This location became my home LA Fitness gym after moving to the Broad Ripple area. The Glendale gym is one of the oldest LAs in the Indy metro area. Much of the equipment is showing its age. For example, the treadmills are nearing the end of their useful life. If you are a runner that paces over 9mph, it is not uncommon for the treadmills to shutdown mid stride and display a check speed system error message. Other weight equipment is commonly out of service for maintenance for extended periods. Along with the equipment, carpeting and flooring are noticably dated and need replacement.If I was new to the area and looking for a gym to join, I would recommend checking out some of the other options before starting a membership. The staff is nice, but the facility is in need of a major refresh.

Very clean gym with lots of equipment. Great place to play indoor basketball as well.

Decent enough gym. Equipment shows its age on occasion, but not enough to complain about. Front desk staff is pleasant. Facility is clean.

One of the Cleanest ....Gym around

The front desk lady has told me to use the LA FITNESS APP. So I check the yoga room schedule every time before I go. Today there were no classes after 11am. I come in at 1pm and there’s a class. The only reason I go yo the gym is to box. If LA fitness can’t even use their own online schedule, then why am I wasting my time and money? Almost every time is a bad experience anyway. I’m canceling my membership.

Change rooms and showers are pretty nasty. Wifi is slow. Weights on the Cable machines always stick. Equipment takes a long time to get repaired.

Doors say masks are required, but over half of the people in here dont even have one anywhere near them. (Not pulling down for a second, not in sight of them and straight up walking in the building without one) I was extremely uncomfortable as two bro dogs jumped around right next to the machine I was using. If this were my home gym my membership would have been canceled a while ago.

I am extremely impressed with facility. Facility extremely clean and doing a great job maintaining safety of customers during the pandemic. Staff from door entry to cleaning are very friendly and helpful

With reopening in the midst of the pandemic, i truly wish the staff was more professional in encouraging patrons to follow the few simple distancing regulations that theyve attempted to make. The directional arrows (to allow distancing) are not being monitored, which makes it impossible for older or immune-compromised people to distance. I spoke to the manager about it, and was told we just cant really monitor it. No, they cant if every employee is looking only one direction, which is how they are currently set up. In fairness to ALL their patrons, I hope they will take this more seriously and put some effort into at least trying to monitor it for the safety of those whose lives depend on it. Come on LA Fitness...you can do better than this! You apparently have no idea what its like when a patron who has trusted their health to you for years, is told that their health doesnt matter to your institution anymore!

I have been trying to cancel since august. I have called and gone into the location. I have been charged twice since they said I was canceled. As of today they said I was canceled and I can’t get a refund. I want my money back. This place is so greedy.

The gym is great, has all the equipment you could need, a large free weight area, pools, hot tub classes and training. I cant forget about the racquetball courts! They have long hours to fit your schedule and the multi state pass makes vacation that much easier. All this is accessible for 30 dollars a month.

I visited this facility yesterday and purchased a membership. The GM Treyonna was such a great help and hooked me up with a great deal on a membership. If you’re gym shopping I recommend going with la fitness you get the best for your money.

LA Fitness needs to be revamped..and needs more room. They dont have nearly enough space, machines, and racks for how many people go there during peak times. If you plan to work out after a 9-4/5 job, GOOD LUCK. Its a pretty good monthly price though for what you get.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. The staff here has HORRIBLE and I mean HORRIBLE customer service skills. I was informed my insurance offers a discounted rate through signing up with this gym for fitness incentive. When I called to inform the club about this as I was paying more than the discounted rate, the manager stated, I dont know anything about that plan, contact your insurance. They are partnered providers with the company and he refused to even investigate the information being provided to him. I had to call corporate in order for the adjustment to be made to my account and still take paperwork in for verification. Additionally, The cardio machines are the WORST. Treadmills are out of order, extremely loud or shake like crazy. I should not hear a treadmill over my music when I have it on the highest volume. The machines at Planet Fitness are far better quality for $10 when Im paying $35 for rusted, rattling, and horrible customer service. Go elsewhere if you can. I definitely will be!!

Dirty - I have never seen a staff hiding in corners on their phones and pretending to hurry around without actually cleaning anything. Carmel, Fishers, and Avon are very clean and the staff are responsive to questions. Broad Ripple is dirty everywhere and absolutely filthy around the hot tub.I have talked to local personnel and called the head office to no avail.

