Nothing but terrible experiences living here I DO NOT recommend.First the office staff is unhelpful once you sign a lease. They will ignore your emails and dismiss your concerns.Maintenance never calls ahead, they won’t even let you put in work requests unless they can enter whenever they want. Which is unannounced 3 weeks later. They also make everyone sign up for valet trash which is a huge scam. $45 a month on top of rent just for trash and a giant trash bin that they expect you to bring in and out of your unit every day with all the germs and bugs from outside. They add additional processing fees for everything and make you pay for every single utility. It adds to well over $200 above your actual rent just for these.Literally counting the days until we can move out.
I am finishing up my first year of living at this property. Overall, it has been an okay experience with a few notable exceptions.Pros:- For the price, you get a lot of space and the location couldnt be better.- The apartment is of a decent quality and the property is well maintained and landscaped.Cons:-When anything goes wrong, it is almost impossible to get a hold of someone. There were multiple times when I would put in a maintenance request and it would be marked as completed online when nothing had been done.- The office uses a call center to answer questions about leasing. We were thinking about renewing and called to set up a tour, but after being told someone would get back to us about setting up a time, I never heard from them again. The office on the property closes frequently and it often takes 3-4 calls to get a response. After leaving a message, I have never received a call back. I always have to be the one to call again and follow up.- Our water has been shut off (for maintenance? Never clear, but not because of non-payment) MULTIPLE times for extended periods of time with little to no warning. We have gotten an email about it twice, but there have been at least two other times when no notice was given. The first email only came AFTER the water was off and the second came a day before the water was shut off, but said it would only be off that day, not the next. Both were severely inconvenient and when I called to ask the second time, they said it would be back on momentarily but did not come back on for two hours after having already been out for two before that point.- Maintenance requests take a really long time to get completed. This isnt the fault of the maintenance staff itself, as theyre always very nice and I know they are understaffed, but very annoying as a tenant and a general reflection of management attitudes.
Between the air conditioner and the hot water always going out nothing ever gets fixed in a timely matter. I been without hot water for over 24 hours I have called, sent request through the portal and email and still haven’t seen or heard from nobody. This isn’t the 1st time that this have happened.
These apartments once upon a time ago used to be a blessing for me when I was in need of a place to call home. Now I feel that I have over stayed my welcome and can see these apartments for what they truly are. Lets put it this way I do not plan to stay another year. These apartments are the worse and are extremely over priced. Not worth it. The maintenance here is horrible. It will take them about two months before anyone ever shows up to fix anything and the apartments will just send out letters saying be patient. The foundation of the apartments are just as bad. Everything is old and falls off. Even their newer like apartments are bad. I have had the worst experience ever since they moved me into a NEWER unit. For example, my sink didnt work for 2 months and they had to fix twice, my bathtub faucet stopped working had to have it replaced, my ceiling spit open due to water damage that had to be fixed, the side of the wall paneling outside my apartment fell off randomly one day same for by my patio, etc. The list goes on and on.These apartments have a super bad ant problem. I hit my wall and ants came out of my wall socket. (I actually havent told them this part yet, so this is on me but then again a letter recently came out stating maintenance is behind and theres a high volume of request so to be patient, so you can see why I dont rely or put in a request anymore). Then there is the pool. Good luck trying to go swimming. The pool is rarely open and if there is any forecast of bad weather or just rain or lighting even if it never happens the pool is closed. Like today, its Sunny, no cloud in sight but the pool is closed until Sunday (Its Friday BTW) but because the weather forecast says its supposed to storm later in the day and supposedly Saturday too, the pool is closed.Like if the weather is fine at the current moment the pool should be open, give people the option of if they want to swim or not. If the weather begins to change its nothing to go out and simply say the weather is changing and is about to storm please exit the pool, but as we all know Indiana weather is soso and dont get me started on the patio situation. You can not have anything on your patio/balcony if it is not patio/balcony appropriate. Cant store nothing on your patio (there is no storage on the patio unless you live in a townhouse nor is there a fence or any privacy surrounding your patio unless you live in a townhouse)No grills at all no matter if you live on top or bottom. if you want to grill you have to use the grill at the front office only. Long story short because you can clearly see I have a lot to say living here is like living on a campus in a dorm, it sucks. Do better Avery Point, because 2 years ago these were nice apts. What happened?
Very nice apartments and a great location between Castleton and Fishers. Has a fenced in pool and, if you can believe it, a dog park complete with agility training equipment! This will be perfect for my pups.I spoke with Tim in the office and he answered all of my questions and was very welcoming! He was even knowledgeable about other complexes in the area and why Avery Point is the best. Give him a call, youll be glad you did!
I have lived at Avery Point for nearly 9 years. Lacy and the rest of the office staff are very quick in resolving any issues I have with my apartment, which there have been very few. The maintenance staff is usually able to resolve any concerns within 24 hours, unless it was a major repair. Overall, I would definitely recommend living in this neighborhood.
When I first moved in, 4 years ago the property was managed by a different company. At that time I was fairly pleased with my place, quick response from the staff, and maintenance. Since then the management company has changed and so has the customer service. In May my AC quit working, this had happened before, but it hadnt been a big deal. previously a maintenance man came out that night, tried to fix it and/or gave me a temporary unit until he could. This time, it took them 22 days to fix it. I called practically every day and requested assistance because my second story apartment was over 80 degrees. They told me that their maintenance men were working as quickly as they could and would get to me when they can. When they finally came to work on my unit, the guy said that the majority of the complex was having issues because the proper maintenance wasnt done at the end of the last warm season and they only have 2 guys that were certified to work on AC units. I complained to the office that because of their lack of response I had large electric bills and they did nothing. Now its less than 2 months later and my indoor unit is leaking and not cooling. The staff are nice, but someone needs to step up their customer service game!! The AC units inside need replaced and a new management company is needed. I do not recommend living her, if it can be avoided- its not worth the hassle.
