Never answer the phone I applied in June and got denied based on credit which is understandable but they never refunded the deposit. It is now September and every time I do talk to someone they say let me message corporate it been a month since I last talked to someone these apartments are a scam!!!! You will never get any money back they might as well say on their applications that deposits are non refundable. Way to run a apartment complex. Thats why the reviews are the way they are now.
Cant get a hold of anyone in the office anymore since new property took over. Been having an issue paying rent online. Cant call to let anyone know about a work order since they can’t seem to pick up the phone. Put a work order in and didn’t receive help for two weeks probably because whoever is in office doesn’t know what they are doing because usually Maintenance does a great job but what’s going on with the people in the office can’t seem to get the gym open other than office hours which seems inconvenient for people who work and want to use the utilities that come with the property. Just overall dissatisfied with this property.
My partner and I just moved from Austin and are so lucky to call this place home!! We were looking for a great deal and our expectations were surpassed here!!Darian, who works in the front office is one of the nicest, most supportive, and professional leasing agent we have ever worked with. He made the process comfortable and smooth! He definitely needs a raise!!This property is clean and very well maintained. They have a strong maintenance team. We also have an app forum where the community can communicate and keep each other updated. The community is very friendly and respectful.
Ask for Becky or Ron when you call. They will get you in an apartment that day or the next!! They will work with you!
Darian from the front office is the BEST!! He was very professional and respectful! He explained everything throughly..... He understood my situation and got me approved in less than 24 hours!! I would highly recommend!!!!!
They never answer the phones I been calling tryin to lease an apt
They are an awesome place to live! They are so quick with helping when anything is wrong for me.
The staffs are so rude, and they don’t come to fix things unless you call countless of times and sometimes they don’t even show up. I rather pay for something expensive with better staffs than stay in this apartment.
Darian knob worked hard and with me so I can get me an apartment
Our air-conditioning has been broken since late July. The average temperature since July in Dallas has been 93.66 degrees. Weve called in countless times and in typical Tower Village style, we pretty much never heard back for them. Then we discovered something that we thought would solve all our problems: the emergency wok order line. This seemed like our manna from heaven. Over the course of the next few months, we called this line so much that I put it on my speed-dial. The service was always the same; a service crew would come out, mumble about freon, poke around and leave. Then we’d rejoice and enjoy glorious AC blowing through our hair for about 3 days before our “premier amenities” decided to quit on us. This has been happening since June. We finally got lucky enough to have a new unit installed on Monday, 9/26. This lasted a long 5 days before breaking down. As a result, in addition to paying full rent on a “home” we could hardly live in, our electric bill has been through the roof every month. We’ve not only had to buy industrial fans to try to stay alive, but we’ve also had to leave our beautiful home to sleep on friends’ couches at night. We have a call in right now to the emergency line and I am crossing my fingers that they actually do their job this time around because I would hate to have to spend my time reaching out to Pace Realty if this issue is not resolved.
I just moved into Tower Village Apartments. The main floors are all redone with a wood look vinyl floor and the kitchen counter tops are resurfaced. All the walls are nicely painted. The bedrooms have carpets that were recently cleaned. I have a great view of the pond. The complex is a little old but the updates are very nice. I am a student at the University of Dallas and the location is perfect. It is an easy walk to campus or the train station. The process of renting went very well. I was able to do all the paperwork by email and over the phone. It was made real easy. I will post again later once I have been living here awhile.
Of all the apartments we looked at, Tower Village is the most affordable for the amenities provided, along with a sense of security. The office staff has been very helpful and handled everything in a timely manner. We have no complaints about the move in process, except one and that is there are no washer and dryer hookups in the units. BUT there are several laundry facilities in the complex. Overall we are satisfied with our move in process and enjoy our new place!
This apartment complex is conveniently close to the University of Dallas. The maintenance crew is always prompt when contacted. Our refrigerator went out one evening and after letting them know that same day, they then brought us a brand new refrigerator first thing the next morning. Every one in the front office is extremely helpful. It is the first apartment I have stayed in and so far I am very pleased.
They were very helpful in the office on moving in. The apartment complex, as a whole, has a nice look-- there are trees and grassy areas, as well as, a pond. It is a great place to be-- this is not the kind of place that has made a home for a particular class of people, rather it is full of diversity! It is truly the Noahs ark of apartment complexes! No matter who you are, or what your background is, you will find a perfect fit here- whatever your race, creed, color, hobbies, occupation, you will find yourself in a utopia at Tower Village.
All of them go out of their way to ensure your needs are being met. They may be unreachable via phone, but when you go inside the office they are very helpful. They have stuck with me each and every step of the way until I finally got the keys to my apartment here. Im happy with everything, so far.
I definitely have enjoyed living here. The location is great and highways are available in every direction. I like that its an isolated residential community with no unwanted guests or extra traffic in the area. The office and maintenance personnel are courteous and helpful. I wish there was more visitor parking.