This gym is the dirtiest Ive ever seen. The locker rooms and restrooms are a mess and there are never paper towels or soap. I try not to think about the mens room floors. I have, on occasion, seen cockroaches in the locker room. I dont think the staff even make an effort to keep the building presentable.A few times a month they dont open on time because the opening employees slept in.Ive written LA Fitness to ask them to reprimand this site, but they dont care. I still go here because I can literally see the building from my house, but go elsewhere if you can.

It does not matter your size, condition or age, you can feel comfortable working out at LA Fitness. The members are definitely non judgmental. Folks who work out at LA Fitness are just looking to either get or stay healthy. All in all, this is a top-notch facility and well worth the money.

Other fitness places are more expensive or loud and very cheap. Keystone L A Fitness hasequipment to build my strength and classes to give me variety and extra toning.So close I can walk, I have no excuse for missing my work out.

Decent gym...good people. It could stand to be a bit cleaner in the locker rooms and bathrooms but nothing terrible. You are there to work out and the facility provides you with everything you could possibly need.

Anybody know what time they gonna open tomorrow(labour day)?

The parking lot is way too dark at night. Way too dark. And all the crime that happens around that area these people need to brighten up their parking lots. Same thing with LA Fitness in Eagle Creek. Its like the Blue Lagoon out in that lot when youre trying to leave that place late at night. Its amazing.

I have been a member for about a month now. Im not sure why there are all the negative reviews either. This is the gym for you if you would like the most facilities you can find in a gym with an extremely reasonable price. The place is clean enough for a gym with the amount of traffic that is has. Ive never seen anything disgusting in the place. They just redid the pool and its in excellent order. I love to play basketball and do the yoga classes. The guy that teaches yoga is extremely friendly and I will definitely try to go to that class consistently. The guys that play basketball are usually very friendly and Ive never had a problem getting into a game; even when there are 10+ guys waiting to play.

Been going here a for awhile now everything you need and more in what a gym should be. Prices are fair staff are cool. Customers are cool everybody stay in their own lane.

Well maintained. Clean. Pool always has good chemical balance... 9/16/2018: no less than 4 Sundays in the past year the gym hasnt opened on time. I love how lively this gym is but its a stupid waste of time just waiting in the parking lot for some to arrive.

Fits my needs very well. A pleasant place to exercise. I go a couple times a week and have for two years. Friendly people and easy to deal with.

Some people will complain about anything just to have a voice. It does not make the complaint or concern legitimate or even real. I have been in gyms all over the country and I have been a member since before the gym actually opened.In the beginning before the closing of a lot of the other smaller gyms in the area, it was relatively sparsely attended. It was cleaner, smelled better and the jacuzzi was clean. I have never been in the pool.Over time things changed. There are some nasty people in the world. Very few people even think of carrying a towel, touching and laying on things right after others sweated all over it. Learn to bring your own towels, your own mats, then you will not have to share.Things are not as clean as they once were, but it is never been dirty when I was there. The locker room has a funkiness from time to time since member leave dirty stuff in lockers meant for daily use. The staff should and could do more to patrol and cut off locks at the end of the day.For the money and all available, it is money well spent. There will always be better or worse places but again for all they offer there is value here.

05.12 Update: Well, it took a while but another manager was able to refund the annual fee. I had to argue with him for it though. The extra premium it costs to go here is definitely not justified given the frustration caused by the bad customer service plus the older workout equipment. If I had another pool option, I would leave in a heartbeat, but since I dont, I am here.05.06 Update: They screwed me over with membership renewal. Their general manager repeatedly promised I wouldnt be charged an annual fee, only for it to show up on my card the next day. Of course, then none of the staff or other managers are able to do anything about it, and the one person who potentially can is only in during week bank hours, which as a teacher I can never make. Left specific instructions on what needed to be remedied, and instead I get a voicemail asking me to call back before anything will be fixed. Dont make promises you cant keep. Dont trust the people running the show. You will pay an arm and a leg for this gym. Just go to Planet Fitness.Big gym, friendly staff and members. Staff do push the personal training angle hard, and membership is a little pricy for how old the equipment at the gym is. Theyre always playing LA Fitness commercials over the PA, which gets old if you go often. But those are my only complaints. Its a fine gym besides that.