I am currently on my 5th lease with this apartment complex. I will say that overall, my experiences have been good.Tim and John in the leasing office are always very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, and the pricing is reasonable considering how much space you get. I love having a dog park available, the pool is well-maintained, and the gym (while very small) offers an convenient alternative to a gym membership. There have been issues with maintenance repairs not being performed in what I personally consider a timely manner, but I believe this is due to the complex not having enough maintenance staff. If they can resolve this with hiring an adequate number of staff for the sizable complex, I would have no complaints with Avery Point.
Avery Pointe is completely unprofessional. I have been living in this apartment since July of 2020 and my fence has been broke the enire time, never once have they came and looked at it! My air conditioner was broke when we first moved in, they come in WEEKS later to fix it. Our carpets were completely soaked thats how bad the air conditioner was. Its April 2021 our air conditioner is broke once again. We call them April 8 and they tell us they arent fixing it because it isnt 80 degrees. Its April 26, we call them and tell them it will be 82 degrees tomorrow and they tell us they still cant fix it because its 70 degrees out today and its not an emergency. This is by the far the worst apartment Ive lived in.
I can truly say I’m so pleased with this apartment complex and the maintenance staff. I feel safe here which is a huge thing for me. I can only remember one lady’s name their I think it’s lacy but everyone is a blessing #homesweethome
Hello,I wanted to take the time to thank Meagan, Tim, Haley and Jason for there continuous professionalism and responsiveness to any and all apartment issues, they have made apartment living a little better.Thank you all so very muchThis team rocks!
Haley Love helped me with everything I needed. Great place and excellent people. I would definitely recommend these apartments.
I want to thank the Avery Point team for their assistance last fall when my cat went missing. They took the time to send out a community-wide alert to residents to keep an eye out which really meant a lot to me. During the process of looking for my cat I spent quite a bit of time searching in and around nearby apartment complexes and while Im not here to disparage any other communities, I must say the experience made me appreciate even more my good fortune in having found Avery Point nearly ten years ago. When factoring in the value I think its among the very best apartment complexes in the Castleton area. The entire office staff has always been very helpful and professional and responsive - many thanks to the entire team including Bethel, Lacy, Tim, John, Haley and others who have assisted. And my experiences with neighbors have also been positive.Definitely give strong consideration to Avery Point if you are relocating to the Castleton area.-Brian
I have lived here at Avery point for three years... but this last year has been HORRIBLE! I have had problems with my water heater it does not stay on and they showed me how to turn it back on so I would stop calling ! My dishwasher leaks and no longer works when I turn it on it smells like it is about to blow up, I told them I needed a new one and they didn’t even seem to care about that ! Someone had a leak next door and they drilled 3 holes in my wall over a month ago and still have not came back to fix it! Also the drawers in the kitchen are falling through the cabinets! Ughhh I can’t make this up! I do not want to live like this especially how much I pay in rent ! I have tried to call the office no one ever answers the Maitnance line is a JOKE. Get me out of this lease already !
Bethel, the new property along with the rest of the staff, have done a great job in handling any situations that have come up regarding issues at the complex. Anytime I would email her she would respond quickly and help me with the issue. The grounds are kept clean and the people who live there are all extremely friendly.
Lacy is so nice and helpful in the leasing office. Always puts a smile on my face when I get to talk to positive people 😊
Tim is awesome, he helped me get approved within a day of applying! When looking for an apartment, you have to work with him. The staff is very friendly and the community is well kept. Im very excited to be moving in soon!
Stopped in the office Monday and Tim was wonderful! He answered all of my questions and helped me navigate my options! Unfortunately they did not have an apartment during my time frame. Definitely consider them for your future residence!
The staff members are nice and friendly I enjoyed working with them on the process to get accepted I feel at home already thank you guys so much
I am now on my third lease at Avery Point. I love the location and my floorplan, but what I appreciate most is the quiet community, how well the grounds are taken care of and the quick response to maintenance requests. I have recommended this community to family and friends and they are happy here also!
OMG! I cant wait to move here! TIM was so inviting and the office staff was so nice and amazing... with covid everyone has been so stand-offish...but I felt like I was home here!...I will be applying!
Have been living here for a year now. Its very clean quite community. The Management is always great. Hailey at the front office was very knowledgeable and very paitent with my questions.
Haley was so helpful while giving us a tour! Made sure we were aware of all our options and was very polite with all of our questions!
The website is excellent
Lived here for 4 years and never had any problems! Having in-unit washer and dryer along with carport was excellent. Maintenance was prompt when I had an issue where my power went out. Neighbors were nice. Id move back here if I ever needed to rent an apartment again.
The maintenance tech Jason did an outstanding job he was very professional and completed his work in a expedient manner great service all around Avery point
Super friendly staff, Bethel helped me out so so much! Always courteous leasing agents and timely maintenance. Thank you!!!
This has unfortunately been the worst customer/resident experience I have ever had. The leasing office does not answer the phone or respond to emails whether its about my lease or allowing someone into my apartment to release toxic chemicals without my consent as was required. Each of the several times I have visited the office in person the manager has been unavailable and my request has either not been relayed to them or they simply failed to contact me. Every single time. I literally cannot get in touch with anyone that can help me. I tried contacting the management company multiple ways but no luck there either. Besides all of that, this apartment community is priced as much or more than other communities that are nicer and in better locations. I got a decent rate on my unit because it lacked the new updates but otherwise I strongly advise anyone looking here to go elsewhere.
Great people in the office and awesome maintenance team there when u need them this is a great place to live and they will work with you !!!!
After reading the reviews I will not be wasting my time viewing them. This place has the same issues Im getting away from in my current apartment complex, with the only exception..... we started out with a bad property management company and went from bad to WORSE with the current one. Another thing that is MIND BLOWING is when your residence have tried repeatedly to have their issues resolved but nothing happens and they have to resort to posting a review...which you then decide to respond to because it makes you look BAD, heres the thing you should have taken the TIME to CARE before it reached this stage. POOR POOR POOR MANAGEMENT.
