Good food quality and selections really good deserts! Pretty LARGE price hike since covid. Maybe more than necessary. Service is usually good..

It was just ok, little on the been sitting out for a while side, not a lot of desserts out, chocolate fountain was out...it was just ok, cuz it isnt exactly cheap, ya know.

You know, sometimes people rag on this place because its a buffet and its inexpensive food. It is but it also is very good comfort food. I think they do better starches than proteins but if you get there before 4:00 their hamburgers are some of the best Ive ever had.And the people watching is worth the price of admission by itself

I went on Sunday 9/5/21 around 6pm. It wasnt packed. The food was bomb. From the fried chicken to the greens to the chocolate cake. Everything was good. The waitress asked if I wanted my cup refilled w/o having to wave her down. 10/10 would recommend.

I hope the meatloaf with red sauce is coming back to the menu again it was always excellent. The staff there is always great. And the Catalina dressing back for salads.

Not like it use to be. Food selection is slim and sometimes raw. Majority of the staff was rude. They charge you for the age of your child they feel the child is instead of what you say the childs actual age is. They have attitudes when you ask them for assistance. Only person that was nice is Ms. Jane the waitress. Enter at your own risk!

This place has turned into a terrible place to eat. WE went on a Friday at prime time. 6PM. Food has been over cooked, in the warmers entirely to long. No fresh selection. We were there 45 minutes and the same pathetic 7 fried shrimp was still there. Steak took 15 minutes to get. Over 60 dollars for 3 adults. Will never go back. Stay away!

The food was delicious. The place was clean. What I was most impressed with was the service. The lady that had our section was fantastic.

Cheeseburgers were great the rolls were really good but the desserts were not all that impressive

The server was nice. The cashier was nice. They did make sure the atmosphere was safe for getting food. But, almost every dish I picked up was dirty! I will not go back because of that.

The food was great and nutritious. I filled up on veggies and lean meat and had a small piece of apple pie. All of it tasted great. Less than$10/person for old folks.

Well I almost broke a tooth on the rock solid hush puppies. The fish was like chewing on Michelin’s finest tire, and the brown gravy looked, tasted, and smelled like used motor oil 10,000 miles past service. Not gonna totally bash on it, the best part of the Golden Corral experience was the “original flavor fountain Coca Cola that you self serve at the front door before you pay. And the silverware was clean. I’d imagine cause no one uses it.Side note: the pre-made yeast rolls were baked to perfection.

This was at best public school cafeteria food. Very limited in selection appearance was horrible the entire 1 we were there they had the same 2 steaks on the grill. NEVER will I go there again not to mention the massive price increase same on you for wanting more for less from you customers.

Havent been for a long time because food was not very good last time we were there. This time it was very good.Good selection Salad was fresh, ice cream was to soft. The lady kept my drink filled an was very pleasant. Thank you

Food was terrible. Drinks in the front were out of syrup in 3 different sodas we tried.When we first got there there was no steaks at all the only meat options were pot roast that was gone. Liver and onions or ham.Had to wait til 4pm to get steaks. When we got steaks they were undercooked or burnt. The best part was the salad and chicken noodle soup. So disappointed this place when I was younger was really good. They were very sanitize I can say that.

Wife and have ate golden coral independence mo 10 times. 2 out of 10 tasty freshly prepared food. Tried baked fish, shrimp, meat loaf, corn, peas,green beans, ham, and chicken. 8 times we believe the food was left over, reheated food from night before. Twice got sick on way home. Bathrooms very nasty. Why did we keep going back for more abuse? 11 am sr early bird price. We will not be returning. Gave what we feel was honest benefit of doubt. Avoid this place even during a famine.

After reading the reviews I was hesitant to try this location. But we did. And other then a handful of items, we thought it was good. The pot roast wasnt stringy or gooey. And the pork chops were perfectly cooked. The bourbon chicken was slightly dry. The okra should have been changed sooner. There was no vanilla sauce for the bread pudding. The banana pudding wasnt kept well. The ice cream machine wasnt cold enough. Bathrooms and dining area very clean. Staff was nearby when needed. Drinks topped up regularly without needing to call anyone. Coffee came automatically at dessert. So typical buffet fare. A bit of bad which turned out to be on the better half of expectations

Food was good. Staff doesnt seem to get the urgency of keeping the place clean and tidy. Also, very slow in replacing the emptied food. No fore planning on the food. Very reactionary instead of being proactive so the customer doesnt have to wait. With the prices you charge for people to eat fast service and a clean, tidy restaurant is the least to expect. Other than the tastiness of the food, this is probably the worst Golden Corral I have been in. The one I go to in Arizona runs rings around this restaurant. This is the third trip in the last few years to Independence and the third time Ive been to this restaurant.

The selection and quality of food was decent as was the service. The only issue was the mens restroom. There were paper towels all over the floor and the room smelled horribly. The stall doors look like they should have been replaced years ago. I sincerely hope that the womens restroom was not in the same shape.

