I hired Lockwood Furnace after having several technicians come to the house to provide free estimates. I honestly expected a lower quality of product, and customer service, when the price quoted is almost $1k lower then the nearest competitors quote for similar equipment/ services. I was pleasantly surprised!Not only did I save on the cost, but Lockwood also spent the time to walk me through the financing process, contacted me prior to the installation to walk me through what to expect, and followed up after to ensure I didn’t have any questions or experiencing any issues.I would never wish the headache associated with furnace/AC repair or replacement on anyone, I would strongly recommend Lockwood to anyone finding themselves in need of an affordable, quality, and honest furnace/ AC technician.

My story starts with needing a AC / Furnace install, big job that required running new lines, everything new. I call the 2 big players in Joliet Lockwood being one of the 2, I also called a 3rd union company here in Joliet wanting quotes from all three.. Lockwood sends Bob, he runs the show over there for the owner.. I get my 3 quotes and ya, like I figured Lockwood blew everyone out of the water with a very aggressive quote! I than stopped by there office in Joliet and spoke to Nina who helped me get my quote finalized, and get me set up on the calendar for a date and time for the install...One big problem, the weather was in the 90s, and with my job being such a large job, a 3 day install, I was looking at almost a month out, all of the HVAC Companies at this time of year are flooded with calls, and backed up big time.. But Nina, with her compassion told me she would try??... She had compassion for my situation, because I had no AC. I exchanged emails with her at the office, and she stayed in touch with me to keep me positive, and informed... Nina pulled a trick out from under the table, boom, she emails me.. I switched a few things up, your up next, can we please come Monday!!!.... Than Monday comes, and in walks Andy a company employee of about 20 Years... This guy is amazing, his helper even told me off to the side Andy is amazing, he is like magic... How right he was.. Andy was personable, hardworking, focused and engaged at the task at hand...I was following Andy and his helper around allot just to watch, and learn a few things. What I liked most about Andy was he did not cut any corners, he does it like Lockwood expects, the right way, no cutting any corners, no shortcuts period...If your in the Will County area, down by Joliet this is a must quote to get.. CALL, Ask for Nina, she will get you set up, she will get Bob out there to meet with you. Bob is cool, a knowledgeable professional, he wont say a real lot, but just point a few things out, he has been doing this a long time, over 20 years, so his quotes are short and sweet.. he just looks, and he knows!.. Bob emailed me my quote in a day, one of the other companies I quoted never got back to me?, so I complained and told them they made a big mistake, my Job was big, BIG bucks...I live in a big condo complex of about 240 neighbors of mine... Any chance that I get, I will be praising Lockwood Furnace Company to all my neighbors...They exceeded my expectations big time .. One final point that I want to make, and its probably the most important, and best part of my experience, was the fact that not only did Bobs quote blow the other 2 companies out of the water, but his quote all came with Trane Equipment, Trane is the best you can buy, cant get any better... I moved into my house 6 years ago and they had this company install a hot water heater prior to this and their name was on the thermostat, hot water heater, AC, and heater. Our hot water heater went out without any warnings. I called them for a service call and they came the same day. Unfortunately for me the hot water tank needed to be replaced. My technician Matt came out and advised us on our options. We chose to have it replaced. He was able to get this done in the same day. He was so customer friendly and was knowledgeable on my older system. He went up and above to finalize the process in just one day. They were very respectful to the social distancing and did not make any mess. I will recommend this company and Matt to all my family and friends. This is a very reputable company for anyone who is looking to get any work done. I will be a returning customer when I need something.

My family has used Lockwood since we bought our first home in 2007. Lockwood has always been professional, on time, knowledgeable, and most of all, high quality. Over the years they have really kept our furnace and A/C systems in tip-top shape, with excellent office staff. We just installed a new furnace and hot water heater at our current home, and from the initial estimate of services through installation Lockwood was realistic about install times, talked with us about our options, stuck by their original estimates, and the work included a lot of re-routing pipes, sheet metal fabrication, and more. I really cant say enough about them. They have never disappointed us - their employees seem to stay with the company a long time. The estimator had 40 years, the install guy had been with the company for 14 years. This is a sign not only of a business who knows their job, they seem to treat their employees right, too.

Was there for 10mins did literally no work... theyve been to my house before for the exact same thing everytime why would I pay for a home visit for you to come out and look at your own work the problem basically fixed its self before he got there and still charged me a $100 just to tell me my furnace has a short life thanks for nothing will not be using them again and do not recommend

Showed up on time. The attention to detail was great. Replaced furnace, humidifier, and filter. Also cleaned out blocked pipe to roof from nesting material and replaced cap on roof so it wont happen again. When you see the professional job they do you feel like it was money well spent, and at a good price too.

