SHADY TACTICS! I signed up for a 3 day pass online. When I arrived I told them I’m here for work that could last anywhere from 2-4 months and might signing up if I like the gym. They switched up and told me I had to pay $20 for the day or sign up on the spot because I’m not a “resident.” Instead of getting a chance to earn my business, they felt it wasn’t worth it and decided to try and charge me even though nothing on my pass says I need to be a resident. Just plain SHADY!!! I bet they won’t fight me.
I’m not gonna lie I normally don’t have such a positive review for Gyms but 24 hour fitness ( this location specifically) is by far one of my best experiences. The facility is usually clean and machines are kept up with on maintenance. The manager is extremely nice and knows everybody on a first name basis. He genuinely cares about the members on a personal level. I think the personal trainers are awesome as well and seem to be really knowledgeable/ affective. I really look forward to going to the gym because I know I’m always going to have a great experience. ( not a fake review 😊)
Went in to get more info and check out the gym, Karen helped us, was super nice, professional and informative. This gym is super clean, people that come here are here to actually gym and not be creepy. I recommend 100%
I showed up here looking to try out their gym for the day and the girl helping me told me it would be free for a day pass. But because Im out of town her manager came and told me it would be $20 for a workout... this is after downloading their free 3 day pass online which is lying its not free apparently. Manager had attitude and said there was nothing she could do because I did not live there I would have to pay. I kindly said no thank u and am writing this review.
Just joined, but so far they are absolutely fantastic!
To all those who want to keep others safe and expect the club you choose to enforce the same, 24 Hour Fitness is NOT for you. The manager at the Irving location is doing his best with the corporation he is working with, but when the CEO does not care, he is fighting a losing battle. Today, Jan 24, the assistant manager walked by several people not wearing a mask covering their mouth and said nothing to them. If you are looking for a place that takes your safely seriously, check out the corporate owned Planet Fitness.
I made a 3 day guess pass to check out the gym, I had some friends that come to this gym and we were going to play basketball. So I made my pass at home and brought my basketball stuff to the gym. As soon as I entered, I let the lady at the front desk know I had just made a guest pass. She told me that I would have to pay $20 for the day or $40 for the week for a pass because I had my basketball stuff and apparently the guest pass doesn’t apply if I use the basketball court?I had to leave my friends who were waiting for me in the gym because there was no way I was spending $20 for a day pass. Really odd policy, wouldn’t recommend.
The blonde white guy (not the manager) at the front desk needs to take a class on customer service skills. I walked in and he just gave me a look like I was some kind of an annoyance. No smile, hi how are you doing? Then I asked him questions about my account and his tone of voice was not friendly and continued to convey that he seemed annoyed. I’ve worked in customer service so I know that tone of voice and your mannerisms are something customers not only see but feel. He was not friendly and just had an unfriendly look on his face the whole time. I’m glad I won’t be working out here anymore.
Very clean, well maintained, free weights are organized and machines and benches are well kept. I just wish it was more swimming lanes
I joined club for 1 month. They had my credit card details. Membership not explained properly. I was not told about auto payments. In addition to monthly charges, I was also charged for annual fee. I am overcharged by almost $130 for the months I was not using the club. Worst experience. No cooperation. Did not listen customers part and concluded no refund will be available. Not a good way for doing business.
Before work, average ten to eleven hours work day not including commute, I would exercise at the 24Hrs Fitness. Morning is the only time allotted me for the news. Located in front of the elliptical machines are tv monitors. Two sets are dedicated to news, CNN and Fox News. Recently, after the election, the Fox’s set was tuned on CNN. Now, there are two sets on CNN showing the same program. My preference is Fox.After my work out, I was able to meet with the gym’s manager. I informed him there are two different sets showing the same CNN program, and, if there is a way to have one of the sets back on Fox. He sounds surprised and contempt by the request. He asked me with indifference: what’s wrong with CNN? Do I have something against CNN? And, someone asked for the second set also to be on CNN. It seems as if I were more of an annoyance by wasting his time. I do not have anything against CNN. My preference Fox. He took no action. I realized the decision and choice was his alone to make. So, every day I fester resentment working out at 24hrs fitness. There are other options I can choose besides 24hrs fitness. For convenience, Planet Fitness is located blocks from my house. And, I do have an exercise mat, weight bench, bars and dumbbells at home. With the pandemic, health risk is a prime reason to stay away from a fitness center. I choose to pay for a 24Hrs Fitness membership. Treating one’s customers with pure contempt is poor management and short sighted. It is not the way you retain loyalty.
