This sunrise tour was one of the best experiences for me in Hawaii! Our tour guide, Glenn, was very thorough and knowledgable. He made the tour better with his insight of where to get the best view of the sunrise. He brought extra jackets for us who didn’t reserve one, which was a life saver! The breakfast at Kula Lodge was the cherry on top! I would book with Skyline again!
The entire tour is a complete blast!!It starts with the bus coming to pickup in the hotel at 2:30am to drive us to the top of the Haleakala summit.Believe me, its 10000% worthy, you need to get there as early as possible to get the best spot and our guide Bill was spot on!! He made our bus to be the 1st one and we not only got a great spot to watch the sunrise but also covered from the wind. Yes, over there it can reach lower temperatures (we got 40oF / 5oC) and even with their jackets we were freezing, but not as bad as it could be when we left the spot and hit the hard wind! Bill also gave great tips on pictures ! In the bus ride he was great giving us a lot of information about the park and the story about Maui. After the amazing sunrise we were taken to zipline, that was also amazing!! A lot of fun and the instructor Ray makes everything even more funny!! Kudos to Bill and Ray!!Dont miss this, you will definitely love it.
My wife loved the sunrise tour on Maleakala volcano. The views were incredible. Glenn our tour guide picked us up at our trolley stop on time and was very knowledgeable of Maui and the volcano. The tour company supplied us with nice warm jackets when we got to the summit which really came in handy when its 35 degrees outside.
My husband and I took the Haleakala National Park Sunrise Tour with Skyline Hawaii, and it was absolutely incredible. Being able to see the sunrise over a volcano was truly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Our tour guide, Keith, was also great! He was friendly, extremely knowledgable, and a great driver, which is particularly important when you’re driving up a mountain in the middle of the night. The restaurant we stopped at for breakfast after the sunrise had delicious food and offered beautiful views. This tour was worth every penny, and I highly recommend it!
The overall experience was great, and our driver Bill was super friendly and a wealth of information. Seriously impressive all the facts he was able to share during our bus ride. The only “downside” was breakfast really wasn’t that great and the gift shop had no souvenir shirts left on the shelves to purchase (the shop worker was kind of rude when I asked about it). Overall it was a great experience and something you should consider checking out as the sunrise was beautiful. Definitely be prepared for it to be COLD, especially if it’s a windy day!!
INCREDIBLE experience, from start to finish. We did the sunrise and zip line combo - and we wouldnt have done it any other way. Everyone was so great: Trevor, our driver, gave us a peaceful ride there and had so much genuinely interesting knowledge about the land, culture, and wildlife on the way back down the mountain. Kevin and Chauncey were our zip line guides and they were so funny and we definitely felt like we were in good hands with them. Highly, highly recommend both excursions, they definitely were a hallmark for our trip.
The sunrise at Mt. Haleakala was the most memorable part of our trip to Maui! The views are breathtaking and it is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Our tour guide Trevor was great and I would highly recommed his tour! He was accomodating, very knowledgable, and ensured a safe ride for all guests.
Glenn is an amazing guide! Request him! He talks a lot but mostly at appropriate times and is full of great Hawaiin knowledge. He is funny, thoughtful and all around a good dude. We got lucky and had an amazing sunrise. Glenn was punctual all around. The breakfast was good and the spot was sensational. We picked up a lot of great tips and knowledge from Glenn. Skyline Hawaii is definitely worth it. The bus was comfortable and we arrived in time to get a great spot along the railing. Many other tours got there later and struggled for good space. Dress appropriately in layers cause it is cold and windy. No worries though, Skyline provided awesome jackets to help. What an experience! Thank you Skyline and Glenn🤙
Awesome tour with tour guide Mana!! The view of the sunrise was incredible and a once in a lifetime experience! Just be sure to dress warmly because it was extremely windy the day we were there. They do provide jackets which helped a lot.
This trip was amazing!Loved the whole trip with our driver Trevor he was courteous professional and very knowledgeable. He made the trip! Also the zip line guys (Ha’a and Chauncey) were super funny and full of energy. Overall this was worth every penny.
What a great experience. They confirmed the pick up time the day before. They were very punctual on when they picked us up from where we were staying. Keith, our tour guide, was very informative and explained a lot about the island on the way up to the crater. They provided jackets which was very helpful when it came to one less thing to pack. Afterwards, we went to a great lodge for breakfast and the food was delicious. The only thing we wish we could do was spend a little more time to do the little hike afterwards. Other than that, it was perfect and I strongly recommend using this company in the future. Thanks for a wonderful experience!!
