Tried this place out a few weeks ago and didn’t have a bad experience while in the chair. Barber, who I believe said he had over 30 years experience, did a pretty good job on the front. I didn’t notice the back until someone said something at my job site. I was blown away at how poor of job was done. I’ll never step foot into this shop again.

Stephanies level of service and attention to detail exceeded that of all previous barbers Ive been to. I wanted a different kind of haircut than I usually get and she executed it flawlessly. Ill definitely be a returning customer.

Tony was very professional. We didnt have a appointment but have walked in a couple times. Hes done all of my children ages 1, 3, 4, 5 & 6 years old but I was overly impressed with how he handle my 5 year old non verbal child who has autism and doesnt like being touched. His hair turned out amazing, Tony was patient, calm and understanding and earned a returning customer. We would 100% recommend Roosters.

If youve had your beard for years like myself, but have been too afraid to let a professional clean it up for ya, fear not! My wife booked an appointment for a beard trim with Jon, and Holy smokes was I blown away. My beard finally looks exactly the way Ive always wanted it to look. Roosters is the one of the best barbershops I’ve been to in Jacksonville. Staff is extremely friendly and talented I’ve never left there with a bad haircut or experience. Would recommend anyone to go to Jon as he’s very friendly, thorough and detail oriented.

I went into Roosters for the first time today. John was a master at his craft. My hair was in horrible shape and in 15 min this guy completely transformed my look 100% better. From the neck up everything was trimmed and on point. I cant say enough about how awesome he is. He is a little quiet because he is so focused. Highly recommend him

I was a walk in and even though they had been booked up for the day they went the extra mile and made time for me. And it was an awesome time. Hair cut, beard trim, hot towel, neck shave, shampoo and condition, and instruction on how to make it look like she did. I asked Missy to make my wife go grrr and she delivered. I took my son to Roosters to see Tony. My son is growing his hair long and it definitely needed some help! Tony not only trimmed his new long locks, but guided him with what tools and products to use and styling tips to keep it looking manicured, healthy and stylish! My sons hair went from (love him to bits) looking a little shaggy...to walking out looking like a handsome young man with gorgeous hair! Even his eyebrows and beard looked great! Had two really great low fades from MJ in the past! Took a chance on a walk-in w/ another gentleman barber due to scheduling issues and just wasn’t impressed. Seemed more intent on getting me out in under 20 min than putting effort into the haircut. Such a shame really. Not worth the price for that kind of rushed service especially when nobody is even waiting to get a haircut in the shop.

I walked in wet from a recent rainstorm Miss Judy offered me a towel. Mr. Tony gave me the best conversation and haircut Ive had in a long time!

This was going to be my place. My barber. I purchased a home in San Marco and was really happy about finding a local place that I could support and pay a premium for a nice experience. I went for a cut like I have numerous times in the past. However this time, I had my daughter. I asked if they could give her a quick trim as well. The lady I asked was very nice and asked another gentleman near the front. He stated that he cut a females hair the previous week and was told by the owner, if he cut another females hair, he could work somewhere else. I am a Dad to a female and want to raise her to know that she is able to do anything a male can. I refuse to support anywhere that excludes females or objectifies them. Unfortunately, this place excludes them. I will never step foot in the place again and I will tell every person I can to avoid them. Very disappointed.

AWESOME. Doug is perfect. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. I have been to see Doug for my last three cuts (and beard trims) and he has been more than excellent every time. He works to make sure I get exactly what I want and is always willing to provide advice (I have recently been working on a new beard style). I could not ask for anyone better. His service and quality of work is top notch. I would highly recommend to anyone. Roosters in general is a perfect blend of a high quality hair cut and a mens barber shop. I have been to many salons, barbershops, and even other roosters locations all throughout the state of Florida and the northeast and Dougs work and care is simply unsurpassed. After several bad experiences at Super Cuts and Hair Cuttery, I was able to convince my 17 year old son to give Roosters try. He was seen by Melissa who did a fantastic job. She walked him through what she was going to do and made sure he got exactly what he wanted. Worth every penny- my son no longer looks like a homeless werewolf!

Appointment time means appointment time. If your previous customer was late – I don’t think it is my problem. That tardy customer should get on the walk-in list, and I should receive my service at the appointed time, not “at least another 30min, and there’s another customer in front of you”UPDATE: thank you for your response. I will give it another try. Regardless, 1 star is probably not very fair to begin with and so Ill change this review soon. I was very upset about the appointment time delay as it ruined many plans that day (and a week ahead)UPDATE2: things don’t always go perfect, but I always appreciate business’s effort to make things right.

Perfect hair cut by Tony as always. He has been cutting my hair for over 10 years and am so glad he is at Roosters which is so convenient for me. For the person who gave him a bad review I find that very suspicious. He is GREAT.

I’m don’t live in Jacksonville and was here for a wedding, and looked up Roosters and saw all of the amazing reviews and figured I would get a cut and shave here. I scheduled an appointment with Melissa. It was the most detailed, precise, flawless cut and shave I’ve gotten. I have sensitive skin and every barber that’s ever cut my hair has nicked me, Melissa did NOT nick me and gave me the closest and cleanest shave. I wish there was a Roosters AND Melissa where I lived! I would get a shave in a barbershop more frequently. Hair cut was great as well, and she shaped up my goatee perfectly! Thank you Melissa!