Just wish the name of the company matched their actual hours or at least lower the cost of membership.
Staff is friendly, gym is well equipped for its size.
They don’t answer the phone so how can you get any information out of them?
I find it good, no heavy rush.
First of all they are not living up to their name which is 24 hour fitness. 2nd, they kick out people at closing time.
Very crowded and not enough space…have to literally be on ur neighbors face when stretching your arms…they need to get a bigger space 😕 have been on other locations which is better, but this ones crying out for space
I love 24h.
Very clean. Watched the staff clean and check the equipment.
I moved to Irving about 5 months ago, and the 24 hour fitness Valley Ranch location is a HUGE upgrade over the Fort Worth 24 hour location I used to work out at. They recently renovated the Valley Ranch location and it looks really nice! Their machines/equipment are relatively new. Their basketball court looks well kept (I play on it 2x a week). And I love how they have this turf area in the center of the gym for specialized training - it makes the experience super legit! I love to work out here!
Lady at the front desk was so rude and unwilling to help me because “I have to do all this and put you in the system” isn’t that your job. I just walked out definetly going to get a membership elsewhere.
Why are you not open!?... if not for Covid I would give 4 stars. Ive been working out my entire life and this gym is just fine. All of the 1 star reviews probably spend little time actually in the gym. The equipment is in good condition, the staff is friendly and the workout area is cleaned regularly. Unfortunately the locker room is pretty bad and should probably be renovated.
This place has it all to build your fitness and you get them within your budget. The variety of equipments on the premises is impressive. The staff is pretty amazing, professional and pretty cool. Its places like these that make shopping fun for all. You can go their with your friends and family and enjoy you fitness workouts. The hours of operation are pretty long and you get to enjoy the workout and move along in your quest to get that perfect body. It is a bit crowded on week ends and you may find parking a bit challenging but once you are through that a wonderful experience awaits you. A good thing to do before visiting would be to check what goals you are trying to achieve in terms of fitness. You can spend over an hour easy and not get bored just because there is so much to try out. I have seen people spend hours trying out all the equipment in here. They keep the premises clean and bright so that always keeps upscale feeling going. This place draws in the young and the old fitness enthusiasts alike as there is something in here for every one to try out. Happy time working out, crank it up guys !!
If you are a female, PLEASE be careful at this gym. I had a guy (20 something, foreigner, thick eyebrows, muscular), approach me while working out alone in the group x room on yesterday. He was clearly erratic and looking to pick a fight, all because of the fact that the lights were on in the group x room (yes, you read that correctly). When he realized that he could not intimidate me, his behavior got worse. I reported all of this in detail to the manger on duty before leaving, but just in case it was not taken seriously I also wanted to put an alert here. I shared my experience with another membership holder and apparently this guy has a negative reputation that proceeds him.
There is no way to give 0 stars. This is the worst place ever to workout. Over crowded most of the time. They don’t have Enough machines. Most machines they have are occupied by personal trainers. You have to wait for 10-15 mins to get the machine. Your 30 min workout became 1.5 hrs workout. The toilets are dirty and stinky. I would not recommend it to anyone.
It can get packed in the evening but there’s a good variety of equipment. The staff is fantastic and it’s as clean as a gym can be. Beats planet fitness for sure.
Probably one of the worst 24 hour fitness’ I’ve been to, old equipment and the staff is not that nice. Just always feels grimy and hot
Can never find retaining rings for bar bells. When I asked the person at the counter acted like it was a bother while surfing on her phone. Best stay away from here. Find a better gym. This one is terrible. Not what I am used too. Recommend Texas Family fitness. Equipment with problems is guaranteed to be back up in 3 days and never just sitting playing on the phone.
