The hospitality was expected as with many dealerships I have done business with over the years. What took me by surprise and quite honestly impressed me was, when my truck was finished, I walked outside & walked my vehicle. Not only was it crisp clean the way bought it in but, the tires that were rotated were also clean. Not a fingerprint (have had much worse happen before at dealerships) on them. I then sat inside well, the paper on the floor is pretty standard but, plastic over the steering wheel and several coupons hanging from my rear view mirror!! Made me feel like I was appreciated and they value my return business. Little things like this is what makes the difference.I purchased my truck in Kingsport, as we are new to Tennessee and wasnt aware of a closer GMC dealership to us. Ill continue to have my vehicle serviced here.Thanks a bunch. Ill definitely recommend your dealership for service and, for that matter, for sales also 👍👍👍.
My husband and I had a wonderful buying experience at Chaparral. Wesley was our sales person and Scott was the finance manager. Both gentlemen were wonderful to deal with, as was the finance rep who completed our paperwork. The only reason I am not giving them 4 or 5 stars is due to the misrepresentation of the diesel fill up and detailing that was promised. We got to the dealership late and was not planning to trade that evening. However, we found the perfect truck and it just worked out. The fuel was low the entire time we test drove the truck and they were preparing to close as we were leaving. My husband signed a few papers and we were coming back the following evening to finish signing the finance paperwork. Wes asked us if we “cared to go ahead fill the truck up, bring him the receipt the next evening, and he would get us reimbursed”. So that is what we did. It was $75 for the diesel and $25 for the DEF additive. We brought the receipts and gave them to Wes prior to signing the finance paperwork. The finance manager was off and Wes told us he would get us a check for that the following day. When we spoke to Wes the next day he was “only giving us $25 for the gas receipt since we filled the truck up after we finalized the deal”, which was all wrong. Again, we clarified what we were told the prior day, that the receipts were dated the day before we signed the final paperwork, and the fuel was $75 not $25. I could have “ate” the reimbursement for the DEF additive. I know it seems small but I am a huge stickler for “meaning what you say and doing what you promise”. We love the truck, we are still super impressed with the ease of everything from the time we walked onto the lot thru signing the final paperwork. It is disappointing that we did not get the fuel fill up or truck detailing and I am still waiting to see if they follow thru on the “two service vouchers for maintenance (oil change for the diesel truck). To be honest, I was so frustrated after the phone call with Wes about the fuel receipts I told him to keep the $25 that I didn’t want it. Idk if my husband will drive back up there to get the $25 check and maintenance vouchers or not but I don’t plan on driving 60 miles there and back for it.
No auto dealership has ever impressed us as Chaparral did. The staff there were very caring and eager to help when they heard about my cause--I had been raising funds to buy a vehicle for an elderly person in my community whose car was very old, in disrepair and no longer running. They had a REALLY nice clean 04 Escape that I was able to purchase within the price range of funds we had available that met all of the needs on my list.The vehicle was unbelievably nice and the recipient was thrilled to get it!Friendly staff, nice vehicles, great prices! Absolutely the best car buying experience weve ever had. From the second I contacted Piper I was treated like theyd known me for 20 years. I explained that I would be traveling to Texas soon for my wife to begin cancer treatments, she worked out every detail for us to actually pick up the Yukon on our way through Tennessee. Upon arrival she introduced me to Jessica who assisted us with paperwork. We felt like they rolled out the red carpet for my wife and I. Since then they have not only kept in contact to assure that we are pleased with the vehicle but more importantly to check on my wifes well being. We had stopped a few weeks ago just to look around and I remembered Jessica greeting us but giving us our space [which we GREATLY appreciated!]. This past Saturday we came back and I jumped at the chance to speak to Jessica again as we were ready to seriously look. Within minutes she had us looking at my husbands dream truck and today we brought it home. She was amazing to work with and we will definitely be back to work with her again when its time for a new to us vehicle in the future. Highly recommend!
Don’t waste your time!! This place is a joke! We were out looking at cars and one of there “salesman” came up to us with a lit cigarette and a stained shirt and was very unprofessional so we immediately left but my fiancée really like the vehicle so we decided to give them a second chance and gave them a call, they never even called us back! So we showed back up and asked if there was any negotiation with that specific vehicle if we pay in cash and they tell us they don’t like cash because it doesn’t make them any money so no! So we left to look at the car one more time and was gone about 10 minutes when we went back the sales manager was extremely rude and said “sorry someone came in and realized how good of a deal it was so we sold it” and we were the only people there!!! Please go else where!
This is one of the worst experiences in trying to test drive a car. We will be buying a new car in the near future and currently have a GMC Acadia. We wanted to drive a newer model since we love our 2012. I drove an Acadia Denali and really liked it. There was another SLT model without the Denali package and I wanted to look at it too. The salesperson got the key and was showing us inside the car. I asked the difference, they had no clue and could not answer any of my questions. It was about 6:45pm and they close at 7pm. I wanted to drive it for a short distance to see the driving experience difference. They said I don’t think they will let you take it out now. A 5 min drive would have given me all I needed to know. Guess they didn’t want the sale or any of my business if they couldn’t wait for me to take a quick drive. I will be going to another dealership for any future GMC purchases for sure!
Very pleasant experience buying a vehicle. I experienced none of the horror stories you often hear about at other dealers (being pressured into making decisions, taking hours to negotiate a deal, etc.). My salesman was Chris Scalf, who was very professional, responsive, and easy to work with.

