Looked at an apartment here with my Guy today. The apartments have a lot of square footage compared to others & the washer/ dryer in the walk in closet is brilliant. Grounds are beautiful & you can kayak there. The amenities are sweet! The drawback for us was that the apartment was very outdated & had carpet. The best part was the leasing person, Rosie; she was so friendly & genuine. She took time showing us around & was knowledgeable & answered every single question we had. She was a gem!
I have lived here for almost 2 years and would recommend this apartment complex to anyone. Top notch staff in the office and the best maintenance staff anyone could ask for. Very friendly and extremely helpful with all work orders. And extremely efficient in getting the work done in a timely manner. Love the grounds which are kept in excellent condition with lovely flowers and shrubs and trees all over. The property manager and office staff are also very helpful and friendly. They follow through with things and send work orders to the maintenance staff as soon as they hang up the phone. Definitely if interested in an apartment then I suggest you look here.
I was extremely unhappy due to the fact that my car got towed about 3 weeks ago in the middle of the night. I live in a two bedroom apartment, but was only given one parking space for two cars. I came home one Friday and ALL the visitor parking spaces were taken which is where I usually park the extra car. I had the option to pay an extra monthly fee for another parking space, but with the high cost of this apartment, I already felt like I was overpaying on rent so of course I did not opt for the extra parking space. Anyways, I went ahead and parked on the side of the street because I literally had nowhere else to park unless I were to illegally take someone elses parking space. My car got towed and I was told that cars are only towed by the request of the property.... So incredibly frustrating! I was late to work the next day and had to haggle with the towing company for extra 2 days, all of which would have never happened if Somerset Lakes didnt request for my car to be towed. This is just a way for Somerset Lakes to try to force me to buy a monthly carport for my extra vehicle which already is a ridiculous thing to have to do due to the lack of parking in a PRIVATE COMPLEX. This isnt Downtown Indy... I shouldnt have to be searching for 20 minutes for a parking space on the weekends.I wish to be reimbursed for this massive inconvenience, but based off other reviews Ive seen here, its doubtful that itll happen and that Ill simply receive a We apologize for the inconvenience sort of response. I plan on posting on every source of information to ensure that people realize that the beautiful views and spacious homes are NOT worth the stress and tiring conversations over minor issues that Somerset Lakes wont assist with. For Somerset Lakes: If you wish to resolve this issue, please offer a reimbursement and Ill gladly reconsider my opinion of the complex/management. However, if you simply wish to respond and say Im so sorry for your experience without any impactful action on your part, then you can keep your hollow words to yourself.
Wonderful and beautiful place! Staff are fantastic and so personable! Lake views is wonderful! No breed restrictions on dogs either!
It’s not worth for the amount I paid, it’s too expensive. The apartment is too old.Poor service, they don’t want to spend money for maintenance..........They are not flexible to deal with people ......I am not going to to be one day after the lease is over........
This is a nice looking complex, but keep in mind there is insufficient parking for residents. In addition, in instituting their new parking policies, they did not clearly mark no parking areas and then had residents vehicles towed in the middle of the night on a weekday, and refused to reimburse us for the cost. For as much as I am paying for these apartments, I should not have to deal with an apartment complex with no consideration for my livelihood. This was simply a ploy to force residents to purchase the optional carports at an extra monthly charge. Do not get lured by the cost of the rent; the add-ons may make another complex a much better option.
Chill area. I personally have never had any issues. Each unit has a splendid view of the pond, parking is always available close by, and my neighbors are friendly during the rare times I do see them. Since each entrance only host a few units, privacy is a huge plus.
It looks good on the outside but they have serious problems within. Numerous times Ive waken up with no hot water. More times than I would like to count only for them to reset the water heater just so it can happen again. In the winter their apartments dont heat up past 69 degrees and all they can say is they cant do anything about it. Try upgrading your water heaters and furnaces. Despite my heat being on last night, I woke up to an apartment that was 65 degrees. Some may like it chilly but some dont want to be shivering when they wake up and Im sure that will make the electric bill high since its been running all day and night trying to heat up the apartment. For the amount of rent they charge, I say go somewhere else!
