Ive worked at this office for only 7 weeks. So far this is my review of what it is like to work at Total Quality Logistics - South Bend IN:***Pros***-You get what you put in. If youre content with making hourly than this is not the place for you. However, if the idea of earning an hourly wage makes you sick, this is a great opportunity for you.-You service the industry you want to transport freight for. If you like music, you can build your client-base around music instrument manufacturers or help transport concert equipment. If youre into medical technology, you can build your client-base around medical device manufacturers. Youre the pilot of your business and you choose where you want to go.-Very informative training program. You dont need sales experience nor do you need to know anything about logistics. The one thing you definitely need is an incredible top-notch work ethic. This is a terrible place to make only $40,000 per year but it is a great place to make $100,000+ per year. So, work hard and smart in the beginning and never stop. The money you make will be a result of this very action.-The culture is very diverse. If you enjoy high-energy environments with great people than this place is for you.-Very innovative company. The technology used is quite innovative. You are provided apps which you can download to your smartphone to manage your loads while youre away from the office.***Cons***-Work/Life balance takes time to get used to. You are on call 24/7 as an Account Executive. However, there is an over-night team which takes the initial calls so you dont have to. But, if they cant resolve the situation, theyll reach out to you to help resolve.-For every 150 calls, you may gain 1 client. Youll need to understand that experiencing massive amounts of rejection is part of the process to being successful. Just remember, Michael Jordan did not make his high school basketball team because he just wasnt good enough. But as we all know, he did not give up and ended up becoming one of the worlds top basketball legends. Imagine if he did give up in high school? The same mentality applies here.

I personally booked a lot of shipments with TQL. I can say its one of the best companies Ive ever worked. They have many loads for Sprinter Vans and Box trucks. If there is any problem with a shipment, they always try to understand and help me. I appreciate working with them and hope to continue booking more loads with TQL.

We have been hauling for TQL for a couple years now. Most of our experience has been positive, but this last load was terrible. When I booked the load I did see that there was no detention payable on it. Thats getting to be pretty normal. Most times, that isnt a problem, but this time I should have known better. The pickup took about 5 hours to load, but the delivery on the other hand was terrible. The biggest problem was the broker didnt tell us it was a work-in first come first serve. We were working on the word and rate con that just said first come first serve. When we got to the delivery we were made aware, DIRECTLY, that there are appointments set for every load. The appointments are made a week in advance, and that ours was 11pm the night before. After a long conversation with the receiver, our driver was made to sit for 11.5 hrs. Now, normally I wouldnt call the broker back, but this time I felt there needed to be some kind of compensation based on the fact WORK-IN was not part of the initial conversation. Upon calling the broker at TQL I was told that,were sorry that happened, but the rate con says no detention. And again that phone call was where we were made aware that it was a WORK-IN FCFS. Be aware that the load from Rose Hill, NC to Logansport, IN will require tons of your time with no compensation. We do not fault the receiver, for I myself have been there 100 times. Thats just how they work, but I do fault the broker on this, for he knows that as well. Point here is, if you cant keep the stuff on time, maybe you should drop that account and let someone who can haul it. That is all

If we could rate this company 0 stars, we would. TQL will lie to you, and make up stories only to make money of you. We delivered a load on time, with clean bills. Paid lumper fee of 95$. And they charged us 95$ instead if paying back to us. They will lie to you about pick up ready time, and pick cities. Dont risk it and take the chances with them. Just find another legit broker. WE WILL NOT WORK WITH TQL EVER AGAIN. 0 RATING !!!

Great company, brokers are great... most of them anyway. They could raise the rates a little but overall a pretty solid company.

Awful place with awful management! Do not work here!! They point fingers at everyone but no one takes responsibility. They will train but you will do the trainers work AND they will expect you to train the next guy! Make up work that is not in the job description! Watch out for this place! Also, they lack diversity and inclusivity! Steer away as far as you can!

Drove all night with a load only to be woken up with check calls all morning long and the day before that on a holiday my wife and I where woke up by check calls back 2 back 2 back after already telling them what time I would be there. Keep in mind these calls all occurred before I even had time to get it there upon the agreed time. This is disrespectful.

Tql is not a bad company they just have some EFFED up people that work for them tell you anything to get a dollar. Especially Bill Watson lied in order to get paid. They dont pay detention so dont believe the hype . they make you jump through hoops just to be lied to about detention pay

Just finished my interview process for this company. Whether I get the job or not, the interview process was extremely positive, and I’d encourage others to consider this company as a future career prospect. I didn’t meet everyone in the company, but I can say that this branch is full of people who care about their clients as well as about each other.

We booked this load yesterday with them i just called them to ask what time the comany wil be closing agent said u have to make there on the time what ever is the appointment and i said ok we can do this he didnt even emai me or anything they canceled on us driver drove there 120 miles to pick up the load and they said we gave to someone bcs u told me u cant make it .. like so many people told me if u book load with them and at second someone get for low price they can cancel on u but if u cant make to load they will put on ur company record.. at last all i wanna say olzz do. not book load with this company they dont value ur time and afort

I was contacted from the recruiting department for TQL because they saw my resume on indeed and thought Id be a good match. THEY CONTACTED ME! I had a phone interview and they thought Id be a good fit so they had me come in for some tests. They made me do a typing test, which I passed . A 50 states test, which I passed, a math test, which I passed. Then i did a kind of conceded TQL general knowledge test, and I passed that test too. Then I had the interview which seemingly went great! Nate the manager said I had great dress code. Then I got an email asking me to select 4 references, 2 had to be former bosss, and i had to make sure all 4 people filled out a 35 question digital insurvey, On top of the references they also sent me this project where i had to make a diagram, breaking down the raw materials of a product and show how the raw materials were shipped. I completed their project and got their references within 24 hours. They emailed me back saying they liked my project, and told me they liked my references. They called me in for a second interview. I came in and talked to another manager, and that second interview seemed to go well too. A few days later after not hearing back from them I called and asked if I was hired, they sent me an email saying they were going to hire another candadit instead.... OK HOLD UP. This company contacted me, because they thought I would be a good fit. Not the other way around. Second, I passed all of their tests. And did their projects. Which seems like an aweful lot to get through to just be told no, without any reason given. This company waisted alot of my time. I wouldnt take this company seriously if your looking for employment.

Over the years I have dealt with thousands of brokers. Some are better than others. HOWEVER TQL hold the record for being the most consistently awful. Every screw up has been TQL. They bully and lie on a regular basis. No problem I can get you layover pay or detention, sure. Until you go to claim it and there is ALWAYS an excuse. A 5pm appointment means anything up to midnight. the pestering phone calls and the unprofessionalism are legendary. They hire aggressive kids and have a god awful corporate culture that encourages lying and being a pest. Soon as I find out it is a TQL load I say no. I dont care what they pay which is no better if not worse than anywhere else. TQL suck.UPDATE:Response to response. Contact you? Why? Are you going to change the lies and bullying, the aggressiveness, the denying the addresses and phone numbers on the rate confirmation, the shower of phone calls sometimes in 15 minute intervals???? NO of course you arent. You have just been taught in some class or other that this is the insincere, empty gesture that you give when a peon actually says the emperor has no clothes and speaks the truth from multiple experiences. I wouldnt take a TQL load if it meant sitting for a week. You burned your OWN bridges both with myself and countless other truckers years ago. You wont change and I refuse to do business with you. Nuff said now find a short pier and take a long walk.Oh and your carrier relations team can do the other thing I just took care of my concerns right here where it counts. Your attempt to control negative publicity is duly noted and every trucker who reads this is nodding his head in agreement. So Ill keep on trucking and you keep using people.
