Our LG refrigerator/freezer broke down. In speaking with an LG representative we determined it was most likely the compressor that needed to be replaced. LG did not have any service technicians available to come repair our refrigerator so they offered a third party repair service, A & E Factory Service (a/k/a Sears Appliance Repair). Sarah Johnson was the service technician that came to our house. She went above and beyond, replaced the compressor, did multiple tests to make sure there were no leaks and that everything was running properly, put the refrigerator back in place and cleaned up before she left. Sarah was very professional and knowledgeable. She took the time to keep us updated on her process. She helped navigate the billing process between LG and her company. It was a very good experience and I would highly recommend this company’s service.
Technicians were polite and knowledgeable. They inquired about any other appliance issues I may have while here.Both donned masks and foot covers. They quickly found and fixed the problem with our 7 year old Kenmore water softener.Billing was over the phone on original call and I later signed off on the fix on their portable terminal. Later, a credit-card receipt and service-record were on my e-mail account. Well done.
First off, I am not one to complain. I got an email asking for a review, so I a giving them a review. We purchased the Sears Protection Plan for $259.99 when we bought the washer. It covers an annual preventive maintenance check. We were told this includes cleaning the washer, oiling anything that needs to be, etc. The service provider Sears hired did not show up on the day listed. The phone number they provided is permanently on busy. I called several days, and just about every hour, and it was always busy. In contacting Sears Protection via phone and their chat feature, they all said they had to escalate the situation. I was assured someone would call me within 24-48 hours. I did this 4 separate times. I have received ZERO phone calls. 8 days after the initial appointment I received a phone call that morning that they would be there for service in 20 minutes. This was not scheduled or planned, but I was home so told them to come one by. I was teaching a class at the time (remotely), so my wife let them in and showed them the washer. They turned on a cycle, listened and watched for about 2 minutes, and said everything looks good. My wife asked if thy would be cleaning the inside. The service provider said just throw in some washer cleaner and they left. They were there for maybe a total of 3 minutes. I again contacted Sears Protection. They again said they would escalate the situation and I would hear from someone within 24-48 hours. It is now a week later and I have heard from no one. IF, and I emphasize IF they called while I was working, no one has left any message via email or phone. I would NOT EVER recommend using Sears.
Replaced Ice Maker. Am not satisfied maker is not working properly. Will need to call again, paid large amount of money for service not to be working right.It took a month to get the part & reinstall. Wil try not to use this again if I can . Have never paid such a huge service fee for any other repair I have had done. After getting this straightened out I will never use Sears AGAIN

Mike from M.D. Appliance did an excellent job on my dryer. He was very thorough and informative. He followed Safety guidelines for Covid 19 also. I would rate him a 10 if you went that high. Would like him to service appliance again when needed.
Repairman was extremely competent - did not waste time and the repair was very good. He was also courteous and kept to the Covid guidelines of mask and distance.
Each technician arrived on time and were pleasant. Unfortunately it took 4 visits to get our washer fixed correctly. FYI...if you have an LG washer and dryer don’t do the suggested checks in the their app. It caused me more trouble in the long run.
Service mans diagnosis of bad main board was incorrect. The problem worked out to be door latching switch mechanism. I know this to be true because I made the repair and have been using washer. Also the estimated main board part mark up was quoted at 4X the available retail cost.
The repair tech who visited my home with prompt and professional. He explained the repair. My only nit is the parts and labor cost. A replacement ice maker should not cost half the price I paid for my refrigerator. I will price shop other appliance repair services in the future.