Trevor was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! He made sure that we were comfortable and aware of every step of the tour. He was personable, informative and very funny! My husband and I truly had a wonderful experience
Excellent tour, and worth getting up early for! Glen was a great guide, knowlegeable, funny, he helped make our day, and the company should be fortunate to have someone with his qualities.
Bill is a great tour guide and was educating us through out the tour. We did the sunrise tour and had the best possible experience on the mountain. Highly recommend this.
A few of things you need to know about the sunrise tour:- Its inherently a gamble. The summit was cloudy during our visit, which significantly reduced the visibility of the sunrise. Obviously this is outside anyones control, but its important to keep in mind when deciding whether to book.- Youll meet your tour bus at 2:30am. Wow thats early. If you treasure your sleep, this may not be the experience for you.- The view from the restaurant where we had breakfast was spectacular, but the food was subpar.Having said that, it was still a cool tour. The clouds that rolled over us at the summit changed color as the sun rose, which was a unique experience. Our bus driver Trevor was punctual and gave us a comprehensive history of Hawaii during our drive back down the mountain.
Wonderful time on this tour! Trevor is a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. We were lucky to be there with covid limits and far less crowds. Glad he did the driving so we could just sit back and relax. The jackets they provided were a definite benefit!
We had an awesome time! Our guide/driver, Mana, is fantastic! He got us in the right spot to capture breathtaking photos. He provided us with history and did a great job taking some pictures of us. Book it!!
This zip lining adventure was very interesting our, guides were well informed on the island and how they are also trying to conserve it. The guides were Anthony and Haile. They did an outstanding job and made it a fantastic time!
We did the Haleakala tour with Skyline Hawaii and it was absolutely amazing. If you visit Maui this is a must do for sure. It was an unforgettable and gorgeous experience that my mom and I will never forget! We definitely recommend that you do the tour however since its slightly terrifying to do that scale up the mountain in the dark. Our Skyline guide Chris handled and the little twists and turns with ease and made sure to leave us ample time to take lots of memorable photos. Please, please be sure to bundle up before you go!! Even with the winter gear provided by Skyline, it was still FREEZING!!
I could not be anymore happier with the service, I had a great experience with this company and their tour.
This was our second time doing the Haleakala National Park Sunrise Tour with Skyline Tours. Our first experience with was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING back in Oct 2019. So much so, we knew going back in Aug of 2021, we would use Skyline again. This time around, the experience fell well below my prior experience. I totally understand the impact of COVID and the tour itself is weather dependent (and it didnt cooperate at all this time). However, what I didnt expect was the feeling of being rushed through the entire event. The group was told we had 30 minutes for breakfast and that we needed to be back on the bus by a given time - which was only exasperated by having out tour guide come get us 5 mins before that time was just humiliating and made us feel like elementary school kids. In the end, I was surprised to find the tour ended 2-3 hours faster than our last trip. Again, totally understand COVID protocols but that is no reason to be scurried along like preschoolers.
We absolutely loved the Haleakalā sunrise tour. Hotel pick-up and drop-off, refreshments, breakfast, warm jackets, and gloves — all you have to do is show up. Our guide, Bill, was very knowledgeable of Hawaiian history and relevant geological facts, which all added to the trip’s fun — always good to learn something new. His outgoing and engaging personality was the icing on the cake. The sunrise was gorgeous and we had a great viewing spot. A definite event to experience while here in Maui.
6/4/21 was our 2nd Haleakalā Classic Sunrise Tour with Skyline. Stellar company. Trevor is a skilled driver, a great storyteller, and a very polite and courteous gentleman. We will always book with Skyline when in Maui! Everything was clean including the warm coats they provide! Cant beat the breakfast stop at Kula Lodge! And of course, the sunrise did not disappoint! Thoroughly enjoyed our day! Very well done!
Sunrise tour - our driver was Carlos who was a wonderful guide. We were the first tour bus to arrive. Our viewing was beside the visitor center. The experience was priceless to see the sky full of stars then to see the sunrise from beneath the clouds. On our way down the mountain, we stopped at several view points. Then onto a delicious breakfast.
We did the Haleakalā sunrise tour and it went beyond our expectations. The communication prior to the tour was prompt and and our guide showed up to our resort on time. Our guide, Bill, was FANTASTIC. He was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Maui and the Haleakalā National Park - we learned so much. He got us to the summit safely and early, so we had perfect viewing spots for the sunrise. There were two photo opportunities that he suggested that ended up being true highlights of our photo reels from the trip (timelapse & panoramic). COVID protocols of masks and sanitation were followed. Breakfast at Kula Lodge was great, the views were beautiful. We would absolutey use Skyline Hawaii for tours on future trips.
