Wow what a joke been living here for bout 6 years now dealt with bed bugs mice and mold... My toddler picked up a dead mouse! Also being over charged for equipment I should have NEVER BEEN CHARGED FOR AND A TRANSFER THAT NEVER TOOK PLACE FOR A SECTION 8 VOUCHER I WAS PROMISED THAT I COULD USE HERE! LOL 😂 WHAT A RIP OFF AND RENT KEEPS INCREASING DUE TO THE FACT THEY INCLUDE WATER AND SEWER INTO OUR RENT NOW BECAUAE OF A MAIN WATER LEAK ISSUE THAT BUSTED NOT EVEN A YEAR AGO! THEY LIE ! DONT MOVE HERE NOT WORTH THE HASSLE$

Ac went out on Saturday. Put an emergency maintenance request in on Monday. They came over and verified that the compressor is bad. Ordered parts on Tuesday that arrived Wednesday for them to install (was explicitly told they’d be installed Wednesday). Got home from work Wednesday and the parts are sitting there by the ac unit not installed. Called Thursday was told they’d be installed. Still sitting there end of day Thursday. Nothing gets repaired timely. Constant loud music and kids running around without their parents getting into stuff. Good luck getting office staff to answer the phone and don’t even bother leaving a voicemail because they won’t call you back. Yea… don’t move here if you have a choice.

If I could post zero stars I would. The bed bugs and managements unwillingness to do anything about them was ridiculous. Not to mention the mold. Our floor by the balcony was sinking in due to rotting. Junkies overdosing in front of our building. Constant gunshots had us ducking in our own home.Overall HORRIBLE experience. And when It came time to pay for the “damages” they wouldn’t answer a single phone call until it hit collections. 100% would not recommend English Village and any apartments ran by Birge&Held

Absolutely atrocious would not recommend. The bed bugs and mold caused me to break my lease. I didn’t want to die

I have lived there about 1 year and a half. My refrigerator does not work the office says theyre. Fixing it but dont its been a month dont know what happened last year they went down hill in managment. Contact who. The girl at the front desk just blows alot of smoke says all is resolved. Nothing gets done

I’m only giving 1 star because it’s required for the review. Only move here if you absolutely have to! I’ve lived here for a little over 2 years now and I can’t wait to move. There have been times when maintenance came to my apartment, didn’t leave a note, and left my door unlocked and I had to call the office to make sure it was in fact maintenance. There’s never any parking. They give you a parking sticker when you move over here, but it’s pointless; everyone parks wherever they want to. There are 3 parking spots available for residents in front of my building. The other 9 are for visitors and handicap.If you get off after sunset, expect to park and walk far in the dark to get home because there’s no lighting except by the mailbox. No washer-dryer hook ups in the units, so there’s a “laundry room” on the second floor of every building. It’s okay and convenient when the machines are working and we’re not in the midst of a pandemic, but the times they were broken, it took 6-8 weeks to get fixed.

So I live here currently and had a car break in 8/24/20. I tried to warn other residents by posting on the resident portal, simply to lock up their cars and really just watch their surroundings more, be more aware. My post did not make it there. I wanted to warn others who already stay here to tighten up. That was all. I check the portal once a week just to stay in the know, So since that post hasnt made it on the resident site, I am speaking here. I am bothered that I couldnt warn the other people living here. I am shocked my post was not allowed on the website. Nothing negative was going to typed about English Village Apartments, crime happens CAR break-ins happen. Life happens. So a simple warning post to residence who already live here, has NOW touched everyones eyes. I have integrity and couldnt just not speak up. Simple warning for US ONLY, became a review for yall.

Trash everywhere people come out here dumping and nobody’s does nth about it but wanna take the rent up I wouldn’t recommend anyone to live there

English Village started off ROUGH, but in the end we were satisfied. Upon moving in, WE HAD A BAD ROACH PROBLEM (came from the neighbors) so we took care of the pest problem ourselves. I lived on English Village Lane near the mailboxes. Our street was peaceful, never had an issue. Maintenance was not the best here, they never replaced nor fixed my damn dishwasher, they took FOREVER to fix the things they did FINALLY get around to fixing, so thankfully nothing major ever needed to be repaired. Our apartment was newly remodeled, very clean, comfortable and cozy. Holly and Hillary inside the office were great. Keep up the good work ladies. Hopefully, your maintenance team gets better in time. Overall, I had a nice experience renting here at English Village Apartments.I will miss my apartment! Its always scary moving into a new place.