I appreciate the recent renovations but the bathrooms could still use a face lift. The toilets are disgusting, even by gym standards. They are in desperate need of replacing toilet seats and keeping things cleaner on a regular basis. Bathroom stall locks are hit or miss as well as to if they actually work/are connected to the door. If they could improve upon this aspect of things, it would definitely bring them up to 5 stars.
This gym used to be 24 hours, now its not.. Gym equipment is sub par. It gets crowded easily. The ENTIRE GYM smells like body odor. If you really want to get a whiff of it just sit in the sauna.. The only plus is the new power racks and platforms. The second plus is the clearance items with decent snacks.
I couldn’t even get past the front desk to check out their outdated equipment. They want proof of Irving residency even for a one day trial. Real bummer for somebody who just moved to the area and is looking for his new gym. I’ll take my money somewhere else that doesn’t treat their clients like migrants at a border crossing.
They changed the times of the gym so its no longer 24 hours this is horrible so many peoples schedules are affected and we pay monthly for this?? Ill be going to planet fitness and I recommend you should also
I moved and started going to this location ( I was using the Castle Hills location before) and its been a huge difference. No one at the front ever acknowledges me, which is okay whatever, but literally anyone could probably walk in cause they dont work. Also, pretty likely since this gym never has parking nearby cause its always super packed.Part of the reason I keep my membership is for the sauna and for the classes. Well their sauna needs repairs and smells horrible even when no one else is in there. I took a class and it got dangerous from all the sweat on the floor because they only have ONE small fan on one wall.I was frustrated to find out that they were closing the kids club for A WHOLE WEEK to replace the carpet. Is a whole week really necessary? But okay. So I come in BEFORE said repairs and the kids club has been shut down due to an accident. No one sent an email to members with kids club access. No new sign at the door. etc. I drive in a horrible storm to the gym, I wrangle my children in the rain through the entire parking lot and sign in and walk to the kids club. Its closed. About 7 or 8 employees were at the front desk and no one was like OH BY THE WAY... cause no one acknowledged me or pays attention. They just talk with each other and dribble basketballs. So now the kids club will be closed for two weeks. Another frustrated mother and I approach the desk wondering what the hell is happening and have to raise our voices to get anyone to notice us. This manager I already didnt appreciate just tells us casually that due to bodily fluids they are closed. Offers no alternative, no date, no credit to our account for a service we pay for, no apology.Previously I asked someone at the front desk for help removing someone from my family plan. He says I would need a manager and previously mentioned manager is right there by him. He lets me knows she can help me. She looks at him and kinda laughs saying shes going home. Doesnt look at me or say anything to me. Okay, go home. I really dont care, but how about kindly let ME know you will have someone come over to help me.I just wish all the 24 hour locations had the same level of service. This location gives it a bad rep.
The staff is very nice, and they have what you need. I lift there almost every day and Im getting fit because I work out hard. Period. I guess I dont need too much. A few of the lifting machines need something to be done. One of the leg extensions will really hurt your shins but the other is fine. They are limited on dumbbells which can be frustrating, especially in the 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5 range. Staff doesnt really do much to pick up and organize. There was once a Gatorade bottle and jacket left by the weights for a week. No one thought to do anything. But I like 24 hour overall, and I get a good workout when Im there. And thats what matters to me. The crowd is also pretty nice and tame between 11 am and 3.Dont go in the evenings- patrons are really douchey.
Super scammy. Sold me a membership to this gym which is currently closed for renovation. Even if it wasnt closed for renovation it is not well kept. When I called to complain they suggested I drive to another location in another city which is nowhere near convenient.and never mind the extra gas. Can anyone say refund?****Update****They told me they would give me a FULL refund within seven days and that I would hear from a manager at the actual gym. Called after the seven days lapsed and they told me they had notes on me getting any additional refund and they wouldnt be giving me anything. Treated me like I was lying. Advised I would be contacting my lawyer. Jokes on them, the call was recorded. My lawyer is currently preparing a suit. Oh and the gym is still closed for renovation. Get your exercise running away from these people!!!