Yesterday I had Lockwood Furnace Company come to my house and do seasonal maintenance on my two furnaces. Yes, I have two furnaces. One serves the downstairs unit that I own and in which I live. The other furnace serves an unoccupied upstairs apartment. (The ultimate disposition of the upstairs apartment is undetermined for the present. It would require an investment in remodeling and repairs in order to bring it into rental readiness, and I would rather put that kind of money into financial investments for my approaching retirement. And once I am retired, I am not sure whether I will keep the house or sell it. So, for now, the upstairs is a small drain on my pocketbook, due to the unavoidable utilities of heating and cooling it to a minimal degree.)I bring up this level of detail to mention the highlight of the visit of the Lockwood technician to do the seasonal maintenance on the two furnaces. In order to keep my gas bills low for the upstairs, I was in a habit of keeping its thermostat set at 50°F except for the most bitter of arctic cold spells when I would raise it to a higher setting to protect the water pipes from freezing. The Lockwood technician noticed this and made it a point to mention to me that the research that he has read indicates that it is far better to make 58° the minimum for a standby furnace such as this, because a lower setting subjects the heat exchanger to dealing with condensation that forms when the furnace begins heating from such a cold setting. Now that was rather bold advice for this technician to give me, given that he barely knew me and I hadnt asked for his advice. But it so happened to be the case that this very lightly used furnace had suffered an inexplicable cracked heat exchanger which wasnt cheap to repair just around a year ago. All of a sudden the light bulb went on in my brain and I realized that I had probably contributed in my furnace ignorance to that heat exchanger breakdown. So I actually really appreciated this Lockwood guy being confident and knowledgeable enough to give me news that I didnt want to hear. So after he left I adjusted the constant setting for the upstairs unit from 50° to 56° and my away and nighttime setting on my downstairs furnace from 52° to 56°. ( Okay, I chose 56° instead of 58°. Call me cheap but I dont like giving more to the gas utility than I absolutely have to. )So, another good reason to use Lockwood for your HVAC needs is that they are experienced, knowledgeable and concerned enough to tell you what you need to hear, when they perceive that what they know can help you.So I continue to be a Lockwood Furnace customer and am happy to share why.

I was very pleased with the final product and workmanship. The guys made sure every aspect of the job was done properly. They even mounted the outside AC unit to the foundation. It was previously on a thin cement pad. They reviewed the filtration and humidifier with me. Discussed the manuals, warranty and new thermostat. I even got a list of names of all the workers, in case of any future questions.Additionally they did a nice job cleaning up the work area and removing the old equipment.This is the second job i have used them on within a year. I had them do my rental house as well as my primary residence. I highly recommend them on price, equipment selection and honesty.

They are good for furnace and AC cleaning. But when I had a technician install a Smart thermostat he was disrespectful and cut a wire to my humidifier. Im good with electricity so I was able to figure out why the humidifier was not working. But Im sure they would over charge me if I called them to fix it.

Had three other quotes and Lockwood blew them out by nearly $800 on the same exact unit or comparable units. Lockwood installed the original furnace when the home was built (before my ownership) and it’s a Trane so they’re built to last. Can’t go wrong with Trane and liked the fact Lockwood is local and employ hardworking techs who were very professional and personable. All other companies I called sent “comfort consultants” which is just a fancy way of saying a HVAC salesman and not a tech. Bob knows his stuff and there was no hard-sell like the other places calling me day after day. If you’re in the Joliet area you shouldn’t be calling anyone else but Lockwood!

As a loyal, 20 customer of Lockwood Furnance, I feel the $96 service charge of 8.13.20 should be refunded to us.1. On 7.20.20 Lockwood performed an AC service checkup which per your phone rep is essentially a cleaning.2. On 8.13 I called due to water leaking under the furnance. Your tech poured a little water in the A/C drain tubing, remove it, blew with his mouth and used a screw driver to remove a little debris. No parts were required.3. During the 7.20 visit I did not see the rep remove and/or otherwise clean the drain tubing.4. Since I paid for a CLEANING on 7.20, I do not feel charging a 2nd $96 service fee for a truncated version of CLEANING is legitimate. Especially only 2 weeks after your 1st visit AND, the 2nd service call required no parts and was unilaterally covered your 1st CLEANING visit.5. Lockwood was able to get the capacitor I needed after a few hours but told me there was no return or warranty offered after purchase. At $35 for a made in China Titan Pro, the price was also on the high side but they were local and I had 3 dogs at home that were already panting and a wife that was potentially coming home from work in a few hours to a hot house. When I went to pickup, I asked if I could test it with my ohm meter before purchase since there is no return and one of the ladies at the desk got up and rather rudely told me no and grabbed the box out of my hand and said you see its new in a box?. My thought was, come on, you havent dealt with any new DOA parts at all? Really? Also, how about a little respect to customers and your elders? Yes, at the end of the day, Lockwood was able to get me the capacitor I needed for my 5 ton unit and it did resolve the problem so both the dogs and the wife came home to a cool home but the ladys nasty attitude and customer service brings the rating down. If youre not going to offer any warrant or return policy at all, then maybe test it in front of customer to show its good upon sale. At least that removes the seller, in this case Lockwood Furnace Co. from being accused of selling DOA parts which is a reputation no business wants. Grainger in Downers Grove was originally my first choice and had better prices matching online stores like Amazon but couldnt get one in until the next day. To avoid this situation in future, I just order the same Titan Pro capacitor as a spare online at nearly half the price.

On a Saturday morning in late February 2020 the furnace went out at our rental property. We called Lockwood because their website said open 24/7, Trane dealer, services Chicagoland area .The repairman said its $144.00 to come out. We said please come out because our tenants needed heat as it was going to be in the 20s that night. He did come, but said he didnt have parts and could not get them. He told our tenants to get portable heaters until Monday when he could come back. We called someone else who knows about HVAC for help. He called Munchs Supply and paid $150.00 for them to open doors on a Saturday. He got parts, fixed the furnace and our tenants had heat within 2 hours. Open 24/7 to do a drive by and collect $144.00 is unacceptable. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND LOCKWOOD.
