I dont normally leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with Hoffmans Auto. I took my 2019 F250 to a dealer with a front end wobble. The dealer told me they needed to rebuild the front end and it was just out of warranty with 37,000 miles. And I needed tires. About a thousand dollars in front end work without the cost of tires. I took it to Hoffmans to get another opinion. They looked at it, even checked the alignment, and only found the tires to be a possible issue. I had them change the tires and a steering damper that is on recall through Ford (Ford would replace it with another stock damper that would probably fail again) on the day of the appointment. It was finished on time and at a VERY reasonable cost, $1500 for larger offroad tires that I asked for and something like $160 for the damper. It drove like a new truck. The following morning, I got a call from them following up to see if everything was well and the problem was resolved. I feel they were honest, a good value and that kind of old fashioned customer service you dont find any longer. Im glad I found them and they will be doing all my service and maintenance work moving forward.

Had trouble finding one specific tire and a shop that was excited to do one tire in the first place. These guys were more than happy to help. Not only did they get the tire in by next morning, but they were able to get me in within a few hours and completed installation before I could finish a chapter of my book and make coffee. First experience went amazing and Ill definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

10/10 would recommend Hoffman motors, I was having troubles with my work truck and they knew how important it was I have it back in a hurry to keep business flowing. Got my truck in the day of calling, found the problems, and got it back to me faster than I could have asked for! Not to mention, over a holiday weekend!! Everyone over at Hoffman motors is easy to communicate with and they keep you updated as the process goes. I will most definitely be bringing my vehicle back for any future repairs. I took my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for an oil change, when I received it back it drove better than when I dropped it off. Everything was tight and the ride was really smooth.

Just had oil change there. Kind of bummec that nobody thought to fill the winshield washer tank. Even cheapie quick. Lube places do that.

Al is such a great and honest man. He knows his stuff and doesnt fix and repair stuff you dont need just because. Very respectable and works with you. Hes always my go to guy when I need something done, and have been doing business with Al for about 3 years. Best mechanic/owner Ive ever known who doesnt cheat or lie to you. Hes changed my tune about auto shops. Period.

I came here for a 2 wheel alignment on my winter car after doing some wheel bearings myself. I previously tried a different shop and they tried to tell me that I needed all kinds of parts up front which wasnt the case.I came here at the end of the day on a Friday and they were able to get my car right in. They did a good job and the car drives straight now. The price was good compared to most other shops that I called but their availability is what I liked since they got me in the same day that I called.The only issue that I will note that I had was that I was charged some money for materials and for hazardous waste disposal (total of like $6 or so) but for an alignment I dont see how that is needed. Perhaps for an oil change but maybe they just charge it on every job.Either way, overall a good experience and Ill be back for more alignments in the future on my other cars.

Very friendly, professional, and I have no complaints about the work. The complimentary pick-up and drop-off services were very useful. Got a couple more things I need to hammer out in the car and I will definitely be taking it to them when I have the time and money.

Went there because Kenosha tire was closed. Had a screw in my tire, they advised that it was patchable. Also asked for a tire rotation, when i get home i noticed the tire which had the screw in it that was on the front drivers side, was now on the back drivers side, which makes me not only question the compentancy of who did the patch, if they dont know how to properly rotate tires how well did they do on my patch? Will not come back and will just wait for Kenosha tire if I have to next time i need a mechanic to work on my truck.

I have been going to Hoffmans Auto & Tire for 3 years now. I highly recommend going here; very reasonable prices, very courteous staff, and they always take care of me. I do not know much about cars and for that reason used to worry about repair shops taking advantage of me. I never have to worry about that with Hoffmans; they are 100% reliable and trustworthy. I am so lucky to have found this place because all of the stress that comes with vehicle problems are lessened knowing that Al and his team are doing everything they can to make the experience painless and inexpensive. My truck broke down North of Kenosha on I-94. Pulled off onto side road and found Hoffmans online. Called and told them my problem. Broken pulley wheel and broken serpentine belt. Limped my way to their shop. Got there about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. They were very busy with customer appointments. But they got me right in, got the parts and I was back on the road by 5. And at an extremely fair price. We have quite a few trucks on the road for our business so I am pretty aware of what repair prices are. They saved me the cost of a rental car and a return trip on Monday if they would have had to keep the truck overnight. Thanks Al

I had an excellent experience! Those of you that live in Kenosha, know how bad the roads are, so I had developed some serious suspension issues. The owner was very knowledgeable and took me back into the shop and walked me under the car to show me all the issues and what that meant for the health of my car. Being a single mom, my car is my only way back and forth to work. He went above and beyond to get my car completed within a day. His prices are very reasonable! I will definitely be returning for all my automotive repair needs.