I had the pleasure of working with Skyline on their website. I was really impressed with their commitment to delivering a user friendly, gorgeous and highly secure website to their customers. They cut no corners in ensuring the site was easy to navigate, intuitive and efficiently integrated with marketing and transactional tools. The trips are amazing and track record of this team us strong. On top of that they take care of their team, the community, and their natural surroundings. I look forward to joining them in some island adventures soon!
Keith was our guide. He was friendly informative and brought us to the best spot for the sunrise. Highly recommended! This was a great tour of the crater at sunrise
Sunrise tour was amazing! Carlos was a wonderful tour guide. He got us to the top before all the other tour buses. So we got the best spot to see the sunrise. My 82 year old grandmother who uses a walker was about to get around at the top of the mountain. The jackets, gloves and earmuffs they provided were extremely nice to have at the top. It was very cold. Bus was comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was delicious with a beautiful view. Only thing that could have been better was the office where we picked up jackets was not handicap accessible. But over all a wonderful experience!
Glen, our driver for the day was knowledgeable and funny!!! He has been here forever and makes the tour personable. Love him!!! Justin and has counterpart did a wonderful job on the zip line course. They were funny, helpful and engaging!!!! Would recommend this tour for all ages!!!!
Keith made this tour 100x better! Really knows his stuff about the island and he Got us the best seat In the house at haleakala sunrise! Thank you so much! Highly recommend you guys Thank you!!
I would highly recommend Skyline Hawaii for a trip to the top of Haleakalā. From the time we were picked up until we were dropped off everything was handled professionally. They got us to the top of the volcano in time to get a good spot along the fence, explained what was going to happen and when, even gave us a few inside tips and tricks. After the sunrise our driver Chris, took us to a few of his favorite spots and gave us some history of the site and of Hawaii. It was extremely informative. The transportation was clean and well maintained. They provided a light breakfast before the trip to the top. Coats, gloves and pants are provided but you should still dress warm. It is very cold at the top and you will be there for nearly 2 hours. The place we stopped for breakfast was amazing. See my review of Kula Lodge for more details.
The Haleakalā National Park sunrise tour put on by Skyline Hawaii provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience with breathtaking views from the summit, a hilarious and informative guide who drove our (quite comfortable) shuttle door to door both ways. WOW! These guys thought through every detail of the experience, and the Sunrise & Zip tour really delivered and actually exceeded expectations for our whole group (my wife and our two friends). In the end, it made waking up in the middle of the night well worth it. Do not miss this one!
We did a zipline tour in Maui, and we had the best time! I have a younger brother with Autism Spectrum Disorder and apraxia, and we were unsure if he would be comfortable zip lining, but the young men leading our tour were the kindest and most helpful people you’ll ever meet. They are accommodating to absolutely everyone. Highly recommend doing this experience!
The Road to Hana tour with Skyline Hawaii has been by far the best tour I have ever taken, and one of the best days of my life. While the tour is amazing and the landscape is heavenly, I credit my amazing experience to the guide. Ikaika/Travis was simply amazing. As a rule, any tour in Hawaii with a native Hawaiian guide will be the right experience, but this tour exceeded all my expectations. Ikaika is not just friendly, he makes you feel like family the entire time. I felt right away like I have known him all my life, and cried when we said good bye. It was like saying goodbye to a very good friend.Ikaika is native to Maui, more precisely to Hana, and knows all the ins and outs of the island and the road to Hana. He knows every single thing worth seeing, he knows everyone you encounter on the way, he teaches you what is the expected behavior and how to respect the culture and traditions of Maui. I have never learned so much on any tour. I learned a lot of Hawaiian language, stories, traditions, etc. The guide was able to keep the full bus engaged for the entire duration of the trip, from 7 am till 6pm. He played the ukulele and sang for us during our lunch break, let us feed his horses, and took us to visit amazing sites on the way to Hana.I cannot recommend this tour enough, however make sure you ask for Ikaika as your guide. I cannot vouch for the other tour guides, but I can guarantee if you take a tour with Ikaika, you will have a memorable experience.I will be going back next year to take the Sunrise Haleakala tour with Skyline Hawaii.
