Fat Joe’s is the way to go! The team is super efficient, kind, and professional. Everyone I talked to had a great attitude and did everything they could to help. I needed to get my transmission looked at after a different shop told me it would be $2400 to fix. Fat Joe’s found the root of the problem which happened to only be a minor leak and a sensor needed to be replaced. They fixed these issues in only a few hours, and kept me updated through the whole process. Going to Fat Joe’s saved me so much money. I only had to pay $400. They are such an honest and reliable shop. I will definitely be returning!

I’m currently on leave from the Navy to pick up my car. I have only 3 days to get my car ready to to hit the road back to Virginia. Fat Joe’s set me up for success. They were able to replace my windshield and repair some minor body damage all in one day. They also fixed some sensor issues prior to me coming down and did an overall check on my car. Long story short they are the real MVP’s and I couldn’t thank them enough for all of the timely help. Now I have the rest of my leave to enjoy and not worry about my car.

Fat Joes is a small, down-to-earth shop thats family owned, fairly priced, friendly, and helpful.Im not auto savvy, and came in due to my car making a loud grinding noise when I drove at low speeds. Turns out I had warped my brakes. I was impressed when owner took thirty minutes politely explaining the mechanics of the issue, how to prevent it from happening in the future, and other tips for prolonging the life of my new brakes.They gave the papers, printed out a helpful list of tips for me to follow while driving, did a complimentary tire rotation and oil life check, and sent me on my merry way. No overpriced upselling, no nonsense, just good service!

Fat Joes is hands down the best repair shop in Irving.They have repaired several of my vehicles thanks to their versatility and decades worth of expertise.Ive seen them work on bare engine rebuilds, transmission rebuilds, electronics diagnostics, diesel mechanics, computer programming and antique/ hotrod projects just to name a few.I have yet to find another shop that can accomplish all these repairs in house.Hats off to Joe and his team for always delivering A1 service.Thank you

My card started making a loud noise as I got off the highway on my way to my new job this morning. Saw the great reviews for Fat Joes so took my car over during my lunch break. Let me tell you they were wonderful! They knew I was on my lunch hour on just my second day of my new job so took my car in right away. They suspected what the problem was from what I explained. Not only were they were right on, but easily made the repair and then didnt charge me. Wow! Awesome service and very nice front office owners. I now know why they get all the great reviews they do. I had a radiator hose burst. Fortunately, I was in close proximity to Fat Joes Auto & Transmission Repair. I pulled in and even though their appointments were booked up for 4 days in advance, they were kind enough to take a look at it for me while I got a bite to eat at the Braums next door. Imagine my surprise when I came back to find my vehicle completely repaired with coolant added - all at no charge. This is truly a unique experience for me. They have turned me into a HUGE fan. Awesome group of people.

They rebuilt my 2015 chevy suburbans transmission. They rebuild transmissions in house. I am very satisfied with the work and service. The work came with 1 year/12000 miles warranty. Small independent automotive shops such as Fat Joes Auto are generally more competitive due to lower overhead.

I am disappointed to say, I would NOT recommend Fat Joe’s Auto & Transmission Repair.CAUTION: They (1) overcharge and (2) will recommend work that doesnt actually fix the vehicle.My family and I have attempted to use them three times to fix three different vehicles. We like to support local businesses and they are close to our home. Unfortunately, we now know, all three times, we were overcharged and recommended work that did not fix the problem. If you do decide to use them, I would recommend searching the actual price of the part before blindly agreeing to the cost. An employee admitted to me this afternoon that they upcharge on the parts to generate revenue. They get their inventory from a company called NAPA.Most recently, I came to Fat Joes because my check engine light came on. They determined my upstream and downstream O2 sensors needed to be replaced. Even though they recommend both, they only repaired my upstream sensor. The total cost to repair only the upstream sensor was $443, $69 in labor and $335.29 for the part. When I searched the part on NAPA, the cost ranged from $70-110. Charging over 3 times the cost of the part is excessive. If this would have fixed the problem, I would most likely not even be writing this review. However, two days later, my check engine light came on again. When I went back to Fat Joe’s, they ran another test and determined that there was an additional problem(s) which they kindly offered to diagnose and fixed for more money! I am unsure why they did not rerun the test to confirm my vehicle was actually fixed before returning it to me the first time.

My car started overheating this morning on the way into work. Of course I’m panicking about how I’m going to get home. My people are all back in Austin. I had an awesome experience at Fat Joes. I came in Tuesday and made an appointment for Friday to fix my AC. I was treated with respect and was given an estimate that was fair. They kept me up to date with what was wrong and fixed it within a couple hours. If you want honest, family owned quality service then come here to get your vehicle fixed.