This place is everything we could have hoped for, we just moved in but can tell this place is fantastic. The management is very attentive and kind, and will go out of their way to help you. The apartment itself is very well built and offers a lot of space. It is also very affordable but offers a lot more for the price than you would expect.
I believe Tower Village Apartments is a good place to live for a couple of reasons. One reason is the location and this place is perfect for commuting in Irving and Dallas in General. I am less than one mile from major cross highways. Also, the leasing office staff are very friendly and they show that they care.I have searched few places before I moved in here and this place stood out. In short, reasonable rent, great customer service, and a renovated apartment makes this place the right place for me.
I been here since December 2016 and it has been my best experience. They have the best apartment layouts and maintenance is on point. The office staff is the number one tho =] you will love coming to the office friendly.
I went to rent an apartment here and thought I would be restricted because I am new to US and dont have any social security. But I was wrong. The staff there explained me all the possibilities of leasing an apartment with them and with some little formalities and paperwork I was approved for the apartment. I was helped by Jackson on my leasing process and explained me everything in detail.Tower Village is a good place to live at with all the amenities. It offers spacious apartments with competitive prices and is landscaped beautifully. I am satisfied with my apartment and is a pleasant experience to be here.
From the moment my roommates and I walked into the office, we were helped by Shelina. She has done a great job helping us get all the paperwork done before we left off to our homes during the summer. If you help her get what she needs, shell help you get everything done smoothly! So far so good :)
Really convenient parking complex across the street from University of Dallas. The 3 bedroom apartment is the one I lived in, and it is pretty roomy. Overall my stay at Tower Village was all right!
For the money, it is typical. Just dont expect maintenance to fix anything (they might come, but wont fix anything, $300 for AC should be expected, 3 fixes to the dishwasher and still doesnt work), or to get any deposit money back, consider yourself lucky if they dont charge you extra beyond your deposit for anything they feel they can get away with. That said, everyone in the office is kind and helpful.
Based upon my interactions with the management, Tower Village seems to a good place to live. As as student at the University of Dallas nearby, this option will end up being a lot cheaper than living in the Student Apartments on campus, which will help out financially a lot. As I have not yet moved in to an apartment, I cannot comment on the nature of the rooms, but they seem like they should work well for a college student. Pest problems have been mentioned in several other reviews, but I am willing to bet that prompt reports to the management at Tower Village will result in a fix of the problems, as well as properly taking care of your apartment. After I move in, I intend to update this review, but until then I would recommend this location as a good place to live.**Update: As of 08/18/2016**After moving into our 3 bedroom apartment, there are several things that can be noted. Our particular apartment has a slight lean to it, which takes a little bit of getting used to, but most apartments do not have this. Unfortunately, upon moving in, our apartment was not ready for our arrival, and while it did take a day before we could move back in, the staff at Tower Village promptly responded to our problems and did refund us a day off our total rent. The room size is fairly good, and nearly everything works. The one main issue is that there arent an lights provided in the main rooms, so only the kitchen and bathrooms are lit, while lamps must be bought to provide light for the other bedrooms. Other than that, I expect that this apartment will serve well for a cheaper living space than other locations.
When I was searching for my new home, I came across Tower Village. They have been unreachable via phone, but in person they were very helpful & friendly. They helped with the application process in a timely matter. There have been college parties here and loud noises. Most of the residents here are college students. That doesnt bother me. Im just glad that I can come home at night and not worry about anything. Parking used to be an issue but theyve cracked down on that so parking is great now. There have been countless issues with the apartment. Their new maintenance employee, Scott was able to fix them all that the previous maintenance employee couldnt. Normally, it would take a day or maybe fifteen minutes after putting in a request for maintenance. I appreciated that a whole lot. Since I live on the first floor, there have been water bugs. There have been flooding in my apartment twice, but it was all attended to within a day. My lease is ending soon and Im transferring to another apartment within the apartment complex. Im happy here and will be signing a new lease for another year. This time I will be on the second floor. Shalina, Lauren, and Jessica have been amazing working with me. They also answer the phones now. Major improvements within this apartment community so come reside with us!
I moved into Tower Village in August 2016 and moved out in May 2017. During the first few months maintenance requests were filled in a timely manner. However, later I put in maintenance requests for a shower faucet and a leaking fridge ceiling. Neither of these maintenance requests were fulfilled from the time that they began to the end of my lease. I even took a video of my leaking fridge by to the office staff and showed it to one of them. However, the fridge was never fixed and neither was the shower faucet. While office staff was friendly and helpful on move in, after a while maintenance requests were not fulfilled. Therefore, Tower Village: not recommended.
They are definitely working to make the complex better. The only problem is that it was so horrible to begin with that they have a lot of work to do. The pool is nice! And so is the new playset that they built. However the sand volleyball court was just an all around stupid idea. With the open space like that you guys could have planted trees and made a garden. Its become a litter box for the stray cats that live in the complex.IF you guys are able to have the main gates working then I would consider giving you a higher rating but they are always broken. And when I see a large metal gate that cannot stay still while I am driving through it, I naturally get concerned. The apartments are cheaply made and I am constantly seeing Irving Police here. Just felt that I should end with that.