We did the Haleakala sunrise tour and had Keith as our tour guide. Everything about this experience was incredible, from communication leading up to the tour, our guide, and the experience as a whole. To start, initially we planning to do the sunrise as DIY but as our trip to Hawaii got closer we realized getting self entry tickets to the park for sunrise was near impossible. All the tours we looked for were sold out but Skyline put me on a “wait list” incase other tour bookers cancelled. Two days before our trip we were lucky and got the call that they had some cancellations and could put us on one of the tours for the day we wanted. The day before the trip the company called again to confirm our reservation details. They let me know they could pick us up from our condo if we wanted rather than going to one of the park and rides which was a huge relief! The morning of the sunrise tour the company sent me updated ETAs for when the bus would be arriving to pick us up so we didn’t have to wait outside at 130 am with no idea of how long it would take, We instead got the comfort of waiting in our condo and getting a text when our stop was next, so we only had to wait out for about 5 minutes after the text.During the whole tour Keith got to know everyone who boarded, added a ton of amazing commentary about the tour, but also provided a ton of other recommendations of things to do and see while in Maui, including tips for getting a head of the crowd when we were going snorkeling and also going to do the road to Hana later in the week. This review could go on for ever with positive feedback so I’ll stop with those highlights. If you have an opportunity to book a tour with this company I highlyRecommend it!!!
We had never been zip-lining before and the friendly folks at Skyline Eco Adventures made it accessible and fun for our whole group! We were a group of six, ages between 30 and 65. Everyone had a blast and said how much we wanted to do it again. A big part of that was how fun our guides were. Kamalu and Andrew rocked our adventure and made it twice as fun with their fast paced humor! Wed do it again in a heartbeat!
François made the Road to Hana a pleasure. I can see why he said its called the Divorce Highway: it would be a stressful drive for anyone. Folks, dont drive that road if you can take Skyline. Out past Hana, on the way around the southern side of Maui, its well worth the run. Lets just say François knows how to have fun... haha.
What an amazing experience for both sunrise & ziplines. We had to reschedule due to weather conditions & the company was able to set us the next day. So glad we chose this company. They provided excellent service from start to finish. All of our guides were amazing, both our bus drivers & zip line (Kevin & Chauncey) crew. Thanks very much for fulfilling a wonderful experience.
Keith is very Friendly and entertaining.
Well worth it. Our Driver : Guide Terry was great, he was very detailed. They treated us with snacks and good breakfast. Drive was comfortable and on time. The view at Haleakala was breathtaking must see !!!
I booked via the phone because I has questions. That was the start of a great experience. Every single person from Skyline, even at horrible 4 a.m. in the morning were nice! Out driver was Kane and he was awesome. He drove really well and on the way back found ways to distract us while we were on the path with a sheer drop off. He was knowledgeable about the area and the history. He gave us an opportunity to choose our experience from offering different topics, to music or the app. I would definitely do an excursion with this company again.
The view was stunning. They pick you up at the perfect time, gives you a chance to have some treats / beverage to wake you up before the view at the summit. We reached the summit at an excellent time as well, other excursion companies reached later meaning they had to stand further back, so I appreciated that as well. The breakfast lounge was great. Food was delicious. They also pick you up and drop you off the place youre staying at, which is very convenient. Thanks for everything !
The sunrise tour was amazing! Our driver and guide, Terry, was very knowledgable and friendly. He had extensive knowledge of the area. The tour was well organized and pick up was prompt in the morning. It is a very well run tour and the sunrise itself was beyond words. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone!
We did the zip-lining & Haleakala tour with Skyline Hawaii. Our zip-line guides, Manny & Caleb, were hilarious and told us about the history of the islands and landscapes we saw. It was a really authentic experience and I appreciated how safe they made me feel. Haleakala was a last minute booking and I think it was worth every penny. It was so nice for someone to handle all the driving, tell me about Haleakalas history, and end with a beautiful breakfast overlooking Hawaii. Our tour guide, Alan, had a smile on his face from 2:30 am to the time we departed in the afternoon. Your money will be well spent with this organization- they are also a member of 1% for the Planet.
We went on a Haleakala sunrise tour, with breakfast at the Kula Lodge. All experiences were as advertised, the driver was knowledgeable and drove reasonably. Food at the lodge was good. They provided blue insulated windbreaker type jackets. Take them! Even if you brought your own. Also provided gloves, which was a good deal.
We had a great experience on the sunrise, bike, and zip tour. The biking was by far the best part and we highly recommend adding this to your trip if you decide to splurge. The sunrise in our opinion was a little hyped up but still beautiful to see. It was freezing up there so definitely wear long, thick pants and maybe even fuzzy socks because our legs and feet were the most cold. We brought our own gloves and hats which were life savers. Skyline provides jackets which were also warm but i still recommend layering with a sweatshirt and a long sleeve. The drive was nice and smooth and our driver, Bill, was super knowledgeable about the crater and the area surrounding. The biking was so beautiful. Scary at first, but 1000% worth it. The Zipline was fun.. 5 lines to zip down and the guys helping us out were super chill and fun to hang with. Also, being vegetarian, we were worried about the veggie wrap lunch option but were very surprised with it. It was actually very yummy. Overall, the experience was a good one but we didn’t think that the sunrise view was worth the $528. If your heart is set on seeing it, maybe it would be worth it for you but for us personally, we probably could have skipped this excursion.
