Closed for a month for maintenance. Still no soap in restrooms. Not enough barbells for bench press machines. Worn out grips on machines. Not enough grips for pull down machines. Missing half the 10-30 lb dumb bells. Did they just vacuum for a month? One week into reopen after ONE MONTH of being closed and this is what the gym looks like.

I like this gym BUT this location was closed for an entire month for maintenance/repairs and honestly I was very excited to come back and see the improvements… total let down.An entire month of inconvenience for costumers and the ONLY noticeable change is that the bushes were taken out, the rest of the gym is worst than before…

This is the worst LA fitness location i have ever been. Starting off with the equipment, NOT ENOUGH!! The gym is too crowded and doesn’t make it worth $40/month at all. You actually have to treasure hunt to find ropes bars and grips and other cable attachments. Bathroom seems nice but the whole sauna floor is chopped and cracked. Maybe LA fitness should consider opening up a new location nearby to get rid of this mess.

Even after multiple attempts of follow up i am still waiting on a response or resolution from la fitness end for the billing. Hence leaving this review. Does La Fitness waits when we owe them money after a billing cycle? Then why is that after so many emails i am not getting any response.i almost sent 5 email in last 2 weeks. I also am trying to reach via phone but no one is picking up. please respond back appropriately instead of giving false information like i got response once that the facility is not closed. The facility is indeed shut down for more than a month as per the notification. Attached is the relevant info about closure and LA Fitness customer care response.WHY exactly we are getting charged if the facility is closed for over a month. What are you charging us for ? Can someone please provide a reasonable clarification on this.

I’m so disappointed in this gym. They had one month for “renovations and repairs”. The gym was closed during that time. Come back 1 month later and there are still out of order machines, rusted equipment, and construction tape in locker rooms. The women’s locker room is really unacceptable. There is a big dent in the floor (a used overflowing toilet was taken out and placed in one of the shower areas, it was disgusting!) the hair dryers do not work. I told the front desk staff about it and they nodded, but it’s still not fixed. 3 of the showers have no hot water. The hot tub jets are malfunctioning (they shoot up instead of straight). The hand sanitizer is out and doesn’t work. The little lockers for storing keys are out of order. The list goes on.The other locations in coppell and Carrollton are MUCH nicer and are a world of difference. This gym is a real disappointment for those of us who live in las colinas. The only redeeming feature is that the staff at the front are generally nice and pleasant.

I had to share my experience after reading the reviews. I admit, I was hesitant going there, but NOTHING in any of the bad reviews was a thing. I was greeted when I walked in, helped quickly and got a guest pass. There was no bad smell and weights were accessible. The locker room was very clean and all in all, it was just what I was looking for, so I joined. I wasnt pressured I to a specific package by the sales person and they were extremely friendly. I am happy with being a member of this location.

It’s not bad but not great either. Their sales tactic is like a car dealership. They have so many people working in sales, but no one really going around the gym for simple maintenance. Free weights are always missing they’re just lying around in random places. To be fair, yes, members who use the gym should act like adults and put things back where they belong.. At least have signs to remind people to put gym equipment back where they belong to create a better culture around the place. Or simply get more free weights for them to be available to more people. After all, this is one of the more packed LA Fitness location. The employees sitting at their desks really should be told to help maintain the gym better. Tricep pull ropes needs to be replaced they are thinned out to the bones, if they snap someone can get seriously injured.. that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. I do think members are responsible as well. However, members are paying money for the service and experience. They shouldn’t be paying money and expect to be working to maintain the place too. Again it’s not a bad gym but considering how populated this gym is the management needs to increase scrutiny on maintenance of simple equipments.

Literally the absolute worst gym I’ve ever been to. Weights are never re-racked. Have left the gym at night to come back the following morning only to find the gym still in disarray from the night before. Have seen the staff play racquetball more than help pick up around the gym. There are not enough barbells- they split them between the squat rack and bench press. Cables are missing, trash everywhere, women’s locker room is often closed, machines are broken frequently. Also the gym is closed “indefinitely for repairs” but we were still charged for this month? Take it from someone who has sold memberships before- they will tell you anything to get you signed up. Their trainers are less than subpar- do not join this gym.

Decided to finally join a gym. On my second day my locker got broken into, my phone along with cash was stolen. (Yes, I did have a lock) they broke the hinge of the door to get in. The gym does not have any cameras, not even in the main entrance. Staff seemed clueless as to what to do. I had to ask if they were going to do a report about it, (if not they probably wouldn’t have made one). I made my police report later on that same day. Officer that answered mentioned that that gym is actually a hot spot for robberies. Apparently people get their cars broken in frequently. I decided to call and try to speak to the manager to cancel and get a refund of my membership. Never received a call back, instead I get an email with a notice of my cancellation and refund. So much for them trying to keep their clientele. Makes me wonder if it was an inside job?

