My husband and I lived at the MK from August 2019 to July 2021 and can both confidently say that we are relieved to no longer live there. In case the MK sees this and wants to reach out – we are the two who are still waiting on an actionable response regarding a $50 reimbursement for returned parking tags. The property management at the MK – and we saw three different teams cycle through during our residence – was inefficient, disorganized, and truly disappointing. As far as the reimbursement we’re owed, the MK has told us that accounting is “still” looking into it. We have followed up with the MK repeatedly since September 1st - I’ve called twice and left voicemails for Katie and haven’t received a follow up phone call yet, only correspondence via email with my husband. This is a great example of how the MK works with residents. They contacted us shortly after moving out relaying that we didn’t leave the parking tags as requested. Once we arrived in our new state and unpacked, we were able to send both parking tags – we did this as quickly as possible. However, now that we are owed a reimbursement fee for these tags, they are delaying a response and follow-up action.Another example of this relates to their $500 re-signing bonus. We were offered this incentive in March 2020, re-signed, but didn’t receive the bonus for several months due to a “printing error”. We had to constantly follow up with phone calls and in-person visits to get this resolved. You would think that if you are working to incentivize residents to stay, you would deliver on the promise sooner rather than later. The parking garage door is always suffering from mechanical issues, the internet isn’t great for those who work from home, and the units are complete with low-grade appliances (that look nice). That aside, our biggest issue with the MK is/was the property management. When you pay the rates you do to live at the MK, you should rightfully expect a certain level of communication and help from your property management - after all, they are considered an added amenity of living in an apartment complex. Neither one of us recommend the MK to friends, family or coworkers and in fact tell them to avoid it. If youre looking for a place to live in the neighborhood, my recommendation is to visit Ironworks – they have the most welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful property management team – search for a duplex in the Meridian Kessler area, or meet with Park 66 before signing at the MK.

Great location - horrible business. I can get past the fact that it’s overpriced but the abysmal service is unacceptable. This staff is clearly mismanaged and will give you inconsistent information based on whom you ask. They broke lease promises and always seem to make problems more confusing that they need to be. Definitely will NOT be re-signing.

The apartment location is ideal to enjoy many of Broadripples social offerings. Most neighbors abide by the very reasonable apartment living rules so all can peacefully enjoy their home. Apartments are very up to date and parking available which is awesome given the space constraints in popular and desirable Broadripple.

Luxury in a great location! The MK is one of my favorite places that Ive lived at in Indianapolis. With just about everything that you could need within walking distance, it doesnt take long to fall in love with this neighborhood. Its so nice being minutes from the Monon and within walking distance of not just one but two record stores! Plus the staff has been very professional and helpful whenever I have needed them!

Moved here after a HORRIBLE experience with another property/management group. So far, I absolutely love it. Best management group and I love the office staff! Love the location and the apartments.

I love living at MK. The only downsides are that reaching the office is difficult, parking spaces in the garage are tight, and there is a parking lot but visitors cannot park in it so visitor parking is a challenge. My apartment is gorgeous and comfortable, there are outdoor gas grilling and seating areas, elevators, and a great package pickup system. I continue to stay here because I feel safe here and it is a great location.

My family and I have lived here for over 6 months now and are really enjoying it. Its in a wonderful location- close to Broad Ripple, the Monon, and more. And its right on the Red Line which means that downtown and other places are easily accessible. Meagan and Nick are friendly and are responsive to our concerns. We did work through some billing errors the first few months, and Meagan was diligent in resolving the issue. The internet is fast (fiber) and the insulation is good. We hear some sound from the unit above us but its overall very quiet. The community amenities are nice and we frequently use the BBQ grills. Were glad we live at the MK!

I actually did not have the pleasure to rent an apartment here, BUT I did extensively consider it. Nick went above and beyond in allowing me to see various floorplans (more than once), and even helped out showing me rooms at sister properties. The MK is great for anyone considering.

The property manager is working with the towing company and having multiple cars a day towed from this location. I literally watched him call a towing company to have someone’s car towed that went to the orange theory class, it’s illegal since they only have one parking sign for the entire parking lot and legally they need two. It’s terrible business ethics especially during a pandemic. After speaking to others that rent and also have business in that building it’s apparently been a practice the property manager does, he left a woman and child stranded in the rain calling my car to be towed when I was parked in a spot that had no towing sign nearby whatsoever.