Run, dont walk, away!I lived here for 5 years, my wife did for 6. This is one of the worst managed properties I have ever experienced and it has increasingly worsened as time went on. Maintenance is horrific. They are either not present, non-responsive, or reek of illicit substances when they finally do show up. We had water damage from the apartment above us for over a year. It was still there when we moved out. We went without heat for four days in the middle of winter. The lock on our apartment broke and I had to call a locksmith out because emergency maintenance did not respond. We went over a week without a working dishwasher. Etc.The office staff seems nice, but they do not seem sincere and do not follow-up. They seem like snake oil salesman who just want you to sign the dotted line and then you are insignificant to them. In fact, we are still waiting for our referral credit from some people who moved in over six months ago.In short, I recommend you avoid this property like the plague unless you enjoy poor service and maintenance, a community with a lot of drugs running through it, and loud music/neighbors due to paper thin walls.Update 4/17/20 - We finally received our referral credit from last September.
Had a few issues with my apartment... but I made a maintenance request, and Brian quickly and efficiently fixed all my needs very much appreciated!
I really enjoyed the tour Haley gave me, she was very sweet and informing .
Always say they have an apartment to show me according to my preferences but it is a wasted trip once I get there.
I am not a resident but I was close to becoming one. The apartments are in a wonderful location and for what is offered, its a great price. I just wanted to take the time to say that Tim is by far one of THE BEST leasing agents I have ever come across. He really sold me this property and even though I went elsewhere, I wanted to stress just how amazing he was and how nice the apartments are. I would definitely consider this place in the future, primarily because of him. Anyone looking, please go to Tim and be be amazed. This is a great property to consider !!! 😊
Currently waiting on maintenance, AGAIN. Stove shorted out and arced in november, now anytime you turn on a burner there is smoke and burnt plastic smell coming from the back panel. We had to cut electrical from the stove because we are scared of a fire. Ive submitted 2 request and made 3 phone calls all within the last 72 hours with no response. Weve submitted all info to our lawyer to sue for gross negligence and we have a really good case due to the proof of neglect. RUN AWAY SO FAST AND DONT THINK TWICE.
Do not move here. This is only week 3 for me. So many things in the apartment need to be fixed. I have called several times to try and get my toilet repaired that is full of urine! It will not flush even after being plunged! This is like day 4 or 5. This is just ridiculous!!!!
Awful experience here - run away. Ive lived here two years and it has gotten worse and worse. Maintenance is awful - it took them a week to repair my furnace during a cold snap in November, my HVAC has never been serviced during my time here (despite me begging due to allergies), and the office staff is less than helpful. I always have trouble getting in contact with them. Ive sent multiple emails and called, but the only thing that works is to go sit in their office until they take care of the problem. The office make the community seem fantastic, but Ive had to call the police several times about my patio being broken into and neighbors having shouting matches in the parking lot in the middle of the night. 22 days until I move out and I cant wait.
MAINTENANCE IS TERRIBLE! Consistently told that the maintenance team is short staffed but that is not my problem. If my bank account was “short staffed” on the 1st of the month, I would be penalized. The complex should hold up their end of the deal. In reality, I’d expect a rent concession but I know better. It took 1 weeks & 2 office visits to get pertinent work orders fixed. When I reported that my refrigerator light was out, the work order was cancelled and I received a voicemail saying I would need to visit the office, pickup a bulb, and install it myself because maintenance was so far behind. I’ve never experienced something so absurd as a tenant and I’ve lived in 4 different places. Easily the worst maintenance structure I’ve experienced. 100% unacceptable.
I have lived here for 10 months, lease ends in May. I didnt have an issue with this apartment complex at all. I was fortunate enough to get in a renovated unit. The dishwasher did not work at all, I put in a request along with another issue but the dishwasher never gotten fixed. Didnt really matter to me. My neighbors were quiet, maintenance fixed things the next day (besides the dishwasher). Nice, quiet, and safe. Only moving because rent is going up.
When I first moved here I was so excited and was telling all my friends and family who were looking for somewhere to move to come and join me. But it did not take long for me to figure the real deal Maintenance absolutely sucked took them months to fix something as small as a piece on the closet door had to call to the office after a month when I saw that no one had come to fix the broken closet all the money this community charges nothing should be broke are need fixed. That little bit of remodeling they did does not amount to the money they are charging this is HIGH WAY robbery all that money for late fees court costs who charges you to pay your rent on the web site that belongs to the apartments! Avery Point you guys should really be ashamed of yourselves PERIOD! Things that I reported when I first moved in still was not fixed 6 months later. Just make sure you read the fine print on everything. I was told that my sewer bill will range 15 dollars never was the case always over 30 dollars. All this money you guys charge for rent and the residents had to pay every utilities there was just like living in your own house. BIG shout to JOHN and TIM who absolutely rocked and want to tell you gentleman thank you for everything. The maintenance left keys hanging out of my door for over 8 hrs when I got home from work at 4:30 pm the keys was hanging out my door and my teenage daughter who was in the house upstairs all day and did not know these keys was in the door Avery Point would not had been able to explain anything to me if something would have happen to my child. I had MOLD in my apartment was always wondering why me and my daughter would get headaches but only when we came home. There was things that I had requested to be fix when I moved there in Feb 2018 that still was not fixed when I vacated in Nov 2018. I never do bad reviews on anyone but I think the world should be warned about this community everything that glitters dont always means its Gold. I feel in love with community when I came and took a tour could not wait to move in but it did not take me long to figure the real out very fast and I got me and my child away from there fast. This community is no way near worth the money they are charging people to live here and I will not recommend no one to reside here at all
Loved my apartment, however, when you move out (AND leave your forwarding address) they dont bother to send you a letter stating theyre keeping your deposit and you owe for damages. They just send you to collections. How would they expect you to know something was damaged, especially when they tell you that everything was fine! Anything to keep your deposit and gauge you for more!
