Understaffed. Rude staff. I was about get in a car in the chose your own car lot. Some other guy walked up and claimed he reserved it. I asked the staff.. no feedback. How does one reserve a car in the choose your own car lot?? And why is the staff mute?

The customer service at this location was the best I’ve ever received. I got there right at opening in a pickle due to a cancelled flight and the gentleman working behind the counter—Alonso I believe—went above and beyond to get me on the road in a timely fashion. Thank you!

I had 48 hours in the keys. We reserved a car like we do everywhere else in the country. There was a huge line and then we had to wait for someone else to turn in a car. 2 hours of my 48 hour vacation is time I cant get back. And time is worth more than money. Obviously unorganized with not enough employees. They should not confirm a car available if none was. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! Please note Enterprise and Alamo are all run together here.

Horrible Every time I click the website I can’t even let me select the date. After trying 20 times I’m absolutely done you lost my business.

We had reserved a 15 person passenger van and received a phone call the night before saying that the vehicle would not be available when we got to the counter the person in front of us was also trying to rent a 15 person passenger van and was given the same story if you do not have the cars do not promise. We were in a huge bind since we only had one driver who is available to drive from Key West to Fort Lauderdale in order to catch our plane. The one bright light in that office by Stephanie the agent who was so sweet and nice and try to do everything but she is just one person. She could only do so much.

Absolutely awful customer service. We had a contract for $259.58, and they tried to charge us $300 more for insurance that we NEVER agreed to. Manager wouldnt budge. She also refused to view our contract! I truly believe it must be a shady operation. We rent cars all the time, but NEVER AGAIN from National unless we get a full refund for this insurance that we never wanted.

Perfect, knowledgeable, friendly, and quick!!!! Luis is the BEST!!!! I pick National 9 out of 10 times for my rentals. They have never disappointed me and their rates are always the best. I receive all my receipts via email after returning. This location was a pleasure!!

Although the rental pickup location in Key West is off-site from the airport, the pickup service was prompt, professional and courteous. The wait at the counter was minimal and the staff were very friendly and professional. We dropped off at Fort Meyers airport and, as usual, the National staff were the outstanding professionals that we have come to know and love. Well done!

This car rental is NOT at the airport! So when we went to return our vehicle we found there was no national counter and had to rush to the real location which is across the island. However, the people at this location are wonderful and very accommodating.

The location is not on airport grounds so you have to take a shuttle. Be sure to have their number handy when you land. The friendly and helpful staff well make up for the inconvenience. I have rented several vehicles from them over they years and I will always rent my vehicles from this location when vacationing in the Keys.

Used this location for a day rental the last day of our trip. Great customer service and very accommodating, I noticed the mixed reviews before renting but felt very confident before and after returning once meeting the gentlemen at the counter. There is a shuttle service that runs to the airport that we used and they do have a emerald aisle.

Excellent! Renaud and the other staff have always been friendly, prompt, and as a regular customer they go out if their way for us. Cant ask for better, and free shuttle to airport. Its only a tiny island so off site not a problem.

Rented at Key West. Although they said they are at the airport they are WAY off site. Also the most unorganized National lot anywhere I have been. Recommend you stay with a rental agency at the airport

Friendly and customer-centric! The kid that works here (Luis?) is a gem. Its great when a mini-vacation starts and ends with a smile.

I usually have a great experience with National but this has by far been the worst! There were no vehicles to choose from. A convertible mustang was cute to have the first day or two in Key West, but since I was there for work for 2 weeks, something more comfortable and better able to carry my two large suitcases would have been more sufficient. The car was absolutely filthy and had about 15 miles left of gas. I had to fill up immediately leaving the lot. The struggle in getting my luggage in and out of the vehicle was beyond unacceptable. If youre in Key West, youre better off renting a bike or scooter for transportation!

A really bad experience. We had a reservation and got an email stating that our car was waiting for us. However, when we got to the office to get our car, there were no cars available and they made us wait for like an hour. If this had been communicated to us before, then we wouldn’t have come in on time.

Excellent experience for an off-airport car rental. The agent was smart, pleasant, and ethical. The vehicle was great. Overall, it was a great experience.

Do not recommend. They didn’t have cars available for 8 people with reservations. Staff didn’t help rebook. Will not be renting with them again. Save yourself the trouble.

They are as terrible as can be expected. I rent a car for one day every friday. Went in there on thursday. What do you know its different ppl at the desk, and now i need to be qualified. They need a copy of bank statements, employer, 3 verifiable references, as well as a slew of other documents, all because I dont have airline tickets. I LIVE HERE. why do i need proof of flying in and out? This place is a joke.

The service team at the National Rental Car office in Key West were efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend National in general and this office as well.

Showed up to drop vehicle off... closed with no noticed. Came back later in the week to pick up a reservation... closed again because the reservation was allowed to be made after hours... make sure to call before showing up...

Friendliest staff ive ever meet at a car rental place! Highly recommended to grab a car for the day and drive the keys!

Staff was pleasant and efficient. Was in and on my way in about ten minutes. Car was clean.

They need to do a better job at cleaning the interior of vehicles. Finding food and other debris in vehicles is bad for business and unsanitary.

The manager, Hugo, is a absolute jerk, and fails to provide the services promised. Long lines, and they will leave you waiting in line when youve requested and been promised transportation.Hugo, is condescending, intimidating and threatening. Ive filed a complaint with their headquarters and intend on following up. This guy should be fired.