He fixed my known problem and also discovered another issue I was not aware of and was able to repair that as well. He was very knowledgeable of the issues and even gave me some tips on using the dishwasher and on cleaning it. Very happy customer and serviceman was great.
Repair person called ahead prior to arrival. Repair person assessed the issue, provided the pricing for the repairs. The repair person replaced the parts, and saved the damaged parts for my inspection. Completed repair and cleaned the work area. Dryer works like new. A technician from Sears came via our home warranty company to repair our oven on 3/14/20. I stayed present the entire time minus a few minutes to use the restroom. In that time this tech went into my pantry & filled his pockets with my kids snacks. Schools are closing here in IL for the next 2-4 weeks so everyone is trying to stock up best they can. For him to come into a clients home & steal is absolutely unacceptable. The lowest form of unprofessionalism. I have footage of him in the act on my home cameras. He hurried out of my house so fast that my husband & I werent able to confront him. I have contacted Sears & file a complaint. I expect to be contacted & action to be taken or they will never be rid of me.
My 9 year old washer stopped working one day. I called Sears Service and the service man came out within 2 days. A diagnosis was made and a part was shipped. The service man came back and installed the part. The washer still didnt work. The service man did more testing of the machine and was unable to find the reason for the non functioning washer. The service man came back a few days later and spent an hour with the machine and a tech on the phone testing and testing and testing until Eureka! the problem was diagnosed. The correct part was shipped at no further charge to me and a different serviceman came out and installed the part and my washer works fine again. Other than the fact that this took 2 weeks which is really no ones fault I am very pleased with the service and the 2 different service men that came out. They were efficient, polite, equipped, capable and successful in fixing my washing machine. I simply wish it had been a quicker fix...but then dont we all in this hurry workaday world. I highly recommend Sears service for your appliance repairs.
Our technician did an awesome job keeping us posted on his arrival, he was thorough, he was patient and he kept the kitchen area clean when he left. He was wonderful and the process was so easy I will use Sears again!
The mechanical engineer called Randell did excellent work to fix my refrigerator. Randell was on time for the appointment and did his work quickly and correctly. Everyone at Sears should study Randells methodology for doing a great job. Jose Sandoval
You would have gotten 5 stars if the technician had arrived during the window period of 8 a.m. through 1 p.m. The technician arrived at 2:30. He was very efficient and quick for my annual service. I had no problems with his service.But I can only assume that you need to hire more technicians to meet your promises, Sears.

The initial person they sent out was completely incompetent. At first he told us there was nothing wrong despite our freezer being 35 degrees. He then diagnosed it as a bad compressor and quoted us over $600 to fix it. This put buying a new fridge on the table and made it a tough decision. We decided to go ahead with the repair, which we had to schedule 10 days out in order to get the parts. Well, when the parts arrived and the second guy came he took a look and told us it was not the compressor, but just a switch. He was able to fix this immediately and for much cheaper. We were glad he figured this out. We almost bought a new fridge! We could not believe the first individual was so incompetent.
The technician was perfect. The problem was setting up the appointment. The lady argued with me about what type of appliance I owned. Then the appointment time they gave me was useless because the technician came at a completely different time.

I feel like the service was great, the repairman was friendly and efficient, however, the time for the part to be shipped I feel was too long. My fridge went out on a Monday and was not fixed until the following Friday, which means we werent back in business until Saturday. 12 days without the fridge is quite a long time, thankfully we did have a second fridge especially with the summer heat.I dont understand why parts arent available sooner or your repairmen dont have them on the truck.
I was charged a $59 service appt fee plus an additional $15 for him to just tell me that the pipe needed to be replaced. They actually had a code in their system for them to just inform me. It was not labor fee or anything. I thought the $59 service fee included a basic diagnosis and the parts and labor would be extra. Little did I know that $59 was the door ring fee and anything he spoke after that had a separate charge. And you know its not the technician at fault when they actually have a separate code in the system to inform the customer that the pipe may be bad.
Service repair man was on time, and very friendly and courteous. He was able to fix our stove in one visit, and we have had no problems.
I have been trying to get my repair finished for 6 weeks and they have rescheduled me for another week out. we use the system in our business and need it on a daily basis. My first appointment took a week to get, repair man ordered parts and said another week, i called and they said thee was no record of his visit or an order. ordered again. scheduled after parts came in (10 days) he came installed said part and said dont use it it needs another part. we wait again... repairman comes again and said nothing I have no idea if he did anything and leaves with the parts.......They cant confirm anything was done. I am now scheduled out another week to have someone come back??? This is ridiculous. when I call I am on hold for minimum of 40 min everytime!!!! Can I give a negative rating?
The service tech put the new part in and left, I went to run a load of laundry and shot the error code again- this is the 6th time we have had this repaired, it is time you replace it with a new washer, obviously, it has major issues that your technicians cannot fix. Again, Saturady we will be waiting for another repairman to come out and say they fixed it...........ridiculous.........this should not be happening on a 2 and 1/2 year old washer.........disgusted- tired of it working for a couple months than it shoots an error code.
We had two different repairmen on different days to fix our issue and they were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable! The fixed our issue quickly and I would highly recommend them :)
I was pleased with the mechanic who serviced my Maytag washer and dryer. For example: He vacuumed the dryer when it was not necessary. I believed it did help the dryer. It was good that he would go the extra mile. He also recommended a solution to the bleach and softener gumming up.