Visited my parents here for Thanksgiving and now for Christmas. Both times, unable to get a good night’s sleep because of noisy upstairs neighbors. It’s after 1 AM right now and we’ve had to call the cops because that’s what management says to do. Apartment management has known about this daily problem for over a month now, and nothing has been done. It’s seriously unbelievable. Do NOT recommend this place—avoid if at all possible.
Good apartment complex. Quiet and safe. Most apartments are decent quality. Two major complaints: 1) Maintenance is often understaffed. I waited over two months for a service request. 2) Their market pricing might have you overpaying if you move in at peak times.Update after move-out: Very fair about move out costs! I can say I did enjoy living here!
I lived there for a year and my stay was perfect. I moved out earlier than date anticipated and received my whole deposit in a timely manner. First time ever. Kudos, great mgmt. Staff.
DON’T MOVE HERE AND STOP DELETING MY COMMENTS!!!Avery Point wanted us to move into an apartment with mold on the side of the house and the patio door was broken!! You’re supposed to ensure that the apartment is safe to move in for your tenants. You all dropped the ball big time. Heather (the representative of Steadfast Living) thought this apartment was okay to live in. I did a walk through and both tubs were dirty. Oh and both bathroom fans were filled with dust. How appalling! There was so mush wrong with this place. I want people to know the truth and you all keep hiding it!
Weve been very happy in the 3 years weve been renting here. Maintenance requests have always been done within 2 days. Office staff is friendly and personable. Landscaping is well kept. Theyve recently made a lot of improvements in their community amenities. We would recommend
I have lived at Avery Point for 6 months now and I cannot wait for my lease to be up. I didnt get a working dryer until 4 months into my lease. There are multiple broken and unfixed items through out the apartment that should have been fixed and checked before we moved in. The maintenance staff is terrible and it takes forever to get things accomplished. It seems that the only way to get things done is staying on them about it to the point where I get angry. Would not recommend living here if you want an apartment that is falling apart and nothing works.
Visited my friend after work one day and decided to stay the night. Woke up to my truck broken into and over $2,000 of tools stolen. After days of trying to talk to management I finally gave up. When management finally thought I was worth their time, I got a call to tell me it was not their problem. My friend is looking for a new apartment already.
It’s 90 degrees out and my boyfriend has no AC after putting in multiple service requests for over a week. Anytime he calls and asks when they will be able to come (he has called over 5 times) they say “we can’t disclose that information”. What a joke!! Please don’t rent here.
Save yourself the stress, move somewhere else. They put on a facade to get you in but the apartments look nothing like they are portrayed.
We really enjoy living here. Its like living out of the city but tucked in a quiet haven three minutes from shopping, fine dining and entertainment. Our dogs enjoy walks on under rustic pines and the bark park.Maintenance and security are efficient and prompt when needed.
If you make good money and love piss poor Maintenance this is the place for you! The pictures are fake. Walls have nothing but cracked paint even though the model home is perfect. The people are dumb upfront they dont know when anything will get done. Ive had major issues like a fallen closet and it has been two months since anything has gotten done. They do not care about you.
Avoid at all costs. Had no Air conditioning in the dead of summer for at least 4 days and my apartment was at 90. Called emergency maintenance 5 times and nobody showed up. This is the worst experience I’ve had. Nobody works here or is willing to help and the maintenance is lazy and doesn’t do anything
Overall a pretty good place to live. Like that they come with washer and dryer, and plenty of space in apartment. Have had several issues, but maintenance has been timely and fixed everything, which I appreciate. A lot of the apartments are pretty out of date though, but I enjoyed my time there.Only issues were with communication. Do not contact the office because they will not call you back. Have to go in, but when you do they are friendly and helpful.
Ive lived at Avery Point Apartments since February 2013. I have genuinely enjoyed my experience living in these apartments. They are affordable and the staff works hard to get maintenance issues taken care of. After reading other reviews it seems like many people seem to have this idea that maintenance should be at your beckon call, but the reality is that the maintenance workers have a million issues going on within the complex and they must prioritize. They truly do a great job and in a timely manner. The appliances are on the older side, but they work just fine. We had some electrical & mold issues, but that was due to the positioning of our apartment. The walls are thin and yes...you can hear your neighbors...however, you make friends with them, and Im sure all will be just fine. ;) Only recently have I felt unsafe in the apartment complex, and when the issue was brought up to management, there were police monitoring the complex within a few days. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend these apartments to anyone who is looking for a decent place to rent.
Weve lived at Avery Point for a little over 2 years now and I must say the experience has been positive. While they have changed management a few times, I personally feel that it has only brought positive change. Ive never had a negative experience when working with the office and have always felt like my concerns have been addressed. While the maintenance team has had some issues, theyve also changed a lot with the team.During the process of moving from our 1 bedroom to our 2 bedroom Tim was great, if you get the chance ask for him! Ive worked with him a few times and cannot emphasize enough on how nice it is. Overall, the living in the community has been a positive experience and I feel like the staff are always willing to work with you to address any concerns.
Dishonest group of people. I moved into an apartment last year after living in one of their 1 bedroom apartments. I was there less than 2 months due to the endless marijuana smoking neighbor right next door. The smoke/smell was so bad that is poured through my vents (not sure how that could be) and took over my apartment. I called the police about it because the management staff would not do anything about it. As a result of that call, I was constantly harassed by the neighbors. In other words, chased out. The management staff knew all about this but refused to do nothing. Now the apartment. It was given to me unclean and in need a repair. They believe slapping on cheap flooring is a remodel.Do not move there !