Buffet choices were varied, which is good. The food was very tasty. Staff was friendly. Only issue...a lot of the booth seats had badly torn leather ( or whatever material it is). I would definitely return, even with the bad booths. 😀

Great dining experience! Very busy place but still greeted quickly and had good table service the entire stay. Angelia and Grace were amazing in anticipating our needs. Would definitely return!

Pretty good.... couldnt manage to get fried chicken wings out. Another customer and I requested more fried chicken, specifically wings. Took 20-25 minutes to get out and there were 5 WINGS!!!!I was a little disappointed my last visit.

Great food for a buffet. Great service. Only have been to this location twice now but both times have been a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

What food they had out was burnt, dried out, or just nasty. The server was rude and left plates on the table the entire time we where there. We where offered a refill on our drinks one time, less than 5 min after we set down and for the price it just wasnt worth it. The one good thing was the ladies in the dessert area, they where very polite and quick to help with any requests.

Went on 06/05/2021, they basically charge you to eat dog food. and NOT very many selections. If u want good quality food to feed your family, do NOT eat here. if you’re a true cook, you know you have to cook from your heart and soul and this was far from that. the oily over cooked pastas, oily sauces, the watered down salsa! the food is just not prepared correctly! This 1 star is dedicated to the guy who was busting our table.

Our Server was on top of her game.The food was Buffet food. Not bad, not outstanding, good.We got in early and the Store was clean, stocked and ready for the day.The food was hot and plenty to choose from.$$ it wasnt hard on the wallet.

I was very disappointed. Seems like this place has been going downhill more & more each time I dine here. This time I was disgusted with everything, right down to the oranges. Needless to say I only had one plate. Now on the other hand, the people were nice and the service was good-but the food quality sucked!

Considering it has been years since I had eaten there, this place has changed for the better! The seemingly enormous variety of foods is unmeasurable! The one compliant I would even speak of would be the drink prices not being added in the crazy sized price. But to play the devils advocate here, it could possibly be disregarded solely because of the endless amount of food and dessert. Not bad AT ALL.

I love going to Golden Corral. The one in Independence is the best one. Food is always hot, properly cooked, excellent waiters and waitresses.

Went for breakfast for first time recently. Online list breakfast as starting at 7:00 but this location does not open until 9:00. Got there about 9:30 and had some decent breakfast items but also a lot of lunch/dinner items. Salad was already out, fried chicken, fish, etc. Price online for breakfast was also like $8.50 a person but after drink was over $13 a person.Was going specifically for breakfast, if know rest of buffet was out and a higher price would have waited to go.Enjoy eating buffets but doubt will go back for breakfast again. Dinner after 4:30 is now like $20 per person with a drink so harder to go. Only get specials now if have their app.

Sad at 1st but then the staff brought out the good stuff! The hispanic waiter was amazing! He was friendly & fast! He took care of his section, & didnt have any problems with anyone.

It was extremely dirty, and didnt have enough customers to justify it... a server in the desert area was rude, asked for a steak cooked a certain way, waited only for her to give it to someone else that came after me, and had to wait all over again for something I had already waited for. Kids ran amuck, bumping into people, tipping plates as food fell off since small children were allowed to serve themselves- it was in a word, lawless. I was mortified as I saw a kid grab a roll with no utensils, only to put it back on the tray. Paid $74 for a HORRIBLE experience, will NEVER go back to this location. Experience was so bad, I might not eat at any other locations AT ALL.

When going make sure you sit where Rosa is working she is very attentive to refilling your drinks she is also a very sweet person polite and has a cheerful way makes you feel right at home

All the food was awesome, always loved the choices. My only reason for it not being a five-star is there was some things on there that havent been there lately like the hard ice cream, fried chicken legs (only baked legs) and as much desserts as usual.

Kids really wanted to eat Golden Corral been bugging me for a week. So I bust my chops to work up the money to take them. Some of the food was overly delicious others not as well. Hand dryer in the restrooms didnt work. No paper towels in the dispenser. And prices were changed once arrived.

I was so happy Golden Corral is open. The lunch buffet is pared down, but as a prediabetic I could easily find plenty of legal foods. I got to fill my plate with vegetables I dont cook at home.The restaurant was not crowded at all for a late lunch.

Great place always have everything you want to eat. Steak cooked to your specific taste i had one the other night that was medium rare and very delicious.

Yummy food and a lot of choices. Its affordable and both my kids enjoyed their dinner. Even my very picky daughter.

I love this place. You can never go wrong with this place. Service-Servers-Food-Environment-cooks they do awesome work. Respect goes a long way in the place. You can do well with meet and greet when you enter this establishment. Very well kept. Dishes stay clean and sanitize.

