The rep told me the charges would amount to $590. I agreed to that. After the wrecker pulled the vehicle out of the mud, the tow driver showed a bill of $620 - fine. The rep called from the office afterward stating it would be $1100 and charge our account without approval. Very poor service and unprofessional. Do not use these scammers.

Cody was outstanding. Our Tesla broke down at a supercharger in a remote area off the highway on a family road trip with three kids which made things particularly stressful. Tesla offered an uber voucher to help us get to another location/rental car which was unhelpful as there were no Uber vehicles around to pick us up because we were so far from a city. Cody was the tow truck driver who realized we were stranded and gave my husband a ride to a rental car agency for free which was out of his way and he wouldn’t accept a tip for his troubles. He was amazing and it reminded me to pay it forward when someone else may need help.

I was broke down in the middle of a 4 lane on 301, I put out traffic cones that Mike had on his truck to detour traffic away from both sides of us as traffic was constant and safety is always a first priority. On 12/11/20 my wife an I were in ST Augustine Fl celebrating our anniversary,for some reason our car battery died so I searched for the closest road assistance and southern wrecker came up,so I gave them a call for a jumpstart,we waited almost two hours for the driver to show up,once he got to our location he pulled out a Ryobi jump box and proceeded to try to jump the car,there was no change so I decided to lend him a hand,I started inspecting the cables and noticed the jump box was completely depleted,the gauge was on red,so I told him several times that the box didn’t have enough juice to turn over the vehicle,he was there for about 10 minutes he wasn’t able to jump the vehicle(dead box)he offered a tow which I refused,and left.I decided to leave the car there overnight and catch a lift to our hotel,the lift driver asked what was the problem and I explained it to him,so we made arrangements for him to come pick me up at the hotel the next morning to get the car running,as soon as I put the jumping cables on the car turned right over(weak battery)The next day I got a charge from southern wrecker for $85,so I contacted them and explained the situation and told them I didn’t understand why I was being charged for services that weren’t rendered.The only response I got from them was that they forwarded my first email to the driver,nothing else.At this point I truly believe the box was dead on purpose so they could tow the vehicle and make more $ on a simple jumpstart call.So the lesson here is if your battery dies call someone else unless you really want to be taken for a ride.Ps we were almost 4 hours away from our home,our vehicle had zero mechanical issues during the whole trip so I’m guessing we must have left a door open and the low temperature must have drained the battery.Hopefully thia will help someone not be a victim of this scam.

I rented a bob cat from Home Depot to cut a path around my property and hit a mud hole and became track deep in mud. Contacted Southern Wrecker at 0400 (thanks to the person that responded) realizing this was more than the neighbors or I could handle. I had to wait on HD to open to confirm if I needed to go through them and was told no, on me. So Thomas came right out and summed up my situation and made the call on what was needed. What seemed like a big deal to me was another day at the office for him and reassured they could get it right out. Patrick and Brian soon arrived after assembling Thomas request. They got right to work and did it by the numbers. After some adjustments to the angle of recovery I was out. Thomas, Patrick, and Brian did a great job and impressed the hell out of me. If youre stuck, call Southern Wrecker, theyre ACE cards for sure.

One true test of a companys dedication is their response to a situation, and yes, it did happen once. Their recovery to a problem was top notch, and proved to me their dedication to their customers.