I have been in Jacksonville for 3 years now and had not been able to find a barber I like until I went to Roosters. To start the shop is clean and more upscale than most. I found Roosters when I was looking for a Barber that does old school, Hot towel/lather shave with a straight razor. I only got a beard trim on this trip and was very happily surprised. It was 30+ min of relaxation and excellent service. I immediately booked another appointment which I cant wait to go to.

Beard newbie with no idea how to trim it so I made an appointment here. Not thinking, I made it right before a dentist appointment so I was kind of rushed, but Tony worked with my schedule. He gave me a quick trim and advice on how to keep it in good shape.

I’m normally not one to pay $30 for a haircut but after seeing the other great reviews and thinking about it, I had a change of heart. Afterall, it is an investment in yourself, your image and who you are. Everyone was kind, professional and helpful. The lady who cut my hair, Lucy, was great and we had a great conversation. The shampoo and hot towel were also phenomenal additions and made it well worth the money. I will definitely be coming back. I’d also suggest booking in advance.

I usually have to go straight home and shower after a hair cut to get the tiny hairs off, but not at Roosters.

Moved to town a couple months ago and couldn’t find anywhere to get a decent hair cut. Roosters is great, but Melissa is the BEST! Come to her every 7-10 days and always leave with a great cut. Couldn’t be happier with her as my barber / stylist.

I was stopping by the local running store to pick up our race bibs. My son was with me and needed a haircut and noticed this shop around the corner. Great experience from the moment we walked in. I didnt helicopter around my 10 y.o. while he was explaining what he wanted. The gentleman who cut my sons hair could have just taken 2 minutes to trim his hair and send us out the door. Instead, he took the time to give us professional advise as to what we can do to better my sons hair style. I have bever gotten the feedback i got from ANY other hair salon like the advise we got. We live in Virginia, but whenever we are visiting family in Jax we will definitely be stopping back in again!

This is a great men’s only barber shop. It is on the higher end of price for a barber shop but is definitely an experience that every man can enjoy and relax while getting pampered at the same time. Definitely a great men’s hair cut and style I have gotten and best beard clean up I have ever had.

My husband got his first hair cut at Roosters this past Sunday. Not only did he love it and find it relaxing, but hes had intense migraines everyday for years and many doctors appointments with no answers. For the first time hes found something to treat his migraines... a warm towel and a massage under his ears. They gave him one after his haircut. He discovered this at Roosters!! Were so grateful!!! My husband told me he will be a regular. Thank you so much!!

This is my new favorite Barber Shop. Jon is great and talented in his craft and leaves me looking and feeling great. Pete is always quick to greet you with a smile. TJ is patient with my 6 year old son. My only issue is the lighting situation above each station.

I have been here for almost a year with Melissa ... she does great job every time and listens to my needs... she is welcoming and friendly and I always have good feeling after my hair cut ... I usually book online but I walk in sometimes and she is available most of the time they are open!

Scheduled a appointment online very simple, got in and was greeted with smiles and felt very welcome! Melissa gave me exactly what I had picture in my mind. My first time ever coming here and enjoyed myself.

The best mens haircut place, I had really long hair and they cut my hair and made my hair look amazing in just 15mins, it was very fast they also offer mints and coffee and boy do I love that. But overall Roosters is number one. Also one time the landlord drove me to get my extra pair of car keys because we left our keys in the car, so they are very helpful.

1st time I went, they cut my bangs pretty uneven. Took it as as a loss and moved on. Went back today and made sure to get someone new, they were doing well and then they decided to trim my eyebrows mid cut and shaved the outer halves of them extremely thin and didnt even do the middle part. All I wanted was a haircut, will not be back.

Lets be perfectly clear, I hate having to find a new barber. I recently moved back to the area after 30 years in the Northeast where for nearly 20 of them, the incomparable Gabrielle Rice of Lords & Ladies Formals kept me looking like I was not a bum stuck in one decade in the distant past.Coming back to the Jax area, its been tough to find the right place. I am certain there are fine establishments throughout the Jacksonville area and surrounding communities, but I have simple process in life. Find competent people, let them work, and pay them.So when I go to a barber and tell them that I want it tight on the sides and long enough to style but not comb over because I know my hair is thinning and I am not trying to hide anything, and, if possible, please keep me looking relevant, but not hip, I expect that to be enough information because it was enough information for Gabrielle Rice.Sadly, that is not often the case.But it was with Melissa at Roosters Mens Grooming Center (Jacksonville, FL).More importantly, Melissa took the information I gave her, told me what she was going to do, and then did it. This resulted in an efficient use of my time and a great haircut.And yes, you will pay a premium for the service, but it is not a surprise. All the prices are posted, in large type, with detailed descriptions. If your bill is a surprise, you have not been paying attention.And, icing on the cake, look at the hours. Open during the week until 8:00 PM? Open on Sunday? It is convenient, a great value, and staffed competently.I wholeheartedly recommend this business.UPDATED 8/27/2019Its been nearly a year since I started going to Roosters and the only thing that has changed is I moved up to the Gentlemans Choice, which includes some extras and a great shave.Melissa is my go-to barber and I remain completely satisfied with her professionalism and skill. I did like my hair cut it was great but not much with my beard, the barber didn’t do what I told her to do on my beard.

First of all 30 dollars for a trim is ridiculous. I ended up with a very young person doing my hair that had no idea what a 3 on the sides and blend the top in meant.. I ended up coming home and using my own clippers to try to make my haircut look half way decent for work. On top of that he cut off a mole on the back of my neck with a straight razor and when I was paying they said it was part of the experience ..