This was supposed to be a fun experience buying a truck. But that wasn’t the case. The sales person that I got with was very unprofessional and didn’t have a clue on what he was doing. He did not contact me at all after stating he would and said I declined the offer they gave me but that was not true. And the management did nothing about helping me back with the offer I was originally offered. So I will take my business elsewhere. Keep your word and you will sell.And if you look below this is a message a manager named Andrew sent me showing that that just lied below also saying they were in front of them calling me. They also have my email so if they could not get ahold of me it would have been professional to email me stating my number is not working for them.

I visited Chaparral last week with no intention to buy anything. I just stopped to see what they had. We walked up to the entrance and were met by Joe Browning. He asked what we were looking for. We said we were considering an SUV. We were driving a like new Ram truck.Joe suggested we look at the GMC Denali. We wanted a smaller vehicle. Joe was very knowledgeable and explained the vehicle to me. We test drove it an the story ends there. We left with a brand new Denali. If you are just looking for a vehicle, or not, stop and see Joe. You will probably leave with one. Joe and the dealership are great.

I would like to thank Fred, Andrew, and sales manager that filled out my paperwork for the experience I had of buying a new GMC truck from chaparral they save me over $2000 of what I could buy a truck in Chattanooga from the GMC dealership. It was like I knew these guysAll my lifeIn all my years of buying vehicles never had a dealership be so honest and care for me as the buying customer.Chaparral GMC is 180 miles away from my home but I would never buy another vehicle unless it was through them that’s how impressed I was and I’m not easily impressed so thank you guys I’ll never forget the experience
I contacted the dealer about a Ram 2500. Told the staff that my nephew would be by to look at the truck. I wanted him to look at it before I drove 2 hours to look at the truck. While my nephew was there looking at the truck he face time me. He had the salesman to crank the truck. As the truck sit there running it was making a very loud noise and smoked. The salesman agreed it was loud and they needed to have it looked at. I have contacted the dealership a total of 4 times to see if they have had the truck looked at because I was very interested in it. One week later they still have not had it looked at. You know what you call dealerships like this? Show and blow! I have since found out from some of the locals to be careful buying a used vehicle from this dealer.
They sold me a car that was a great deal I havent even drove the car 1500 miles and already $2000 down in repairs. The car has been in and out of the shop more than Ive drove it. I called and asked to speak someone to see if maybe we could work out something on the repairs and was told Well, you bought it as is and theres a reason why someone got rid of it This has been an absolute nightmare. Ill never buy a car from them ever again. The service guys have been very nice, but they can only do so much. The car has been towed twice already. Bought in April... When I bought the car it hadnt been serviced in 16k miles. Do not buy a car here. Please go elsewhere. I dont wish this stress on anyone. Probably gonna just cut my lose and give it away. Its that bad...

Went to the body shop for estimate on hail damage repair. They are very friendly, made me feel at ease as soon as I arrived. They were very thorough and explained how the damage would be repaired. Estimate was ready in minutes after they looked our vehicle over, and seemed like a very fair price. Will update after repairs completed.
Hands down the absolute best service I have ever had!! I will be going back in the future. Piper has not only the best attitude but goes above and beyond to help you get what you need. Chuck is great. I really enjoyed how he was able to just talk to us like we have been friends forever. They do more in ten minutes than most people do in ten days. Always come here to get my car serviced. I can easily and conveniently set an appointment online and just show up. The guys who take care of me are always nice, never met a bad one. The waiting area is comfortable, there’s a spot with a couch, they give you the WiFi password, tv in the sitting room with vending machines, and free coffee. Every experience is always painless and hassle free. I will continue to go back to get my car serviced.
Mr. Kennedy, the Warranty Manager, was super helpful and went out of his way to make sure our experience was the best! Mr. Plaster, our direct contact in the service office, did a great job of keeping us informed on the progress of the diagnostic testing and on all potential fixes that would be tried. He also helped us secure a rental car to use while our car was being looked at. Everyone at the Chaparral service office is super friendly and go out of their way take care of you and make sure youre satisfied with the service. We have a GM service dept thats closer to our house that we could use, but we prefer to travel an extra 30 minutes to Chaparral because of the great and friendly service!