Terrible service. The first time we were scheduled from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Waited and waited. No tech showed up. Called at 6:15 pm and was told that they had failed to assign a tech. Took more than a week but $370 later had a fixed washer. If you really need a repair.... call someone else.
I have had three or four previous service visits on my 1-year old Kenmore refrigerator. Not one repairman was able to fix the problems. I was so frustrated with both the refrigerator and the service that I briefly thought about dragging the darn thing out to the curb. Apparently Sears saved the best for last. This last technician was a genius! He knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He had it diagnosed and repaired in about 15 minutes. It has been working better than new ever since. He was professional, experienced, and very pleasant to deal with!! Thank You!!!!!
Repair Serviceman was thorough with my repair and familiar with my riding lawnmower b/c he had worked on it before (2 yrs). Overall, Im satisfied with the repair, mower and the serviceman.
The appointment was scheduled between 8-12. They did not show up until almost 1. My husband waited all morning and then at 12:45 went outside. The repair man called when he was in our driveway at 12:55 and of course my husband didnt hear him until he heard someone yell as the repair man knew someone was home as garage was open. It would have been nice to receive a phone call that he was running late and to give us some time window he might be there.
The service technician was great, but he was late for the appointment time and no one called to let me know he would be late. When I called to 800 service center, they lied to me about why he was late, then told that there was nothing I could do bout it. If I had another choice in repair places for our brand, I would choose them.
The service person came to fix my dryer because it did not heat up and dry the clothes. He worked on the dryer about 20 minutes and it seemed to work fine. one week and a half later, the dryer does not work again. It still does not heat up and dry my clothes. Bottom line its the same problem that was not fixed the first time. I took time off work so that I could be home during the 4 hour window. Now I have to take time off work again for the same repair. Very unsatisfied.

The repairman was fine. Im unhappy that I was specific in my online repair order, providing the serial number to my appliance and was VERY clear as to what needed to be fixed. Its unfair that I was being charged $99 for him to tell me he cant get the part. Couldnt the service dept tell me that without sending someone out? He said I may be able to get the part online myself. I asked if I did and they came out to repair it, would I be charged another $99. He didnt know.
The worst ever! Monday your man came out to inspect and verify warranty of water heater. He called in approval for warranty replacement. Your service called me to let me know they could not replace our 65 gallon unit and wed have to take a 50 gallon unit. They said a repair serviceman could be out on Wednesday to install a new water heater. By Tuesday late afternoon we did not have an install time, so we called back to learn that you were having problems finding someone to come out to install the unit. Wednesday you called to say we would have to find someone on our own to do the install and the earliest you could home deliver our replacement water heater is on the following Wednesday. So here we are nearly a week into this, with no hot water and having to wait another 5 days till we get the water heater, then I can schedule someone else to do the install. Then, if it cost more than you are willing to pay for the install, Ill have to battle you for reimbursement. This is totally unacceptable!