We did the Sunrise and Zip tour and it was incredible. Bill was our guide on the bus and he was great! Very informative and fun guy. The view at the top is well worth the early wake up.For zip lining we had Kevin, Chauncey and Austin and they were awesome!! I was pretty nervous about ziplinging and they totally made those nerves go away. They were hilarious and made it so much fun!
We loved our Haleakala Sunrise Tour with Zip Line this morning. Above all it was right on time which is greatly appreciated at 2:45 AM and our driver was knowledgeable about the history of Maui past and present. He expanded my limited knowledge of this island paradise by ten fold at least. I say that whenever you learn something with your experience that it is well worth it. I was surprised most of the passengers did not tip upon exiting. In San Francisco people usually tip generously for service. I guess it depends on your local customs.
I am an avid World traveler and have been on many tours. This tour and tour guide was by far the best. Its a slightly difficult tour as its at night and you wont sleep. Its totally worth it. Eric was smart, knowledgeable about so many things about Maui, Hawaii, and the Volcano and land. He drove us up to the top of this spectacular Mountain/Volcano which allowed us to be higher than Mount Everest and higher than clouds and a tad over 10,000 ft above water. The sunrise was beyond stunning. It was a memory Ill always remember. Please bring warm North American winter clothes or youll be really cold although you are provided with a coat, gloves, and head warmer I still suggest wearing obviously closed shoes, Pants and even layers like jeans and sweats over them and a sweatshirt over your top before wearing them and maybe bring a blanket too. They take you to a gorgeous restaurant for breakfast and the food was great and the restaurant was beautiful and had beautiful views. There was a store attached that had local products too. Thanks Eric. I learned a lot from you and felt very safe. It was a great morning. We could see the Volcanos in Hawaii from the summit.
We had such a great time doing this tour! Our tour guy Danno was great! Even though it was freezing up there that didn’t stop us from having a good time. They give jackets which helped more than I thought. Breakfast and lunch were delicious!! We definitely recommend Skyline to anyone who is coming to Maui!
Had such a great time on this trip! I met lots of fun people and the staff was excellent. Most of us took a nap on the way back to our hotels and we returned around 12:30. We’d done two days worth of fun excursions and still had time to rest, and go to the beach when we got home. GREAT experience and definitely worth it.
Had a ROAD TO HANA tour with our guide Kane. The whole round trip has fabulous views and Kane is super knowledgeable with the local stories! Highly recommended this bus tour trip! I know for sure with all the zigzagging, S turn, one-way bridges and narrow road, I can’t do it by myself!
Aloha Al (Alan)was...how should I say? Perfect. What a treat he was. He was knowledgeable, professional, great sense of humour and engaged with everyone on board. The only downside of this experience was through not fault of his own. Our wait for breakfast was quite lengthy. He called in our orders early so that by the time we made it to the restaurant it would be a smooth experience, but we still had to wait 30-40 minutes to be served. That doesn’t seem that bad but after being up for 8+ hours any extra minute feels like an eternity. But honestly it was nothing compared to all the memories my wife and I made on this trip.Totally worth doing, especially if you get Al as your guide. Cheers from Maryland!
We did Haleakala and the Road to Hana during our honeymoon stay in Maui. Honestly, the tour guides really make and complete the experience by helping you understand the history and culture behind these wonderful places and keeping it fun with humor and lots of interaction. Dave, our guide and driver for Haleakala, was full of jokes and information and helped us to appreciate our trip up to the heavens to soak up some mana. Austin, our guide and driver for Hana, was awesome, funny, and very fun to chat with. As a local, he definitely knew what he was doing during the drive and made sure everyone was safe and doing well throughout the trip. He even waded on foot through a sketchy bridge which had overflowed due to the excessive rainfall to check if we could safely cross. Thanks Austin and Dave, you guys made our honeymoon that much more awesome!
If you want to visit Haleakala this is the way to go. The tour is relaxing and informative and they have great tour guides. Danno was our guide and was a lot of fun to spend the morning with. The coat and gloves they provided were very nice and the breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend this tour!!!
Great tour company- only company who provide thick jackets and gloves for the sunrise because it gets cold. Awesome views at the top. Bruce provided us with lots of great information along the way, as well as some laughs!