I switched to this gym from 24 Hour Fitness because it was slightly closer and because the associate I spoke with assured me repeatedly that the plan he was signing me up for was a double plan that I could share with my roommate and not just a buddy pass like Id had at 24 (meaning we could both use the membership individually as opposed to him having to be with me to use the facilities). Turns out that was just false and my roommate was not able to use the gym unless I was with him, which we didnt find out until after wed signed up and couldnt get our initiation fee or annual fee refunded. So that sucked. Also, this gym closes for repairs without any advance notice via email or mobile notification, so you have no idea until you show up at the gym and cant get in, which is particularly frustrating if you have an even slightly busy schedule, or if you dont like taking preworkout and then being unable to lift. They show very little concern for their members, and if it werent for the fact that I already paid the annual fee (and cant get a refund) I would switch back to 24 in a heartbeat. The employees are nice enough, but it seems like the place just needs new management. Very disappointed, and will be switching back to 24 Hour Fitness as soon as Ive gotten my moneys worth out of LAs nonrefundable annual fee.

There’s been many bad reviews with the “Covid” fake safety standards at this location. So before coming here and leaving a bad review - if you want to wear your mask then wear it. It isn’t even advised by the CDC anymore to work out with a mask nor would anyone with common sense recommend cutting off your oxygen supply while working out! Secondly - why are people freaking out when there is NO MANDATE ORDER in Texas and there’s a 99.9% survival rate from C-19. During the evening hours, this place actually smells atrocious. (Had to leave the other day due to the smell). Good luck finding the dumbells you need, as its a rare occurrence for them to be re-racked. I left at closing last week (maybe 5 people left in the gym) and virtually the entire bottom rack of dumbells was empty due to other members just dropping them wherever they were using them. I think the staff just gave up trying to keep things in order as Ive never seen a staff member really do anything other than stand around the front and socialize. Meaning even if there is an open squat rack, there probably isnt a bar to use. On top of that, the common dumb bell weights (anything under 45) are literally always missing. No one seems to return weights so my partner and I literally walk all around the fitness floor to find what we need. Mask mandate isnt being enforced.Staff REALLY need to do a better job of getting equipment returned to its place and restocking the gym. The lack of bars is absurd. If youre looking for personal training look literally anywhere else, unless youre looking to be deceived and waste over $1000. Sorry for the length, skip to the bullets if you want a TLDR. I went in interested in doing some personal training. They give you a complimentary introductory session before selling you an actual program and having you sign the contract. Well, turns out that the person you do the training session with is one of the sales people and, well... you wont get to train with that person. To finalize the contract they call some VP of something that lives in California. No idea why a VP would need to handle a contract, but he gives you the following explanation regarding canceling personal training services, if you so decide, after you have signed the contract:Okay, say you have 8 personal training sessions. You only use 4, but have 4 left. You would be responsible for paying 4 and we [LA Fitness] would cover the other 4.Simple enough right? You pay half for half of the training sessions, LA Fitness covers the other half. Wrong. You ACTUALLY pay half of the REMAINDER of the contract. Essentially you pay for 6 and they pay for 2. So, instead of paying $625 for HALF of the contract, you end up paying $1050 In defense of this location, and probably the reason they do it this way in the first place, all they enforce is the contract and NOT what you were told by Mr. VP California (Jonah I believe was his name.)Then theres the second instance of misleading. When receiving my pitch, the sales guy, again, not a trainer, wanted to introduce me to one of the trainers that had a similar body type and thus would be a good trainer for me. Something I didnt find out and wasnt told until several days later when I tried to book a training session on the LA Fitness app is apparently they have different levels of trainer. It was only once I tried to book a session that I saw my only options were Certified Trainers. The trainer to whom I was introduced was a Master Trainer. The Master Trainer obviously costing twice as much as the newly certified/no experience Certified Trainers. But, they do reassure you that the no experience ones dont actually create the programs, instead the Director and Master Trainers do. So, you pay the same as you would for any other personal trainer for 30 minutes of actual training (youre expected to stretch for 15 minutes before your session and 15 minutes after by yourself) AND that trainer didnt even create your program.Look, I get that trainers need a way to gain experience and I probably would have been fine with that. I also now understand why it is important to read the ENTIRETY of a contract before you sign it. The problem that I have is that this company is incredibly deceptive and intentionally misleads you just to get you to sign the contract. If you still decide to go for the very underwhelming personal training services offered by LA Fitness, here are some things to keep in mind and know in regards to what your contract says:1) If you cancel before your term is up (known as a buyout) know that you will pay half of the REMAINDER of your contract. For example, if you sign a 12 mo. contract and ONLY USE 6 mo., you will pay for the 6 mo. you used PLUS HALF of the REMAINDER of your 6 mo. In other words you will be paying for 9 months.2) There are two levels of trainers. Certified Trainers and often newly certified or inexperienced and are the basic level. Master Trainers have been working at the company and have gained experience there, but are significantly more expensive.3) Even if you purchase the Master Trainer program, your gym MAY NOT necessarily even have a master trainer on staff and you will be stuck with a certified trainer (this is also written in the contract, so dont say I didnt warn you).4) Just in case you do want to terminate a contract, per the contract you have 3 DAYS to cancel without penalty (i.e. after those 3 days you will have to do a buyout and pay half of the remainder of your contract.)