Absolutely Horrible

English Village apartments are a great affordable option on the Eastside. Holly & Megan are very welcoming to all renters & repair needs. The benefits of living here are the apartments are close to great Italian, Asian and Mexican dining and my daily commute to my office downtown is 15-20 minutes with no highway routes. I have been here over a year and I would recommend the apartments to anyone. Check English Village Apartments out!

Loved my spacious one bedroom! Neighbors were very friendly. Staff and maintenance were so accommodating and kind.Great price and would recommend to anyone!

I’ve lived at English Village for about one year now and will definitely be renewing my lease when the time comes. The leasing agents have always been courteous and the maintenance staff generally responds to issues fairly promptly.The property itself is nice and quiet, it’s kind of hidden back from the main road with lots of trees. I live in one of the remodeled units, so I love my hardwood floors and sleek countertops and appliances. The location is great because we are just minutes away from grocery stores, the highway, and everything out on Washington Street.Great value for the price and it’s a nice place to call home.

Havent got a chance to move in just yet, applied for a 2 bedroom apartment online still awaiting results/call back. I just wanted to add my comment because I was able to speak with 2 of the nicest ladies in office. First it was Ms. Hillary she spoke with me briefly over the phone about how to apply and all i needed to get in, then i had the pleasure of talking with Ms. Karin (sorry if i spelled the names wrong) early this week about receiving my app online and what else was needed. Ms. Karin was very sweet and patient with me, clear and to the point! I have dealt with other apartment office employees and these 2 ladies are by far the nicest and patient people Ive encountered in a long while! I pray I get the opportunity for me and my daughters to get to know the whole staff a little better! Many thanks for being so sweet to me as well patient.

I would not recommend this apartment at all. The office staff seemed nice at first but upon moving out they claimed I didnt put in money down for my deposit ($0), but I have a paper saying that I payed in $125 for my deposit. I moved out in 2016 and still have not received my deposit back. My neighbors played their music so loud that I could often feel their music in my apartment. The walls are so thin, I could also hear my neighbors fighting and even just having normal conversation. I ended up moving out about a half year of living there because I didnt feel safe in my own apartment.

Wouldnt recommend anybody to lived here, I currently live here now its seem quite sometimes but IMPD get call on the property a lot and the apartment complex to cheap to have a courtesy officer lived on the property and this property do not have security cameras and I asked the property manager do they have a courtesy officer she lied to me and told me they do but he lives at Pleasant run apartments then I call over there and the manager from that property said its not true that he patrolled both properties and and recently two apartment units was almost broke into, I asked could I be a courtesy officer since Im law enforcement but oh well cant wait to my lease is up and go somewhere more safer.

Hopefully you read my review entirely, if you dont youll really miss out! I was reading some of the reviews, I couldnt help but feel disappointed. Ive lived here now going on 4 months, I wanted to wait about that amount of time before writing my review. I took the time to observe this Community, The Staff and the Maintenance men. I honestly cant say enough positive of all. The Manager Holly is upbeat, incredible personality. I appreciate her. I had questions when I moved in and have had some since then, as busy as she is she ALWAYS takes time to listen and helps when needed. She realizes that my dog is my family she pays attention to Ginger whenever she sees her, so of course I think shes fantastic!! Morgan in the leasing office is warm and welcoming as well! ALWAYS a smile, always a sense of humor. They both continuously make you feel that you are in fact HOME! I couldnt possibly not make mention of the Maintenance men. Never have I seen them at the office, parking lot or driving through without them bursting with hellos, is everything alright. I feel as though Ive known them all my life! Again I feel like HOME! I myself have not had issues why you ask? My apartment is perfect! Without a doubt I know if I need them they will be there. The Community is clean, inviting and extremely quiet 7 days 7 nights, I sleep like a baby. I could live here forever.!