Here visiting from Chicago and when I move down the line this is definitely the gym Im hoping to join. Very welcoming and understanding staff with machines in good condition. Also CLEAN!
Abysmal customer service experience. A friend who has a membership called and checked if he could bring me as a guest, and the front desk worker said yes, as long as I has not been to the club in the last 6 months. I hadn’t - it had been about a year.We get up there and the sales rep Courtney would not let me in because I had been to the club before. I told them I had not been there in almost a year, and he responded that he down me as coming in March. It is now January. I’m not sure if his maths skills are lacking, or he wasn’t aware what month it was, but according to my calculations that would make it 10 months - almost a year. The front desk worker who gave us the original 6 months time frame was also there and they still would not honor what we were told on the phone.Courtney stated it wouldn’t be fair to all the paying members to let me in for free - when it had literally almost been a year since I had been to the club. The only way I could get in was to pay $20. I had already driven up there, so I reluctantly paid.Courtney was also pressuring me to buy a membership and tried to pressure my friend to convince me to buy a membership. It was an awkward situation and I was actually considering buying a membership previously but I would not consider them after this. Overall It was extremely annoying and unprofessional - they have to be hurting financially based on this experience. Too bad there isn’t a Lifetime Fitness closer, I may have to deal with the farther drive but there is also an LA Fitness in the area I will look at. Your money is definitely better spent elsewhere.
This is literally the worst gym I have ever been to. Equipment is OLD and none of it follows the same branding. There are holes in the flooring that has not been repaired. Some machines dont work properly or the handle is starting to come off. It is ALWAYS packed. And NEVER clean. No one follows gym etiquette. The studio classes, however, are amazing. I have attended all the classes and all the teachers are kind and encouraging! The staff is ok, but nothing above and beyond. Shower curtains in locker rooms dont cover completely and are not well kept. I highly recommend finding a different gym if you can!
Equipment remains to be repaired for indefinite periods of time. We all pay enough to be members here for a service tech to come out. Low end low cost gym
Its great to have to location up and running again!
Very old equipment, which would be alright if it was maintained. Members seem to not care about cleaning after themselves- returning weights, and the staff seems to care even less. I’ve never seen a gym so poorly managed. This includes the make shift gym we had in Iraq. Have some standards. I do have to say the staff at the desk is friendly.
Pros: staff is nice and helpful. Cons: Equipment needs to be replaced/updated, gym needs be cleaned more often (way too many sticky surfaces), and it’s packed.
Gym is closed due to Covid19 but they are pretty happy about billing us. How is this even right?
I liked going here they were very nice and the people are very nice too that work out there .But now I have to work almost all the time now so I have to work out on my machines at home.Miss going to 24 hr in Irving .Maybe later will be able to go again.Great place Highly recommended..
Well planned out, rather clean, tons of equipment, areas nicely separated. Has basketball court, sauna/hottub/pool area. Big pluses. Regular personal trainers are there as well. The mens locker room doesnt seem to be cleaned nearly enough (always stinks) and this 24Hr is rather busy.
Stacie was the sub for the zumba class today her class is half salsa half hip hop. Will not recomend as a zumba instructor. Will not take the class again. Jason is way better. The room gets crowded and its hard to see the instructor but there are two assistants on each side of the instructor that dance along with ( him/her). These girls are really good too with zumba. Sometimes they fill in for jason and their class is good. The facilities look nice but always crowded no parking after 5 pm. If you are late to class yoi find yourself driving arpynd trying to catch some who is leaving the gym to get their parking spot. Restrooms, smell like sewer! Women dont flush the toilets papel all over extremelly dirty restrooms.
Clean workout center and friendly staff. They have a nice sauna and pool at no extra cost. Plenty of lockers in the Lockeroom. Decently new equipment. They have everything you’d really need.