The staff have all been pleasant overall, so no complaints about them. This place could use a good scrubbing. The equipment is sticky, the carpet is filthy, and the place has an overall musty odor. I wish members would wipe down the equipment like they are supposed to after they use it! A thorough cleaning is long overdue.

Ive been a member at a couple different gyms in the area, I have to say this one has great structure! Very clean, has all the amenities and equipment I need, and also the staff has been very helpful for the most part . Worth the money spent. 👌🏽👍

The people who are writing the positive reviews obviously work here!This is by far the dirtiest gym I have ever been to. The mens locker rooms are filthy! There is almost never soap at any of the sinks. Paper towels are also hard to come by. If you like to swim or take a shower, be sure to bring a pair of flip flops that you dont mind getting dirty. The bathroom floors have a coat of urine that has been increasing over the years. Some days the smell in the locker room is so bad that you will gag just trying not to vomit while using the restroom.The sauna in the mens locker room does not reach an acceptable temperature either. Additionally, the thermometer has been broken for at least a year. The only thing you will experience is a terrible smell.The only thing that keeps me going to LA fitness is my discount through work for all locations. I started going to the North Carmel location which is acceptable. I moved away from that area and I am about four miles away from this location and 2 others are about 4.5 miles away.The equipment is far worse than any of the other LA Fitness in the area that I have been to. The only reason I go to this location is because they actually have better machines for back exercises. For other muscle groups I go to the Fishers location. The hours are also much better at the Fishers location.The place is also very crowded. If you like using the Stairmaster good luck unless you want to wait 30 minutes until one becomes available.Ill probably be switching to Lifetime soon unless they make some changes at all locations. The other locations are starting to become dirty also. Still, nothing compares to how disgusting this location is.

Very clean. Even has a locker room to shower after workouts. Plenty of parking, pool, upstairs and downstairs workout area, swimming lesson, yoga, personal trainers. Reasonable membership fees that can be split up in multiple ways. Great customer service.

I’ve been going here for a few months and have no complaints! They do giveaways pretty frequently. Some of the equipment needs maintenance, but I haven’t had any real problems. I go here 4-5 days a week with no problems.

Some D bags but great machines. Actually lots of D bags in tank tops. Goodwill is across the street thinking about picking up some dollar ts and handing them out. Also deodorant is optional apparently.

Cleaner than most centers I have been to, but staff can learn to treat members a bit nicer.

I gifted my daughter a six month membership as a Christmas present. I am still being billed in September. When I called to cancel and get a credit for the over billing for what I though should have been done I was told TOO BAD!!!!! You are on a month to month contract and should have read the contract(Never got a contract as it was a gift) We got your money and as a favor I will cancel the membership over the phone as I am located 3 hours away. I should feel grateful for this act of kindness? What happened to Customer Service? DO NOT GOT TO LA FITNESS!!!!!!! I would give them a minus score if possible. A one is too much!

Love the classes. Makes gym routine easy. I just show up at 8:30 and take whatever class is scheduled. Theyre all fun. Staff is friendly. Like family to me.

La Fitness is a great GYM to get your workout on. They are clean machines are great to use.

The free classes are great, and theres usually good basketball. This is a very busy location - a few years ago, right after it opened, it was filthy. Theyve gotten slightly better with cleanliness, but too many machines are out of order, or old, or stained. Combine that with LAs awful cancellation policy and Im not a huge fan.

Been a member for two years. For the price I pay and the location, theres not much to complain about. Ive never felt disgusted by anything. If you make yourself aware of the peek hours and class schedules, you should be able to have fun and do what you need to do with little interuption.

This location is not maintained well, but today I have reached my limit! It is a common place for them to be out of the alpha sanitizing solutiom so I am now used to just wiping everything down with their hand sanitizer if they arent also out, or my own to sanitize the machines. Fine, I guess no big deal? When I showed the guy up at the front person on the treadmill next to me eating a taco he just laughed.  Fine. No big deal? But this is the 7th time there hasnt been toilet paper for me to use. Luckily, in the past I have just used paper towel because Im desperate. But today, even that is out. There are three stalls with piss all over them and someone has exploded shit all over two others. Why am I paying you people money?!