If you are in an absolute bind, move here, but if you can avoid it I would. I do like the location and there are many entrances. Layout isnt bad but showers are on your roommates wall, so if they get up before you, shower can wake you up. Appliances are old and work, but not very well. Dishwasher doesnt clean and leaves a film on your dishes on top rack. Dryer has had problems as well. Overall, appearance and quality is sub par. Maintenance is very quick but its because they do the crappiest repairs imaginable. Have had multiple maintenance requests and several have been had to be redone because it wasnt done right or done incredibly poorly. I also was cussed out behind my back by a maintenance staff and have come into my home with three maintenance staff standing there talking and one working. Pool is closed majority of the time, but they did get new chairs which are nice. Do have multiple resident nights a year with free stuff, but I never went to any of them. Rent is reasonable but you pay for it in other ways. Overall, I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone else. I personally am very ready to move out.
My name is Sadiehampton I’m so unhappy that this apartment complex took my sister money Lorraine and it’s sooo sad you take people money and didn’t even live in the apartment, and my granddaughter works very hard for her money every day she’s been crying and pleading the blood of over everything. God will provide, it’s just wrong to show the apartment that’s not the apartment that was supposed to be the apartment that they were going to live in . The apartment was unclean different. Things wrong, you know what was wrong the management hopefully do the right thing and give the ladies there money back. God is love . Just do the right things in life . If you treat people right you’re building would be full with no complaints, all the money you charge it should be very peaceful. It’s so many scams going on!!!
Moved in Feb 2015, it was super cold at that time. I didnt have heat in my apartment for a week. My girlfriend and I had to use the stove to heat our apartment. After that, soooo many things were broken and needed fixing. I have a stack of repair papers from them. They never held their word on anything. For example, when they were checking fire extinguishers, I requested they place it back in my apartment so I doesnt sit outside my door until 7pm when I get home. I talked with them twice about it, they still left it outside. The 24/7 access to the gym was a joke. They lied and said it was being remodeled so I couldnt use it for 3 months. It was in use the whole time and they never gave me the access code. Then they closed it and put it in the main building with the only access after working hours was with ones fingerprint, which is fine until they denied me a form that would say that they cannot use that information with anyone else....they got an attitude the two times I requested it and just kept saying that everyone else was doing and I need to just not use the gym. They said that they dont have the technology to erase fingerprint data after it has been registered. Seems like a bad management decision. I signed up here to be able to use the gym after 7pm when Im off work, they close latest at 6pm. They didnt ask for consent to fingerprint me and will not ensure that they wont use or share my personal info with anyone or anything else...and the nasty attitudes! My lord was the only thing that stopped me from flipping out from the disrespect. 0 stars. -5 stars if I could. More to say, but thats enough
Just kidding, The buildings are sorry the staff is sorry this place is sorry. Just rent a house. My place is trash, my ac is trash, this complex is trash. OR, risk your very sanity signing a lease. It’s a WHOLE BLESSING TO MOVE OUT. The owner responds to each displeased and pleased review, generically and generally. Move somewhere you feel WELCOMED.
Had to call in for information for a tenants insurance policy. It was a little hard to get through at first but the staff person (Amelia) and the Manager (did not get a name) were very helpful and polite. They both tried their best to help me.
I have lived here for about 1 year now and maintenance is really great! Yes, I have had some issues, but they always get fixed. I have had worse experiences living in another apartment complex where nothing got fixed at all, and I was paying $1000 a month for the apartment. Yes, the walls are very thin and sometimes it can wake you up, but hey its an apartment after all! Only reason why I would like to move is to have more space because there is no linen closet space or extra storage. But I think the staff is awesome and I do love the location!
If you want to live somewhere with disrespectful, rude, dirty, and unprofessional people this is the place for you. My first year living here I complained about five times because my downstairs neighbor would blast his music every single night. All they did was put a little note on his door which he then crumpled up and littered on the floor. After dealing with that for 3 months, neighbor finally moved out and we thought we had peace but NO! A few months later my daughter started noticing something unusual in the parking lot. A few times she said she was approached by a man smoking marijuana in his car. As a father I was outraged! Again I complained to management, and NOTHING WAS DONE!!!!. They didn’t care about my family’s safety and that’s where I drew the line. Definitely relieved to be out of this place, and some final advice STAY AWAY!!!!
Either the floor or walls are too thin. You hear everyone’s music, television, and conversations. Gets annoying when you work off shift or just want a nap.
My mother lives in these apartments currently and I have lived in many apartments throughout my life and this is hands-down the worst place I’ve ever seen. At least as far as the maintenance is concerned. Never seen anything like it in my life. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Good location and in unit laundry are the highs. The maintenance staff below average. Most neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves, but their visitors are rude and disrespectful. Office staff friendly and capable but ineffectual. Price does NOT translate to value. Top tier pricing due to renewal increases with no added value. Nothing is upgraded.
I’m so excited for my lease to end. This has been the worst experience. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every conversation outside and you can hear your neighbor cough downstairs. It takes maintenance at least a week to come and you have to remind the leasing office even after you put a request. Every machine in the apartment is broken. Washer machine is still broken but I don’t feel like constantly dealing with maintenance. I tried my dish washer for the first time yesterday and surprise surprise it was leaking. When I moved in the apartment was filthy, and there were dead bugs on the wall. As I started walking on the carpet spots started to appear as if the carpet was moved one way so I wouldn’t see the stains. So many stain on the carpet that I did not produce. So many cracks on the floor and bathroom wall. All counter tops have peels in them. You will be woken up all the time from the noise outside.
I have lived there going on 3 years! Love my neighbors, havent had any issues. Any time I have ever called the office for repairs maintenance has responded within 48 hours. We just has a renter week and they washed our cars, had an ice cream social and left a nice goody bag on my door. Believe me I am a complainer and dont mind giving anyone a piece of my mind! It has been all good in my hood!
Have lived here for 3 years, its been a safe community and Ive never had problems with my neighbors. Main complaint is that theyve raised not rent by 34% since I signed my first lease, wont negotiate on lease prices, so Im going elsewhere. Repair services are meh, usually delayed, and when I had a massive leak in my apartment one night it took an hour for their on-call guy to get to my apartment, with little communication.