Visited here on a Thursday night and were pleasantly surprised. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and the food was all mostly very fresh. They made you get a plate and then the servers had serve you at the bar, no more reaching in for yourself and serving your own food do to the Coronavirus and thats okay. I think I like this setup much much better. Overall, despite the limited Buffet as it is cut roughly in half by the number of selections, I was pleasantly surprised

This Golden Corral is in Independence and is ok. They seem to have a difficult time keeping items on the bar. But in general the food is good and fresh. It looks clean generally. The service can be a bit slow but is always friendly.

Not what it used to be. The salad bar was the best part. The chicken was way overcooked and the hot food just looked sad and dry. No carved meats. We felt like trash just being in there. $50 lesson learned.

All the food was delicious. Made me forget all about the pandemic. My stomach was happy and my mind at ease. I was very comfortable. There were staff members constantly cleaning high touch areas. There were disposable gloves there for you to use to get your food from the buffet. Go enjoy yourself and eat some great food..!! You’ll thank me later. Smooches.

Couldve had a better and more attentive waitress but all and all clean, good food, convenient area, roomy and family safe and friendly, though its not necessarily pocket friendly.

Was not very happy with this trip. The ranch definitely was not the same very disappointed. I even called to ask a simple question and the girl who answered was very rude. Probably wont ever go back to this location

Bathrooms stunk and had greasy floors. No one behind the buffet would acknowledge you for a steak or anything else. Our server was the only good person out of everything.

19.00 for one person. Yes all you can eat but half the place was closed down. I understand with covid but at that price you can go eat at summit grill. No cotton candy and not one employee to be found. Not one box of gloves was full. I would not used them just use hand cleaner but still .. think they can step it up a notch at 20.00 a personI did give 3 starts as the food was good and the place is clean. The bathrooms were clean.

Employees allowed a child to throw up near and on the salad bar. They gave her a trash can to continue to throw up into instead of asking her parents to take her to the restroom. They swept up the mess and put a drying agent over the wet spot but did not close down the salad bar or ask that they remove their sick child from the restaurant. With covid cases increasing and the newest strain causing increased mandates, something like this should have been handled extremely differently than they did. Honestly, eveneven without covid - this was handled extremely I appropriately.

Very busy.Would have given more stars but people that paid were standing around waiting for tables to be cleaned... and there were a BUNCH of dirty tables where the people hadfinished/left.Trying to get refills on drinks was difficult.... the poor waitress was running as fast as she could.

Food is good waitress was awesome, Thank you lisa!But the cleanliness and torn up seats and the smell of spoiled milk is horrible. Not be coming back here again. Its only been a little over a year ago since my family has been here and I could not believe how bad and neglected this place became. Waitress was really friendly though and working her butt off, only one other server was here. Thats ridiculous, hey management staff clean the store at least and fix the benches and chairs! You cant even sit down on some of them because they are badly torn.

Could be cleaner found too many dirty plates. Carpet needs attention, also restroom.

The only issue I had was a waitress yelling at one of the kids in our party. Yes he was doing something he shouldnt have BUT his parents were right there and I was getting ready to say something to the child. She did NOT need to intervene.Other than that, it was good altogether.

Went here for dinner recently, had not been since pre covid. The cost for one person and a drink before tip is 19$ and change. Yes its all you can eat, however when they dont have a full buffet of food to choose from that means you are limited to what they did decide to put out. So lets hope it is something you like or are in the mood for. I usually enjoy a salad and one more plate of hot food, chicken or steak and a baked potato with toppings and a couple of rolls. Still not 15$ worth of food but I didnt have to make it so I am usually fine with that. Beyond the buffet was limited, I am disappointed in the fact that they no longer make the salad dressing from scratch. They buy bulk, yuk! The rolls are not nearly as good as they use to be. The honey butter I put on my roll was the most flavorful thing I ate. 😔

$40.00 for two people, Sprite had no syrup in it. It was straight carbonated water, food was good but some was a little dry. No six feet distancing at door and not enough gloves at buffet.

Most of the food was poorly prepared however the wait staff was very pleasant.

Husband wanted to stop and eat one day before his chemo treatment a week ago and we sat close to the restrooms for him, tables close to us where taped off so we figured we where safe until people started standing next to our booth and the waitress untaped a table next to us. We both lost our appetite and left we didnt even get to eat much it just wasnt a place for him to be at after all the people came to that area every table was full back there. Wish I had asked for our money back.

Our server was great! We always had drinks. She called us Honey & Sweetie. She even found me some honey butter for my rolls.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a Golden Corral. Now I remember why I don’t come here much. The service was horrible. Waiter kept passing us cleaning up everyone’s else’s table. We had to go to him for refill, silverware, etc. He only came to our table once.

The best part was the busser. He kept my table clean so I could keep eating the great food. And kept my soda full. Did not waste a single dollar.

They just reopened after being closed for a deep cleaning. Food was fresh and there were plenty of choices. They provide a mandatory glove for everyone to handle the utensils. I chose to pay per pound and take my items to go.
