This 3 Sisters trip was in the making for months. A sister and her husband decided to sell their home in Miami this year so, it was clear if we wanted to enjoy a last hurrah, we had to act fast. A beautiful home with a resort-like feel, we’d held many special occasions there over the past 25+ years.Deb found first of two water outings in the Keys which were usually part of a vacation here and her suggestions were spectacular!Morning Star Charters, Pirate’s Choice Reef Sail & Snorkel did not disappoint!Captain Dave relieved Captain Sara(h) on this trip and was joined by Joe, a hard-working First Mate. Laid back yet attentive, Captain Dave and First Mate Joe helped educate and entertain with a few stories of the sea and their experiences. The vessel was sea-worthy, and we had Captain Dave’s experience at the helm. We sisters were happy to have it to ourselves.Deb proactively bought new snorkeling gear for all of us - two of us with limited snorkeling experience from years before. We “practiced” snorkeling in Deb & her husband Jim’s pool the day before our Morning Star Charter so, we weren’t quite as “green” as we would have been as we set sail that beautiful September morning.Fantastic weather was on our side as a sunny day unfolded with warm breezes. First Mate Joe was helpful during fin-fitting and safely assisted us on and off the ship. “Hold onto your masks & jump when ready” and like that we discovered the ocean delightfully refreshing! Pretty and unusual coral reefs of varying sizes and a kaleidoscope of colorful fish were visible through our snorkeling masks. The sport takes some work if you aren’t used to it, but I understand the appeal. We brought drinks and snacks along so, after snorkeling as long as desired, we climbed the ladder and First Mate Joe helped us board the ship. We enjoyed our refreshments and leisurely sailed back to port. We had a terrific time, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We highly recommend Pirate’s Choice Reef & Sail with a special thanks to Captain Dave & First Mate Joe for a fun experience!
This was definitely a highlight of our week long trip in the keys. We had a half day sailing on gorgeous waters and plenty of time for snorkeling. There was plenty to see and great time to chill. Theres a six person limit on a 40foot boat so it was so great not to feel packed with tons of people. Added bean bags chairs for lounging and comfort. Mate Chris was like spider man just hustling around and making sure he was doing all the things whole keeping everyone safe and comfortable. Captain Sarah was amazing. She navigated some pretty tight areas and parallel parked that boat like a freaking champ.. Not one bump and it was a tight squeeze. Also a nice touch was to be able to bring drinks and snacks on the boat. I highly recommend doing this charter. Well worth the money.
This was easily the highlight of our trip to the Keys. Our captain Sarah was amazing and we would highly recommend sailing with her and this organization to anyone. Super personable, extremely knowledgeable (we even got a Keys history lesson!); just can’t say enough great things about her and the time we had aboard the Unforgettable. Sarah, thanks for showing us the ropes and hope to sail with you again sometime soon!
I cant say anything about there dives, but I booked the snorkeling trip for my wife and i, it was confirmed and my card was charged 4 days ago. Then we get settled in to our hotel room and I look for the confirmation email, so we knew where to go in the morning. I then find an email, not even a call, that the trip was canceled. Now I am am scrambling to find another trip to go on. Snorkeling was something we did on our honeymoon and thought it would be nice to do on our 12 year anniversary. The whole reason for coming to the keys.
My husband & I really enjoyed this charter! My husband has traveled & snorkeled/been diving more than me but was also impressed. This is my first time in the Keys, never been out on a boat in the ocean to snorkel (tho I have snorkeled in HI), & this seems the way to do it for low-key more individual experience. Only 6 snorkelers on the boat. George, the captain, was hilarious & very friendly. Despite his joking, hes attentive, former coast guard, & knows the waters very well. Highly recommend. We had perfect conditions, low wind, no one else at the reefs yet. Tons of fish, gorgeous corals, huge spotted eagle rays, turtles, very chill & casual trip.
Great time!
It was our second year to sail with Captain George and again just an amazing awesome experience . We didnt have the best viability because of Cindy (hurricane ) But Captain George N first mate Frenchy took us to cpl different reefs and just fantastic day also got to watch nurse shark at dock Do not hesitate BOOK YOUR TRIP