I have good and bad things to share.. I’ll start with the good. The apartments are gorgeous and I love the location! Nice, spacey, and the neighbors are chill. But we’re had a few problems 1)Our AC has been out since Wednesday the 2nd and it is Sunday and it has yet to be fixed. The Maintenance called me and said it’s not an emergency to come fix it when it has gotten up to 80 degrees inside!!!!!!!2) my roommate that I have a lease with got a tad drunk one day and threatened to rip up my furniture and was threatening me physically. I called the office explaining my situation and to get my locks changed. It was going to be a $25 before ANYONE gets a key. Okay, that’s fine. If that $25 is going to protect me and my things - I’ll do it.. Amilla, the office lady i spoke to, took it upon herself to personally call my roommate and say “hey, just to let you know- Your girlfriend just changed the locks on you. i didn’t think you knew this.. I’ll give you your key for free.” And gave him the key! Without paying the $25! And after i explained he was being physical and i was scared of him. How professional!! It only put me in a more dangerous situation with the drunk. I wish i would have never called and got them switched.
I have lived here for one year and the staff has been super nice every time I have been in or called. They take great care of the property and I love the area.
Im a sixty seven year old woman who was assigned three different appartments and the final apartment was supposed to be move in ready! The door was plexiglass and so was the screen or the so called patio door. Did I mention that this apartment was lower level? The bath tubs in both bathrooms were dirty, corners in the bathroom and kitchen cabinets look like they had termite damage! The door to the laundry room was missing a hinge to keep it closed. It rested up against the cooking stove. The utility room had random wires hanging and uncapped vents. When we (my daughter, granddaughter, and myself)e went to the apartment with Heather and the leasung manager John L. to do a walk through, the regional manager stated that these are things that could be taken care of. But they say it was move in ready!! There is a state law that says we the tenants have a right to be safe in a rented dwelling. With the patio door that a kid could kick in or anyone could just walk in, would you consider that safe? I dont think so. John L. stated that all the patio doors were plexiglass but didnt remember showing us an upper level with a real patio door. SUCH A LIAR!
Horrible place...office staff NEVER answers their phones during business hours. My mother has had furnace issues for 3 yrs..caught on fire 3 times and the last time, the fire dept demanded they put in a new furnace or be fined. Save your stress and rent somewhere else.
Numerous (10+) cars were broken into during our first month there including mine. Staff just shrugged it off, no changes made. Had a few problems with management over my stay. We left the apt in better condition than move in day, they nickel and dimed our deposit to the point we owed them $45. My apt always reeked of weed from the neighbors. Staff is friendly enough but not very helpful. Had to sign the same move out form 3 times because they kept losing it. I guess if your out of options this place isnt the worst, but dont come in expecting too much out of it.
Typically I do not take the time to complete reviews; however, for these apartments I believe this is necessary. These apartments are by far the worst apartments Ive ever lived in. Ive experienced a number of unsanitary issues, that were consistently patched instead of repaired. The management is very unprofessional, and often unapologetic for the lack there of with this complex. Ive only lived at these apartments for 10 months and Ive experienced fleas, multiple uncompleted work orders(leaking air conditioner, issues with my dryer, a broken bathroom knob(for a month), and recently mold. My best advice is TO STAY AWAY! Its a reasonable complex in Castleton, but not worth the headache at all!
Good place to live
Although today I was not very happy with the communication of the maintenance staff, I have overall liked living here! Also shout out to John at the leasing office because he was able to maturely and rationally deal with me and my frustration, which I appreciated!
Ive been living at the apartments for the past two and a half years, and have seen both pros and cons throughout my stay, which will be ending soon. The area is great, as i live only a few minutes drive from where i work, so i only need to fill up my tank about once a month. Staff at the leasing office have always been very helpful when i had questions reguarding my leases. However, with my leases, monthly rent payments have been extremely inconsistant. This month was the lowest amount ive had to pay in well over a year or two, while other months, rent was hundreds of dollars higher. The main issue Ive had throughout my stay, has been maintenance. Every spring/summer, my AC unit has stopped working, and when i call maintenance, they come, change a couple wires or fuses then leave. The AC unit next to mine seems to be a newer model, much larger compared to the trash can unit I have. Recently, my unit has stopped working again, leading to my apartment being extremely humid at all hours. Clothes drier hasnt worked in ages, with nobody having come to repair it after i mentioned it for service, and one morning i came home from work, to see my bathroom was flooded from a toilet overflowing in the above apartment. Called for emergency maintenance, and they poked holes in my ceiling, and removed a rather large square of the ceiling, later just bringing a vaccum to suck away the water, never repairing the holes in the ceiling. Other minor problems being the hole in the floor right by the patio door, which i have plugged with a sock to keep any critters from coming in, the front door having a gap at the bottom corner, letting whatever can fit through come and go whenever, and one of the burners for the stovetop doesnt even fit properly into its metal pan, like all the others, for some reason.Aside from the below par maintenance throughout the past few years, ive rather enjoyed my stay at Avery point, just wish things were more consistant.
I had an apartment there for three lease terms. Each year rent and pet fees kept going up. I was also dealing with unresolved dog barking issues, from both sides of my apartment. The lease terms are also pretty bad if you have to break the lease (4 months rent).Beyond that, they get good marks for prompt maintenance request and in-unit laundry.
I cannot describe how incompetent the maintenance men that work here are. If you like having multiple calls to the maintenance people then youll love this place. All 5 of them will come out and inspect whatever needs fixing just to tell you its fixed or it was some fluid that was low. Just to have to call them again because said problem wasnt fixed in the first place. They treat you like a child when they do come out to you and make you feel stupid for calling them. It is the most frustrating thing in the world to see 5 different people come in and not know what the hell theyre talking about. If you dont want your maintenance issues fixed, live here. If you like having quality service people fix the things that go wrong in their apartment, look elsewhere. Not worth the rent that you pay.