The tech was prompt to arrive. However his diagnosis of my refrigerator was wrong. Called out another service and they came and fixed it forJust about the same price as sears charged me just for showing up. A total waist of time and my money.
He was able to rest the mother board on my dishwasher and I was able to run a load, however it was not a complete fix as it stopped working now and have to have him come back out.
The repairman looked and found that the refrigerant was R-12 and said we dont do that and closed his box, took $89 and left. He did not check coolant to even see if that was the problem. Just opened the door, closed the door and left.

My appointment time slot was from 1-5 -of course, the repair man came at 4:30. Total waste of the day. All he did was suggest that I reset the breaker, and the unit turned on. Unbelievable, and yet he needed to get the $79 bucks for the visit. I think thats what he really wanted. I was disappointed, to say the least. I will think twice about calling Sears, again.
Not happy with repairman. I had two repair items, he picked the one he waneed and left the other without repair.Then harassed me for not maintaining a minor repair.I tried to explain that I had back surgery and could not maintain the item but he was sure to mention it 4 or 5 times before he left.Repairman may have had a language barrier, he seem to be Asian. But he was harassing and rood. Will never allow in home, he is lucky I paid him.
We have been without this ELITE, Top of the line, dishwasher operating for 3 weeks now! The repairman has been here twice and replaced parts to no avail! The repairman needs to stay until he has verified that its fixed not leave a few minutes after he replaces a part! Either fix it or replace it!
This is my final check up and I was happy with the service. In the past they did vacuum the back of the fridge but this time they skipped doing that!?

If I could give a -5 that would be closer to the truth on the service I received from this company. I called on a Wednesday August 15th to set up a service all on my Kitchen Aide refrigerator. I was told the appointment would be on the following Monday August 20 between 8-5. I was out of town at the time so I rearranged my schedule to return a day earlier only to find that they rescheduled my appointment to Tuesday August 21 and then said their system cancelled it and they could not reschedule until August 27. I received no notice of this until I called them to find out what time the tech would actually be here. The phone calls are answered in the Phillapines and all they do is repeat back to you what you say. They could care less about customer service or service at all here in the United States. I spoke to several supervisors who promised to obtain a quicker appointment due to their error and said they were sending me a 20% off certificate for the service, said it was sent 3 times, however I never did receive it. Broken promise after broken promise. No wonder Sears is going out of business. So sad that an old company like this, that has been around since the Wells Fargo days has put themselves out of business because of less than basic service people and customer service quality. I will find a more reputable, quality service company with people who care about their customers. Quality and Integrity, people who care about their customers and offer service after the sale. Sears Home Services offers non of these. Very, very disappointed, unsatisified and unhappy with the quality of service and quality of customer service offered by this pathetic company. Before restudying the instruction manual, we had become highly disappointed with the icemaking performance of our Kenmore side by side refrigerator purchased in 2015. It had totally stopped making ice before I reset the freezer temperature to 0 degrees per the instruction manual. The repairman had wrongly set freezer temp to -2 degrees on one visit after it stopped working again after installation of a new part. He was correct about the 37 degrees for the refrigerator side.Lesson learned is to stick with all suggestions in the manufacturers manual.
The technician left the ice maker panel loose and left a burnt out bulb without replacing it. I spent over $200 and they dont come prepared with a bulb? This is unacceptable. I expected better from Sears!

Horrible nightmare. Sears has been out to my home on 4 (four) separate occasions and 2 (two) have been to order parts and yet my high end Electrolux refrigerator still isnt working. I have no ice or water from inside or outside frig. and ice maker from inside is still frozen with ice around it. This has been the worst service from Sears that I have EVER experienced. This has been going on since Sept. 2016 and its NOW Nov. 2016 and Im still waiting.👎🏿

Poor communication: not informed that repair people are SUBCONTRACTORS with NO Sears identification in hand or by vehicle- they call ahead from random numbers that don’t identity them from Sears- if you don’t receive call they are likely Not to show up ; because Sears won’t pay them if customer is not available- adjustments on appliances that should have been done on 1st @ second check ups were Just now identified (balancing of DW & frig door)Wasn’t informed @ time of appt. that more than 1 person would come for 4 appliances on the same day!Tell customers WHAT to expect!!!!
