An ideal local restaurant if youre in the mood for a nice date night or girls night out. Our server Sean was one of the best Ive ever had, very attentive and kind!All of the food was hot and delicious, and the portions are big enough to finish them up for lunch tomorrow. You also get a free slice of rum cake with every dinner entre you buy, and who doesnt like free cake?Also, all the booths have little plaques of the names of people who have gotten engaged at the restaurant, and the dates they got engaged. How adorable is that?

If you love Italian food, this is your new go to place.Service was above standard and the food was as ordered. It was very busy for Lunch and we did not wait long. Bit pricey but it was worth it to me.Good job.

Lovely atmosphere and incredible pasta sauce! The service was excellent!The chicken for the Parmesan was dry. The pizza that my husband ordered wasn’t very good and because they burned it, they made another one for us to take so that he wasn’t sitting without his food. The complimentary rumCake that came with our dinner was dry also. For the price, I give it 3 stars. ☹️

Went for Sunday brunch which was an absolute steal for the price! $22 for breakfast and lunch items on the buffet, 3 different meats that can be brought directly to your table, endless mimosas AND several delicious desserts!! Wow! Definitely didnt leave hungry. And our waiter was absolutely wonderful, polite, and checked on us regularly. Will be coming back for sure!

Due to covid, you currently cant order off the menu from 12pm to 2pm on Sundays because they will be doing only brunch. They do have a very nice outdoor area that you can wait at, its shaded and has a fountain.The brunch includes endless mimosas, so there may be some drunk Chiefs fan that comes to harass you while youre minding your own business. 😬 This happened to me...The food is very good though!! My husband recommends the seafood mushroom antipasto and the cajun chicken fettuccine. I really enjoyed the salad and the italian trio. Their italian sausage is to die for.The waitress and the host were super nice.Definitely worth checking this place out if you want some fancy Italian food.

We visited for Sunday brunch. Respectively, this is a very good deal - you can have the buffet and a bottomless cocktail. We sat outside which they have a lovely patio and it was a very nice experience. Our server was the bartender and he did a good job of giving us attention even though he had to go in and out a lot. I didnt feel like the food was very fresh, which was a disappointment. They have accessible parking, entrance and restrooms.

The toasted cheese ravioli and bruschetta appetizers were incredible and our dinners so delicious! The cannelloni is my favorite Italian dish, and Vs is absolute best! Everyone was friendly and professional, and the ambience was lovely.

I had brunch there today with my friend. I have driven by this place many times and finally stopped in.Natalie was my server, and she was absolutely wonderful. Very polite and professional.Now that I’ve seen how cute the inside is, I will definitely have to come in for dinner.

Amazing service!! Amazing meal... house Italian salad dressing is a sweet savory meshed perfect with the mozzarella sprinkled over the top. Fettuccine shrimp scampi..shrimp done just right! The Fettuccine sauce stuck to the noodles like it is supposed to and such an amazing creamy flavor. I am usually a salt and pepper on everything..none needed on this meal! Wow..I highly suggest to give them a shot!!!

Had a great early dinner here at Vs this past weekend! Being a lover of traditional Italian restaurants/steakhouses, etc., Vs is an awesome traditional Italian restaurant that obviously has done well with keeping its traditions alive. Great wine selection, great Calamari, delicious pastas and totally awesome Osso Buco! I could have this Osso Buco every night for dinner. Very tender and braised perfectly, great to mop up with their house bread. The staff are very friendly and the lighting as well as the music create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Vs is definitely a great place for great Italian food with great service. Thank you! Grazie! Grazie!

Timberly was our waitress, she did an excellent job. The food was amazing and so was the fresh complimentary rum cake for dessert. There are several gluten free options here. From the outside the restaurant does not look like anything special but the the food and wine is really good.

Full disclosure, I did work here through my high-school and early college days.This week I made a long prolonged visit for a work lunch and I must say, I was impressed. The food was even better than I remembered it being and the wait staff was professional and attentive, as well as helpful with suggestions on substitutions for my Vegetarian boss.The price can be a little on the high side, would love to see it be a little more competitive, but I cant complain with the food, service, and atmosphere.

They have some of the BEST Italian Ive ever tasted ! Ypu get what you pay for and the atmosphere there is also very pleasant. Almost has a mafia type vibe to it as well . Highly recommend !

Me and my boyfriend come here often for date night. They have a good drink selection and delicious drinks. Their food is to die for and the portion sizes are generous. It’s got a romantic vibe that’s perfect for a date night out. And the booths all make your seating feel very intimate. I’ve always had great service and the staff is always very friendly and goes above and beyond.

Vs is the real deal, authentic Italian. The restaurant has a quiet, charming, old world atmosphere - perfect for actually communicating and interacting with your companions over an amazing, home cooked meal. The menu has a variety of choices for any palette or dietary restrictions. Save room for dessert - the rum cake is delicious.

This is not the Vs I grew up eating at. We made reservations for an anniversary lunch, drove 3 1/2 hours to find out they are having a brunch. They did not show this on the web page that I could find. The meat they served was very tough and barely warm. They were not restocking the brunch table very timely. Very disappointed in the whole thing.

Known in KC for a reason. Their food is incredible, their staff are attentive and the ambiance is unmatched. You should take someone you love there. I cant recommend one plate because theyre all amazing. I will say their tiramisu is best in town.

