These people will do what other tailors said was impossible, i have been here three times, and they were amazing every time. Ive had next day turnarounds for all 3 items I brought to them. All their work has been phenomenal to boot.
All the negative reviews are from the mentality challenged.Rude people are you serious? They did a service in one day for 20$ that would have cost twice that in 3-4 days...The place is great for name tapes. They got that down to a science!
True American hero. Thank you for your service. Great guy and a great man.
Super unprofessionally honestly. Called my wife in for an interview, at the interview and told her she was hired on the spot and gave her a start date. Eager to start, she texted the owners to confirm the start date when they told her “we have another girl coming in for an interview so we’ll let you know after if we’re going to divide the shifts, I’ll text you on this day”. Said day came and my wife never heard anything so she reached out again. The owner responded she had been sick and wasn’t good at managing business and that she’d get back to my wife yet again, however she did not. During my wife’s interview the owners stated they were huge Mississippi State fans and that they hired a current employee specifically because he was from Mississippi. They then proceeded to tell my wife that that employee wasn’t “very bright” and that he “couldn’t perform the easiest job”. Needless to say it’s poorly managed, unprofessionally, and overpriced. As much as we love supporting our local small business, I’d rather wait on base than ever step foot in this business again.
The service was phenomenal. Pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent store with an excellent staff
Rude staff, they do NOTHING for Veterans day or acknowledge the day. Did I mention the staff is rude and very unprofessional ?
They go out of their way to help you and they do same day alterations for cheap which is nice
The usual Marine Corps stuff. Reasonable priced merchandise.
Went to Foster’s for some name tapes, and the service was great. The guy working at the counter (I’m assuming the owner) was very nice and helpful. Pricing is fair and service was same day.
I loved going into Fosters, the people there were extremely nice. The prices are a bit more then the online prices at Nine-line but when you consider shipping costs it evens out. This is a great unique store!
Always at the top of their game, with super quick turn overs on getting things sewn on. Typically no more than a one day wait.
I needed some sewing done and Fosters was the only place that wasnt backed up at least a couple days. Took two shirts to have chevrons stitched on and was charged $34.24. Mind you, I had already purchased my chevrons somewhere else, so that was not included in the price. When I asked why it was so high they were extremely unprofessional and smart. This place will not make another dollar off of me. Just another place in Jacksonville to rip Marines off.
A little bit of everything hats tees uniforms etc prices reasonable helpful staff nice place
Ill keep it short for the people looking for honest reviews before shopping here. Outrageously expensive to get uniforms worked on, and very un professional with how they return your uniform back to you. Go to A-1 cleaners on Highway 17 instead for anything uniform related
Great place for military. Patriotic items.
Horrible service and bad customer service with overly high prices. Would not recommend stay away folks save your money.
Too my step father into here, hes a retired Marine and always talked about how much he liked Fosters when he was stationed at Lejeune. He walked in, found a pair of used desert marpat pants. He was immediately approached and was told he could not but those because they were only for active duty. Well one a sign would be nice, but lets not be rude about it. And to if youre going to sell off base, then it best be open to everyone. I will be asking my commanders to push to make Fosters off limits. They are over priced, rude and have no respect for veterans. My father had his retiree card on him, but he wasnt even going to both. It was a let down for him and for others.
Great place to go to pick up last minute items.
Being in the military it brings you great honor to go in another store that supports what we do. However this store does the opposite. My friend and I went in to get a shirt for me and the whole time we were in there they had this lady watch us like we were going to steal something. I was so overwhelmed by her standing right behind me that literally put the shirts back and told them that it was not only uncomfortable but disrespectful. I don’t recommend going to this place over priced and just weird.
Kind friendly service was exhibited the entire visit.
I needed to get name tapes done and put on my uniform, initially I thought wow they do it within 2 hours! I waited 3 hours and didnt get a call until I walked in they had been ready. Thats already a failure to communicate with the customer. I went home and noticed there was a big gap between 2 letters in my last name, I went a couple days later to see if they could work with me and the owner and another employee both acted defensive immediately instead of seeing what they could do about it. They did however change the name tapes on a bad note . Just thought Id share my experience with you all. Never going back
Very cool store same day dog tags and name tapes I will be returning back here.
They are ungodly expensive, for instance a single name tape with velcro will cost you about $10 at fosters, where it is $3.50 on base behind the 7 day. They also gave half of my order away to some one else without a receipt. I highly recommend avoiding this place like the plague. Their excuse for their prices being so much more expensive than base was that on base they do not have to pay rent or PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES... Im sorry but last I checked people that work on base still have to be paid. Their 1 day turn around is the only thing they have going for them. But then again I rather just take the extra day and stick to the alterations shop behind the 7 day.
I went in because my trouser hem was messed up from a previous alteration done in California. With little time, my trouser was fix in less than 45 minutes. Pretty impressed and the cost wasnt bad at all.
I work with a fairly well established security firm with multiple residential contracts in Carteret County (For my Marines - I am the fourth generation Gandson of Archibald Henderson, let that sink in Devil Dogs...). Recently sent a newly promoted Corporal in to pick up a simple set of collar devices (Her Corporal Chevrons for her dress uniform) - mind there is nothing claiming any branch of service in the purchase of a set of rank pins...My Officer (The daughter of a USMC Veteran) was refused service because she doesnt carry an Active Duty Military ID.I have made multiple attempts to reach out by telephone to hopefully obtain some level of compromise or solution only to be greeted by no response at all. Greatly disappointed.SSgt J. Spaur -Black Hawk International Security, LLC
For when they tell you, you got an alfas inspection tomorrow but you still got lcp Chevrons on it
Love my military stickers I get from here.
They were extremely helpful
I was getting used uniforms ranks changed and because I was getting it lowered he told me he was disgusted and that he was gonna charge me double. I had no other choice because I needed them done in an emergency. The chevrons were uneven and almost a full inch off, for someone so morally guided he sure doesnt care about the quality of uniform he tailors. My marines will not be coming here. Period.
This place is horribly overpriced. Do NOT get nametapes here. You are way better off ordering online on 1800nametapes. They charge $6 a nametape here but where they get you is the sew fee we paid over $60 for 6 nametapes. Meanwhile online it would have been just over $20 including shipping. Not even 5 minutes later we tried to get a refund considering nametapes werent even started yet, but ofcourse they dont do same day refunds just a few minutes afterwards. They are completely ripping people off.
I paid $250 for an Alpha coat and a minor alteration and i picked it up a week later and it looked like it was in a ball all week. they clearly do not take pride in their work. if i could do it all over again i would have just picked up something from base. and you should too. not going here again.
I came here years ago. Still do for any alterations.
Absolutely horrific prices for them to take five days on. Took my blues in to get altered new chevrons and blood stripe. Total was 105 and I got trousers with no stripe and a double seam
Horrible place awful prices rude staff. AVOID at all costs, used items cost more than you would find new at the MCX.
Great experience large inventory

Cant so straight cant even so a button on takes forever had to keep coming back day after day the slowest ever want to rip off overcharged cost double what they told me it would
