My family called Capt. Chan to request a rate for taking my sisters ashes out to the reef for a little ceremony after her passing and he said come on down anytime after six PM and I will take you out - so all 15 of us showed up that Friday evening. I cant tell you how professional and compassionate he and his partner were with our group, the ceremony we had was spectacular, the weather was perfect and Capt. Chan kept the boat positioned the whole time so we never were uncomfortable while dispensing her ashes - a true pro. We paid him for the trip and I won;t disclose how much but I will say he did not make a lot from us and did this out of the kindness of his heart, not for money. I would recommend Capt. Chan for fishing, evening cruises or anything else - go see him and enjoy his company, the fish may or may not bite but you will enjoy your time on the water for sure. Thank you Captain, we all appreciate what you did and will forever remember your compassion at a time when we all needed it.
The whole trip was a good experience! The mates made it a party 🥳 . Big snappers and yellow tail trip . A good thing is they have a rotation in the back so everyone gets to try out the back of the boat . Dont miss out on an adventure!
Successful days fishing. Snapper mutton and cobia. But They don’t sell food or drinks. So bring your own snacks. Water is free in a communal cooler. But you have to ask. They’ll clean your fish for a small fee. Bring a bag to put them into. Th it s Boat has many regular people and only a few tourists. Ask questions and you’ll get answers. Fishermen weren’t friendly. But very knowledgeable. They crew Fluff is great. The other mate naps and fishes for giving aways at the end of the day. Ask mate if you can have a few at the end.
We called a day in advance to see if the boat was going out fishing. Captain said bring 80 bucks and food and drink. There was no talk about business being slow and that he may not get enough customers on board to go out and make his money. We walked 4 miles from our place to get there a half hour early we were so excited. We get there and nobody is around, the captain shows up at 830 and says lets wait around 10-15 minutes and see if others show up. Right then it sounded fishy, we waited and never saw the captain again. His guys said oh come back tomorrow we go out tomorrow. He said go to the holiday inn. Long story short I would not have been upset if captain said we might not go out. We now walk almost ten miles for nothing. Dont go out with these lazy guys. I would have given them zero stars if that was an option.
Disclaimer: I caught fish on this charter so I’m not leaving this review because I’m salty about not catching. This is a pretty poor operation. The boat was in bad shape and had no rod holders. The crew did next to nothing as far as customer service. People that aren’t familiar with this type of fishing likely won’t catch anything as the crew provided zero guidance or tips. They were too busy talking with their buddies or fishing themselves. We left the docks about 45 minutes late and captain gave no information about what to expect for the trip to anyone.*THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FISHING BOAT*
Captain Chan was excellent. We took out about 15+ people and everything went great. Highly recommend him, cant say enough how impressed we were.
I have fished several fishing charters in the US and overseas for several years. I honestly feel this experience qualifies me to write my review. I will give credit to the captain for being responsive to phone calls and scheduling. He was very responsive to returning calls and somewhat prompt on our departure time. Overall, this was a fair trip. The boat is designed to fish for a few specific fish, and unless you are trained in the fish catching techniques for these fish you will be at a disadvantage. The crew pretty much didnt help us and they spent all of their time getting the boat out to sea, fishing for themselves, and getting the boat back in the dock. It was not very professional in this respect. One crew member who was responsible for getting passengers on the ship and collecting money was more helpful than others but overall there is a lot to be desired with the overall experience on this boat. Read reviews before taking this charter.
Another great couple of days fishing with Captain Chan on the Gulfstream. Dozens of snapper and a huge cobia. The teens had a fantastic trip because of you and your crew. Thanks again!!!
I was on this party boat and everything was great. I felt like like VIP. Let me tell you, those two mates can work miracles. Fluff went out his way to assist me and he was very respectful. He said, Sir at the beginning of every sentence and I felt I was on military ship. They cleaned all of my fish, and they even packed them with ice for me to take it back home. I would recommend this boat next time you go fishing!
Great day Fishing day with my son, the crew was great and very helpful. Will definitely go fishing again.