I signed up for this gym because it was close to my apartment and work, but the lack of cleaning and outdated equipment really makes me not want to work out there at all. Machines or free weights are almost always in use bc someone or group is doing circuit training and cant let someone work in. The honest worst parts were the harassment by David (former employee) to get me to sign up and the complete disregard of certain gym members for not wearing shoes (sometimes no socks) on mats where people put their heads for sit ups. Ive seen one individual repeatedly work out on the mats barefoot and not clean afterwards, which left fellow members putting their face in his feet sweat. Gym employees will walk by and not say a thing either.
Pretty good facility and the staff is nice. It is always crowded though so be prepared to wait your turn on equipment.
Its nice not too cluttered and well maintained. the 24 hour people there are nice. but one thing is the club should be a little more brighter. its a little too dim so other then that its my top choice for sport ranged 24s
24 Hour Fitness needs to be open 24 hours.
I live it. Great machines
Its a 24 Hour Fitness ... not a $100+ a month boutique gym, not sure what peoples expectations are here. After reading the reviews I was extremely skeptical on checking out this location as Im a new resident to the Irving area looking for a new club to settle into. Reviews said dirty, broken machines, not friendly staff ... couldnt be more wrong! Staff was extremely friendly and I was even greeted as soon as I entered the door. Dirty?!? the place wasnt dirty at all. ITS A GYM. Cleaning up after yourself (weights included) by wiping down equipment goes a long way. There are a lot worse gyms out there. Sure, any gym might have a broken machine but just like any gym, think outside the box or use something different to hit the muscle you are trying to train. During the times Im there (wife + kid, 5 days a week easily), rush hour, b/w 5-8, place gets crowded, but not enough where you cant get a workout in and feel like everyone is on top of you. Cardio equipment during this time is always being utilized so plan accordingly. 3 squat racks, Smith, 2 cable machines stations, dumbbells up to 120, plenty of machines, large enough free weight area, separated cardio (upstairs), daycare (3.5 yr old) is even above par for a gym, green area to do some plyometrics, etc. If you are an avid gym goer, 15 yrs+ in the game, weekend warrior, or just starting out ... There is absolutely nothing wrong with the gym, if anything it might be the people based on these other reviews ... and no, I have no affiliation with 24 Hour Fitness. Go check the gym out for yourself.
Does the job. Dont need anything fancy. My complaints about this place is it is rarely clean or cleaned, Ive seen ONLY 2 staff member clean. Rarely is staff at the front desk to get signed in, ESPECIALLY Sunday. The guy that works Sunday, if he is not watching a movie and pays no attention, hes sleeping, if hes not sleeping somewhere.
Convenient location.Open 24 hours as the name states.Gets a bit crowded during evening hours.Staff is courteous enough.Equipment is mostly working with the ocassional breakdowns time to time.Membership is a bit expensive but sometimes there are good deals worth taking advantage off.Offers decent number of fitness classes and does have trainers available to hire for paid sessions.
24 hour fitness More like NOT 24 hour fitness, gym went from being open 24 hours to 12 hours without members consent nor did they even bother to send a notification out.. False advertisement in my opinion! Now were locked in this contract until next year...
Equipment and group classes are nice. But they will charge you more. Monthly charge will be approximately 35 to 40$ and they will charge you annual fee of 54$ per year, which they will not discuss when you join. It looks like it will be included in the form where we are signing. If suppose if you are adding your family members to your accounts, you need to pay annual fee for each family person of 54$ per year it seems, which they will not discuss when you add them. I have added my Mom in my account after confirming with relationship manager that there will be no other charges than monthly charges for my Mom and no other contracts, but they debited 54.11$ from my account.
Great gym really clean, staff is always super nice and responsive! Never any trouble with machines! Pool kinda small but everything else spot on.
This location has dated equipment and is terribly maintained. There are dirty paper towels throughout the gym, the pool is not cleaned and the basketball courts are slippery. I would not recommend anyone visit this gym.