Great place to live in! Always on top of things. Staff is always so friendly. Close to everything. Very satisfied with our move in process and enjoying our new home!!
Nice and peaceful community. Good staff. Reasonable amount of rent charged. Clean and green compounds. Nice amenities like laundry, mail box etc.
Tower Village apartments provides affordable housing for college students at North Lake Community college or the University of Dallas. The housing is perfect to room with a few mates. The management was very helpful, and I was impressed with their flexibility.
Overall, the experience has been great. The only complaint so far is the loud noise at night, but hopefully, they will have this under control soon. I just dont understand why people sleep all day and want to disturb others while they are sleeping at night. I value my sleep just as well as the next person. I will have security on speed dial.
The management is a hodgepodge of people who have no business being in the hospitality industry. They talk to you like you are a third grader, and have no consideration for their residents. They will do the best the can to sell you on all the new updates, but the apartments are still a sinkhole with a poor foundation. Our stove was broken since we moved in. We filed work orders for months until we went into the office and demanded that it was fixed. Instead of fixing the stove, the sent a notice that they had fixed the stove on a day that I had been in the apartment all day. That is to say, the stove is still broken as we move out. The only reason they can get away with being this inadequate at their jobs is because Tower Village is the only affordable apartments around the University of Dallas. If you can afford to live somewhere else, do it. I would rather sign my soul to the devil then sign a contract with Tower Village Apartments.
I cant wait to live here. Just going through the paper work process it seems everything thing is working out very fine.😀 And very impressed by the kindness and understanding of Lauren Dunn whos handling my application.
This place is just barely okay and heres why.Pros: quiet apartments, you dont get bothered, and affordable/ close by laundry.Cons: management is terrible. I moved in August and still have not had the A/C & heater fixed (now February). They keep telling me theyre working on it but nothing has gotten fixed. Also the carpet sticks terribly. Another Con includes a $100 rent increase at the end of our lease to renew. This is more than it would cost to be a new resident.Things that youll find at any apartment include limited parking and far walks to throw away garbage.
It Is A very nice place to live for kids,We were Very excited When we first came.we still like it and there is cookies for FREE!!! +There is a nice pool that Is VERY FUN for kids.
Dont let the advertised rent price fool you, they charge $80 to $100 for the water bill per month on top of the rent and thats for 2 people only on the lease. And we do not use that amount in water, but about 3 or 4 years ago when they started watering the landscape our water bill jumped up another $40 to $50 a month on top of the $35 and it never went back down to $35 a month, what they use to charge. Now they are talking about including renters insurance at $60 to $100 a month on top of the rent price and we pay only $28 dollars a month for renters insurance, this place is a rip off.
I ended up not living here because they didnt have anything in my time frame but Lauren was really nice and knowledgeable. It was pretty and the people seemed nice.
I feel that the Tower Village staff has really stepped up their game recently. I never have to wait very long to meet with someone in the office, and the staff is always able to help me with what I need. The improvements to the public areas are a nice touch.Plus, as a UD student, Im saving a bunch of money by living here rather than on campus.
I have lived here for almost 2 years, and have loved every day. Before Tower Village, we would literally move apartments every year looking for a complex that actually cared for their residents. Upon discovering Tower Village, we were positively blown away with the individual attention and genuine care of management. The process of finding the right apartment for my family was painless and quick. Since then, we have gladly been able to call Tower Village home. Below is a summation of the Pros and Cons:Pros:Nice ApartmentsCaring ManagementBeautiful landscapeAffordable, and in a great neighborQuick response time from maintenanceSafe area for children with constant patrolGreat playgroundBeautiful pond, fishing is allowedGreat swimming poolExcellent meeting roomEnergy efficient apartmentsNice appliancesThick concrete walls- meaning very little noiseCons:Sliding closet doors1st floor can get pretty cold due to concrete floor- this can easily be fixed with a rugTWC is the only option for InternetOverall a fanatic complex!!
The apartments are pretty much inhabited by students. They are priced reasonably, but do not expect updated fixtures. Shelina, the manager, was very helpful in getting our lease into order. Do note that there are some issues, like bugs (ants and cockroaches) and no lights in the bedrooms.