Great head boat for avid fisherman. There are regular clients that come on a weekly basis and the mates are experienced and helpful (Lamont and Fluff). If you are new to fishing I would recommend this boat if you are a fast learner.Captain Chan does a great job of putting us on the fish and goes above and beyond what other captains do. We normally fish between 80-140 ft of water and have great success. If you are new to fishing then this boat may not be for you but if youre an experienced angler I highly recommend it.
I went on the party fishing charter while on vacation in the Keys. I wasnt sure what to expect and just wanted to enjoy the day on the water and catch a few fish. It was a beautiful day. And I really enjoyed my experience. The regulars do banter with each other a bit but the mates Fluff and Richie were very attentive to getting me fishing. When it came time to try my hand at sand balling to catch yellow tail, Captain Chan stood right beside me and gave me excellent instructions so that I had a very successful day. We caught enough fish for an excellent dinner for 5 people and left overs for the next day.I look forward to hopping on Capt Chans boat the next time I am in Key Largo
We had a great time! Captain and mates were great.
I have gone fishing with this crew twice so far and not once did I catch a fish. It could be me or the equipment that I am using that they provided me. Some people caught fish but they brought their own poles so I will give them another chance bringing my own rods. Being out on tge water was awesome but catching a fish would have added to the awesome day. The captain only hit three locations and if we caught fish great and if not we didnt move until it was time.
Thank you guys we had a Blast. I recommend this trip. The crew is Excellent and we caught so much fish. We did take our 1 year old and 2 1/2 year old. I would recommend it if the tied is calm. If the tied is moderate of high you may have some sea sick babies. Unfortunately my babies got sick but, I was warned about the tied before going out by the captain. Please hear their advice. Besides this it is worth every cent. The rest of the family had a great time!
I was part of a fishing trip with 4 family members and about 20 others. There were 2 mates on the boat named Fluff and Richie. They were fantastic. Taught us everything we needed to know to catch a lot of fish and we really had a ball. Captain Chan is an amazing character and told us some wonderful stories about his adventures on and under the water. It was the favorite experience of our kids and they cannot wait to go back. They have been talking about it for weeks!!! ( One passenger did suffer from some sea sickness and the crew did all they could to help her feel more comfortable.) They also did a great job of cleaning all our fish! We did not experience the loudmouth mate mentioned in other reviews so I guess he is no longer employed on this boat.
Went there years back and headed there again in 2 weeks. Im I a wheelchair and the were there to help at any time. Fluff 1st mate was a big help kind and on top of his game . the captain puts you on fish. Not there to just take your money like so many other charters will do. Cant wait to get fishing
Shame shame shame, worse charter boat Id ever been on. The boat is old and in poor condition. The bathroom is so stink and its doesnt work, it has a nasty fealty smell come out from it, it will make you sick from it. The captain past out in his cabin. And dont do the cash pool for biggest fish either. They cheated. There were 2 mates that were supposed to help out but only one were helpful and the other one were fishing. The one mate that were helpful his name is Fluff.
Best fishing boat catch really big groupers and snappers especially yellow tails
Had a great time. Fluff and Lamont were great. You have to ask if you dont know what to do. But a stupid question is the one you dont ask. Capt chan was great. Will definitely be back. Thank you again for a great time! Its a group charter boat. There will be crowds. You yuppys come expecting a cruise ship. Its not! Buy your own boat! You will have crowds on days, but thats a group charter boat! Your there to catch fish! And you will catch fish! Lived in Fl all my life! Best charter ever! Thank you Fluff! Lamont. And Captain Chan!
No elbow room...tangled lines..no rotation for the back of the boat...no shrimp..squid..or silver sliders to fish with..no buckets were provided for bait and the captain did not follow traveling time ...and last but not least favoritism was shown between tourist and locals...NO FISH CAUGHT !!
This has been the worse charter boat I have ever been on! I paid $65 to catch 2 fish and a bad time! The boat was very dirty looking and no room at all to fish. The ship mate Ryan was very rude and disrespectful, and he didn’t do his job very well at all! They all show favoritism towards the local people they let fish on the boat. The crew doesn’t explain things very well at all and they don’t help you when you need it because they are all fishing themselves!