The Haleakala summit Sunrise tour was breath taking and a dont miss/must do activity on Maui! Paul was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and personable. Thanks for a outstanding Morning Paul
Our driver Glen was excellent. The views were incredible and the biking was amazing! Definitely a must do if you are in Maui.
The skyline tour to Haleakala is fantastic I recommend it to anyone but don’t just do the sunrise part do the bicycle and zip lines parts, I’m so glad I did the whole tour. The bicycle part was one of my favorite if your an adrenaline junky you will love the bicycle and zip line and Glenn was our guide, he filled the tour with locale information on the plant and animal life and history, he was fantastic. It was worth every cent I spent on the whole tour. Can’t wait to go back to Maui Cory.
Overall, we had a great tour. Keith, our driver from the central station to the top of the mountain, was very informative and provided a safe and peaceful ride. Whats nice is that the company provides gloves and a warm jacket for this tour, so you dont have to lug around these items to Hawaii. Further, we really enjoyed the zip line experience part of the tour - Chauncey and Kevin were hilarious, and as it was my first time zip lining, they really helped me feel at ease and enjoy the experience. The reason for the 4 ranking vs a 5 was our initial driver in the AM to get to the central station. He was 25 minutes late from the time we were told to be downstairs, and he was extremely rude to a Japanese family in our group who did not speak much English. He often evoked what I considered racist and derogatory comments, which was completely unacceptable.
The most amazing sunrise Ive ever seen in my life. Our guide Kane was very knowledgeable about Mauis history, its legends, culture and took us to the best spot to witness a spectacular view of Haleakalá Crater & Sunrise. This is a must do experience and Skyline Hawaii Tours will deliver! Thanks to the entire team. They greeted us with coffee, tea, cookies, fruit and provided us with additional garments to withstand the windy and chilly weather. They provided us with an excellent breakfast after the tour.Sincerely,A very Satisfied CustomerFrancisco De Leon from California.
We had a fabulous trip today with Richard. He was funny and informative. On the way back to the hotel we were swapped buses and groups and drivers to drop us back off at .our hotels.Unfortunately my experience was then not so good as an awful American woman was nasty to our driver and i felt very uncomfortable
The Skyline Haleakala Sunrise n Zip Tour was truly awesome. Our guide Paul was informative, energetic, funny and encouraged exploration. The early morning start is well worth it as the sunrise was spectacular. Skyline provided jackets and gloves which were very much needed at 10,000 feet. The five ziplines were exhilarating as the guides talked after conservation, kept you smiling with their wacky sense of humor and made sure you felt safe throughout.
We used Skyline to view the sunrise from the top of Haleakala. The bus arrived right on time as expected and their communication is excellent. Our driver (Carlos) was outstanding and gave some great insights into the history of Haleakala and Maui. The ride up is very comfortable. Although the 3am pick up is challenging. The view from the top is amazing, even though we had some cloud cover. There is a challenge to this though, you need to be able to brave cold conditions (2 degrees Celsius with wind chill) for around 1 and a half hours. There a rent many vantage points so you need to get there early and hold a spot. Whilst jackets, pants and gloves are provided, I would recommend bringing your own cold weather gear, as it is freezing. We are both skiers and this is still the coldest I can remember being. Otherwise, highly recommend Skyline.
Bruce was our tour guide and he was amazing. Has this radio announcer voice that made him easy to hear and understand. He answered everybodys questions.
Our family of four had the greatest time on this activity. First the drive up the mountain is a blast. Seems a bit wild but the driver knows what hes doing and if you look at the tires on that van, you know its for off-road driving. The two guides, Joe and Cliff, fantastic. They made the trip fun and always encouraged us to be a little crazy in our jumps off the platforms. Safety was number one so it was just a very nice day. I would recommend this activity as a must for anyone going to Maui and ask for Joe and Cliff. The view at lunch...stunning and the food was great too...I had the veggie sandwich and it looked better than the meat one :).the only negative, they just started the photo taking business. $10 per person in your party and the guides take the pictures. If you have a good camera and are taking pictures along the way of the scenery and your party...well...lets just say they need to add photos from out on the zip line and some video to make it worth your while.be sure to take some cash for a tip at the end of your zip.Its a two thumbs up activity. Thank you for a great day.
My husband and I took the Haleakala sunrise tour with Eric and it was great! The tour was beautiful and Eric was really fun and helpful, always providing insight into the science and culture behind the island. He also took great pictures of everyone, pointing out the most scenic vistas.Thank you so much!
We took the classic sunrise tour in November 2019, had a pretty bad experience with guide Kane.He seemed so focused on the keeping to the timeline, the enjoyment of the tour goers seemed like an afterthought or not even a thought at all.He was not only unhelpful in answering questions but he generally became argumentative.Example:Q: How long does the sunrise last?A: He points to the sky and indicates that it lasts all day until the sun sets.