UD Parents do not allow your kids to live here. My daughters apartment was termite infested. They have had to condemn a quarter of the building because the city says that they are falling down. The staff is the RUDEST people that we have ever spoke with. When you pay your rent you have no idea what you are paying because they do not give you a bill and there is no online site to verify what you are paying.**DO NOT RENT FROM HERE** pay the extra money to live in nicer community and respectful staff
This place is so trashy. There’s so many mechanical, foundational issues, insulation issues, appliance issues,The gates haven’t worked even tho they made it a priority at first. It’s really old and falling apart.Ceilings have cracks galore. Floors have obvious cracks beneath the old carpets. The cabinets have no magnets or locks- they don’t stay shut period. The plumbing is old so expect leaks and broken toilets. The appliances are dated and smell of gas. It’s never comfortable especially in the harsher seasons- temperature wise. Bills for electricity were $145-$225/month as a result. The issues were never resolved. Water was also too high as well. This place will take every living dime out of you.The guy who fixes stuff literally said to use a “fan” even he admitted it was a lost cause. There’s roaches.Obnoxious parties. For the price, you’d expect better-.. they blow all the money on extra “amenities” to make it look luxury when it’s not. It’s cheap and gross. You can’t put lipstick on a pig!The truth quickly unfolds the more you live there...they won’t show you the place before you move in!They have no website for their place. They do NOt offer student discounts or low income discounts because according to Jennifer it’s just too much paperwork for tax purposes...To them, they just wanna take your money and go!I do NOT recommend this place to students or anyone for that matter.Parents-Please consider other options. Jennifer Rader and Becky Jones are running this place to the ground.shanice has no idea what’s going on half the time.
Enrique, who does maintenance at Tower Village, is wonderful and very helpful! The faux-wood floors theyve put in to replace some carpet is a huge improvement– hopefully they eventually have it in all parts of the apartments. The online portal used to make payments is not the most user-friendly though.
This is my first time renting an apartment and so far the experience has been great. The office staff is understanding and knowledgeable and has walked my though step by step what I need to do to call Tower Village home.
All in all, my experience living here has been really nice so far. Ive been here since March 2014 and the majority of the staff has been very friendly, eager to help, and prompt to respond. The apartments have made a lot of improvements lately from fixing pot holes and sidewalks to installing a child play place, and a sand volleyball court. You can tell the apartments are all freshly painted. They are older units but have been overall well maintained. The bottom line is, you cant beat the value here; for the amount of space you get the price is unbeatable. Yes the units may be a little older and therefore arent brand new but I had new carpet when I moved in and fresh paint on everything. A few of the interior amenities in my apartment could stand to be updated but overall everything has been very satisfying and Im happy with living here.Another great plus is it is located in an area that is near a convergence of highways (but isnt so close you hear noise / are effected by traffic) so it is really easy to quickly hop on a highway and head to any area of the metroplex in DFW. It also is in a quiet area across the street from the University of Dallas campus and is in walking distance to beautiful parks and a Dart train station (there also is a bus for the train station). For the affordable price you spend you get a great experience. Also in response to other negative reviews, I have not had any problems with bugs or roaches at all. And my neighbors havent bothered me at all.
This is a long review, but if youre considering living here, you need to know all this information first. This is just a summary of what we spent hours and hours and hours dealing with in the 4 months we lived here. This place is awful, and its not worth it, no matter how cheap it is. First of all, the apartment was dirty when we moved in, and the cabinets were painted shut. Then when we moved out, they charged us cleaning fees from our deposit, despite the fact we spent hours cleaning! The lady basically told me that if they cant move a new renter in right away, theyre going to charge you a cleaning fee, even though most apartments consider cleaning between tenants a cost of business. The interior had shoddy workmanship and no ceiling lights except the kitchen and bathroom, so we spent a lot of money on lamps and a lot of time tripping around in the dark to get TO our lamps. The sinks didnt drain and the toilets didnt flush, and the windows and doors werent sealed well so utilities were very high. They charged us $100 to move in 2 days early (even though it was their error with our move-in date that made us have to), then had workers in and out those days because they werent ready for us.The workers left our doors and windows wide open in the heat of the summer, using our utilities. Also, the air conditioner was broken in August and it took weeks of complaining before they did anything.Another big thing is the college students. Many groups of them party all night every night, and the ones near us smoked so much weed that it made OUR apartment stink. We had to tell guests to our home, Sorry about the weed smell; its the kids below us. Theyre loud and keep you up at night, and the police come out all the time but it makes no difference. Also, the apartment has a noise hotline, but they never once answered it or called me back. The students even locked themselves out once and broke into their own apartment in the middle of the night, waking me up to shattering glass. Thats scary! Then theres the legal loopholes. We signed a lease August-December, but their short-term leases are 3 months, and they tried to raise our rent $100 that last month. They cited some fine print on page 5 of the lease as their legal grounds, and we had no recourse except that luckily they had made a typo on a notification. Watch them closely, and dont let them rush you through signing the lease like they did with us (if you still decide to live here).Plus the mail. We had more packages lost in the 4 months here than in our entire lives before. They just hand you off to the post office, who says they left it at the apartment office, and it goes back and forth like that for weeks. One of our packages didnt turn up for months, and then one day it did. Not to mention, it took a month before they made us mail keys. When we moved out, they tried to charge us for a missing gate opener, when in actuality it was turned in and buried under the mess in the office. They did charge us for cleaning, despite the dirty mess it was when we moved in.The only good things are the price and the fact they tow cars if they dont have stickers, so theres always parking. However, if you need to use a different car for a few days, good luck getting a temporary pass, even if youre a resident. They ask you questions about why you changed cars before theyll write you a pass.