If I could give negative stars I would! For over 3 years now, water is constantly being shut off. They always claim the water is fixed, but it never is - how about hiring contractors that fix things right the 1st time?!This used to be a very clean, quiet apartment community, with pleasant residents. Now they are allowing some of the trashiest people to live here - likely because they are allowing HUD people to live here now, just so they can keep the money coming in for their overpriced, old apartments. On top of that, I have trashy neighbors that smell up the hallway with their cigarette smoke and have loud, violent arguments, do drugs and the property manager knows about all of it and still allows them to continue living here. Its apparent that the staff and Gene B Glick corporate only care about their bottom line and the money that they can make and not making this a pleasant place to live. Actions speak louder than words!
We have lived here for a little under 2 weeks now. I completely regret signing a lease here for a number of reasons. The first of which is that our apartment was dirty beyond reason when we moved in. I am assuming the last residents did a terrible job at cleaning and staff did not clean the place before we moved in. There was black mold in both toilets, clumps of dust in the vents, and large sticky brown spots inside the fridge. Our building mailbox master lock is completely missing so anyone who comes in has access to all 4 units mail. I dont even use my key, I just pull the whole unit out and take our units mail. We requested this be fixed 3 times now. So maintenance comes and replaces just our single mail box lock. So the whole buildings mail box can still be opened.... Our master bathroom ceiling above the toilet leaks water throughout the day, so it is impossible to use the toilet without water dripping on you continuously. The worst part is that our washing machine has been broken since we moved in and we have called the office 4 times to come fix it. Maintenance has not showed up once. So 7 full days now without clean clothes. My fiance is a nurse in the ER who HAS to have clean clothes. We have only been here 2 weeks and I am already looking forward to moving out. I have lived in Indianapolis for 5 years in various apartment complexes with this being the most expensive (by a lot) so far. This has also been one of the worst experiences I have had (again, weve only lived here less than 2 weeks). Do not be deceived by the show apartment they set up, it is much nicer and well kept than the rest of the units in the complex. The only thing nice about this place is the lake view and the location. And for a bonus, to access 2 of the 3 entrances (going in or out) you have to pay $70 for a fab. Thats $140 for 2 fabs. Also, the main gates entry box is located in the WORST area, if you turn right into the complex you have to angle the car in such a specific way to be able to reach the number pad that many cars have been scraped (you can see all the marks where they hit) which results in me having to undo my seat belt and lean half my body out the car to get to the number pad, just to get in the gate. There are many other complexes in the area similarly priced that I regret not seeing, we chose this complex because of the surrounding lakes and so far that has been a mistake.EDIT: Our washer was finally replaced because it was completely broken. Our dryer also did not heat up since there was piles of dryer lint stuck in the pipes leading outside. So neither our washer and dryer worked upon moving in, which resulted in almost 3 weeks without a washing machine. We were given quarters to use for the building washer and dryer in a commonplace which unfortunately had cockroaches. Otherwise, everything has been fixed. We do still have to hand wash dishes since the dishwasher is old and too dirty to use. These apartments should be priced about 2/3s to 3/4s of what they are charging.
Lived here for a year lake views are wonderful and security is awesome and comforting. However parking sucks, if you have two or more vehicles forget trying to park in front of your building or at least near it, had to park in the grass unload my groceries and park my car what seemed to be half a mile from my building.
There is no hot water in the evenings in our unit. Is this the common issue in the community or just our unit ?After complaining they just came and saw and nothing seems to have changed. We feel so stuck signing a lease. Tired of getting all the issues fixed here, one after the other😞
New resident, great views, nature and nice neighbors of all ages. Relaxing and friendly staff and residents.
Great view!