They dont have punching bags or boxing equipment, but they are clean friendly and professional for a standard weights and cardio workout if thats what youre looking for. Convenient location.
I am liking it.. this is my 3rd Gym I have tasted so far.. after Golds gym, LA Fitness.. I have no complain except swimming pool which is a bit small .. has only two tracks..
Improved cleaning after renovation, however showers still need better upkeep. It could be as easy as 5min damp swifter over the locker room floors and spraying bleach based cleaner in showers over night when almost nobody is there. Not sure why this location failed to add WiFi after renovation like the one in Southlake. After few weeks of my original review I have to say that they have added a lot of cleaning staff during the day that are wasting their time cleaning the clean equipment while the locker rooms and showers remain as dirty as before, even ants went into my sport shoes while I was taking shower. This is my third edit of the original review and each time I have increased rating because I noticed improvements in shower cleaning.
If you are focused and know what to do, this place is good for getting your workout done. If you want to find a clean, things-in-order place for your workout, this aint it. I go early in the morning before work. Used papers towels and plastic water bottles on the floor is common. Not to mention all those miss matched weights on miss matched rack. Often I need to seek out what I need all over the place.
Its absolutely Great Gym! I recommend it.absolutely. great area.great parking lot. A lot of important and artists from Hollywood.come Here.!! Great atmosphere the Best Gym.
Very dirty place staff is lazy and never greet people. They always have a crappy attitude. I only go because I work half a block away so makes it convenient. I would recommend to anyone. Avoid this gym most 24hr gyms are pretty crappy though so try and avoid all together
I am from Cali and in Texas for a year-long contract. The guy at the reception wanted me to change my driver’s license to one from Texas to be able to try them out for a week. A copy of renter’s insurance or a an electricity bill from my place here in TX was not good enough for him as a proof of residency. I guess they have enough customers as they are obviously not eager to add new ones.
Excellent service. More than enough equipment, always in good shape. You have to opt for a more expensive month to month membership or a cheaper 2-year agreement.
Called to cancel membership, was told to either come in person or cancel at customer service number. Called customer service number and was kept on hold for 40 minutes and they hung up on me without any notice. Ridiculously rude and un courteous service!
If you like equipment that is broken and doesnt get fixed, this gym is for you: weight machines, water fountains, showers, steam room, etc. If you like staff that act like theyre doing you a big favor if you ask them to do the most basic thing, this gym is for you too. I would be embarrassed to work at a place like this. As it is, I do not work there; I just use it because it barely meets the requirements for a passable gym experience, and Ive been a member for almost 10 years. Congratulations, 24 Hour Fitness: you have aspired to mediocrity, and some day you might reach it.
I go around 7 in the morning and its a big gym with enough equipment where you arent waiting all the time. Thats a huge plus.Staff is super friendly and those touches are nice when youre dragging yourself to the gym in the mornings.I like the 3 platform squat racks for Olympic movements and the functional movement/plyometric space with sleds and kettlebells. They could use more kettlebell variety but not a major quip. The weight machines and cardio equipment are on the older end. That in itself isnt that big a deal except when the accessories like straps or harnesses for the sleds are worn and not being replaced. The shower/locker room is not kept clean enough. Shower curtains are not expensive; replace them when they get mildew on them. For 50 bucks a month for a franchise gym, that sort of maintenance doesnt seem like a big ask. Ive been to Planet Fitness before and theyre able to do it.
Eh. Its a gym. Gets the job done. Compared to other locations Ive been to, I feel this one is small. This location stays super crowded after working hours so be weary. Not the worst location Ive been to and not the best. Equipment is a bit on the older side but again it gets the job done. People at the front are friendly.
Dirty, equipment Is in horrible shape. The number of seated bikes has been reduced to 4 and only one from functions properly. I have spoken w/ staff only to be placated. Fix the problem.
It looked awesome but we didnt actually exercise... Turns out no racquetball court at this location. If you want to do that you have to go to the older 24hr on 183 and story.