I moved in this week and so far i really like it! It seems like a nice place to live! The apartment inside is pretty nice! Also the staff is very helpfull, nice and friendly! Shelina helped us with the moving process. She made it easy and fast! Hope to enjoy my stay here in Tower Village!
This place is horrible. Had worst experience living in Dallas for school. Cockroaches everywhere and something is always broken. Avoid this place as crime has increased and there was a shooting last year here a week before I moved out. They also charged me $100 when I didnt return the parking sticker that I had on my windshield for two years and the Texas heat crumbled it to pieces when I was taking it off to return it. Pay a little more and move elsewhere. The insulation is horrible in the apartment and in the winter your heater will be on all day and night thus increasing your electricity bill. Its convenient but for your safety and sanity look elsewhere.
I have Tower Village to be a good option for living. It is conveniently located next to University of Dallas. But it isnt just used because its the only off-campus option for students. Theres a lot of non students who choose to live here too.
I have had a nice first week living in the tower village apartments. The best part of the complex is the close proximity to nearby interstates and the University of Dallas. While the apartments are old, they are cozy and affordable. Marqueta at the leasing office explained our lease in great detail and was very cordial. The application process was a bit of a pain because the computer system crashed twice during the process which lead to unnecessary complications regarding our down payment and security deposity
I really like that apartment. But the maintenance guy Scott and Shalina Musani and Lauren is very nice. When I first call or came into the place Lauren always have a smile on her face. The place is great.
U of D parents - DO NOT RENT HERE! I know the location is ideal, but is a very dangerous complex. There were multiple ARMED break ins during my students living in the complex. University of Dallas will do NOTHING to assist regarding concerns and the management doesnt care. And further more the tenants are not allowed to add security measures to the doors or windows without being fined. They treat the students as stupid and disregard complaints until parents get involved. Who doesnt repair a broken AC unit when its 104 outside for six weeks? I hope Scott is a new hire and more helpful The other tenants are section 8 and intolerant of the students anyway. Stay on Campus or try to locate a nearby house for multiple renters but stay away from this dangerous complex. Esp. Females.
Close to the University I go to. Staff is helpful. Place could be maintained a little better.
The management seems to be trying really hard to make the complex a better place to live. I heard many horror stories from the past, but Ive found it a comfortable place to live on a budget. The new improvements look great!
Living here for school. Definitely not the nicest place: broken lights and locks, limited electrical outlets, and so on. But still, its not a bad apartment, and so far maintenance has been helpful.
Ive been here for almost 10 years. I love the new office staff. When i need something done maintainence is quick to respond. I recommened this property to my family and friends. Ten thumbs up!
Its 32 degrees outside my heat went out called Maintenance got a call back 45 mins. Later from the office telling me they dont know when they can send someone this place keeps getting worst everyday cant wait for my least to be up
The women working in the office are rude. The apartments are infested with ants and termites. Be sure to list every broken thing when you move in (there will be plenty) or youll be fined for it later, even though it isnt your fault.
The incompetency of this apartment is unbelievable. there is someone called Jennifer, who has absolutely no idea of what shes doing, extremely very rude and disgusting. UD students find a better place to live. This place is waste of time. They charge you unnecessary fees for what you are not even aware of and expect you to pay, they keep mixing up their words. one person says this, another person say another thing. Maintenance is extremely terrible, something Is always broken, the other day our apartment was leaking, the hot water only last for 10mins, and they have done nothing absolutely nothing to fix it. Jennifer needs to be fired she has absolutely no idea of whats she doing. Pathetic!!!!
I moved here for the proximity to my job and family. I like the scenery and the fact that it is close to Hwy 114, I-35, and Hwy 183 is a big plus. Content with my choice.
Be careful when you move out!I moved in August 2015 and moved out at the end of May 2017. Apt # 1138.There are some bad things happened when I moved out.1. I went to the lease office on May 25 to told them that I will move out on May 29. Because it is holiday, Memorial Day, one of managers in the office told me I can put keys in Dropbox on the door of Apt 1139 when I move out. I took pictures of Apt 1139 to make sure it is the right place and double checked it with them. There were many people in the office when they told me it.When I moved out on May 29, I put 2 keys, 2 remote gate controls and 2 mailbox keys in the dropbox on the door of Apt 1139. I took pictures for these when I did it.The funny thing is nobody remembered it! On June 2, one manager sent me an email to request the keys. I told them where they are.The UNBELIEVABLE thing is: Now, they posted a bill to me that I should pay $35 for Lock Changes No keys Returned!!! Is it fair???Did you find the keys and gate controls? Of course you did, otherwise you will charge me more. You cant charge me because of you bad memory and poor management.2. I cleaned the rooms when I moved out. I dont think there are anything wrong. But they posted me the bill for Carpet Repair and Charges For Cleaning Needed, $79.95 and $85.I told them in email that I wont pay these unless they provide me evidence that these actions are necessary and give me the receipts of these services but they did not response my request.3. For water bill, every month is around $50 but the last month is $74.17. I even do not want to argue it.So, the security deposit is $100 but now I cant get any refund and need to pay them $174.My requests:1. I wont pay $35 for the Lock Change fee.2. I wont pay Carpet Repair and Charges For Cleaning Needed fees unless Tower Village provides me evidence that these actions are necessary and give me the receipts of these services.I think it is fair for both of us.3. If Tower Village doesnt have evidence for the point 2, Please refund me $25.83.Ping Yin
I am really glad with the full service of Tower Village, the staff is so kind and ready to help your, the apartments are really clean and comfortable the maintenance service is quick and complete, and the Manger Shelina is wonderful and always read to help you.