These guys did a great job on my car and its the only place I have gone to for repairs for years. They go out of their way to get all my work done for me on time. I dont trust any other mechanic to work on on my vehicles.

I have been taking my various cars to Fat Joes for repair work for years. Their prices are much lower than dealerships. They get the work done quickly. They do not try to get you to have work done that is not necessary like other shops do. Overall I am very pleased with their service. Dont waste your money on overpriced dealership services.

I have been going to Fat Joes for three years. They have done excellent work on my 2002 Lexus SC430 and my 2015 F250. The prices are very reasonable and the people are friendly and professional. Do not waste your time. Take your vehicle to Eagle Transmission & Auto Repair instead. Theyre right down the street and they provide excellent service and pricings. They even give free quotes and diagnostics... Fat Joes charged $110 just for the diagnostic test.

Fat Joes Auto is conveniently located on a main street and is easy to find as it isnt difficult to see as you drive by. There are two gentlemen in the office (one is Fat Joe himself) and they are both polite and professional. I only needed a state inspection so service was fast. I dont like the fact that they drive your car around to the back and you cant see whats being done to your vehicle because the front garage doors are almost always closed. Again, the wait was not long at all (approximately 30 minutes). They also provide tune ups, oil changes, tire rotation, and they claim to be experts in transmissions. Their prices are competitive. Their office is neat and clean. They have a chunky pet bull dog behind the counter who isnt intimidating at all. Hes actually kind of funny because of the way he stares at you as your being serviced. The visit was pleasant and I have no problem recommend them to everyone.

Extremely honest, I came in from another shop that was going to replace my power steering pump because there was fluid around it and I thought to myself make sense, luckily I did not have time to complete the work at that shop. I took it to Fat Joes and they checked it out! I was expecting to pay 400+ for the repair and they called and said it was just a hose. I will definitely be back for more work trust and honesty are hard to come by. Highly recommend. Thank you Joe!!

SUPER SERVICE!!!I moved from NY a few months ago and needed to find a place with a reliable staff. I happened to look at places near my office and was lucky enough to find Fat Joes. They are a family owned business with a hard working and honest crew. Ive been there a couple of times already and Joey has always been awesome. They get the work done fast and accurately. I had to stop in there for a quick fix on some tubing for my windshield wipers and they did it on the house in 2 minutes. You just dont get this kind of service at the chain shops. Great work guys!! If I ever need a service place to go to, Fat Joes is the one!

I had two different used cars I took to them for years and they always did the best work and were always reasonably priced and never tried to push anything unneeded (they past my test when they told me I still had over 50% of the rear pads and to only replace the front brake pads). I even took my brand new Jeep Rubicon to them and had them put on a custom cat back exhaust I bought. I saw another jeep there that they were doing some customizing to as well. So once my warranty is out Ill be taking my jeep to them for all my mechanic needs. Great family business and have trusted them for 8 years with my vehicles.

This shop is AWESOME! I drove in with a flat tire on my freinds vehicle and they changed it for me right away without charging me anything! You probably don’t think that’s a big deal right? But guess what...this isn’t even a tire shop!! They had me back on the road 10 minutes after I pulled up. This is the type of place I would definitely want repairing any issue I have on my vehicle. I first came to Fat Joes when the transmission in my car needed to be rebuilt. I searched for the closest transmission shop and here I was. Aside from the good pricing, the hospitality I received here was beyond anything Id ever received from a mechanic shop. It was the first time I had taken my car somewhere and felt like the people there really genuinely cared about making sure my issue was taken care of. Fast forward a year or two later and they are the only people I trust with my car and I mean I genuinely entrust them with my car. What a fantastic experience! A family-run business to the core - and family-conscious as well - these fine folks told it to me straight, got the best deal for me they could on parts, and double-checked their repairs before I left. When they found a problem with one of the parts they installed, they replaced it immediately at no extra charge - on the same day! These are definitely my go-to guys from here on out.

Deceptive & disrespectful. quoted me over $1,000 for parts and labor. said the parts were over $700 because they only use Napa parts. i step out & called Napa because i already did my research & knew about how much & this was no where near. Napa said the parts were $490. i ask this guy how they came to the price he said they are an authorized Napa dealer and upcharge 20%. i said but what you are telling me is $100 over 20% where is the extra charge coming from & he said u can take it somewhere else.