There is a lot of cardio equipment. Only half of it works, but there sure is a lot of it. Does this location even have maintenance staff? I’ve seen the guy a couple times in the year that I’ve come to this location. Beyond that, there is a lot of members that are willing to share bodily fluids and smells with you at any given opportunity. They don’t clean up after themselves and don’t rack weights. I travel all over Dallas and I try to plan my day at the gym to match my work schedule. I often dread coming to Irving because I know what to expect before I ever even walk in.
This is a decent 24hr fitness. Clean and kept up. But its the only good gym in the area so it gets packed at peak times.
I have tried this place in the past and I hate their locker room, showers and overall atmosphere. I don’t go here anymore.
Not bad as 24s go. The usual amenities such as weights, machines and classes. No towel service. Newer and better maintained than the one on 183 at Story. Neither as new or as plush as Euless.
A little smaller, but clean and bright, good staff. Club too cold most of the time.
This place is nasty. I usually work out at the one in plano, and wow, this one looks a third world gym in comparison. The bathroom is mildewy, sticky, covered in gum... Its gross.I cant imagine showing there.... Come out dirtier that I went in.Oh,and its packed and stuffy.Wish it wasnt in such a convenient location.
Front desk staff is always friendly. Gym is somewhat clean. Machines are usually in good shape without the need of repairs.
Most days it’s crowded with people NOT working out. People on their phones while using the machines and the machine is not even on. People not being hygienic and cleaning/wiping after their use of an equipment. Men walking around, lurking and eye googling over women (though it seems some women are there for that attention as well). I know a gym is a where one can go to have a good sweat, but sweat doesn’t cause the bad body odor; it’s when someone doesn’t clean themselves regularly or properly. It smells like the inside of an ethnic restaurant when individuals walk by. KPOP wannabes walk around thinking they’re the star. Some of these “superstars” have their girlfriend tag along and make it seem like she’s a fan girl.Overall, just over crowded everyday.
Old equipment and funky setup with all of the cardio upstairs. The showers could use a reno, too. The basketball court and rims need fixing, too. There are dead spots on the floor under the rims - bounce isnt as pronounced elsewhere. The floor is constantly slippery/dusty, which means it needs a new coating and 3 of the 4 rims are busted.
Not a bad gym. Gets a little crowded when im there in the mornings, usually between 5:30 and 8:30. But I can always get my workout in. The free weights are downstairs, cardio machines are upstairs. They also have a basketball court, pool, hot tub, and sauna/steam room.
Horrible place. I am member of LA Fitness for last 4 years and only thing I didnt like about them was open hours during the weekends; which are 8AM. So, I wanted to try the 24 hour fitness and decided to signed up for 3 day trial. When I went to the 24 hour fitness, the manager was keep trying to make me to sign up for membership. I told him I already have the membership with LA Fitness and concern with their oepning hours; but willing to change if I like 24HR. I also told him even if I really like 24HR after 3 days of trial, I would have to wait a month before I can close the LA Fitness membership and move on to 24HR. He said he would only give trial membership to the people who is willing to join the club. I asked him how I can join the club without trying the facility. He said he will only give me 1 day trial instead of the 3 days and at that time was around 8PM. Which I already have done the work out in the morning and wanted to try the 24HR on following day mroning. He was so disrespectful and wasted my 20 minutes of my life for repeating same things. I just walkesd out. I would never suggest go to this place if you want the trial, just go to other locations or maybe consider different gyms. -5 stars.
This place has been on a downward slide for about 2 years now, since the previous club manager Israel Allen got promoted. These days, Valley Ranch 24 looks more like an abandoned Olympic park in Soviet Russia... The locker rooms are a constant mess (standing water and hair everywhere), everything with cables is curiously always Out of Service, employees are lazy/rude as can be, and if youre dumb enough to leave your stuff unattended even for a moment, its gone... If youre in this area and have to use 24HF (like me, corporate benefit), I recommend going to the Southlake or 183 location. Happy lifting!
Nice gym.
They shutdown the pool for 2 months and also gym will be closed for a month but kept charging me for membership. I understand construction can be nature of the business but claims to get a refund for a month was denied.