The worst place I have lived by far. I have bought 4 houses and lived in like 10 apartments. Mangement does not care. Residents are seen as cash registers, all possible energy is applied to add extra fees, fines, charges, late charges, costs, $100 for a windshield sticker!Maitenenance is awful, takes months to get them to fix anything. They are fond of send out a notice saying we have fixed your issue when plainly havent. My rent has been raised $300 this year, they cancelled discounts that the previous owners offered for U of D associates. The pool is sometimes open, sometimes closed, no indication of when or why. The units are falling apart. You cannot paint the walls or else that is another fine. Trash is overflowing the dumpsters. However they did decide to spend a lot of money on a complete remodelling of the office! They have made a big deal of so called improvements what are these? Changing shower heads in a few units! The two or 3 laundries are a quarter mile walk from, the units and it takes a good 4 hours and $20. Many of the machines dont work.I have been robbed twice. My car broken into, all my ccds, DL and checks and cash stolen. my bike stolen. There is active crime and since the new ownership, I have not once seen a Police car in the community. Under the old owners, they were stationed at the entrance of the complex EVERY NIGHT.The office could care less. This is what they consider luxury apartments and charge $1000 a month for these rat holes. They allowed a developer next door to repeatedly flood the first floor apartments. I know when I move out, they will suddenly find energy and apply themselves to taking my security deposit and to charge me for every possible cost. Here are some further scams:Charging $100 for a windshield sticker -of course it wont come off!Adding $70 to your bill for cable which you never ordered (oh we assumed you wanted it!) Never telling you they put it on your bill, and then being surprised when you are upset about it!Charging you $200 for month to month when you had made an agreement that your going to,lease for 6 monthsNever giving information with your bill about utility, trash and water charges. You have to call all of them yourself! For all I know they could be inflating these charges - whos got time to track this all down?Added fines for bikes on balconies, adding charges for anything outside the unit. Added charges for painting, for putting up art on the walls...We wont even go to pet charges. As I say, tenants are cash registers.Extra key charges when they only gave one out to begin with.Of course the lease is 40 pages long, written in leglase and they deserve the right to make changes at any time Which they attempt to do. ( the lease is always in academic English - I cant imagine how an immigrant could understand it - that is a great cash cow in their favor)As I say, tenants are cash registers.I know when I move out, they will suddenly find energy and apply themselves to taking my security deposit and to charge me for every possible cost.Maintenance is really a joke and actually really funny. There is a state law I think that says you must be able to break a long term lease for a bit extra cost. They never tell renters this....until you have been complaint about the place for years and then they want you to go lol.
Where should I begin about this piss pot they call Tower Village? The rich, spoiled, uncontrollable brats that run around this place destroy everything that the touch. They have set dumpsters on fire (numerous times), they party at all hours of the evening, they litter everywhere, the meat head boys piss every where in the apartment complex (even in front of you), they tore down a metal gate, they have run down a gate with their car (the idiot left their front license plate on the ground), they try to start fights, and that is just some of the stupid stuff they do. Now we come to the management. I think the Three Stooges could run a better business than the two knuckleheads in the front office; if you live here, then you know who I am talking about. They have torn down the mailboxes for remodeling without putting up any flyers or any warning. The mailboxes were torn down for over a week. They said we could pick up our mail at the post office but couldnt even tell us which post office. If you have any sort of problem with the apartment that involves more than replacing window screens or fixing a drawer, it will be a battle. One tenant I knew had to contact the actual property owner to get a problem fixed. They dont take money orders anymore, but they accept personal checks. In my opinion, that makes absolutely no sense at all. They removed the night drop box so you can only drop off your rent check during office hours. I work over sixty hours a week and I am never there during business hours. I can go on and on about this place. All I can say is that if you are a responsible adult or a man or woman with a family, stay far away from this cesspool. A cardboard box underneath 75 in Deep Ellum is a Four Season compared to this place.