The sound from other apartments has had a profound effect on my sleep and general well being. It is in part a result of the high number of college students who live in the building, who play music at a loud volume late into the night and in part the very thin walls and flooring. If you value sleep and quiet neighbors, I would look elsewhere.

I cant say enough good things about the MK! My husband and I moved here in July and we absolutely love it. The location is perfect: were walking distance (or a 2-minute Red Line ride-- theres a bus stop right in front of the building!) from restaurants and bars in downtown Broad Ripple, but far enough from the hustle and bustle that we enjoy peaceful nights in, with little to no noise from traffic on College. The building itself is beautiful. From the outside BBQ area to our unit, the design and functionality of the MK is incredible. Management is incredibly responsive and their availability is more than reasonable. If youre thinking about living here, you wont regret it!

Couldnt post my full review so am only posting the negatives (there are several positives though). Overall, nice apartment with very indifferent / poor management team that treats tenants unequally (in my view of course). Better value elsewhere. For context: I am single, live alone, work in the area and have lived in the apartment for 16 months (18 month lease)(1) Management has misrepresented some facts (told me my apartment was on the top floor but now I have a neighbor that makes noise constantly including during quiet hours which they do nothing about). (2) Management treats tenants unequally (not sure if it is discrimination since that is hard to prove legally). Duration that guests are allowed to stay is only enforced selectively and management will be amenable to lease modifications for some but not all. (3) The paralegal team for the MK is difficult to deal with from a commercial perspective. I asked for changes to the lease and they said the lease can’t be amended (the lease clearly states that a rider / appendix could be attached that would supersede any terms in the lease). When I brought this point up, they said I need to contact legal counsel (even though language is actually very clear and the lease is a commonly used form, not a bespoke legal document). The MK will usually default to saying you need to seek legal counsel as a way of scaring / discouraging you. (4) Regarding the MK trying to pinch pennies (a complaint in a prior review), The MK was refusing to reimburse the credit I received from the internet provider (since it is included in rent) so they were effectively picking up the refund (vs. me receiving the benefit). (5) The MK generally does not take responsibility for anything (they didnt have my apartment set up for internet but blamed the internet provider) and they will not notify you if they change services (example would be change of service without notification would be mailroom notifications). The MK’s response when I brought these examples up was to talk with the third party providers or seek legal counsel (even if the fault is theirs). (6) I would say to exit left out of the apartment complex is inconvenient since the light is red for an inordinate amount of time. I see most people just run the red light or just take a right and then a few more rights to go where they want. (7) The freezer door is typically blocked by the counter space near the stove (at least in my apartment) so that is inconvenient. (8) I will agree with the reviewer regarding the noise. If you are not on the fourth floor, it will sound like everyone is stomping around upstairs (in addition to relatively thin walls).

I moved to The MK from a downtown location 2 months ago and so far I have loved every second of it. The apartment complex is beautifully designed and the indoor spaces are all gorgeous. The MKs professional management is excellent and wonderfully responsive. The neighborhood is a whole other level of serenity, convenience and beautiful views.

Not upfront about the details of the apartment.Don’t get me wrong, the apartment units look really nice and are clean. However, given the price point for these “luxury” apartments you would think that they would place light fixtures in all areas of the unit. There are light switches and wiring set up for the dining, living room and bedroom sections but no lights.I thought that that this was just an oversight, so I called the leasing office to report it and I was informed that those lighting areas were “optional”. I would have to buy my own fixtures and pay an additional $75 for the installation of EACH one! Given that I’m already paying a pretty penny for this apartment, I expected to be able to see in my bedroom. The gall I must have had to expect that lol!The kicker: this detail was not disclosed to me at move-in or during lease signing. They want to nickel and dime you for everything. Tip for the management: instead of gifting your tenants bottles of Prosecco, how about you include light fixtures in all of the liveable areas of the apartment unit.No wonder that not even a quarter of your units are occupied. Not re-signing once my lease is up!