The apartments themselves are okay, management is meh, but the maintenance staff is so profoundly unprofessional, it’s almost impressive. The apartments are a little older so there are naturally issues that come up. If you put work orders in to fix these issues, prepare to wait a few months (at the time I am writing this, they have yet to fix work orders I put in over a year ago) for them to be addressed, and for the staff to come 2-3 times to fix them properly because they half-ass everything. And then when the maintenance staff does show up, be prepared to have either a really creepy one (I think this creature’s name is Buck) who will hit on your roommate (who is half his age) and invite her to come over and smoke weed at his apartment and also ask where your 19-year-old friend is on multiple occasions, or one that will make racist comments to you the entire time he’s in your place. Honestly, Im shocked that a man as despicable as Buck is allowed to be the on-site maintenance man. I could never in good faith recommend anyone live here, especially any young woman. He makes me, my roommate, and my roommates boyfriend incredibly uncomfortable. Our toilet overflowed three (yes, 3) times, flooding our ENTIRE apartment before they decided to replace it. Not to mention that I had put a work order in for them to look at it before it overflowed the first time.Seriously, the maintenance staff is the least professional and ineffective group of individuals I have EVER encountered. And the management team is supposed to be on top of the maintenance, so they are just as bad. I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to live here.I know they are going to respond to my review with a too-little-too-late apology, but the truth is if they were truly sorry, I wouldnt be typing this review. They have DEFINITELY heard from me on MANY occasions over the 13 months that weve lived here, and never did enough to fix all the issues. The best way to improve this complex would be to fire everyone that works there and completely start anew.
I have a list of things that have broken all within days of each other and my upstairs neighbors are stomping on their floors until 3-4 in the morning almost every single night. The apartment complex doesnt seem to care about the complaints Ive made and my neighbors to the left of me are currently allowing their children to hit cars and my windows with sticks. This is ridiculous.
I have lived in this apartment for a year. My neighbor has been a neighbor from hell since day one. After many complaints and feeling threatened and not safe as there is drug activity that occurs, I decided to move once my lease is up. They are going to charge me because I did not give a 60 day notice even though I fulfilled my lease. The change in staff at the office is terrible. It takes several calls and emails before you get a response. Worst place I have ever lived.
This is by far, the worst living experience Ive ever had. I had to put in over 65 maintenence orders in the 2 years I lived there! They tried to tow both my cars for no reason and they tried to evict me because my check was lost in the mail, after paying every month on time for nearly 2 years! This is not the place you want to move to!
Very nice and quiet place
Quiet neighborhood, conveniently close to the highway and shopping. The apartments themselves are pretty nice, a little on the older side, but Ive never had an issue with maintenance and they were always very nice when they did come to fix things. Walls are VERY thin though so be aware of that. I have an old lady that lives underneath me and I swear I could sneeze and she would bang on her ceiling (my floor). I live by myself with a cat... so if me talking on the phone or coughing in the middle of the night is so loud, then you know how thin the walls are. My best advice would be to get an upstairs unit.DO NOT USE erenter insurance that they give you as an option!! That company rips you off of your money, read the reviews about them online before you go through them!! Its impossible to cancel your plan!!
I have rented at Avery Point for years now. There have been several home invasions and car break ins. I walked outside early in the morning for work and 12 cars in a row had its doors and trunks opened. Avery Point has been notified of this and has yet to take action. I understand that things happen but a situation like this should be addressed. Also the water wasnt working for 4 hours. I left several messages for maintenance only to find out from my neighbor that the water was out for hours and they are trying to fix it. Avery Point if there a situation like this you should notify all residents. It takes minutes to print literature to place underneath ones door. Also the office staff is unprofessional and careless. Jared is rude, ignorant and doesnt belong in a professional office setting. Overall the property is poorly managed. Take heed and go elsewhere.
Living here wasnt my favorite experience, but it wasnt bad. I lived here from August 2013 - May 2014. I was on the second floor, and I could hear my downstairs neighbors CONSTANTLY. The next door neighbors had the most annoying little dogs on the face of the planet. The office staff were pretty helpful. My a/c broke about a week or two after I moved in, and while they waited for the part to arrive, the office staff offered me a couple fans to use while I waited. The rent was kind of expensive for the place, but overall it wasnt tragic.
I lived in the townhome for 1 year. There were pros and cons about this apartment complex, but for the most part it was good. I wished they offered 3 bedrooms, but it only goes up to 2 bedrooms. I personally feel the pros out way the cons. It was a very safe complex and as a single mother thats the most important for me. The cons were annoying but got fixed.Pros and Cons:My apartment was not completely done when I moved in. They had finished painting the day I moved in, so I had to wait to move certain things in place because of the wet paint and ensure that my kids didnt touch the walls. The 2nd day I was there my door wouldnt open. I had to call the 24 hour maintenance since it was 9pm. I was told because my door would not open with my key and he couldnt open my door it was considered a lock out and I would have to pay a locksmith to get into my house, maintenance man left. I had to break into my own house because I did not have money to pay a locksmith and it was winter and my kids were in the car.PRO - NEXT DAY -- office staff heard voicemail I left and ensure me they would not charge me for the damages i made to the window and apologized for the way it was handled. They came out same day fixed windows and changed my locks.About a month in the apartment the dryer stopped working. It took 2 weeks to fix and I had to hang my clothes everywhere in my house to dry them. My dryer stopped working twice the whole year I lived there.PRO -- Both times it was replaced with a new dryer.Came home one day and there was water all over the floor. The water was coming from my dishwasher, even though I didnt use the dishwasher. When the stink got clogged it would send the water to the dishwater for some reason. It did this twice while i lived there.PRO --- First time it was fixed in 2 weeks next time they came and out a placed a new dishwasher, but still kept doing problem. However, i moved that month so i was not sure how it was fixed.Walls are very thin. Next door neighboors smoked weed alot my first month there. I didnt complain to the apartment office because i figured they really wouldnt be able to do anything. The 2nd month I got there it the smoking was less and less and then it stopped so it wasnt a huge deal to me. Especially since it was when i was gone I would just smell it when i got home.Pool is nice, but wasnt cleaned very often. My kids would want to go everyday and I would see band aids and tampons in the pool so we stopped going after a month of seeing the same band aids and tampons. Which sucked because the kids loved it.Other than that the apartment complex is pretty safe and office staff are nice and work with you. If they had 3 bedrooms I would have rented with them 1 more year.