The gym itself is nice. We go during the afternoon so its never crowded but it does get packed in the evening. I was surprosed when they didnt have a weight belt for dips/pull ups as thats been standard at every gym I have gone to before.There is a BIG problem with cleanliness, which is ironic given the salesmans claim that cleanliness was a top priority. Apparently that was lip service.Very few people wipe down their equipment here so its not uncommon to get ready for your next exercise only to find a sweat soaked bench. Disgusting! I have never been to a gym with a worse problem. LA Fitness should put spray bottles throughout the gym to encourage accountability.I have never seen an employee cleaning up during the day. Im sure it must be done at the end of the day but coming through and keeping your gym clean would go far to aleviate concerns of a disgusting gym.I like the heavy bags most of all.Also, they have six kickboxing heavy bags they don’t let people kick.

This LA Fitness has a horrendous customer service experience. The staff seems more concerned with hitting on the customers than keeping the establishment in order-- i.e. making sure things are in order, keeping the location clean, and making sure the equipment is in good working order. LA Fitness the local company and larger corporation does not seem concerned at all with broken equipment or the MANY MANY HUGE potholes in the parking lot that go months upon months without being filled. At any given time up to 25% or so of the treadmills are broken. The adage you get what you pay for absolutely holds up here-- the price is okay but the service is at best severely lacking but mostly non-existent.

I have enjoyed it so far. there are a lot of negative reviews, but i did not have any of the issues that were mentioned. i have had several other memberships at clubs in the past, and this one ranks as high, if not higher, than the others. they have everything here that you could possibly want to do.

Its not THAT bad. Its no 5 star gym in Hollywood people. Its 65th and Keystone for god sakes. Bunch of crybabies. Get over your beautiful world. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows.

I have been a member for a little over a year now, and the LA Fitness in Glendale seems to get worse every day. My latest experience (yesterday)....-No person at the front desk - Check yourself in.-The locker room carpet smells so badly of mold and mildew it makes your eyes water.-Bathroom Stalls have no toilet paper. (embarrassing and disgusting)-No soap at 3 of the 4 sinks.-1 of two paper towel machines are broken.-Multiple treadmills (out of order - for weeks)-Over crowed.-No hand sanitizer.-Broken drinking fountain.The only questions I can ask are:How this place hasnt been shut down by the health department?And what other gyms are in the area that I can switch to?

Busy, but great place to work out

Just joined a week ago and so far I am pleased with my decision. Saw this place as an upgrade from my previous much smaller gym. However, some of the equipment is in desperate need of maintenance/full replacement.

This is the worst gym I have ever been to in my life. Its constantly dirty and machines are always broken. There are apparently no membership limits, as it is always so crowded that there are lines for machines. Half of the time I go in, there isnt even a person working the front desk. The only positive is that it is fairly cheap for a monthly membership.

The sales guy was nothing but a hustler. I dont like being treated like Im a dumbass. No thanks I wont be back!

This facility is cool. Nice and clean. Just not my favorite place to workout.