The only reason I give this 4 stars, is the price. It was $760 for 3 people, 2 adults and 1 child. This was the sunrise and zip lining tour. Glen was our bus driver. He was super informative and funny too. The sunrise was amazing!! The zip lining was soooo fun and the zip guides were hilarious and super fun. We had Brennan and pana (I know I’m spelling this wrong, but I lost my paper with their names). I hope brown sugar gives them extra cash or something, for us giving them a shout out😝
My wife had never been to Hawaii before. So I purposely had our vacation booked full with activities. One of the activities was the Haleakala Sunrise Tour for our wedding anniversary. After we spent 10 days in Hawaii between Maui, Lanai and Oahu, the wife said the Haleakala Sunrise was her favorite part of the whole trip. I would definitely recommend this activity and I would definitely suggest doing it on one of the first few days during your visit while your body clock is still on a later time zone. Because the tour bus will pick you up from your hotel between 2am-3am. On a side note, our tour guide Dave was awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Such a fun time! We came to do zip lining when it was raining and Kevin and Kualoa were so much fun! They told great jokes and kept the mood light while also keeping us safe! I would absolutely do it again, and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun thrilling activity!!
I couldnt tell you my review. I was sick with the flu and couldnt eat so we had to fight for a refund or reschedule. After getting the hotel involved to support us they decided to refund my ticket but not my wifes. Because you know, technically she wasnt sick so she could go and leave me at the hotel. Yes. Great idea. My wife is going to leave the hotel at 1:40 am with strangers alone and spend the next 15 hours riding a bike and ziplining with strangers. Id honestly rather not have any refund than an answer that stupid.
Due to a bad bout of motion sickness / illness on the morning of the tour, we weren’t able to make it to the sunrise hike, but the staff went absolutely out of their way to accommodate us. They called in a driver at 3:30am to get us back to our hotel (there are no Ubers around the area at that time of day), waited for us to decide if we were going to make it to the tour, offered to reschedule us for as early as the next day, but ultimately gave us a full refund because the remainder of our schedule wouldn’t allow us to make it. I cannot say enough amazing things about this company. Highly recommend for the customer service alone! When we come back to Maui we will definitely be booking a tour with Skyline.
Going to the summit of haleakala with skyline tours was great. They were on time to pick us up and communicated clearly throughout the whole tour. They provided extra jackets and gloves, which was great since it is very cold at the summit. Our driver was Danno, he was very informative about haleakala and very funny. He told lots of jokes along the way. Also he offered to take pictures of us and all the other people on the tour. We stopped for breakfast on the way back, and had some time to wander around the gift shop there. Overall a great experience.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEIR RACIST TOUR GUIDES!!The tour was well planned and the they provided jackets and all necessary accessories but our experience was completely trashed up by one of their tour guides who decided to publicly shout at us for standing few minutes longer at a spot where he wanted to take photos.(Mind you, he had not requested before and we were completely unaware that he was waiting). Even after we moved away from the spot apologizing for being there, he continued to shout back at us about how we shouldnt be hogging a place. As we asked for his name his shouting continued. To avoid further embarrassment we just moved away.
Kane was our tour guide and he was a blast! He really made the sunrise trip to Haleakalā a lot of fun! We loved his explanations of the Hawaiian history and language! Highly recommend this tour! My only advice is to download the Skyview app in the Play Store or Apple Store BEFORE you leave their headquarters...the stars are amazing up in the summit before sunrise and its neat to use this app to see what youre looking at in the sky!
Very well organized and worthwhile tour which met expectations. Bruce was an engaging, knowledgeable and efficient tour guide. One area for improvement would be to expand rest room capacity at the Skyline facility.
We had a wonderful time with Skyline tour. Our tour guide Dave was awesome . He Spent good amount of time sharing the history and culture of Hawaiians. He was very helpful and we throughly enjoyed our sunrise and totally recommend Skyline tours and tour guide Dave.
Great tour and amazing experience. We did a tour with breakfast - the lodge is a very pretty place and the food was also good. A must to have experience when you are on the island!!!!
Great tour. Prompt pick up. Early arrival to the summit. Knowledgeable tour guide. Yummy breakfast.