Took my car here for an emissions test and had a question about a noise my car was making and he was able to tell me right away and correct the issue free of charge. Recently I had a bad coolant leak I tried to fix myself but couldn’t. I remembered Mr. Hoffman from my first experience so I took it over and they diagnosed the issue right away and was able to put in a new water pump and housing and all new tires for a great price! Great prices and great customer service. They even shuttled me back to my house and picked me up when it was ready.

Right after Christmas in 2018, I stopped at Hoffmans for an oil change, and I left after spending a little over $800. I had known I would soon need two tires (I forgot about tire rotation previously), pads, and rotors—and I was also lazy about cleaning my air filter. Without mentioning any of that to Dan or Al, the shop immediately identified everything that needed attention. I was impressed. We decided to address everything that day except for the air filter, as I had a new one at home.My car is still under warranty, but Ive been visiting Hoffmans for maintenance for a couple of years, now. Service is always prompt, and everyone working at is friendly, welcoming, and thorough in explaining anything. Thanks so much, Hoffmans!

I had an awesome experience getting my emissions tested here. They were able to renew my plates on the spot and put the stickers on right there. Additionally, staff checked my tire pressure and filled my tires up because they noticed the tires were low. Definitely above and beyond, quick service. Highly recommend.

Being new to the area, were looking for a new car guy, I think weve found them. We brought both our cars in, we received fast, helpful, accurate quotes and both jobs were done quickly and to our satisfaction. The waiting room was clean and comfortable, with fresh coffee and helpful staff. Well be back.

This shop I thought was very honest and trustworthy reading from a review dated from 2010-2011. Brought my truck for fuel leak and check engine lights. What a mistake I made. They fixed the fuel leak and replaced the knock sensor which they told me needed to replace then reset the check engine light. Been back and forth for 2 months for the same check engine light and knock sensor problem. They finally gave up and told me take it to any repair shop and they will pay for the repair they can not fix. Took it to the dealerships and they won’t even return my call to talk about paying the bill. This shop is more concern on taking your hard earned money. No integrity at all. If they do they should at least return the money for the things they can not fix. Very bad experienced with this shop. Will not recommend to anybody. Don’t be taken by Al sweet and friendly talk. Never again to deal with this shop. They are good on state inspection and help you out on little things like low air pressure just to earn your business for the more serious problem in the future.

This is honestly the greatest garage I have ever been to. Brought in a used car to have it examined before purchase and they did a really thorough inspection and were very friendly the whole time. If we lived closer we would come here all the time!

I needed a flat tire repairing, thats all. This was the 4th place I tried, it should have been the first. It will be next time! The staff were friendly, courteous, professional, got the job done quickly and I was back on the road!

This long but, I feel to get the 5 star rating I have to tell the story. If you want the readers digest version, read the last few sentences.Al and his team were really good to me when working on my vehicle. I took them a simple engine dummy light issue while misfiring, that turns out wasnt so simple. This problem turned out to be a major headache to troubleshoot. When they called me to pick it up after having wrestled with the engine to get it to fire correctly. I let the vehicle warm up and all seemed fine until I got into G.Bay Rd and the problem clearly wasnt fixed. I turned around and dropped the vehicle back off obviously dissatisfied. Al called me directly and asked what happened I told him and he apologized and assured me they would do everything they could to fix the misfire. The second go around, they went deeper to remove a major parts of the engine and also to purchase special equipment to troubleshoot. To make a long story a little longer, and to me the best part...they had to go unconventional way to fix my ride but, bottom line they fixed the issue AND Al only charged me for the parts they had to replace. Im not vehicle mechanic, Im not ignorant either, what I paid, versus thier time invested is why I gave them 5 stars. That was Al taking care of a customer. I went from dissatisfied to reflecting on how Al and his team actually did right by me. Im not saying that this will happen to every customer, Im sharing my own experience.I HIGHLY recommend Hoffman for any vehicle work. Al is a Marine so, thats another reason to go there. Support OUR veteran owned businesses!