On Saturday the 24th of December, our truck died on our way to Disney World while hauling our 5th wheel camper. Stranded along I-95 near St. Augustine, I contacted Good Sam who then dispatched a wrecker that could only haul my truck leaving our 5er alongside the highway. I sent them packing and went about my own way to find another company (Good Sam was worthless IMO). Fortunately I found Southern Wrecker.Spoke with Heather at Southern Wrecker and my stress began to magically disappear. She was efficient and worked on getting a heavy hauler sent that could handle my entire rig. To boot, she even sent another truck to pick up my wife, child and dog since the heavy hauler would not have room in the cab. If that wasnt enough, she then arranged to have my camper hauled another 2 hours to Disney World so that we could enjoy our week while our truck was being repaired.I want to give a shout out the Heather for getting us back on the road and to our destination. She continued to follow up with me throughout the day to ensure that we (and our camper) got to Disney. She literally turned a VERY stressful time into one that was quite palatable. Thank you Heather for you calming effect, your efficiency and your desire to truly help. I had a blowout in my 32 motorhome on I-10 with my whole family inside (including the dog). Luckily, no one was hurt, and we were able to get to the shoulder without further incident, though there was enough damage to render the vehicle undrivable. We have roadside assistance coverage with Gieco and they connected us with Southern Wrecker & Recovery. Once they were on scene, it was determined they could not tow the RV without the tire being replaced first. No taxi companies were willing or able to come pick up our family from the side of the interstate, so we had to have another family member come to pick them up. I stayed with the vehicle to oversee the process. Bill, the driver, stayed with us until the mobile tire company arrived and changed the tire. In the meantime, Bill helped us think through our options for where to have it towed to. In the process, I found out he lives around the corner from me. He was gracious enough to allow me to ride along to the Ford Dealership. He then helped me get some essential items out of the RV and offered me a ride home in his personal vehicle, since his shift was ending, and he was heading that way anyway. This saved my wife another hour and a half round trip to come get me and our stuff, not to mention the added stress of trying to find childcare after a difficult afternoon. They are professional and always know how to get the job done in the safest, quickest, and most efficient way. Southern has a reputation in the northeast as one of THE companies to call when no one else can or will. And this is coming from a driver of a competing light/medium duty company .

My car died last Friday. Called insurance and was told the waiting time was 120 min. I asked them to look for another towing company that could rescue me in a shorter period of time. They contacted Southern Wrecker and the expected time was 60 min. In reality, the towing truck with Mike showed up within 30 min or less. That alone was a good sign. Mike suggested to jump start first and then take it from there. The car started but I was afraid to drive it, in case it happened again. I asked Mike if he could possibly tow it to my house. It was no problem. My husband showed up shortly, explained the directions and asked Mike to please wait for us at the property since we wanted him to leave the car at a certain spot. My wifes car ended up needing a tow about 2 weeks ago. It was a rainy night during rush hour and Southern Wrecker was able to get Mike out within 30 minutes of my wife calling. Prior to his arrival, Mike called and said he was on his way. Mike was extremely professional and worked hard to get the car up and loaded as quickly and safely as possible. Our experience was so great that when we had to get her car towed to the repair shop today my wife called and specifically requested Mike to come tow her car. The dispatcher was very kind and helpful, she allowed us to schedule a time after work for Mike to come. Then about an hour before we requested Mike to arrive, we received a call from someone at Southern Wrecker to confirm our tow time and that Mike would be our driver. True to form Mike called when he was on his way and was at our house within 30 minutes. I would recommend Southern Wrecker and Mike to anyone who asks.

I rarely post a review but when this happened today at my business i had to. One of my employees car broke down in my drive way and she called Southern Wrecker. The driver came out very promptly. He was very professional and decided to look at what was wrong before loading her car. He was able to fix her car and would take no pay. Not even for his time and the gas it took him to get here. Thomas was wonderful on helping take care of my tow situation on Tuesday the 26th the day after Christmas. Hooked the truck up great and very pleasant. Later in the week I had another truck that I had to break down I asked for him, he knows exactly what to do very satisfied will call if I can every time to get Thomas. I will definitely use Southern Wrecker for future breakdowns when I need a tow, I’ll be sure to ask for Thomas then too because he’s very fast, efficient, and helpful.

Having a disabled vehicle in the dropoff lane at the airport isnt fun (especially as passersby watch as your car gets searched by security). Mike came to pick up my truck got there within a half hour when I was given an hour eta. Mike also was able to load my truck with no issues he knew how to work his equipment and was kind and helpful with me getting my truck back to my house. I have been recommended by one of my friends to use southern and would strongly recommend southern for someone else.