The community manager, Shelina Musani, responded to our emails very quickly and was very helpful. She made the process of signing the lease very smooth. There was just a little miscommunication that caused us to have to wait in the office, expecting to finish signing the lease in person, only to find out Shelina was not working that day. Other than that, she was very friendly and great.
Crooks! These people took total advantage of my father. He gave them $145 for application fees, $300 for a deposit, and a $50 admin fee on the first day of inquiry. The apartment was supposed to be move in ready by October 1st. After the first came and went, they kept adding more and more fees and deposits. Not to mention he had to pay another months rent because the apartment was still not ready and here it is October 4th, 5th, 6th. Finally they say the apartment will be ready on the 12th. My father goes in on the 12th for the keys and what do you know, theyve decided another $576 will be needed. My dad being frustrated and frankly out of money told them I guess nevermind because I dont have it. They then refuse to return the initial $350 for deposit and admin fees. They understandably kept the application fees but scammed him out of the $350. He even came up with the $576 to try and salvage the deal rather than lose the money and low and behold, they leased the apartment to someone else. Or so they say. Somehow this other tennant was able to make it through the rigorous process in one business day. Be careful when applying here, I would advise you dont give them any deposits until you have signed the lease, they are good at loopholes. Shame, it seemed like a great place to live too.
Good place to live in. Its safe and convenient for me to go to work.
Truly terrible place to live! First off, the staff is so rude and trashy once youve signed a lease. The manager is the WORST of them all! The complex is advertised as gated but the gates never close so thats really misleading. They do not take care of basic maintenance needs. They do not keep the property clean. They are directly across the street from a college so there are extremely loud parties every day of the week that absolutely nothing is done about. They have fees that they are unable to explain. They do not have show apartments so they will promise you the world but since you cant see out you dont know that its all lies. They close early on a regular basis with no warning. Rent must be paid on the most generic mobile app I have ever seen, it does not even show a balance. Ill say it again because it is by far my biggest problem with the place, the staff is so rude and uncouth AFTER you sign the lease! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Save your $1000 a month and go somewhere else! This is not the place for a family!
Lived in these apartments during my senior year of college, and despite what I thought of them then and what everybody says about them, I really do think that they are a pretty good deal. The rates are awesome, you cannot beat them, especially on the college dime. There are some problems: some buildings should be tore down, the gate is usually broke (but with drunken college students everywhere, that is going to happen), a pest control problem (my apartment was nooked right against a drain, so those huge waterbugs would own the place during the summers), and a few other things.Looking back, especially now that I work in Leasing, I see that Tower Village actually has a lot of potential and is a really lenient place to live. They have some nice amenities like the circle, the pool, and their washer and dryer facilities. I also felt relatively safe, despite the broken gate, because they are really good about making sure all the exterior lights are functioning. The office staff is a little hard to get a hold of, but if you walk in respectively, or even use one of their online request links, and ask for help, they are more than happy to help. Their number 1 downfall is probably being too lenient on the students, particularly with allowing unauthorized occupants to live in every single apartment leased by a student. It really leaves them vulnerable to damages and complications with other non-student residents that no one can really be accountable for because you cannot evict someone who is not on a lease. If you do live there, especially as a student, try to cut them some slack. If you have the waterbug problem, like I did, just ask them to caulk around the edges of your floor and such, that will really help them from getting inside, and remember that those roaches are not GERMAN roaches-they will NOT infest your unit like that; they just accidentally got in. For those of you who have two or three squatters living in your unit, just be grateful that they are not evicting you. They absolutely have the proof and right to, and that will MESS your ability to rent somewhere half-decent for years. It also will ruin your credit, so good luck if you are evicted when you have several variable rate student loans (your interest rate will increase). If you are NOT a college student, just understand that there are many college students renting there. It will not always be quiet. Keep whatever Patrol contact they give you on hand and feel free to use it if the noise is just ridiculous. Or, if you really need a good nights sleep every night, just dont move here. Avoid the stress of you and the office staff and just go somewhere that does not have such a high college student population.
I will update this review if this first main issue is taken care of.Upon move-in, there were roaches in my apartment. Furthermore, my neighbors had their bike vandalized (glue spread all over the seat and lock). I also noticed that there is few ceiling lights in the apartment, but the window placement is good, such that natural light is used well.As a whole, the apartment is affordable and in a very convenient location, especially for students attending the University of Dallas across the street. Those that work in the city can ride the DART, which is about a 10 minute walk away.I hope that in the future Tower Village apartment is careful with its pest control- while I understand that this can be an issue of the residents, I also know that because of the high turnover rate of the apartments it can be due to previous residents. Maybe more fumigations would help in between residents. I also hope that security is improved, possibly with cameras, but I am afraid that these would likely be vandalized as well by some of the delinquents that live in the complex.
Selina Musani is very helpful and assures the process goes smoothly.
