I made an appointment over the phone with the owner of this shop under my name which is Sam. When I arrived he turned me away due to the fact that I am female. When I tried to explain that the haircut that I have is a mens cut and the haircut that I was wanting is also a mens cut, he threatened to call the police on me and my friend for harassing him. This man is extremely rude and unprofessional, his shop is dirty, and he obviously doesnt care about people in general. Even if you are a man getting a mens cut I would highly recommend going somewhere else, as this bigot does not deserve our money. Its 2021 we need to start treating people like people. Unfortunately my only option was to give one star but I really wish there was an option for zero Stars I will never go back to this place again
Not sure what the gentleman’s name is, but he gave me one of the best haircuts I’ve ever received. Super polite, great cut at a great price. Even used a straight edge on my neck and around my ears which was amazing! Will absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone.
Denied my friend service because she was a woman even though she said she wanted a men’s hair cut. When she said she wanted a men’s hair cut he told her he would call the cops if they didn’t stop harassing them…. Not professional and not representative of the Bogie’s brand.
Larry fixed my god awful haircut from Warfleighs barber shop. He did some serious surgery to fix what they did, and in the end I was surprised by how talented he truly is! This guy is a trained professional, if you have long hair come to Bogies!!!
Would give 0 stars if I could. Learn how to treat clientele.
Larry runs a great shop. Great haircut at a great price.
Fast, quality haircut every time for $13 and comes with a neckline shave with a straight razor. Every other place within a few blocks wants to charge you $25 to $30. Ive been to those too and I dont see anything they do thats worth 5 bucks more much less more than double the price. Never had a negative experience here and Ive been going for a couple years now. Hes even stayed late past closing time when Ive showed up kind of last minute when the shop would have been closing normally.
Always a great cut from Boagies! My goto shop in Broad Ripple
Bogie is the most affordable, friendly, and most of all AMAZING at a fade. Highly highly recommend to give Larry a shot.
Easily the best place to get your haircut in Indy. Larry puts the extra effort into every cut for literally half the price ($13) of most places. Plus he gives out his cell, so you can just text him whenever you need to come in (usually I’m doing it the day before)
I have been utilizing Larrys services ever since college and I will continue to do so. He provides a personal touch and is very easy to work with when it comes to scheduling (you can book an appointment via text).
This guy does a great job. He was friendly and fast without lacking quality. I will be back, Thanks Bogie!
Please support local! Larry deserves appreciation for consistently great haircuts and prices. Amazing that he was able to continue to operate after closing for months due to pandemic.
T R A S H.
Hands down the best barber in Broad Ripple. He is amazing! Consistent quality and professionalism each and every single haircut!
My coworker Alex arrived at work today looking like a big man on campus. Larry worked his scissor magic and constructed a masterpiece of perfection on Alexs noggin. The fade is smooth, crisp, and more fresh than a Georgia peach in mid July. Each individual hair appears to be handled with the ultimate care and measured to the exact millimeter. His confidence level is now at an all time high. Hes even considered doing some modeling on the side simply due to his new dew. I high recommend Larry for all of your hair needs and wants. He will exceed your expectations!
Really enjoyed the conversation and he paid more attention to the haircut than any barber Ive had in the past
Love this place. Old school barbershop but not in a try-hard way. Really good haircuts for a great price ($13) and good barbershop conversation. Wait times can be a little long (60-90 minutes) if you dont time your visit right. Most of the guys in my office go there now as well.
Just called to see if I can get there at 6 for just a razor shave was immediately cut off saying he now closes at 6:45 p.m including walk ins... his whole tone made me not go there even if I would be able to get their earlier. Not sure why someone would act like that especially with a person you can tell is a new customer or potential new customer . I advised him his site says 7 pm, he didnt even think about honoring that at least the first time for me. GARBAGE and I havent even stepped in before. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR NEWCOMERS
Great haircuts for guys. No foo foo hipster BS. Just a guy with scissors, clippers, and a chair. And in a few minutes you walk out looking sharp for not a lot of dough.
