OUTSTANDING !!!! I LOVE Bavarian Specialties for my BMW!I thought I was great at MY job, and then I met Sarah! Shes INCREDIBLE!! Her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm is evident in ALL she does!Throughout every encounter, it appears Bavarian Specialties truly cares about the long term customer relationship. Unlike some mechanics, they did not attempt to sell me unnecessary work. She did come up with a suggestion list of what I should tackle in time, which inspires confidence as my car ages.Maintaining a BMW is a pricey commitment, and having Bavarian Specialties along for the ride, makes this part so refreshing! I cherish this relationship, and happy to have found them!Thank you Sarah!!

My BMW 5 series was recently off of factory warranty and I took it to BMW of the Main Line where I purchased the car for an inspection. They told me I needed two repairs for a total of $1800. Neither of the repairs were necessary to pass the inspection. I told the advisor I would think about it and then I was on the receiving end of intense pressure to get the repairs down. He suggested that maybe I couldnt afford to own a BMW if I didnt want to have $1800 in repairs after 5 years. I looked online for an alternative and found Bavarian Specialties. I called and spoke with Sarah. She was knowledgeable about the year of my car and the issue I presented. I felt very good about the conversation and made an appointment to have it fixed. I was shocked when I picked up my car and was presented a bill of $1200. They use original BMW parts, and give you a loaner car if you need one. Sarah explains the issues of the car in a way I can understand and without my feeling I am being sold.I found a new home for my BMW and will never go back to the dealer!

Probably the best auto shop I have ever patronized. I’m actually excited to visit them because the staff are super friendly and respectful, the work is high quality and the price is fair. Everyone there is incredibly knowledgeable and like to chat, if they aren’t swamped.I brought my car in for a chronically bad alignment (from Ottos BMW) and for a sway bar knock that Ottos said required a new sway bar. My car has not driven this well since I bought it and the knock was fixed by just switching the sway bar bushings. They even made a note on my work order for what bushings to buy when the knock returns due to wear. They provided me a loaner car at no cost and resolved everything within one day as they promised. It’s very clear that Bavarian Specialties has good business ethic. They care about you, your car, and your wallet. I would trade current gen loaners and fancy waiting rooms for a quality set of people who produce quality work, any day.Thank you, Sarah, John and Mike!

Took the time to go over repairs in detail with options. Uncovered issues with resolution withing 24 hrs for 2009 BMW & 2011 BMW 3 Series. I have owned MB & BMW Autos for over 20 years, these guys are the real deal.

Great service from a recommended shop. I had Bavarian Specialties do a bunch of work I had been putting off on my 75 1502. Mike took some time to learn about my car before he accepted the work, and was a great communicator throughout. We added things, changed things, and worked around bad weather. Mike or Sarah updated me every time there was something to report. Fantastic service and my car runs great!

Where else would you go to get your BMW serviced? Bavarian Specialties has been doing this since the first 3 Series rolled on/off the Ark! They know their stuff. High quality work. Promptly completed as promised. Fair pricing. They recently helped us rehab a 2000 E39 and a 2007 E90. We have confidence in Michael, Sarah and the whole team at Bavarian. You will too.

Best in the business, the owner Mike is always willing to help our body shop down the road if we have any technical questions about anything BMW. We have been referring mechanical jobs there for years and he even services our personal cars. You cannot match their knowledge and expertise along with their fair pricing. Highly recommend for anyone who has a BMW or Mini.

I purchased a 2007 Mercedes and shortly after purchase, the engine started to shut off while driving. I took it here because of convenience and the fact that they specialize in BMWs, (both German cars). Although the problem could not be solved by them due to no code errors, I have had other work done and they are excellent. Mike kept the car for a weekend and drove it to see if the issue occurred. He did not charge me for the time spent trying to solve the issue. I highly recommend this shop for service. Sarah and Mike are both great to deal with.

The arrogance and overall abysmally poor (new) customer relations here are, in a word, unbelievable. Stopped in to see about having some minor work done to my BMW. Yes, I had my own (brand new, BMW factory) part with me. Well, that was apparently the trigger for (what I assume was the owner) beginning a new customer relationship with statements like Do you bring your own steak to Mortons? and We charge more because you brought your own part, and No way today!. Frankly, I was hoping they could do the work today, but was not demanding, insistent, or discourteous in the least---I would have been happy to make an appointment for later.OK, I get it-shops dont love installing customer-bought parts, and they definitely want to capture the markup on the part itself. I understand that, and even get charging more for the work. It was the attitude, arrogance and utterly dismissive tone in treatment that had me walk out. Its too bad too--I was looking for a good, local, independent BMW shop to start a long-term service relationship. I may not always look it, but I AM the demographic you want--mid-40s, multiple BMW (and Porsche) vehicles, and money to spend. I had high hopes, but damn, talk about putting a bad taste in a customers mouth within 3 minutes of him showing up. Today was a test to see if I would be dropping hundreds--if not thousands--of service dollars here. Fail.I hope saving yourself from losing a 10-50% markup on a single part was worth losing a customer forever---and one who wont be shy about spreading the word about his experience.

Brought my 2012 328 in to check a rattling noise coming from the engine bay after I purchased it from a local dealer. Car was under warranty but wanted someone else to check it out because it passed the dealer inspection but it didn’t sound right. Knowing they would not be getting the repair business for this particular job - this shop still identified the problem within 10 minutes for a very fair diagnostic fee. Took it back to the dealer with the paperwork and the turbo was replaced before my 3 month warranty was up saving me about $2,000-$3,000. Will definitely be going back.