Great place to purchase a used or new vehicle. I purchased a truck from them a few days ago and it was the best experience Ive ever had at a dealership. My salesman Fred V. was the best he went above and beyond to help me with my purchase. I actually had an issue getn my truck to start a couple days later, which turned out to be just a bad chip in a key I was tryn to use but he and the staff went all out to help me with the issue and we got it started. Great experience great dealership! I found a new 2021 Yukon Denali XL on their website and I live almost 1000 miles away from their location. The vehicle that I was looking for was one of only a few available across the nation with the color combinations we were looking for. I called and initially talked to Piper who was extremely nice and helpful. Piper immediately set me up with Andrew. Andrew worked very hard for my business and took care of all of our needs. He had the best price by far that I could find on that particular vehicle. I drove there the very next day once we made a deal and picked up the vehicle. Terry took care of all the paperwork in less than 20 minutes and did a great job. Once I took delivery of the vehicle Andrew set me up with Mike who actually sat down with me in the vehicle and went over every single feature of the vehicle and showed me how to use it. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and takes great pride in his work. This was a great car buying experience and I would gladly do it again.

Bought a truck it immediately had issues and turns out also the mileage on paperwork did not match odometer. They would not void the deal or help me in anyway. Do not buy a vehicle here!!!!

We had a very pleasant experience. Everyone practice social distancing and the dealer showroom was every clean. We felt very comfortable there in these times. They where knowledgeable about the car we wanted. The financial person got the papers filled out in a timely manner. We have been pleased with how easy it is to be able it to talk to someone if we have a question about something on the car. I would highly recommend this dealership if someone is i the market for a vehicle.
I took my vehicle in for an oil change and brake pads. i knew my rotors were fine as there was zero warping/vibration on braking.After being quoted $1600 to replace blown rear shocks in addition to $1200 for a full brake overhaul (rotors, pads and fluid) I called another GM dealership that is out of the area but that i have a long standing relationship with. i was quoted $1100 for the shock replacement by the out of area dealership . With a $500 difference in just the shocks, that was a red flag for me so i halted all requested service except for oil change, thankfully. at that time the service tech began spewing outlandish claims of bubbled rotors boiled brake fluid and tried to tell me my brakes were near failure and my vehicle should not be driven as it was unsafe and my brakes were near failure. I wonder if this had anything to do with seeing a car seat in the back??? He also stated that my rotors were bending when i turned my wheel full left/right causing a grinding noise. Bending rotors are definitely a new one for me.He also stated that with both of my rear air shocks blown if i did not change them my compressor would be shot soon (i agreed to this logic) but i asked to hold on this replacement.the next week I took my vehicle to an HONEST dealership (over an hour away) that i worked with when i lived in VA. After inspection by the new dealership my blown air shocks were NOT BLOWN AT ALL but the rubber boot that covers them was cracked... ZERO mechanical issues and air shock replacement was NOT needed. there is a smooth $1600 savedas for my brakes, the rotors were also deemed to be in fine working order and brake pads would be all that is needed at this time. Not sure on the exact savings but I would guess around $1000 based on the other overpriced and unnecessary services quoted.in closing i was lied to about the condition of my air shocks and brakes in hope that i would spend $2600, needlessly. I have worked with large farm machinery and vehicles in my career and the ignorant claims that were thrown at me are down right offensive. I will NEVER step foot on your property ever again and i will tell everyone i know of the tactics at play in this service department. Shamefull