Al Hoffman is probably the nicest guy ever. I got a flat tire down the street and called him. They were getting ready to close and he sent a guy to fill air in my tire and followed me to the shop. He quoted me $20 over the phone but upon arrival I paid less. He was so honest and humble. I dont trust mechanic shops but this is where Ill be going from now on. Thank you so much Al!!!!

Terrible service. The worst was Ryan Hoffman himself! He followed me and two of my friends around in a very disturbed manner (possibly high) then went about bragging about his Camaro. Im not really a car guy and simply wanted service. Instead he made crude comments as his feelings were hurt then proceeded to enlist his buddies to harrassing us. Worst shop ever!

I have recently moved to Wisconsin and was looking for a trustworthy auto mechanic in the area. I have found that at Hoffmans Auto. I have had nothing but great interactions with the staff. I have interacted most with Dan, who has been very professional and has a genuine caring attitude towards his customers. I also work in a field that involves customer service and just from sitting in the waiting room and observing how the phones are answered and the interactions with other customers, you are able to tell this auto shop really cares about its customers and has a professional/respectful atmosphere. Dan or another staff member will discuss any issues they have found with you and will even bring you back to the shop to review his findings and how he or another mechanic at the shop, discovered the problems. They will always provide costs and a print out of the parts/labor and discuss with you prior to proceeding with the repairs. They are very honest and always work to get you the best price. Hoffmans have always been able to get my cars in a timely manner and even work hard to get them repaired efficiently (recently they called and had a part that had come in 50 minutes before they were to close and worked diligently to get my car fixed that night so I could pick it up; which was a great help to me given I had no other mode of transportation). I know that I will be bringing my vehicles to this shop as long as I live in Wisconsin. Thanks Hoffmans and appreciate all your hard work and efforts

The owner was very friendly when I was there, he and I talked for awhile. When he charged me to put the tires on my car he told me he was charging me more than usual because they had to take extra care so they didnt damage the rims. I was fine with that because I have a brand new 2016 Mustang GT. I got home and saw scrapes from a tool prying and another scrape going halfway around the rim on the same rim. Now I have to pay to have my rims sandblasted and repowder coated black. I really wanted to like this shop, like I said the owner was very friendly. I wouldnt have minded the damage as much if I wasnt charged more to make sure extra care was taken.

First of all, Im not one to do many Google reviews, just when i have an amazing or awful experience. I recently moved to WI and found that my vehicle had to pass a vehicle emissions test, so I went to Hoffmans since it was closest to my home. I failed the inspection because the Check Engine light was on, my fault, go to get it fixed.Then today I brought it back to get it inspected a second time. While waiting for my inspection the manager (?) Allan comes up and tells me that one of his mechanics ran in to another vehicle in the shop while backing my truck out of the bay. My drivers door was scuffed and there was a very small dent in the door. He offered to buffer it out (which is why he gets 2*) and so I waited a few more minutes. I tell him the dent wasnt there before, and he claimed it had to be because the height of the dent didnt match the scuffs. He measured the height of the dent by how high on his hips the dent was, then walked over to the other vehicle and showed me that it couldnt possibly have hit anything on this car.I was skeptical, but didnt want to make a scene right there, so I left. As I get back into my truck to pull away, I find Rejected papers folded up on the passengers seat. For some reason the OBD hadnt reset in the truck from the repairs (again, not his fault), but he never said a word to me about the truck failing the test again. I asked him about it and he said it happens a lot, I needed to drive the truck for 10-15 minutes between 45 and 55 miles an hour for the computer to reset. The curious thing is that the day before I drove the truck from Minneapolis, approximately 400 miles, during which the computer should have reset. When I got home I decided I wanted the companys insurance information and Allans response was, I would prefer you call the police and we all meet here and discuss it. Again, not an unfair response, but his tone and attitude were hostile.At the end of the day its a small dent on a truck that doesnt carry a lot of value, so Im not going to involve police and spend hours just to, at best, get the dent fixed. I am more upset with how the business handled themselves more than anything else, and I definitely wont be going back. If youve read this far, take my opinion with a grain of salt if you choose to but I had to let others know about my experience.

