Excellent friendly service! Rented a car last minute because their competitor failed to have a car ready for me. I will definitely use Avis again.

Worst place to rent a car. Returned the car two hours late on a Sunday when they were closed and NOBODY was waiting on the vehicle and they believed that charging me $145.70 was the proper way to handle it. They said it was for a full next day rental and insurance, however they only charged me $239.32 for the previous 3 days rental and insurance combined. I am not good with the new math but I believe that comes out to about $79.78 per day NOT $145.70. I told this business savvy gentleman I would never rent from him again and he said that was fine. With my mother living in Joplin and my Father living in NE Missouri, I make that 5-6 hour trip regularly and always rent a car to do it. He may want to check his math before he says its fine that I dont rent from them. It may have cost me $145.70 to learn never to rent from Avis again but I promise it will cost them much much more in future revenue. Spend that $145.70 in good health moron, that will be the last penny you get from me.

It wasnt bad. The lady was nice just not really talkative. The only reason for the 4 star is because the vehicle I got (was supposed to be a sedan) ended up being a jeep compass and it is dirty. Bug guts and grime all over it. It was wet too like they attempted to wash it. We havent had rain in a while.

Very good company for helping out people who are not licensed but have a person. with whom is licensed to drive long as the renters Id say non driving plus banking card is in their name most call headquarters to set up paperwork for the avis your rental issued

Avis is one of the worst companys Ive had the displeasure renting from. We rented an SUV to take on our vacation to Utah and Arizona (we live in Missouri, so roughly 1,200 miles one way). When we were given the vehicle it had 3 bald tires and the 4th had little tread life left. We didnt feel safe driving with those tires, so we called the original store we rented from, roadside assistance, other avis locations in order to receive some help for 4 days straight!When we expressed our concerns, we were met with the associates cursing at us, hanging up on calls, getting told well I dont know what you expect us to do, etc. We had to replace the tires just so we could get home. the auto technicians that replaces the tires stated the tires werent even road legal and the car was really out of alignment! They said 1 rock and we wouldve gone off the road!!Management ignored us and corporates solution to the problem was to offer us the generous gift of $38 for the refund, after telling my husband we should just drop it. Im glad to know their incompetence and the possibility of 3 people dying is only worth $38.Avis mission statement: We will ensure a stress-free car rental experience by providing superior services that cater to our customers individual needs... always conveying the We Try Harder® spirit with knowledge, caring and a passion for excellence.They literally did the exact opposite and couldnt care less about their customers well-being or safety.

The woman behind the counter was very rude and snotty, ended up not renting from these guys. If you are interested in renting a car I recommend Enterprise, they were much more professional and polite.

Horrible experience! Booked and paid online, went to pick up car and had to do credit check, was told I didnt pass the credit check and it would be 5-7 days before I would get a refund. That was 2 weeks ago, have called 4 times and still no credit bad to my account. Went the same day to Enterprise and rented with no problems! Would not recommend Avis on 7th St . Or any other Avis location!!!

Horrible experience. High mileage cars with roadside that left us sitting in the middle of nowhere for over 8 hours. Then when we complain to Avis am told the location we rented (Joplin,Mo) the car from was not part of worldwide Avis so they couldnt help!

Horrible experience. We rented a mini van for a cross country trip. The FIRST van I picked up smelled horrible, it was filthy inside, the tires were out of balance so it shook going down the highway, and the door striping was coming off so it was flapping in the wind. When I got home, which is 45 mins away I noticed the drivers rear tire was bald. I called the store and they told me to bring it back but make sure I fill it up with gas. I called corporate and they told me not to fill it up. I started a case with them, they say that it was unacceptable that they let the van leave the lot like that. When I picked up the second van it had a smell to it also, but not near as bad. The tires had lots of tread but the van shook like crazy as well. The power steering sounded horrible and the whole van rattled. The AC also only worked part of the time and it made a horrible noise as well and it was filthy inside as well. The good news is we made it home without breaking down. We normally rent from Enterprise and from now on will only rent from Enterprise.

Melinda is the best!!! I work for another AVIS in Hollister, Missouri. She has always been so helpful and left her phone line opened for any questions i had (nicest person you could ever meet). She has helped me so much over the last few years. Thanks for your 26 years of service to AVIS. I know I will miss our conversations!

Easy in and out. Friendly employees. Great vehicles. No problems.

The woman in the office is the rudest person and a liar! The car we got was filthy and smelled horrible. They do not keep up on maintenance and when the car broke down on us we had to pay for towing and all repairs upfront. The only reason I agreed to that at all is my husbands grandfather was dying of lung cancer & wanted to see him before he passed. They said they would reimburse us when we returned the car. They did not and said it was our responsibility to fix their junk car with bald tires! If you have any issues on the weekend and after hours, you are out of luck! Beware!

Great place to rent a car

Not a lot of cars around during this pandemic so if truck or van they mostly have those.

So far so good. I made it to my destination. The car is very clean and style was very nice. I usually use Enterprise, but they did not have any vehicles. I will consider AVIS in the future!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKED PEOPLE! requested s car and got a competely different vehicle and did not get any money off for the vehicle. Renters beware and the manager is very rude and hateful!

The only place I will rent. We rent several times a year for vacation travel or when we just have to put one of our cars in the shop. Always helpful and friendly with a good price for unlimited miles.

It cost us $200 for a less than 24hr car rental. I will say our staff was very nice and helpful. In the future I will probably choose another company due to the high price. That was with booking a week and half in advance. My reservation started out at $150.

Ive been using Avis for at least four years now. The agent has ALWAYS been pleasant with me and answered questions with no issues. The cars are always decent and reliable.

Too much money

Quick and easy! I was in and out within 5 minutes. (Having a reservation helps) They beat Enterprise by $50 this time.

Vehicle rental experience was great but on 2 times I have rented from them the customer service person Melinda at the desk has been very rude both times. This last time more so the case. I tried to ask a question and she became belligerent.

The two times Ive needed a car, this location has had the lowest rates in Joplin. I didnt have a bad experience either time.

Dont bother to call cause the woman is rude.. cant ask questions.. May interrupt her being on her cellphone.. Go to another company.. This agent sucks..

Counter lady Melinda, has very very very poor customer service, and the service agent is so lazy, cars are always dirty inside and out. Ill never do business with them again, I think HQ needs to check them out more, Im surprised theyre still in business.

Reserved & prepaid online, upon picking up the car I was then told that they do credit check & could not pick up vehicle becus of my credit, so i offered to pay the full amount up front becus i needed the vehicle for an urgent event that day, and was told becus i prepaid i was not able to. & the money takes 3-5 days to deposit bak into account. Called my bank to have them speed up the process & was told that AVIS didnt even refund it yet. Never going back to this location, they should be honest to their customers before we are scheduled to pick up, on how much we will be paying & that theres a frkn CREDIT CHECK upon pick up & will not be able to pay cash. This caused me to miss a very important event !!!!

Make sure you check your car over well take pictures of all previous damage cause they will try and charge you for it and the Manger at the one on 7th St. That lady need to learn some customer service skills

Paid online, and reserved a car. Got there to pick it up and since I did not have a major credit card on me, only my debit card, I could not pick it up. Could not pay in cash. Very bad experience. Going to enterprise.