This service department doesnt deserve any stars. Please spread the word about how terrible they are so other honest people like myself do not get scammed by them. Unfortunately, I did not read all of the negative reviews before I took my vehicle there. I have a 2009 GMC Acadia and have multiple issues since purchasing. I took to Chaparral because it was jerking & missing and told them it was worse when going up inclines. I also requested they call me with an estimate to fix the JERKING before doing any repairs because I may consider trading it in. Lee called me and told me the jerking was due to a failed purge valve and a stopped up catalytic converter (note: they have already replaced the catalytic converter once on this car). I was told that it would be $1300 to fix this so I agreed to fix. I paid cash and picked my car up, but DIDNT GET A MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON and the car was jerking just as before. Called the dealership and took back. They informed me that they couldnt fix the jerking without replacing the torque converter which would be another $4,000! No where during the conversation of it taking $1300 to fix my car did they mention the transmission. Im sorry, but if you dont know the difference between a transmission issue and a catalytic converter being clogged, you dont need to be repairing vehicles. I asked for them to put my old catalytic converter back on the vehicle and give me some of my money back since that was never the issue, but they refused. I spoke with the manager who was also very unhelpful. I would not be able to sleep at night if this is how I did business! Please dont use them for any of your repair needs!

Bought a used truck on a Saturday and was assured that the truck was fully inspected MULTIPLE times by their certified body shop. Test drive went well, so I didnt have reason to believe otherwise. Granted our salesman rode with us and instructed us down only backroads and we never exceeded 50 mph. The drive home my truck shook so bad I could barely keep my hand on the steering wheel and felt vibration. Took it back to Chapparal dealership on Monday, and they kept for 2 weeks. They fixed the shaking/vibration, my AC, and other electronics that werent running correctly. I was assured again that they fully inspected it and everything looks great. But the shaking continued so the next day I took it to another dealership who calls me in a couple of hours to say I need a new transmission. Now it runs great. Just not really sure what Chapparals inspections really inspect??

Parts for my warranty repair on backorder. This is not the dealerships fault.When I was told the parts were in, I made my appointment and came in, only to be told later that day that GMC changed the fix and that they no longer had the correct parts. It would have been nice to know that before having to arrange a ride to / from the dealership twice and having a day where I didnt have a vehicle, as it took them all day to figure that out.EVERY TIME I called in to see about parts being in, I was told I would receive a call back. I NEVER got a call back. Even with a post-it not sitting on the service counter with all my information, I never got a call back. I ALWAYS had to be the one calling in to see what the update was.Half a year later, I finally got the repairs done. Bringing the truck in, I was told it would be an all day repair and I would be shuttled wherever I wanted to go. Fine. This is 1st thing in the morning.Fast forward to 3pm in the afternoon, and I have heard NOTHING about the status of my repair. I call in, and am told that it will be more time. OK. Would have been nice to know in the 1st place. I sat around all day when I could have been doing things. Get shuttled back, and given a rental car.When I get to dealership, I get something out of my truck, and it is sitting in a bay, looking like NO work has been done to it!!!!!On the 2nd day, at the end of the day, Im called to be told the truck is finally ready, leaving me no time to come get the truck that day.The only saving grace, is that I asked about a better discount on my oil change and tire rotation and was given the service at no cost. This is the ONLY reason you still have me as a customer.This dealership has the WORST COMMUNICATION I have ever experienced!!!!!!I hate writing negative reviews, but having a vehicle is a pretty important thing; and knowing what is happening with your vehicle is very important for planning purposes!!!!!Everyone is real friendly, but communication needs work!!!!!
I called Chaparral on the phone they had the Truck I was looking for. I gave them my information to get the paperwork rolling. Our price negotiation went smooth we meet on a fair price for both of us. All the paper work and sales process went smooth as silk. Best car buying experience I have had to date. The staff is very friendly and helpful but my only problem is that GM should be more helpful with parts it cost 518.00 dollars for a coolant tank that is insane

We recently purchased a used truck from Chaparral. The interaction leading up to the purchase was pleasant, with Quentin being a great laid back salesman.The third day after purchase, the transmission pump went out, requiring a complete rebuild/replacement that is estimated to cost $4,200. Upon calling the dealership asking if anything could be worked out, I was met with very unprofessional conduct from Scott.During our conversation, I was reminded several times in a demeaning tone that I had signed an as-is no warranty agreement. Furthermore, I was told that if I would have used their in-house financing, a warranty would have been rolled in, but because I “had to” use a different lender with a lower rate, no warranty existed. Additionally, I was told they could do nothing because I declined any warranty at purchase, which is blatantly false. I asked to see information about their warranty programs, and was never given any information. Scott’s tone and use of words throughout our conversation was very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful.I can with 100% certainty say that I would not and will not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from this dealership, unless you can finance through them at a much higher rate, get their lender’s warranty, and beg their staff to at least provide you with the warranty information they offer, which I was never provided.I am now stuck with a five day old vehicle with a shot transmission, and nothing offered from the dealership but a “that’s too bad” and time wasted on an unprofessional and disrespectful employee.