Larry does a great job and at the best price in town. Might be a bit crowded at times, but theres a reason for that. Standard cut (only $13!) gets you a haircut, eyebrow trim, warmed shaving cream w/ a straight razor trim around your hairline, and product. Another place 0.5 mile from my home in Fishers offers a comparable service for $35 vs Larrys $13 - thats why Ill gladly keep driving down to BRipple.
Great place. One man shop. These negative reviews are unfair I think. Its a mens barbershop and his hours are clearly mentioned on the door. Anyway, I havent found a better barber in my 5 years in Broad Ripple.
I walk in at 0930 and there is one gentleman ahead of me in line. He doesn’t acknowledge me until fifteen minutes until I finally ask, “uhm... can I get a haircut?” Why did he not acknowledge me for that length of time? He was telling some customer—who was clearly uninterested—his literal life story (that’s said without exaggeration). The customer in question was getting a high and tight—I come back thirty minutes later after grabbing breakfast and the haircut is still not finished. The barber has to stop what he’s doing to tell his seemingly endless story. He can’t walk and chew gum, as people like to say. I left after waiting an ACTUAL HOUR for this weird barber to get 3/4s of the way through a high and tight. Don’t waste your time. ALSO no sinks to wash your hair before or after.
Antisemitic, very pro-trump... Made numerous antisemitic statements while he was cutting my hair. The financial channel was playing on his tv which triggered him to start making comments about how Jewish people just like to fight, some of them are probably okay people, but most of them just like to fight. Very uncomfortable and awkward haircut. The shop was full with people waiting...pin drop silence after he started making these comments. Made some strange comments about immigrants as well. Makes his support for trump very obvious. I would prefer to not listen to his political opinions while getting my hair cut. This is unfortunate because he was actually a pretty good barber but Ill now have to find somewhere new to go.
Larry is... well, Larry. Decent cut, good price (compared to everywhere else in town). Wait times are usually a bit long. If you cant stand the pretentious conversation, I would recommend going elsewhere. I was a regular for two years, when I lived in Indianapolis and was always pretty quiet in the shop. Recently visited when I was in the area for work and had a pretty rough time after Larry caught a little bit of my sarcasm for his super genius (actual quote) remark. I still have the razor burn to prove it. Bottom line, dont talk and youll come out of it with a good cut and minimal damage to your wallet (and head).
Best haircut around and hell shave your face for no extra charge. Your cant beat Larrys prices anywhere in Indy although you may have to wait a little while at peak hours.
Awesome
Bogie’s is great, great price, great location, great environment, basically, great everything. Larry is very welcoming and nice. Haircuts are awesome!
A genuine barbershop experience with excellent results and attention to detail! Larry is a master of his trade and a true gentleman
Best haircut in the city. Worth the wait if it’s busy there.
Good good cuts. All walk-ins. Potential to wait for a little bit, but its worth it. Quite cheaper than most places as well.
Been to Bogies my entire college career and never disappointed. Great cuts, great atmosphere.
Awesome guy. Takes his time+ no appointments so youre usually able to get a haircut if youre willing to wait.
Best haircut Ive gotten in a very long time, and the price is unbeatable.
Took my 4.5 year old, great cut, great price, and he was very patient with him.
Great barber. Wait times can be long, but the haircut is good and the prices arent exorbitant.
If you want a great cut, go here.
Best 13$ I have ever spent.
10+ years of great service. What more should I say.
Great location and really talented barber.
Great location, good atmosphere, and a talented barber. One visit will make you a regular.
Larry is a maestro. There is no reason to read reviews or search around for other spots. This is your new barber.
Only does limited cuts. Cant cut womens hair even if its short. Going to assume they cant cut black hair either.
Larry is a great guy to talk to.
I have been going to Larry for years now. The wait can be a bit long sometimes but that speaks to the quality. Wouldnt let anyone else touch my hair.
Great barber, great cuts, great conversation.
I dont cut womens hair. No she wants a mens haircut. I dont offer that service. No stars. Shouldve read the negative reviews before we headed over.
Best haircut ever
Very unprofessional.
Best barber around
Great