UPDATE: 11/21/19 ... After several months of improvement in housekeeping, the staff member who seemed to singlehandedly be keeping the facility clean, quit. Conditions have rapidly deteriorated, since.The person who replaced him CONSTANTLY shuffled around with his eyes on his phone screen instead of on cleaning tasks. He was recently replaced with someone who continues the tradition. The only differences being that he moves even slower, listens to loud profane lyrics on his phone without earphones, and he pays even less attention to increasingly filthy/trashy conditions.Hoses, Wet Floor signs, mops are left laying haphazardly on the floors.Last week at least four or five days passed with virtually all all but two of the mens shower soap dispensers empty. Two were half full – one dispensing no more than a drop of soap with 6 or 8 pushes. An empty one has been laying on the floor, for a week, of a non-functioning shower where the shower valve handle has been broken off for over a month.Toilet stalls go for days without toilet paper. Plumbing & equipment issues, and dirty/unsanitary conditions are neglected.Equipment (cardio equipment, especially) is outdated, frequently out of order, dirty, and some machines are even visibly rusting.Today I stopped a manager as he appeared to be inspecting the mens locker room, restrooms, & showers (but doing nothing to pick up trash, remove tripping hazards, or show any actual concern). I asked how often inspections are done. I said its clear that theyre either not being done regularly or theres no action taken after inspections. I showed him the lingering trashy conditions of the shower room.He said, Yeah, that puddle of water in the middle of the floor ...I asked him to repeat what he saw as a problem, and he reaffirmed that the little puddle of standing water in the middle of the SHOWER room should be mopped up. If management thinks a puddle of water in the shower room is THE problem, its no wonder the place is such a hot mess.He offered no comment or acknowledgement of the soap dispenser on the floor (where its been laying for at least a week), nor of the trash (soggy paper towel wads & piles, pieces of bar soap, empty shampoo bottles, and miscellaneous organic filth) EVERYWHERE around and in the showers.UPDATE: 05/04/19 ... There seems to have been some positive changes in staff and maintenance/cleaning procedures. Over the past month or so, the place has been much cleaner and most new staff members are friendlier. Equipment is still very outdated and the cardio machines, especially, need to be replaced with newer equipment like other Indy LAF locations weve visited.All of the equipment is old at this location. Perhaps thats not quite as consequential for the weight machines as it is for the cardio equipment; but it should all be somewhat comparable to their other locations.Frequently four or five or more of the treadmills at the N. Keystone location are labeled Scheduled for Service or the display reads, Check Speed System and are inoperable.Today, I selected one of the functioning treadmills. Set the incline and speed; and just as the belt began to move, it stopped and the display changed to Check Speed System. I moved to another treadmill, set the incline and speed, and it worked for almost four minutes before my brisk pace was suddenly stopped by the motor and belt locking up! It didnt gradually slow, it suddenly LOCKED with no warning -- DANGEROUS!It was cleaner when we joined several months ago -- doesnt seem to be kept very clean, now.A fee that we were told would be waived showed up on our bank statement. There was also an initiation fee that the salesman told us he would have no problem getting waived (we do it all the time, he said) ... then a manager told us, at agreement signing, We NEVER waive that fee.

It is a decent gym, but not worth the price. It is exceeding difficult to leave. You have to write a main office via certified mail, or come in Monday thru Friday between 9 and 5 to cancel ones Membership. This is a terrible Policy, I went to the front desk one day at 5:30, they told me to bad the manager is not here he left at 5. Meaning they Vacate the premise as fast as possible to stop people from cancelling their membership.

Aerobics room way too muggy, stuffy and hot. Also they could do a better job of cleaning this gym. Great Sunday Step Class at 9:45am with Danielle.

The workers there aren’t professional at all they try to pressure u into everything As long as you give money I was trying to go in everyday to work out but it was everyday that they would come up to me and ask me if I would like a different membership and other thing I was just trying to mind my business and do my workout literally the worst place you can go to workout 🙄😒

Nice and clean

I have always liked this gym out of convenience and lack of other gyms in the area. I hadnt been in a few months and after going again recently I am left wondering what happened. Just as many other reviews have pointed out, this gym just seems dirty and poorly maintained. I hope they do something about this soon or I will be looking for other options.

Great gym. You can play pickup basketball every evening, they have workout classes, a pool, and a sauna!

OLD cardio equipment, dirty floors (they dont vacum rather just pick up large pieces of trash) and bathrooms that smell like a high school boys locker room. the free weight options are the only plus.

!!! WORKOUT BUZZ-KILL !!!!I wish I could select no stars (beyond hated it). Unfortunately, there are very few gym options in this part of town.Wait list for classes. Full classes. Lines for equipment. No signs encouraging people to limit workout to 30 minutes when other are waiting, etc.

Its time for renovation! That NASTY carpet has to be FULL of bacteria, the tile in the womens locker room, pool area and shower is hazardous - people are slipping, falling, it was never intended to be walked on while wet. You could at least buy non-slip pads and put it down. Theres mold in the showers and on the curtains as well. And the Carmel West location is almost as bad.

This is an older LA fitness, some equipment needs replaced - but still nice.

Terrible pool, terrible locker room cleanliness. Im now driving 50minutes for a better facility that doesnt randomly clean the deck with bleach any given day of the week during business hours.

At any given time 50% of the equipment or more is broken in this gym. It has the original equipment from when it first opened and it’s not maintained. I’ve been double charged two months in a row and the staff says the operations manager “will get to the issue”. Very shady company, not worth $5 a month.

Its really dirty and the machines are old and in disrepair. You may be assaulted, for using a piece of equipment without permission, by a juiced up lifter. I used to like this place.

Been a member about seven years. Its always been great.
