I am incredibly thankful that I had Something Wonderful alter my wedding dress. I purchased my dress from sample store, Luxe Redux where it needed hemming, repairs to the belt, and some stain corrections. Sarah was extremely helpful and efficient with providing advise to make sure my dress came out gorgeous. She was very transparent and always ran her appointments to the exact timing. I would recommend her any day to anyone wanting to entrust their wedding dress to a team that will make it fit you beautifully!

Planning a wedding amidst COVID can be tough and stressful. Not only did they have to do custom alterations, but they had to fix mistakes that David Bridal made on my wedding dress. Her words to me were you will feel beautiful on your wedding day, when I literally had two weeks to get part of my dress taken in. I know many other companies would have just told me theres nothing they can do; but not here. I will be taking anything I ever need altered here for as long as im in indy!

Something Wonderful did a fantastic job altering my dress for my wedding! I bought the dress from a boutique and it was rather large and far too long. Sarah was able to bring the dress in to fit me perfectly! I am SO HAPPY with how it turned out. Not only did she do my wedding dress, but she fixed up my welcome dinner dress and bathing suits. I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Something Wonderful. My original fitting was postponed due to the pandemic, once by wedding month rolled around (June) Sarah not only got me in but did an INCREDIBLE job despite us being extremely pressed for time. I had an idea in my head of exactly how I wanted my dress to look - I had purchased a beautiful strapless dress but wanted sleeves added - which is very complicated. Not only did Sarah create EXACTLY what I had imagined for my dress, she did it in RECORD time. The dress turned out absolutely stunning and you would never have known the sleeves had been added - it was absolutely perfect. I recommend Sarah & Something Wonderful to everyone I know. I was so happy with my experience at Something Wonderful. I had bought a sample gown online and taken it into another alterer in Indy. Unfortunately, after my alterations were complete and I was told the dress looked good with nothing else needing to be done, I left with a rather roomy bust area for my small chest and the disappointment of thinking that my not very well fitting dress was as good as it was going to get. Thankfully, my mother found Something Wonderful and we were able to get the dress in and worked on at the last minute before my wedding a few weeks later. Sarah did an amazing job and was able to make my dress fit like a glove. I am so thankful for my experience and for having been able to wear the dress of my dreams on my wedding day!

I came in with my wedding dress about a month before the big day with some botched alterations. Not only did she fix the mistakes I spotted from my previous alterations, but she also found more places where the dress had been poorly handled. I couldn’t believe how quickly she turned this dress around and how beautiful it turned out! Best wedding decision I ever made! I will definitely be back with other alterations!

I would definitely recommend Sarah for all your wedding alterations. She was so sweet, easy to communicate with for schedule alteration sessions, and exceeded my expectations! And she made me feel beautiful! I had a built in belt on my dress and wanted to replace it with another belt I bought. She had the wonderful idea of taking those appliqués and putting them on my veil. It was so pretty!

I want to preface this review by saying customer service is PARAMOUNT, in the wedding industry. If you are a bride looking for someone to make your dress fitting an experience, to make you feel good or to make the dress altered to fit your body, just go somewhere else. There are literally TONS of other people who are happy to do your alterations and make you feel heard and important; the ways a bride should feel! The lack of professionalism and frank rudeness I encountered from the owner is something I have never experienced in a professional environment. My second fitting was mid-June and I arrived with my friend, masks in hand. I was told that only I could come inside with a mask (which is fine), but my friend asked if she could open the blinds on the door so she could see from outside the closed door. She was told rudely, The blinds are open; neither friendly nor accommodating. When I got inside, she told me thats why I sent you a text message regarding visitors. I never received such text message and had no idea about visitation policies; if I had, I most certainly would have come alone. During the fitting, I was told, thats not the way the dress is made, we would have to restructure the entire dress for a minor bust adjustment. When I asked why the top looked the same and nothing had been done after three months she replied, “Well let me pin it! (Although it had already been pinned at the bust three months ago).” Being a bride during COVID, a lot of us have had stressful times trying to reschedule and postpone things. After three months of not seeing my dress at the second fitting, the only thing that had been done was a minor hem to the inner lining and the skinny boning/breast padding (the simple kind that goes in your average swimsuit top) was removed; thats it. This is after our first fitting when we discussed what the top needed to look like and how excited I was to see the dress at the second fitting with the top reconstructed. During an email correspondence to reschedule my second fitting, she even remarked, Your dress is coming along great. Ultimately, I chose to pull my dress from her service due to the lack of professionalism, lack of progress to my dress and utter rudeness I experienced throughout my two fittings. I paid for the minor work that was done, was refunded the rest of the money that I paid in advance and charged a cancellation fee. I was quoted $650 dollars for my dress (I ending up paying $250 for another seamstress to alter it). When my friend went to pick the dress up for me in her sunroom, the dress was in its bag, draped over a chair (come on, at least hang it on something), and not one foot away from the dress was a bag of dog poop! I mean you really cant make this stuff up. It was disgusting and just goes to show how unprofessional this owner presents herself, especially during this global pandemic when cleanliness is so important. My ultimate advice; go to someone who makes you feel good any happy with your dress! Life is too short to have your dress done be someone who makes you uncomfortable and makes you feel as if you are putting them out for providing a service for you. Side note: I went to another seamstress the next day, and a few minor adjustments were made during my 30 min fitting and the dress already fits like a glove; the way it should be! Long story short: overrated, expensive; spend your time and energy elsewhere.

Sarah was wonderful to work with on altering my wedding dress. She gave me her honest opinion on how to make my dress look it’s best on me. She also gave me advice on how to travel with my dress to our destination wedding! My dress looked absolutely amazing and fit perfectly on my wedding day! Sarah really pays attention to detail. When I went in for my last fitting, she noticed that the lace didn’t line up perfectly on the bottom of the dress (which is something I probably would have never noticed) and insisted on fixing it because she wanted it to be perfect! I truly admired that about her and really appreciated that she noticed it and wanted to fix it. She went above and beyond and I’m so thankful!

My wedding dress alterations were absolutely perfect!! There were a handful of things I wanted to change about my dress and Sarah was so helpful in telling me what could be done and made sure I was completely happy with how my dress fit and looked. She also made me the most beautiful veil! Cant recommend this place enough!

I had bought a dress that was a size 12, and I am a size 2 and under 5 feet tall. I was worried that my dress would not be able to be altered to fit my unique shape. However, Sarah did an amazing job! And she was very thorough! She had me come in for a total of 5 appointments, just to make sure that she got my dress exactly right. I could not have been happier with the final product. I got so many compliments on my dress and how well it fit me. She is a miracle worker! :)

These two ladies are life savers. After a last minute dress change for our wedding, they did a magnificent 3-day dress alteration before the wedding, and THEN when we had a zipper come off, they fit me in to get it repaired the next morning the day before the wedding.Very skilled, very kind, and absolutely would recommend them to anyone.
