere.)The next business day morning I got a call from a very pleasant person who told me they hadnt found anything. From the information she offered it was clear that they had searched the truck - cab and cargo area.If the rest of their services are as conscientiously carried out that would certainly be a plus.

I brought my VW in with a suspension issue. The vehicle was test driven/diagnosed and repaired with very little fuss. The issue was repaired and the car returned to me. It drives 100% better and Buttera has returned a fun car to drive.

When my regular mechanic vanished into thin air, I was left with finding another service provider. I prefer local mechanics if for no other reason then the personal approach, familiarity with MY car, and cost. The reason for the 4/5 stars was the additional cost over what I was quoted for an oil change. My car has 108,000 miles. I get my oil changed every 7-8,000 miles. My normal cost is about $90.00. This one cost me $112. I have never had to replace the drain plug, and if it was replaced, it was included in the $90.00. The search continues.

I love Buttera Motors. Josh is the best!!! Always very responsive and helpful. After several car places messed up my electronics, Buttera Motors were able to quickly figure out the issue and fix it. I don’t trust anyone else with my car. I highly recommend Buttera Motors 100%.

Best place to take your VW!

Ive been taking my VWs to Buttera Motors for 12+ years. Josh is always pleasant and easy to work with. In 12 years and with multiple VWs, Ive probably had everything fixed at least once. They do good work.

They are always friendly. Professional and do a great job and get it fixed. They noticed my wipers were in poor condition and changed them. They always vacuum the cat. Which in winter is really nice. Always pretty rigjt on when they give a timberline.

I have been a customer of Buttera for years and have brought all my VW bugs to them. They are incredible mechanics and Josh is the best at explaining in layman terms any work that needs to be done. If I ever buy another car, as they discontinued the VW Bug, I will buy a VW as I know they will help me keep it running in tip top shape. Wouldnt take a VW anywhere else for service !!!!

For the older European vehicles Buttera Motors is the place to take them! I had them fix a transmission and axle issue on a ‘78 Rabbit. And it turned out amazing!

Had a CV axle replaced on my ‘13 TDI wagon after looking around online for a reputable VW shop. Josh helped me and was able to have it done in a timely matter. When I went to pick it up, I asked if it would be okay to leave the car there for a couple hours after close as I had plans that made it so I couldn’t pick it up before hand and he made it work for me. Friendly and helpful. Will definitely be bringing my car back if I need to!

We brought our Euro van to butera for a pre-purchase inspection. They called us after they started working on the van and told us that we should probably do an engine diagnostic and they said it would be $178. They did not tell us it would be an additional $178 over what we already were spending on the diagnostic. They were very unclear about it. As it turns out they missed a couple of fairly expensive repairs that were in need on the vehicle. When we returned to Spokane we took it to another shop to have some of the work done that they recommended and at that time it was discovered that the tie rods were bad and that it would be anywhere from $425 to $525 to repair. We also learned that the power steering unit was leaking. Neither of those items were caught. If we have to replace the power steering pump that would be approximately 4 to $500. We spent close to $400 on a diagnostic that was virtually worthless. When I call them to discuss this they had no idea how their these items could have been missed and questioned me on how the two different mechanics that I brought the vehicle to determine that the tie rods were bad. I explained to them that I am not familiar with their diagnostic process but because two different mechanics had determined that the same problem existed I had to assume that they were correct. All he did was stammer and say I dont know what to tell you but Im sorry never offered to refund any of our money or even find any other solution. I would not recommend this shop for pre purchase-inspection services.

I’ve taken my 65 bus to Buttera since 1989. They know Volkswagens.

These guys are the best. They will fix your car and wont rip you off. My daughters car almost caught on fire on I405 and we had the Golf towed here. They fixed it and got her back on the road again without gouging her. If I buy another VW these guys will get my business for sure.

WARNING: Make sure you take pictures/video of your car before service. Also check car before driving away; they had the car ready to go and I did not check it. Unfortunately my mirror was magically knocked in and my car had what appeared to be new scratches. Although I didn’t notice until I got home and was trying to reverse in driveway. Thankfully they asked the person who drove my car and he said he didn’t hit anything.

Went to Buttera for about two years. They seem to do a great job at fixing the problem in my car for roughly three months, then of course, at about that three month marker, the exact same thing would go wrong. They admitted to doing cheap repairs on it and every time would charge just a couple extra dollars for the part since it was their fault, and I would have to pay the absurd tow bill.I quit going there when they sold me an alternator that I put in my car and it didnt even work. I took it into them to ask if they would install it and they did then appologized for selling me a faulty alternator. They then put two more alternators that they purchased into my car and neither of those worked (they need a new supplier). The fourth alternator they put in worked and by the time that was over, I saw that they had billed me for all of the labor they put in for the prior three alternators. A $1,283.00 bill for replacing an alternator on a car that was valued at about $1550.00.I had asked them to inform me if the price was going to exceed $100.00 and was not told until I went to pick it up. I asked why in the heck the bill was so high and they explained they put four alternators in and the warehouse they bought them from wasnt going to reimburse them for their labor so that is where I was supposed to come in. I asked what would happen if I were to refuse to pay the bill and they simply said they would get the money from me one way or another.I quit using Buttera from then on and now go to this wonderful place, Bothell Collision. They charge me far less than Buttera ever had.

Im glad we found Buttera Motors we are highly satisfied with their honesty and advice over the past 10 years. Because of their craftsmanship, work ethic and proximity we will be purchasing another VW within the next year.Its hard to find a group of mechanics that know a product line so well. Even at the name brand dealers you find yourself talking to techs and service writers with little experience. Troubleshooting multiple systems that seem to rely on each other ever increasingly is something that happens to cars beyond the 5-6 year mark. Having someone who understands these systems and how they work together has a direct reflection in the work they produce and helping us keep our car as long as we have.If you want to extend the life of your VW/Audi product, trust their experience. I have and will recommend them to anyone.

Brought in an older 3.2L TT Roadster in that I bought recently, I was expecting to be paying a hefty price for the new owners check, an oil change a new battery. It wasnt cheap, but it was about $150 less than I was figuring. These guys are car lovers and it shows. If youre passionate about keeping your Audi or VW in good condition this is the shop for you.

I paid my way through a computer science degree working as an ASE master-tech, so I know cars. I own a rare 2007 V10 Audi S6 with RS trim package...Buttera is the only shop I even allow to look at my car, I intentionally brought them a problem that I created (abs sensor malfunction), by intentionally faulting the GPIO output on the ABS relays in the cars firmware. They didnt try to rip me off, they didnt try to blow smoke, or shot gun various parts... They treated me properly, even though they had know idea who I was or that I was one of the people who programmed the very system they were diagnosing.Props to buttera, I will likely bring my rare Audi in for service when the next expensive engine component malfunctions.