I moved to Avery Point because it was close to my work and far enough for the major roads. You felt a bit tucked away from the Castleton mayhem. However, I can guarantee you that you can find better quality for your money.First...the maintenance. I had maintenance problems left and right when I first moved in. The maintenance representative who came out was always unprofessionally dressed and was insanely high on weed. So much to the point that my apartment would smell like it for days after. Ive had maintenance folks walk into my apartment while I was half asleep in bed. And another who slammed so hard on my door I thought my apartment was being broken into. They threatened to tow my car because I didnt know I was supposed to move it for them to pave. Pretty much got little to no notice that it was scheduled to happen. You will hear every conversation, foot step, toilet flush, and door slam whether youre on the top or bottom floor. The walls are like literal paper. And so is the paint job. Good luck trying to take any command hook off the wall without peeling anything back.It worked for the year I was there but Im glad to be out and in a much nicer place.
Lived here for six months. Not bad overall, but had some issues with the disorganized leasing office. Issues were resolved, but never should have been problems to start with.
Signed a 9 month lease, about to move out 4 months early. apartment looks nice but have so many problems underneath the cheap fixes they do.Brittany at the leasing office told me I would have a bottom floor apt but got a second and I have a dog. she told me pet deposit would be $200 but was actually$300. not to mention I had to get rid of my dog because the floors are so badly insulated that the neighbors below complained every day. the electric is so shotty. I had a lamp iron and tv plugged into a power strip and it blew a circuit. not to mention there is a one inch gap between our patio door and frame so the heat never reaches to the rooms/kitchen. bad choice moving here. would rather pay the double rent to terminate lease and go elsewhere.
I have lived here for almost 2 years. I saw the bad reviews and I dont get them at all. The tenants are, around me at least, friendly and quiet. I practically never hear my neighbors through the walls unless they knock something over, although I do hear the large dog under my apartment barking sometimes. The staff in the office is very friendly and helpful. The apartments have nice features and maintenance is pretty good about responding quickly, or at least being honest with what timeframe it will be done in. My only complaints are that the apartments are showing their age a little bit and the steps, vents, and exteriors look a little dated. All in all though, this is a very good place to live.
Here are the highlights of this place:- 3 different owners in last 3 years- Rent will go up 3-7% every time you renew.- Fees for paying rent online with checking, debit or credit card.- No enforcement of parking policy. If someone leaves their vehicle in two spots for a week straight or an apt has 4 cars to park. You will have to park in another spot.- People speed through the complex and no speed limit posted- Any safety concerns, Mgmt will say they dont have authority to do anything about. Example: Add speed bumps.- Vehicles broken into last 2 summers and no notices sent out to residents warning them of the situation.- No contact number for the Security that the leasing office says patrols, but no one every sees.- Walls so thin, you can hear your neighbor and smell what every they smoke (cigarettes, marijuana). Mgmt will do nothing about it.- If you have old appliances (1980s) in your apt, you will keep them until they die or you move out. Same with old carpet. But, your rent will still increase.- Management will not hesitate to put notices on your door, threatening to fine you for what ever policy they want to enforce.- Management will do the opposite if it doesnt involve them getting money.; (i.e enforcing the parking policy or noise policy).- Landscaping crew will blow rocks, sticks, dirt and what every they hit onto your vehicle and nothing will be done if complained about.- Three common responses; We cannot do anything, Thats apt living, and thats what other apts do.- Finally. If you manage to get anything back from your deposit. Its probably because they ran out of ways to take it.** Do not be fooled by the Mgmt responses on here. While you cannot please everyone. If they really cared, they wouldnt have to be on here telling you sorry about your bad experience. They just want your money. End of story**
Cant wait to move out of this apartment. My husband and I have lived here for over 3 years now, initially we didnt have any problems but as time went on little things have built up. First problem was when a maintenance man walked in UNANNOUNCED while I was sleeping to fix our air condition. Scared the living day lights outta me. When I called to complain to the office, i never received a call back. They may or may not be screening my calls because when my husband calls a freak mins later they picked up right away. This has happen multiple times. Since April, we have called out the maintenance crew 7 times because our 1970s air condition unit keeps raising temps in our apartment. When we have it set on 69 this summer inside temps is 79 to 80 degrees. They continue to come out and put free on which works for a day or two and then they have to come back out. Just a temporary fix. Clearly since we will be moving out in August they dont care, even tho we are still paying rent. I think they are upset because we are moving out of this dump. Good luck to the new management!
I have entered this community this month 7th..I have never experienced this type of negatively, been in 6 communities from 5 states so far, but this is the worst one so far, called them a week ago and explained them few problems in my apartment, when I entered the apartment the rooms werent clean, and the washroom is terrible, I saw a huge amount of hair in one of the room and in the washroom, and problem in my kitchen too, complained to them, they did not come and solve my problem till now, bedroom door is freezed too, couldnt lock from inside as it is hard enough to move, this is rediculous. We moved from California.Maintenance is tooo too wek.
I DIDNT EVEN RENT A APARTMENT FROM THEM AND THEY CHARGED ME ALL KINDS OF FEES WHICH GOT ADDED TO MY CREDIT!!!!! HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!! I HAD TO GO TO THE POLICE TO WRITE AND REPORT!
Apartment wasnt terrible but the staff were rude and really didnt do much (when they actually bothered to answer the phone). Glad I dont live there anymore