Good complex, Ive had no issues here nor have I ever felt unsafe. Property manager is great Ive had no issues with her as well.

Wouldnt recommend this apartment complex to nobody at all. Rent way to high & always have mice problems in my apartment building super gross. Also a lot people dont stay long with having no courtesy officer on the premises a lot breaks in have happened I even had to get Xfinity home alarm and security system install in my unit for my safety . So happy my lease is up this month worst experience ever. Had to call the health department on the complex also my neighbor call the health department too.

I put in an application on line and never got a response. I tried calling never got an answer. The phone prompts never worked when I did get in touch with someone she was from a different location. I advised her I wanted a refund because I have not heard or gotten any response from the staff she said she would take my information and have someone call me. That never happened I received a generic email that stated I had insufficient rental history. I have lived at the same place for 4years. Also I had a criminal history lol traffic tickets or a criminal history. it seem quiet and nice but oh well.

Place kind of sucks maintenance is really slow moved 8 months ago and the things broken when I moved in still aint fixed my porch is rotted. Still nobody even came out and looked at it. Cant wait for lease to be up terrible place to live .

Absolutely worst place I ever lived. Apartment was nasty when I first moved in. The carpet was old and not cleaned when I moved in. When they cleaned the carpet they soaked my couch and bed where mold began to becuase of the water damage causing me to get new furnature! They threatened to call the police and animal control on my dog even though there were other dogs living in the same apartment area as my own!! NOTE TO OWNERS DO NOT ALLOW DOGS TO LIVE ON THE SAME FLOOR AS THE SHOW MODEL!! I had to cage my dog after this even though I paid for him to live there. I was also accused of having more pets than I had which clearly you could see my 10lbs Jack Russell was the only one living there. Not only this but you smell weed every day along with drug deals and gun shots every other night..not kidding!! I did not feel safe at all living there!! You cannot move any furniture such as couches without taking the screen door off. There are no places to park unless you get home at 3pm and do not leave. Cars parking in designated parking permits are never towed and many times they are always parked where they shouldnt be. I told management plenty times and even changed my number on the website and still they called and harrassed my bf to get in contact with me. BOTHER THOSE THAT DO NOT PAY THERE RENT ON TIME AND GET MORE COMPLAINTS THEN THE WOMEN THAT PAYS ON TIME AND GOES TO WORK AND SUPPORTS HERSELF!!! I DO NOT RECCOMEND LIVING HERE AT ALL!!!!!

I have lived here for 5 months and am ready for my lease to end to be able to move. Maintenance is very slow, I am still trying to get things fixed from when I moved in. Ive also had things break repeatedly because of not being repaired correctly. My AC has been been broken repeatedly. When my boyfriend looked at it, it looked as though the person who put the filter in last put it in wet and broke it. One day I took our dog out and he almost stepped on a USED NEEDLE. I told the management about this and they said there is nothing they could do about it. I can also hear my neighbors fighting and listening to porn at all hours of the day.

I loved living here but I wish they had washer and dryers in the apartments! I would still be here if the did!!!

I wouldnt recommend this place at all, I had lived there for a few years, and had problems with maint the whole time, takes them weeks, even up to a month to fix something. There was things that were broken when we moved in and were never fixed the whole time we lived there. The Only good maint guy is Jimmy and only good one in the office is Holly, everyone else treated us badly. Police are called on property quite a bit, and all our neighbours were noisy and smoked pot! It always came through our door and smelled up our apartment. Not very pleasant!!! Rent is high for what you get.

Horrible place to live. The entryway are disgusting, dangerous surroundings an managment that does not about tenant saftey. The police called a certain group of teens that visit the property, terrorists that put fear in the tenants. The price for such small of an apartment is a rip-off!!!!! The staff DO NOT CARE about the tenants....2 fires in our building and management has yet to clean it up! I wish i could show you how the rigged the fence when the teens set the first fire...but not two months ago when the tenant got threaten.