Worst apts ever lived in. This is not a good apartment complex for families! Constant loud parties at night and trash from UD students . I have my daughter here and we hear noise all night, blaring music, beer cans .. Just a mess .. Never find parking because of UD students coming and partying! Parking not really Inforced like they say. The only reason me and my husband live here is for the cheap price.. Moving hopefully once the lease is up!!! Dont say you werent warned, not sure why it even has a 3.0 rating...
Shelina was GREAT! She was able to help us when we had issues sending information from our previous apartments and went way above and beyond what even I would expect from a customer service rep. She truly values the residents that live here and does all that she can to help. That being said, I have to give only a 3 star review because when it came to our move in date on the 3rd, we were unable to move in and had to move in on the 4th. We were approved and had everything set up except signing some paperwork. We packed our belongings and traveled about an hour to Irving because of all the traffic. We got a phone call from Mercades as we were driving saying the paperwork would take a half hour to sign, and that even if we arrived at 5pm she would be unable to help us (they close at 5:30). We asked her if she could stay for just a few minutes because of how long it took to travel (especially with a 6 month old) and she said No, that it would take 45 minutes to do paperwork and that we will have to come another day. She apologized but did not seem to care and just said there was nothing she could do about it, even if we did show up at 5 (which we did). I understand wanting to go home on time but if we had known before we left instead of 10 minutes before 5 then we would not have been so upset and could have made arrangements. We had to rent our truck for an extra day and leave our belongings in the guest parking lot while we drove all the way back to Garland so that we wouldnt have to sleep in a car.The actual apartment itself is great and we love it. We are just happy Shelina is here and will be asking her to help us anytime there is something we need.
The most awful thing there is Shelina . A Nasty Evil person who does nothing but LIE, LIE, & LIE. & so damm Rude. The truth is that this property is INFESTED & full of Big Size Roaches, bed bugs, insects, etc. They move around everywhere including Kitchen & stove, living room, bedrooms, and bath rooms. No matter what you do, it doesnt help....very embarrassing when you have guests and roaches are crawling on your walls. In addition, the inside color of the apartments are SUPER dark...dark brown color makes the apartment more darker and you have to keep all lights ON until you go to bed each night. Thats why the electricity bill is super high, and you are required to have Apt. Insurance + Auto Insurance + water bill + garbage bill + and $150 + $200 + $175 different fees upon check in date.Pay some extra money and find a better place to live.....waiting for my lease to end !!
My dead parents burn in the hell if I am lying OR misguiding about anything. Gourd is a nasty evil person who doesn nothing but LIE, LIE, & LIE. Because they know their dirty tricks and game and how they are providing rude customer service, they are keeping rates a bit lower to attract new people especially who have low income or want to live close to University of Dallas.NO matter how much you request .... THEY DO NOT SHOW THE APARTMENT FROM INSIDE.. or .. EVEN TELL YOU WHERE IT IS LOCATED UNTIL .....YOU SIGN THE LEASE & PAY THE DEPOSIT AND FULL RENT.....It shows their... evil INTENTIONS... to trap new customer...Maintenance is SUPER + SUPER slow ... there is 1 senior poor guy on the property called James.. who does all the work there & it takes more than 2 weeks to fix a little thing in the bathroom or kitchen. The only thing is great here is the LOCATION and the Neighborhood is good.. other than nothing is worth living there @ that property. Just DO NOT allow them to fool you or get fooled by the out side looks .............Therefore, I make God my witness to advise you to spend a little extra money and live in a better place ..atleast with human beings but NOT with INSECTS, BIG SIZE ROACHES, & rude evil management.God Bless
I have lived here almost two years because it is very conveniently located to my job. Other than that i cant see any reason for living here. The complex is now on its third management company since i have been here. Every work order i create is immediately marked completed by the office without anyone ever showing up. My air conditiining has been out off and on since the beginning of the summer. It was finally replaced in September and is broken again. It wouldnt be such a big deal this time of year if i could open my windows but the screens do not fit and are screwed to the trim with big gaps along the sides. Anytime i open them wasps are in my apt in ten minutes. The guys that instalked the new ac informed me there are rodents in the ceiling which im guessing explains the methane smell that fills the apt from time to time. Recently there have been bugs coming in from the drain in one of the showers. Im charged every month for pest control and have asked them to send the guy over when he comes out once a month, but im on my third month with still no one showing up. Maybe i just got a bad unit but it doesnt seem like the management is interested in fixing any issues.
02/16/2016Called to inquire rental info,...got hungup on!So much for Professionalism!
I have been living here since Jan 2017 and its been a good experience ever since. Its right opp to my university and i get to save a lot of time on my travel.
NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!!!
This place is just utter garbage. Buy a tent before you move into this place.
Terrible Apts. The management try to squeeze every little bit of money out of you. My light fixture fell from the ceiling, the carpets stain when you drop even water on them, the dishwasher smells like its runs off of sewage water, and I saw a cockroach probably every night. Just a terrible place to live...
Great Place to Buy Crack!
Management isnt the best. The apartments are super old and they have outrageous parking regulations.