It was my first time fishing in the keys and I left very disappointed. The captain didn’t leave on time, we left almost an hour after what the original departure time was suppose to be. The captain spent the first 2+ hours trying to get bait for the locals and wouldn’t move even though there were no fish biting. The only type of fishing seem to be yellow tail snapper and u had to wait in line just to get a chance to sandball fish for them. The crew didn’t help you with your lines or or bait or anything. Left with two itty bitty fish and a big disappointment.
Had a good time . I fished with my sons and we went out three days, caught plenty of fish.
My experience was great. Fluf is an awesome helper. I had a great time.
The worst headboat. I have been on headboats from Delaware to Islamorada and this was the crappiest and most disheveled boat. You have to do some sort of conga line to be where the fish are. Tangled lines and no elbow room. They mates were pretty cool but if you dont want to feel like you are in line at the DMV, do not go.
Let me start by saying it was hot, very little air moving and not much fish caught. Remove one of these 3 things and my rating might have made it to 3 star.We started off by leaving the dock after 9 even though its advertised as 8:30. We did come back in 1/2 hour late so we got our time in but being late caused me to be be late for another function. Im told this is the norm.We traveled out for about 40 minutes and anchored. Even though we were not catching many fish we stayed there for about 4/5 of the day. The boat had some electrical problems that the captain worked on most of the day so I suspect he didnt move us so he could keep working on the boat. After the electrical issue was either fixed or he gave up he lost his cell phone on the boat and spent another 30 minutes looking for it instead of moving us to better grounds. even the regulars on the boat couldnt believe we didnt move earlier.Speaking of regulars, I was the only on on the boat that had not been on the boat before. Most of the customers fished on the boat at least once a week and several 2-4 times a week. they all knew everyone (except me) and didnt accept new guys very well. At one point I wasnt doing something to the liking of my neighbor and he started cursing me and stormed off. I have no clue what I did wrong but he made sure he told everyone I had messed up.the mate on the boat, Fluff, was much more interested in fishing and cutting up with the regulars than he was in helping me. Because everyone but me was a regular they did everything for them self and I guess Fluff expected me to do the same. At one point he scolded me pretty bad for getting hung up on the bottom for the 2nd time in about an hour. The only other party boat I had been on was the Miss Virginia out of Port Richie, FL so thats what I will compare the boat to. The Miss VA has nice seating with tables and sells drinks and snacks and has acceptable restroom facilitates. Not this boat. Very little sitting room, no tables and nothing to eat or drink unless you bring it. That would not have been a problem had I known that in advance. the Miss VA also has a nice ice chest type box where they put your fish on a numbered stringer for you, this boat you have to somehow mark your fish so you remember its yours at the end of the trip. For a small fee (about .25 each) the Miss VA crew will clean your fish for you and place it in a plastic bag, not these guys.In conclusion, this trip wasnt horrible but they could sure step up their game.
The worst boat i fished on! Bad crew. The crew advantaged a few regulars . They did not help the fishermans . And more, the crew have a nice nap whole trip. Verry bad bussines . Bad bad bad. I do not recomend what so ever to fish on this boat.
Great Group Very Professional Always Catch
You have to have gone to prison to fish on this boat..The boats mate carter has worst vocabulary ever.. everything is profanity..If you do not understand terminology of prison life this boat is not for you..The captain obviously found this guy when he was a cab driver in Haiti.. does not know anything about how to be a mate..
Mates dont have any respect for customers toxic environment.
Dont waste your time or your money Should I listen To the reviews
Hi the day before I when fishing i sow the reviews and i didnt like. But I when . I get there and the person talk me NO FISHING TODAY. We have a medical emergency. The have so bad costumer service . The didnt call me to let me know that the fishing trip was cancelled i drove from miami to K L . please dont go fishing with them NO NO NO dont fishing with them.
The biggest loud mouth mate I have ever seen on a boat.. Nick name he goes by is Charter..super super unprofessional swears out loud makes everyone uncomfortable.A mates job is to help people .. YOU WILL GET NO HELP ON THIS BOAT AT ALL!!!All you will get is a mate that swears like a convict when he has to help you..This is not where you want to go fishing unless you speak street slang..
Great experience
Not bad
Best party boat