Ive join this gym at the beginning of the year..The only reason why I join this gym is because of the CYCLING GROUP CLASSES and now Im hearing that my cycling class will soon be canceling..The instructor Moni is Fantastic!!! I love the way she instruct her class. She have so many different techniques that she uses so everybody can feel like they are accomplishing whatever goal they are trying to set and also you dont feel intimadated from others...If Moni cycling class cancel, I will be cancelling my membership...I finally found a gym that is convenient for my travels and love my cycling class but if this happen, I will be FORCED TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP!!! SO PLEASE THINK LONG AND HARD ABOUT CANCELLING THE CYCLING CLASS!!!
Like other people say, management decided to shut down the entire gym for renovations FOR An ENTIRE MONTH!!!!!! . But they charged my account while I had to pay for a month membership somewhere else. They did mainly a cosmetic renovation on the walls/ branding, plus they took away at least two weight machines ( row machine and tricep dip machine) which were in ok working condition . Now you have the same, if not more people trying to workout with less machines = more wait times. Yikes!I spoke today to manager Chris and he told me, those machines are gone for good. No plans to replace them.Compared to LA fitness ( direct competitor), weight machines and anything for lifting weight is very outdated/ worn. They have one lat pulldown where honestly Im afraid of the belt to snap because it looks very worn.On top of that, the lock pin that sets the weights is sometimes missing. So you need to be on the hunt for one. That is very cheap for them to replace but we have been missing at least one PIN for months.I Recommend them to put a tag /ID on every machine so we can report a malfunction to front desk, the same way LA fitness of McArthur does. The number of Press benches are way less than LAs. And they are not as comfortable/ ergonomic. They only have ONE declined press bench.Yes, like other reviewers say, The restrooms are not clean and one day I couldnt find toilet paper at all in any of the restrooms. The pool is smaller size ( 2 Lanes ) vs 3 Lanes in LA fitness. The good side of them ( I only do weight lifting there):- they are open 24 hours.-reasonably big set of dumbbells- they have basketball, classes( like yoga) included.- I cant speak for the threadmill/elypticals because Id rather run or skate outdoors.- they are closer to my home --if you are into (Im not) clean, jerk, and all that crossfit kind of stuff, they added 3 new stations and added another open rugged area.Overall I give it a two star rating as it barely does the job for me as a weight lifter.
My trainer was Amazing she did such a great job i have to brag! AMY JINES, She helped me out a lot taught me things i didnt know and motivated me by txt in mornings and night and gave me results She is GREAT!!!
This place sucks, dam near everything is broken.. it barely has any of the good machines.. I thought based on location this place would be better, but I clearly thought wrong 👎🏾👎🏾
Its a great clean place. Never had any problems there.
Before moving a month ago, this was my gym. I never had any issues with the staff, and maybe one or two staff members seemed to not be happy with their jobs. They still executed okay customer service though... I like the setup of the gym. First level for mainly weights, personal training, along with the basketball court, pool, sauna and steam rooms, and locker rooms. The upper level is the cardio area which over looks the lower level. I mainly use the cardio. If you go during rush hours, mornings before work, lunch time, and after work starting at 5:00 you will be waiting for a machine. Half the machines didnt work... However, the last time I went there were a handful that were tagged to be finally replaced. The restrooms were kept clean for the most part, but every now and then they would get disgusting. So basically going to this gym was a hit or miss depending on who was working, what time of the day, and what machines were working. Thats why I give this location 3 stars.
Lots of equipment and well laid out. Can get very crowded in the afternoon/evening. Inadequate a/c in the locker rooms makes it difficult to dress for work after a morning workout.
Economical and good to work out, its 24hrs opens so thats plus, sometimes crowded but its economical so more people gonna come thats so obvious. they fix broken machines within few days.
Basketball court - of the 4 baskets, one is missing a hoop altogether, and the 2 that comprise the full court are wobbly. The floor is dangerously slippery and simply neglected.