Brought my (new to me) 2012 E92 M3 to Bavarian Specialities for rod bearing replacement, new engine mounts and some other 60K maintenance items and couldnt be more pleased. I had known about the shop for years in anticipation of buying my first BMW, and am so glad I brought my baby to them. Mike, Peter and Sarah are super knowledgeable, know these cars well, and spent time with me on the phone and in the shop talking through the work as well as maintenance items that needed attention and those that could wait in order to save $. They also photographed and emailed the rod bearing progress for me so I could document it. The work was completed with care at reasonable cost, they gave me a loaner during the work, and my car is running like a champ and feels like new. Ill definitely be bringing my M3 there from now on!

I had a ELV Counter issue with my E90 like many others, and after ignoring it for couple months unfortunately the cars steering lock kicked in and it was locked up, ignition wouldnt start. Sometimes removing the battery and plugging it back in would do the trick but this time I guess the counter reached its max count. Eventually I had to get the car towed to the Bavarian Specialties before doing so I have called them a head in order to clarify if it can be a quick software fix or not and Sarah was quite helpful in that matter. As soon as I got there they were ready to check it out and we ended up getting the car started. I would highly recommend them for anyone who is having similar or same issues with their BMW or Mini.

Excellent Service! I called them about my 1997 BMW Z3 Roadser that needed a repair. They gave me a price up front on the phone for parts and labor. Sarah was a pleasure to work with. She sent me the estimate via email and then I called to confirm. The part was ordered in advance and was waiting for me when I took it in for service. The repair took less time than original quote, so my total was less than than the estimate.I highly recommend!!

Stay away from this place... it is even worth to pay a tiny bit extra (yes, just a little bit extra based on their prices) to get the work done at the dealer.Took my M3 in for a diagnostic, which should have taken 10 minutes at most to do, the car sat there unattended for 20 minutes out of the 30 that it was there, and I was charged $75 for that. I even told them what the problem was. Thanks for confirming and charging me for it. This however is not what I am truly upset about....I asked 3 times for my tire pressure to be set to factory specs, which is 33psi on front and 35psi on rear tires. They forgot (that is why I asked 3 times), and then a tech went outside to fiddle with the tire pressure by simply deflating my tires...The car drove like crap...so I got home... let the car cool for about an hour and checked the tire pressure for myself. This is what I found: 23psi on the front two... 45psi on one rear, and 30psi on the other rear. Keep in mind that I am using very expensive BBS racing wheels with summer performance tires.Next day I called up and spoke to Mike and told him...hey guys... you messed up yesterday...just thought you should know since I did ask you three times to double check on the tire pressure....He went straight into his yelling mode and started telling me that this was a complimentary tire pressure check... that this is no big deal and you could drive that way... and it was complimentary (for the second time) and that I did not pay for this exactly to be done...Since when is it too much to ask that your tires are set to factory specs? If they cant handle tire pressure, or at least admit to it... I wouldnt trust them with anything related to my car...or any car for that matter.

Had my car towed here and I was unable to come in to tell them what happened. After a simple phone call they diagnosed and fixed the issue. Also made a couple recommendations for what needed attention in the future. Highly Recommend! Following a recommendation from a friend who had a very good experience with Bavarian Specialties, I decided to have them service my E46 M3. I was so impressed by the level of service I received that I decided to bring the car back a few months later to do some upgrades. Once again Bavarian Specialties came through in every way and did a fantastic job.I also like that they always make it easy and convenient for me to schedule service appointments and offer loaner vehicles. When the time came to do a major subframe reinforcement service, I did not consider taking my car anywhere else. The subframe repair went flawlessly and as always the quality of their work was impeccable.Bavarian Specialties is now helping me to transition my car from a street to track car. The owner Mike has extensive racing experience and has been instrumental in helping me to work within my budget to get the most out of each upgrade. Their pricing is very reasonable for any reputable shop and is especially impressive considering their advanced equipment and tremendous expertise.Mike and the Service Manager Tom are incredibly knowledgeable and have been a pleasure to work with. The rest of the staff are extremely talented, friendly, and are the only people I trust to keep my car safe on the street and the track. If you are looking for an honest and experienced shop to service your street or race car, don’t waste your time looking anywhere else.If you own a BMW take it to Bavarian Specialties. WAY overpriced. Brought my BMW in for a routine easy change of front struts/shocks as well as an emissions leak detection pump change (already knew what the exact problem was). They quoted $807 for parts and $450 for labor. I knew it was way overpriced when I googled the parts and found OEM parts for 1/2 of the price.I took my car elsewhere and had the work done for $400 labor and $337 parts. Thats right I saved $470 in their parts markup alone. On top of all that they were arrogant about everything. Cant recommend.

STAY AWAY from this auto business Bavarian Specialties. It is a scam and ironically it is very fitting that it sits on the corner with Crooked Lane as the cross street. Be prepared for highly unethical treatment if your car is not relatively new (possibly even if new, I cannot comment on that). I left my Mercedes with these people for some work to be done. A man in a directive and intimidating tone calls me and claims the car is rusted through to the core and is not safe to drive. He says that I should surrender the car for safety reasons and that as soon as I hit the next bump I would lose control of the car. The mechanical reasons given did not make sense to me and the car has always driven fine. So I had two highly experienced mechanics independently inspect the vehicle and both have deemed it safe to drive. Take this information as you wish, but I would never take a car there again, new or old.