I drive a lifted Ford F150 4 door 4 x 4. My brakes went out on Argyle Forest Blvd & I made it onto the shoulder on Blanding Blvd. I called Southern Wrecker at 6:24 pm. Frank answered the phone & Amy followed up. Kyle called me at 6:35 to double check my location & say he was on his way. At 7:14 Kyle had my truck loaded & was on his way. (my husband picked me up). The whole process was less than an hour. I felt reassured from the dispatchers to the driver. They made a terrible situation not so bad! I would recommend Southern Wrecker to anybody needed a tow! Southern Wrecker is the most disgraceful, dishonest establishment that ive ever run across. My husband truck was towed, and while on their property was broken into either by staff or employees, all of his electronics was stolen. After informing my husband that his legally insure vehicle was illegally towed, and if he bring in receipts he will be reimbursed, because my husband brought the car already equipped he could not produce all receipts but did produce estimates,. Mr. Vito then informed my husband that, those was not good enough for the insurance company and they will not be able to reimburse him. So for that they will get no stars if i could. That is not how hard working people should be treated

They were suppose to be at our home at 12:00 and at 11:45 I received a call from their office notifying me they were running a few minutes behind ( I thought this was amazing customer service and made me feel like my time was important to them) shortly after Matt arrived to pick up my jeep. He got out of his truck shook my hand and apologized for running behind. He explained to me everything he was going to do, loaded my jeep and started to head out. The other day I had a need for a tow service, I own a Cadillac Escalade and Im very particular about my vehicle. This company responded to my call in a very reasonable time frame. When the driver showed up I was very surprised of his appearance, he was by far the MOST professionally dressed tow truck driver I have ever seen. He took the time to tell me how he was going to load my vehicle and that I had nothing to worry about, The driver said he would take care of my vehicle as if it was his, that was good to know, I just hoped he liked his vehicle as much as I loved mine. I was run off the road at 295 and 95n by a tour bus moving into my lane. I contacted my insurance company ND within 3 minutes from hanging up with them I was contacted by the dispatcher and then the tow driver . My insurance company estimated wait wait would be 60 minutes but within. 45 mi no Mike was at my side. He towed me off the highway to the well lighted Walmart Parking lot and within 5 minutes my tire was changed and I was on my way.

So they dropped my motorcycle and broke my handle bar. So instead of paying for the damages they want me to go through my insurance. And due to the damage THEY caused my insurance is going to salvage the bike over a broken handle bar and blown out seals on my forks and a cracked headlight and paint.They will nickel and dime you and then bend you over make you lose a vehicle due to their lack of experience and willing to come out of pocket and fix their mistake.

I very rarely leave comments or posts about locations I have visited but do not get any services from Southern wrecker their customer service sucks its the worst company I have ever used. I told the dispatcher I would get to the wrecker yard within the hour it took me 45 minutes. I called once I got to the location and he has still yet to send out the person to give me back my car. They come up with random fees before you know it one day will cost you well over $250 please stay away from this location

When i got into a crash 3 weeks ago Brian was Professional, and gave me a ride to the shop. We rode and told each other Chuck Norris jokes and Dad jokes all the way there. 10/10 would totally get in a crash again.

I called lastnight to schedule a tow for this morning because I had an appointment to get my car fixed. I was quoted $85 and they told me they would pick it up at 8 am. Then this morning when I call to pay I had a lady named Heather tell me that I was misquoted and its actually $150! She said the lowest she could give it to me for was $125. Then she said she would need the keys to tow it!!! So how is it my problem that you have someone working for you that doesnt know how to quote your customers correctly? Ive been in management for 6 years and this is horrible customer service. You should have given me what I was quoted and dealt with your employee seperately. Safe to say I wont be doing business with them ever and thanks to them I missed my appt.