The WORST gym in terms of how they do business. Their sales people do not discuss upfront what all they plan to charge you - so be careful. They gave us a lower monthly just to get us to sign, without telling us they will charge an annual fee later on. When we learned about this, we decided to cancel, but they will NOT let you cancel. They will say their system doesnt allow them to cancel. They will keep charging you even if you told them you want to cancel. This way of doing business says a lot about their company. All they care about is milking people money and not about doing business ethically and treating customers right. AVOID THIS GYM AT ALL COSTS. There are better gyms in the area with great service, better facilities, and much better customer service and honest business.

Nice gym! Lots of equipment, free weights, plenty of benches and cages. A bit short on the smaller dumbbells and no bands or chains. It can be a bit of a shock if you like folks using towels, wiping equipment and putting weights back, but it only takes a couple minutes to get used to. This is a very good bodybuilding club. Highly recommended.

If you’re from out of town, don’t bother getting a guest pass. They won’t accept anyone over 30miles out. Which also not a listed policy when requesting your guest past. However; the folks working at the front desk are great and understand your frustration. The 2 stars is for the poor accommodation of this facility and not a reflection of its staff. TF with this LA Fitness and their $16 price tag for a day use.

Worst marketing, I called them to find out about the membership, after that they did keep calling continuously, even I informed them that I might be moving out of dallas and if i move i might not consider LA fitness as it is 7miles and i have some other club close to me better than LA fitness. They said they will be refunding the amount paid if I am moving out, I called them after 1 r 2 days as i have decided to move out then they started showing true colors, they dont respond, call back, when i ask for Chris who signed me up they just say he didnt came and with worst attitude, they might have signed me up and made me paid initial deposit but never again i am gonna sign up with LA fitness

Outstanding facility! This place is no joke unlike other gyms I’ve worked at. The real deal. I’d give it a higher rating if I could. 👍🏽

Been 2 days at LA fitness and I’m liking it. Day 1 at the racket ball court and day 2 at the cycle class. Would’ve been nice if they offered bats for racket ball but nevertheless ive had a good experience!

This place is awesome. The trainers are very attentive and welcoming. They push you out of your comfort zone, although they modify for you if you need it: the environment is amazing, loud music high energy. I look forward to my workouts.

This location has a little more space than most other locations, but it needs every inch. Every time time I have visited it, it’s busy and sometimes hard to get the equipment I want to use due to someone/people using them. I prefer going to one of the ones without the crowd, but if you feed off the energy of others in the gym, then this is a good one for you.

Have been a member at this location for more than a year. Never had any issues so far, every staff where super helpful and professional. With the pandemic, completely understand the reduced time of operations. But today a staff asked me to leave the gym at 7:57 taking away the equipment i was working on. Told him that it wast 8 yet and if we do not leave by 8 he could have asked me to leave . But he literally kicked us out taking the equipment away while I was asking him twice, That It’s my last set and will be out in a Minute.I Went back to ask his name and he was very unprofessional and said his name (do not want to mention here) and just started walking away when I was still talking, He was so rude . Is that how you treat a member ? Extremely disappointed!!

The personnel are absolutely impolite and rude. LA fitness makes it so hard to even cancel my own personal membership contract. They say you need to come in person, and only one guy has the authority to cancel and then they make you wait for ever. They really don’t know how to treat their customers. Unfortunately there is no other decent gym nearby else I would have quit from here.