I cant say I was thrilled. The mechanic was very polite, but I told him I suspected problems with the spark plugs and exhaust system, and he called me later saying the plugs were fine, but his diagnostic computer indicated I needed a new master computer chip, an expensive part. He eventually sent me to the dealership down the road, and they said there were no codes coming up on their diagnostic computer, but the plugs badly needed replacing, and the noise I was hearing was due to the exhaust manifold not being fully connected to the engine. I dont think the fellow at Hoffmans was dishonest, he waived the diagnostic fee since he couldnt get the part, but he was definitely not listening to me, and his diagnostic computer needs work.

So sad they charge you for every little thing. I worked for a dealership for 10 years, the part core charge is on the Napa receipt. Dude jacked the price up instead of charging what was on receipt. They were fast in her to g the vehicle in and done but really....have to crunch numbers to give a core charge dollar amount. Bad choice of words!

What a rip off!!! My husband took his car here and it cost us over $2300 with being charged $709 for a tune-up that wasnt completed! A few weeks after took the car to another automotive place to find out Hoffmans DID NOT change ALL Spark plugs and NOT one of the wires! So why the heck were we charged $709 for a tune-up and only a few spark plugs were changed!! I wouldnt recommend going here at all!!

I brought my truck there for a simple alignment. When I dropped it off I took a picture of the odometer and fuel gauge. After the first time they aligned it I immediately dropped it off as it was in the same condition it was in when I dropped it off ( the steering wheel was off because the last place that aligned it didnt straighten the wheel out when they did it). So the next day they called me and said it was done. When I picked the truck up and was pulling out of the parking lot I noticed that when I turned the wheel the truck wanted to keep driving straight as if the rear end was locked up, but I thought it was probably nothing and just took it home for the night. After pulling out of their parking lot my fuel light came on and had to go straight to the gas station. While filling up I looked at the pictures on my phone to make sure and they used a quarter tank of fuel (25 gallon tank) and put 41 miles on the truck. I have been driving the truck for 10 years and never burned that kind of fuel in that short of time, that should have lasted at least 100 miles. While I was driving back to my shop I noticed the thing still wanted to go straight and the rear end would not unlock. When I got back to the shop I pulled the cover off the rear end and the teeth were all chewed up and the rear end was locked in posi rendering the truck a ticking time bomb that could not be driven that way without risking serious further damage and potentially locking it up completely on the highway causing an accident. After waiting a week to hear back from the owner Al Hoffman because he was on vacation in Florida when this happened I tried being reasonable with him and only asked him to pay for the parts to fix it. ( I certainly didnt want them working on it again because who knows what they would have done now that I called them out on their customer vehicle abuse). I thought I was being pretty fair and reasonable. Then because he was not getting back to me I needed the truck so I just went ahead and fixed it. After being very polite and trying to be as fair as I could be with the guy as I being a business owner myself I know how it is and Al Hoffman is not the one working on the truck and doing the abuse it was his employees, so as long as he made it right then what more could I ask for. Well finally after calling several times and being told he was with a customer I stopped in there 3 weeks later. This is when Al Hoffman told me that I had no proof that his employees abused my vehicle and the damage was caused by that abuse. I told him the truck was fine when it came in and broken when it left with an excessive amount of fuel consumed. He again said I had no proof, to which I said, even if I was standing here watching them beat on it you would still tell me that because you werent here with me watching. To this he replied that I was right and basically told me too bad its not his problem. Then I told him I will be making sure to leave reviews online and make sure to tell everyone I can find about his poor business practices. His response to this was you own a busiess too and that can go both ways. I told him this has nothing to do with my business and only concerns my personal vehicle and he again told me he can essentially give my company bad reviews as retaliation. At this point I lost my cool and started yelling at which point one of his employees came out from in back and then Al Hoffman yelled at me to get out of his shop and started walking and getting up in my face along with his employee. So obviously I left.And now that its 3 weeks later, my right front tire is showing serious signs of wear and needs to get aligned again because they couldnt even do that right.So I would NOT recommend this shop as they abuse their customers vehicles and then if ask them to pay for it they will tell you that you have no proof of it and then if you try to do anything about it they will retaliate against you in any dirty way. These are a bunch of scum bags who make a living by screwing their customers.