We are typically thrilled to visit Vs, as it is one of our favorite restaurants, but we were not able to be seated due to prom, which was understandable. What got me was the hostess was exceptionally rude, didnt know where she had already sat people, she tried to sit us at a table with people already sitting there. She answered the phone 3 times instead of assisting us. Then told us after waiting about 15 minutes of all this... she couldnt seat us.

Best restaurant in independence bar none. I order out after work and they are the only place that not only has got my order right but actually put alot more than I ordered in it. Friendly service highly recommend. Also very very very delicious authentic Italian.

Richard was our server and did great. The salads are awesome. I would upgrade to the Cesar if asked. The bread was good. We had chicken parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs, and Chicken spiedini. All of which was great. My father-in-law said they were the best meatballs he ever had. There was plenty of parking. Its a nice building with a nice interior. We did not sit at the bar but it looks nice too. There is a nice outdoor seating area with a fountain and running water.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The ambience is Romantic and perfect for a couples date night.Jillian was our bartender and extremely knowledgeable of the menu.We first ordered the Malbec which was very satisfying. Then came out the bread and salad which did not disappoint, the only thing missing was pepperoncini‘s.Next were the entrées, we got the steak Dominico and the Cajun chicken pasta.Why I’m giving this review of four-star and not a five star is because of the steak. We ordered it medium rare which it was cooked accordingly but it was still tough and not that great of a cut. I didn’t taste any lobster, the shrimp was sparse and I only tasted spinach on top of it. All around not that great of flavor.The Cajun chicken pasta on the other hand was dynamite. Tons of flavor and juicy chicken.Another amazing feature was the free rum cake. Free is always good.We also ordered the chocolate cake, that definitely did not disappoint.I’m excited to come back here and I would highly recommend this place.

We had an offer for the lunch buffet and drove over to try it out. The food is deliziosa. Their red sauce is the best I’ve tasted outside of the NYC area. Cheryl provided excellent service, our drinks were never empty and the plates were taken away quickly. I tried the tortellini with Cajun Alfredo sauce, very tasty. Traditional favorites; spaghetti, lasagne and penne Alfredo all were quite good as well. My husband said the meatballs were fantastic. Italian music creates a nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Lounge/bar area is also available. Great experience.

Short wait for a table, looks like reservations were being accepted. Masks were required until you got to your table. Service was impeccable. Pace of the meal was excellent. My bloody Mary was strong. Pasta was hot! Appetizers were aplenty. In my opinion Vs has the best eggplant. Thick sliced with their sweet tomato sauce.I enjoyed my time at one of KCMOs family owned small business.

How do rate an Italian restaurant when you’re eating an American brunch buffet? Well, the bartender had a nice thick New York Italian accent. That was nice. And Amore was playing on the speakers.And oh, I forgot. Somehow, in 2021, there’s still smoking allowed outside. Weird.But not so weird when you’re eating assembly line brunch at an Italian restaurant at $21 a plate.

Our waiter Sean was so wonderful. Everyone was so attentive to us. The food was amazing! The fried lobster was to die for! Thanx to the recommendations from Quincy was dead on with the toasted ravioli. They really made our first visit worth it. We will definitely be back.

Was there for my god-daughters 16th birthday and the one lady, I didnt catch her name but I think she was the manager on duty did her best to make things difficult for the birthday party.First off, she lied to us in saying that they did not have a projector on site... There was obviously a screen that could be used and pulled down but no projector??? After sharing with her that we had spoken with the ownders son who told us there would be a projector, she returned suddenly with a projector.Then she lied and said it didnt come with the chords to use it... Are you kidding me?! She finally returned with the chords after we persisted that we were told all the necessary chords would be there.Then a tall table was requested. This same lady appeared and again said we do not have one. There were tall tables just outside of the small room we were giving that would have worked perfectly. Eventually, she returned with a small table that was not what we asked for, however, it worked with some adjustments on our part.I would have given 1 star except the food was decent and the young lady that helped us as a waitress was so perfessional and she was so proficient and she did everything she could to help us have a pleasant experience.This would not be a place I would suggest or recommend if you having a party type setting or situation. But like I said, the food was decent.

Husband and I just came here for our first date since the Rona hit. Perfect choice! This place is so fabulous. The decor is exactly what you want from an Italian restaurant, they have Chianti in a wicker wrapped bottle, and the food is absolutely amazing. We shared toasted ravioli, garlic arrosto and lasagna, and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was perfect and our server was an angel. Cant wait to come back for brunch!

What a great experience! Passing through and looked for something off the path just a little bit. The service was great, prompt and friendly! The owner, Momma V came by and said hello and struck up a conversation, she was such a sweetheart. The atmosphere was very homey and inviting. Our food came promptly and was delicious! The calamari appetizer was to die for! I can see driving back (over an hour) just to have a special supper for sure. Would highly recommend!

Really terrible place to be serving food. I ordered their sunday special fried chicken. It was brought to me and red blood was still oozing out of it. Potatoes tasted sugary and weird. Rum cake was average. Very pricey menu but inexperienced cooks who dont mind serving undercooked unsafe food to customers. Never go there stay safe.

Went four brunch today. It was fantastic! Was a little disappointed the pasta bar wasnt up but totally understand COVID protocols. They made up for it with some delicious shrimp tortellini.

They have a weekend special of fried lobster and let me tell you, if you go for nothing else I implore you to try this. They ambiance is lovely, the service is good, but the food is absolutely delicious. The garlic arrosto is delectable! Creamy, salty, sweet, crunchy. They have a full bar and huuggee wine menu, my fav. Its a fancy casual atmosphere, so dress literally however you want. Highly suggest, especially if you are close.
