We were hit HARDER by Hurricanes Laura and Delta than we ever realized. My husband and I would not have made it this far without the insights and help of Ray Young and this company. From fighting insurance to getting our ALE released so we could move out of our home for demolition hes been there for us since October 1st, the day we met him. They started the demo yesterday and the crew is amazing and hard workingOur 4k sq ft house is almost gutted from ceiling to floor. I would recommend them to anyone that needs mitigation. They are catastrophic contractors so they KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR! I consider Ray a friend and he treats us the same. The crew is hard working and very respectful of emotional attachments and property. Plus HE shows up to property to check progress when they have jobs from Houston to the Carolinas that they are working on! Call them! I cannot express my total feelings and appreciation of this man and this company!
I am a resident of Texas who was affected by the freezing temperatures in February of 2021. Due to the extremes of temperatures, a pipe in my father’s home burst open. By the time we arrived at the house and realized what had happened, the first floor was inundated with a half-inch of water, with water flowing freely through the ceiling. My father was stuck abroad due to pandemic travel restrictions. So we were understandably crestfallen that, amidst the pandemic and the absence of our loved ones, we had to face another hardship.I spent the first few days trying to dry out what I could in the house while trying to get in touch with local mitigation and restoration companies. However, I soon learned that many other homes had been affected in the same way and that most companies had a waitlist and were understandably hesitant to offer me a fixed answer on when they would be able to respond to my needs. Fortunately, one of my kind neighbors had introduced me to Ray from SCI Roofing and Restoration. From the start, Ray was compassionate and understanding of the shock our family had just gone through. He was careful to explain every part of the mitigation process and what it entailed. Whenever changes to the plan were to be made, he would communicate it with us and explain why. The process hasn’t been easy as we’ve had to communicate with my father- the homeowner- either through me as a middle-man or via calls that featured a significant time-difference. Through it all, Ray was very patient and understanding.Beyond that, it was my first experience of having to meet with an insurance adjuster. I had so many concerns and questions. Did I respond correctly? Would the insurance company be willing to work with us and help us with damages? What could reasonably be covered? Luckily, Ray was able to meet with me when my insurance adjuster came by to help me through the process. I later found out just how incredibly lucky I was that Ray was a former insurance adjuster. It has definitely made the recovery process more streamlined.I’ve mentioned already that Ray is an excellent communicator, but I need to stress just how much he goes above and beyond. This gentleman answered my calls, addressed my concerns, and allayed my fears into odd hours of the night and during days when he would otherwise be expected to have time off. Did I expect him to respond so promptly? No, but it spoke volumes as to how much he cared about our home and about our family.Beyond Ray himself, the SCI crew who worked on restoring my house were kind and respectful. When I was on-site to observe progress, they were cognizant of my safety and made sure to stop any work that would potentially pose a hazard to me. It was also evident that they took great care in moving some of the items we had remaining in the house into our garage, being careful not to damage items that were not affected by the water in our home. This would later make it easier for me to sort out damage claims with the insurance company for items that were non-salvageable.I can’t say I have had enough experience with SCI, as a whole, to endorse it without qualification. However, if the rest of the company is anything like Ray and the SCI crewmembers that helped us, I believe that anyone could sufficiently be at ease that they are in good hands.I hope the day never comes when I should need Ray’s services again. However, if the need arises, I know who I’ll be calling.P.S. If you are reading this Ray, please know that I have come to respect and admire you as more than my contractor. You exemplify what it is to love what you do and how to be kind to people in an increasingly chaotic world. Thank you!
This company has some really great staff. They are hard working and try their best. Unfortunately they work really slow. They will demo your house and then don’t come back for 5 or 6 months. Then they do 1/10 of the job and say they will call when they are ready for the next step. it’s really hard taking time off of work to meet heir scheduling. Our damage is from the hurricane and it’s almost hurricane season again. They have completed the work and it looks great. It’s real quality work, I just wish it didn’t take so long.