Awesome tour company. Took a tour to view the sunrise at house of the rising sun then ziplined down the mountain. Very informative drivers telling you all about the area
My husband and I took the Haleakalā sunrise tour with Erik as our guide. He was awesome!!They picked us up at the entrance to our condo at 2am with a nice van. With only 14 passengers we only had a few other stops and headed straight to their headquarters. There we found a wonderful continental breakfast (no scrimping) coffee, juice and our warm jackets, gloves and pants. We suited up there and boarded our van for the trip to the summit. We arrived a little over an hour prior to sunrise. So be prepared for that! You will be standing outside by the rail overlooking the crater in freezing cold weather. We were so lucky we had the coats, pants and gloves provided. I don’t know how the other people handled it wrapped in hotel blankets. My mistake- no socks with my shoes. My feet were frozen. But it was worth it!! The stars in the sky were an added bonus because I don’t recall ever seeing them that close and so visible. Then the sunrise!! No words. Spectacular and worth being so cold! After sunrise pics that Erik took for us (wed have never had the cool pics we did otherwise), he drove us up where we had multiple photo ops. He was awesome and took multiple pics of everyone in our group with our cameras or phones! I’d have never gotten photos like that otherwise.A great breakfast was the added bonus on the way down. We stopped at the Kula Lodge in upcountry. Amazing views, good food and a wonderful gift shop!We were back at our condo by 11:30.I would highly recommend Skyline Hawaii for your tours!!Thx Erik for a highlight of our trip!!
Wonderful honeymoon experience. Bill was our tour guide and he went above and beyond to educate us about Hawaii. The activities were also a blast, I highly recommend a GoPro.
The customer service was amazing. The guides were very funny and made you feel important. Some people would not like how unprofessional and laid back it seems but I personally loved that. The actual zipline experience wasnt amazing but it was still fun. Very quick and short. This place definitely survives off of their amazing customer service. I would recommend this one for kids or people afraid of heights but not people seeking adventures.
TRAVIS is the best !!!!! Hands down if you do book this tour, please ask for Travis he was an amazing tour guide. He took care of us from 6am- till 7pm he showed us every little details on road to Hana. I get motion sickness and I told him and he made sure he was driving slow on the curves he kept asking me if I was okay. Basically Travis deserves 5stars. Deff worth booking this tour and especially with TRAVIS !!!!
Great tours. I booked the Halekala Sunrise tour and the road to Hana tour with them. Both the tours were amazing. The tour guides Al and Francois were great, providing great insight into local history.
Great tour allowing a luxury trip to Haleakala and zip lining within half a day. Glenn was an informative and calm voice to drift in and out of sleep during this vacation experience.
Informative tour guide who did his best to make sure we had the best experience possible. Thank you Carlos for helping me and my family scratch off a few things from our bucket lists
We had the best time ever! The guides (Adam? and Andre, or just Dre), were knowledgeable, helpful, hilarious and friendly. They knew a lot about the history of the island and talked about it along the way. They ensured safety and made sure everyone had a blast. My group of 10 people absolutely LOVED it!
The Haleakalā sunrise tour starts you pretty early, but no worries - the drivers advise you to sleep on the bus while they make the trek up the mountain. The road is windy, so if you have any car sickness, be sure to eat the ginger treats they have. The sunrise was beautiful. Our guide, Bruce, was sure to get us there about 40min early to get a front row spot on the rail. After the sun rose, Bruce took us to TWO more lookout points and the Haleakalā state park sign for pictures. Afterwards, we settled on a hearty breakfast at the Kula Lodge that had more views of Maui. We were dropped back off early at our hotels by 11am.Overall, GREAT day with clear views of the sunrise and the floating clouds all around you. Definitely recommend while in Maui!
Long day... People running the show ere great, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, good people. Guys running the zip line were hilarious.
We had the best guides! Chris, Keene(sorry about spelling) and Uncle George. They were very safe, and very entertaining. Im scared of heights and they made me feel comfortable. ❤ They were awesome with my children as well. Cant say enough good things about them.
Great fun and value. You feel safe and secure! The zip line gets more and more exciting. I like the fact that they make a donation to help preserve island ecology. Cheers!
We recently went on an Eco-Adventures Zipline and loved it. Our guides, Chris and Katrina, made the experience great. They were very friendly and easy going while taking safety precautions. The views from the different lines were amazing. It also felt amazing to be flying through the air!
Great team guided us, Preston and Johnny. Made it a lot of fun. Zips are good, not too harsh, beautiful setting. Recommend for families, (great for kids on young side, call them about weight and age restrictions, there was some confusing info on their website and our youngest daughter -- 9 -- missed out, she would have done fine)
Had a great time with Bobo and Colin as out guides. so much fun. both guides made the adventure an even better experience. the 8 zip lines got better after as we moved along. each one better and longer then the next. its a must try.
Great tours. And even better drivers.
